Prof. Tran came to teach his business class at my Overfelt High School. The lectures were informative and got me interested in going to Evergreen Valley College after graduation. But now I don't see him teaching any classes in the college catalog??

His intro to business class was great. I learned a lot and had many extra credit opportunities just in case I needed it but honestly unless you bomb the midterm or the project you really don't need it. He brings in lots of guest speakers that provide good background info about business. Definitely recommend taking his class.

Pro. Tran is an amazing teacher who knows very well about practical business environment. Most of his lectures are based on real cases, and each class is very fun to learn. The prof teaching style is definitely different than any other class but in a good way. He focuses more on real life stuff. If you like to read from the book and take exams and ditch class then this class is not for you. You'll have to be present in class for the guest speakers or you'll lose points.

My previous economics professor was extremely disorganized so it was refreshing to have a Prof. Tran this semester. He comes to every lecture prepared and organized in his speech and also in the material that he presents. Lecture notes and all the multimedia that he presented in class are all well organized in his Canvas along with the assignments.

Pro. Tran class is very well organized with all the lecture videos and excel files on Canvas. There's a lot of work and you can't miss any class or you'll be lost trying to do the problems on the computer. He makes himself available for questions which is appreciated. The lecture videos are great because you can rewind and review on your own

Learning about Excel from this professor was a lot more useful than using a TI-84 calculator from my normal professor.

Professor Tran doesn't necessarily follow the book word for word. Instead he likes to use real world example that street applicable to your life. His lectures range from inspirational and motivational to caring. The enthusiasm he brings to class is also something admirable. He definitely is always prepared and ready to lecture.

After being in EVC for 3 years, this professor is one of a kind. Prof. Tran STRAIGHT UP tells you what is needed in the business world. He utilizes Canvas to the maximum - emails students about events, what to study, what will be on the test. Best math teacher Ive ever had. Walks around and checks to make sure everyone understands the concepts before moving on. Lectures are clear and easy to understand, Canvas is extremely organized, relates what we learn to life and shows a lot of hidden tricks in Excel. Do the homework and the exam is a breeze. Wish he taught business calculus too.

He's a pretty solid choice for a business prof. The semester-long group project was a lot of work. The class is only graded by 100 points so if you miss an assignment it hurts your grade a lot. He's straightforward and nice and doesn't ask for much when it comes to assignments. Textbook optional. Very organized. Would take again.

Great teacher. Knows his subject well. One of the most real professors that actually care about teaching. He always provides us with relevant information in Bus84 intro to marketing. Easy workload, but you learn alot. Text book not that necessary, because marketing is always evolving, he provides useful information and files outside of textbook.

Mr. Tran's Business Statistics brings statistics into the business world. He really helps relate what we are doing into how we would actually use this in our job. He is a very relaxed professor who is very easy to communicate with any issues or questions you may have.

TAKE HIS CLASS !! BUS060 is a hard class but he was able to provide lots of good REAL LIFE samples that make you connect with the concept instead of just looking at Math signs that you might never use in life! I learned concepts and tools that I was ACTUALLY ABLE TO APPLY at work.

I am glad that I am taking his class. He's a "real" professor who is so enthusiastic in teaching and giving good knowledge to students. Thanks to his help, I can apply the knowledge I learn from the class to my work. There are a lot of good stuffs students can learn from him. Mr. Tran not only teaches well but also cares a lot about the future of his students. He demonstrates statistics with real-life situations so you can understand it better. In class, instead of, wasting time watching all the videos, he makes us do it for homework and during class time teaches us what we struggle on. He is a really fun teacher.

I really liked this professor. This class was extremely lecture based. The professor had guest speakers come every class, so attendance is mandatory. The assignments were pretty easy, but it is a lot of group work. The exams were okay, but you need to take notes on the lectures. It was a fun and interesting class. I would recommend taking it :D

Taken Tran's class before; he is by far my favorite that I've came across in college. He is a great teacher but I see him more of a mentor figure really, trying to guide in the field we are interested in. Oh and he's funny

I learned a lot from him, he's a good professor he always open and gives you the advice to learn and face your fear and be confident, English is my second language sometimes its hard for me to understand and listen to English communication but for him, I enjoy it and understand every word that he said, he motived his student to be successful.

Professor Tran is one of the best professors I've taken at EVC. The class was straight forward to the syllabus. You know what to expect everyday you come into class. What I didn't expect was how inspirational and motivating professor Tran was. I took him for intro bus and I'm now considering starting my own business because of him. A great teacher.

Prof. Tran has a lot of knowledge to share and his lectures really help us understand the topics. He engages with students and focuses on collaborative essays and projects. I've learned so much from his class and through guest speakers. The work is manageable and simple to complete.

Professor Tran's class was a very easy pass and I actually learned things. The skills and speakers we had (for extra credit) in class are applicable to real life. He doesn't give any busy work, which means very little homework! There were four assignments, a midterm, and a final throughout the semester. He also answers to emails very quickly.

Professor Tran has real work experience and he is very dedicated in delivering real-life examples. If you want to become an entrepreneur, you definitely can learn from him and other guest speakers he invites throughout the course.

Overall a great course to help you learn how to start a business. He also brings in speakers from outside that can help guide you and if one speaker didn't scratch that itch, there was always another speaker ready to go. Great class environment that encourages you to ask question. Work isn't unreasonable either and tied to the material in class.

Professor Tran's business statistics class was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Its literally impossible to fail his class as long as you just show up. This class was a repeat for me and i'm super stoked that i passed this time because of professor Tran!

Professor Philip Tran is amazing. His teaching methods are unorthodox yet friendly. This class is the definition of skip class wont pass. There is no homework and all the lectures are done online at your own time and the only assignments are quizzes that are super easy. He emphasizes topics that will help in real life business careers. he has a BA in biology but switched over to running bussnessies. he understands that things like statisitcs will never be used in your job and focuses more on teaching you how to use exel instead but keeps to the subject matter you sign up for. honestly a really good teacher even throws pizzza party end of semester some times.

Prof. Tran brings real life business acumen to an otherwise stale statistics subject. He uses today's software technology to help you understand what is useful in the workplace. All midterm/final exam questions are covered in previous daily lectures. Show up daily, pay attention, watch a few lectures at home and you're guaranteed success!

As a full time student and part time employee, I was debating if I wanted to take an additional course at night and I am glad I chose Entrepreneurship with Professor Tran. He brings in guess speakers whom obtain real life experience (which is extremely inspirational and helpful) and he himself does that as well!! He is AMAZING!

Really easy class. Quizzes every class but if you just review online notes you are fine. Easy A and extra credit assignments if you mess up on anything. Very caring teacher and wouldn't hesitate to take him again.

Professor Tran is probably one of the most relatable teachers I've ever had probably because he is on the younger side. When you're talking to him it feels like he's someone you would actually talk to rather than just a professor. He always makes sure that we understand the topics and makes lectures fun.

Funny and professional, helpful to students, even promised a pizza party. He'll drop 2 lowest quizzes at the end of the semester. Quizzes and exams are not that hard If you come to class and listen to his lecture and ask questions if needed. Highly recommend!

There are going to be quizzes every week based on the chapter you guys are learning. The files are all on canvas. Watch all the videos for the chapter of the week and get ready to take the quiz when you come to class. The midterm is free-response and based on the videos you guys watch.

Philip Tran is a great professor. Gives you the necessary tools and information to pass the class with ease. All you have to do is give effort and actually do your part and do the work. Gives relevant information, skills training, and insightful knowledge that you can take and use with you on your business career.

Professor Tran does a really good job explaining and simplifying concepts. He is open to help you succeed in the class. The class setup was something new but is a really good way of teaching in my opinion. Quizzes every week but they are really easy and based on the lecture. There are 1 Midterm and 1 Final all based on the videos and lectures.

We see memes on Facebook about a failing education system that does not teach us a lot of about life. I think this is the first college course where I felt like I was getting real life experience from different people in the business field. The course was also really organized and Professor Tran keeps it simple and honest with his students. 

I like that the course was done in a way that made it easier for me to understand Business Statistics and how it applies to the business world. It made it enjoyable for me to attend this class and be able to understand it easier. The professor is fair and gives information that we would not find in a textbook. All in all, his class was interesting.

I like how professor Philip are very flexible and figure out ways for us to understand the materials the best he can. I like that we have quiz every week to briefly review what we have learned and what is the key point we need to remember. Professor Philip is very generous with score and he always gives you opportunity to do better next time.

In this class I enjoyed having guest speakers and learning about there experiences and there do's and don't. I also enjoyed the work and how useful Professor Tran made us try using excel. Something that I least enjoyed was not being able to have some type of zoom meeting the learn about the concepts of each chapter. Overall I really enjoyed class.

I liked that he let us drop one assignment/quiz of every section. I did not like the almost weekly discussions with the requirement of having to reply to others. It would have been easier to understand if there were lectures.

 In this class, the things I love the most are my professor, Philip Tran, is the most special teacher that I ever have because his teaching style is not really academic at all like the other teachers that I've met, I think his teaching style is unique because it makes me feel like I'm not studying with a teacher but instead I'm having a real mentor

What I loved about this course is that the teacher actually teaches useful information that we will need in the real world. He doesn't expect you to memorize everything like a robot but rather hopes you keep the key information. The only dislike was the office hours were early in the morning.

Clear syllabus and works' policy is the thing I like most. It doesn't give me much stresses since I know exactly what I need to work on and what am I able to drop. 

My favorite thing about this course was that Professor Tran was very understanding. He taught this course with the mindset of how it would be applied in the real world. He provided lots of resources to help out his students and even provided sample quizzes with questions that appeared on the real one which was super useful. I recommend taking him.

Amazing Professor! Applies statistic to real-world situations. The thing I liked most about this course was the structure. What I mean by that is canvas dropping the lowest grades for each of the discussion, quiz, excel and exam. This tremendously helps out.

I honestly can say what I like the most about the course is the podcast. Those were my favorite because thats where I learned the most. Watching the review videos for each chapter I liked the least. I think the videos/zoom meetings with Philip is better to prepare/review the chapter.

What I liked the most about this course was watching the different podcasts because I always learned something new and interesting that I didn't know before. There is nothing I disliked about this course. Overall such an amazing teacher and recommend taking his class. 

I really enjoyed taking 2 classes from Professor Tran this semester. I really appreciated being able to use what I learned in his classes to my business and to my every day life.
