A really great teacher. You can learn a lot from him. His classes are fun & he lets them out early by 15 or 20 min. One thing though, he doesn't like students to come into class late.

Thinks he is like 22. He likes seniors, makes a joke out of everything, so inapropriate. Ifyou talk in class, you will do fine on grading.

It is because of this man that I graduated. He never gave up on me, and he will never give up on any of his students, regardless of year, major, gender, race, or however else you try to bring him down.

Good class...just make sure you're there when he's giving a test!

Awesome guy. Pretty funny. Difficult class. It's all multiple choice and a few short essays... but the questions are DIFFICULT. You'll do fine if you study hard and he is a cool guy.

Dr. Kelly is a genuine person that wants you to actually do stuff in his class. He expects alot. You have a quiz every day on some serious readings, and if you don't thouroughly read then you will not do well on that portion of his class. But I ended up liking the class in the end because it really is a lot of very interesting stuff to learn.

Dr. Kelly is one of the beat teachers I've ever had at SSC but you will need to work. Gives a quiz before every class so you'll need to read. Great sense of humor and it really shows how much he loves what he does. Best thing about him is that when I went to see him he always took the time to help. If you have to take H/W..He's the one!!

He's a good guy and really funny buty he makes you work hard. Quizzes before eery class on the reading plus other projects and papers. He hates tardiness and only allows 2. He can be generally helpful and willing to work with you but there is only so much he can do before he'll tell you you should withdraw

Dr. Kelly is an amazing teacher. He's very nice and funny in all topics but you need to work hard there are three assignments due the whole semester which he is very clear about. There are quizzes every class so do the reading and you'll do fine.

One of the best teachers around. He is one of the few that generally cares for his students and wants to see them succeed. Interesting and fun, but he pushes you to try.

Great teacher! Pushes you to do the best you can. Expects class interaction and will wait until he gets it. Will do everything to help you pass but you have to be willing to do the rest. Have this at 8am which would usually be awful, but I don't mind going to it because he makes it fun. One of, if not THE best prof. at SSU.

Prof Kelly is one of the best professors I have had while at Salem State. He is strict with his attendance policy but he teaches you valuable information about whatever subject you take him for. I have taken him more than once and as long as you show up and get the work done you will do just find in his class.

Had Prof Kelly for First Responder class. I learned more in his class than just about any class at SSU. Loves what he does but he is strict on attendence and being prepared. Def the professor to take for this subject

I had him for first responder and if you don't read the chapter you are screwed and he will point you out if you don't do good! Read, come to class, take notes and study and you will be fine!

I took Professor Kelly's class based on what people said on rate my professor. Have to say they were right on the mark!Demanding, caring, def loves what he does and it shows. Had an extra day put aside to help us with skills prior to an exam.If you plan take this class as an elective, be prepared to work but so worth it! Best experience ever!!

Took an EMT class concurrently and he teaches this like its one. It helped a ton/I learned so much! Dr. Kelly has a very cool personality but is demanding b/c you are learning to save peoples lives! You have to show up and put in the effort. He is passionate about what he teaches and does it very well. Overall fun/awesome class I owe him so much!

Dr. Kelly is a great professor. He engages all his students with discussions and is applies hands on learning. Most professors would just put up a power point presentation and call it a day but Dr. Kelly really cares about his students. He motivates all he teaches and I am honored I earned my EMR certification from him.

I took Prof Kelly's class as an elective and it was way more than I ever expected. I thought this class was just another easy first aid class but I was def wrong. He is demanding but he brought his A game every class. He expects you to do the same. I learned more in this class than any other class I've taken at SSU. Def recommend this class!!

Dr Kelly is a professor that expects you to give 100% because he will give 100%. He may come off tough but if you follow what he says then the class is easy. Everything is laid out and you know what to expect everyday. No surprises and the best thing is there is no final!

Doc is an awesome professor. He expects you to be ontime, have done the reading and be prepared. Quiz every class on readings but they realte to his lecture. He offers extra help every week. He's an amazing teacher and amazing person in general . He's tough but it's only cause he cares. You'll learn everything you need to know plus more , he's makes you want to strive to do the best you can . I would 1000000% recommend taking a class with him , SOOO worth it !

Took Doc's class this Spring and he kept telling us the stuff we learned would happen to us. Well he was right! Just the other day I witnessed an accident scene and stopped. I was able to use the skills he taught me to assess the injuries and address the immediate wounds while waiting for the EMT's. I wanna be an EMT now and will enroll soon!

Docs class was amazing. I learned so much and will use all the skills he taught us in class. He expects a lot out of his students but if you put in the time and effort it will be totally worth it. Don't let him scare you he tells it like it is but its important for the type of field this course covers.

He is a remarkable professor who is really invested in his work. Class may be a bit difficult but if you seek help you will at least pass.

This course was amazing. Doc Kelly took the time to help me when I most needed it. Dr. Kelly is one of the best professors I have had. He is very knowledgeable. He is sarcastic and dramatic so do not take anything personally. He really wants his students to succeed but he is not going to be an easy grader. He makes his expectations very clear. This class is not easy. But if you pass you'll get a certification out of it!

Not to be weird but I think about this professor a lot. This was by far the hardest class I have ever taken in my college career, but you could tell this guy wanted success for all of us. If you didn't wanna listen or show up to class, he stopped caring about you. Class was at 8 am, he locked the door at 7:59. Just be there and be attentive.

Dr. Kelly Your class is honestly the best course I have ever taken! It was really challenging but worth all the effort I put in to it and gave me the confidence to pursue a career in the nursing field. I hope to one day become an emergency room nurse so thank you for your patience and taking the time to go over material I didn't understand.

OMG. This course was probably the hardest eva at Salem State. I bombed my first exam but Dr. Kelly told me he would help and I did much better on the second exam and even better on third. This course is not your high school first aid class (as I thought) but now I feel like I can handle any emergency that comes my way. This class so worth it!!

I LOVE HIM!!!!! He's been doing this for over 30 years man knows what he's talking about. Skills tests are easy if you actually pay attention. If you don't show up to one class I guarantee you will have know idea what is going to happen next class. Quizzes are usually twice a week 8 minutes 10 questions. It's an easy pass fail.

I took Men's Health Seminar because I needed to fulfill my PGR category and didnt expect it to be much of a course. The selections of topics were really good BUT Professor Kelly took the time to help me understand some issue that I was struggle with. Turned out to be a great course taught by a great professor!!

Doc as a transfer student I have to say you are are most motivated and passionate professor I have ever met. You kept saying how important this stuff would be and you were so right. I was driving home yesterday and two cars collided in front of me, one guy was bleeding badly. I knew exactly what to do until EMS came. So thanks this stuff def works!

This class was probably one of my favorite classes gives you 2 quizzes a week and 1 test every 2 Weeks but if you prepare the PowerPoints a little bit you will get a A class is pretty straightforward he is also a funny guy. Attendance is mandatory

Dr. Kelly I just wanted to say thank you because I had to use what you taught me this semester. Today during my student teaching experience I had to use the Heimlich on a students. Thankfully the student is okay and was not harmed but I just wanted to reach out and thank you for what you taught me, because I was able to save a child today.

Doc just wanted to say the course material you put together for Men's Health Seminar was awesome. As an older student I wished I had this material when I was a Freshmen but even through I have a wife and family, i still learner quite a bit (especially about relationship and being a better dad) So thanks for a great semester and course content!

I just completed my 150hr Directed Field in Coaching and Prof Kelly was excellent. He was attentive and answered all of my e-mails immediately. He offered really great suggestions and took the time to help me think deeply about about how I interact with my players. Phillip Kelly is the best professor I have had at Salem State University. He makes sure everyone understands the material and will go back as many times to do so. He is caring, charismatic, and funny. There will never be a dull day with him. Show up to his class and be ready to participate and do all the quizzes online as well as the exams.

Dr. Kelly is amazing! I'm a pych major and took his class as an elective. His lectures are clear, interactive and uses his real life experiences as an EMT to make class material personal. He's funny and cares a lot. Your gonna have to read the chapters and come prepared but if you do his class is totally doable. Def worth taking him!

As you know my life has been one major disappointment after another this semester and the time you spent with me made all the difference so I could graduate this May. I took this class in 2018. Now in 2024, this man is truly the only professor I can say has had an impact on me, and I took his course as a random elective! I think of him often and hope he is doing well. I remember him being extremely inspiring and pushing every single student to success. One of the best teachers I've had in my entire life!

He is a very straight to the point Proffesor, pay attention in class and watch the videos and you will do well.

Listen ya'll Doc don't play. He's upfront with everyone and expects you pay attention to due dates and get things done on time. He's always around to talk if you need him but do what he says and you'll learn a bunch of good info that I can say really helped me with some tough decisions this semester!

Dr. Kelly's class is challenging but worth it. His lectures are engaging, and he uses real-life EMT experiences to make the material personal. Attending class and reading the textbook are a must. unstuck AI was a great study tool alongside the course material.

Taking his class as of right now and I have to say it is so worth it. Struggled at the beginning but sooner or later you get the flow of it. Kelly does not mess around which is perfect for this class. You honestly learn a lot in his class. Strong on his students cause he wants everyone to truly understand it. (you could save a life one day)

I took his class my first semester of college. While it's a difficult class to take, it's one that I will remember for the rest of my life because of Doctor Kelly. He holds his students accountable for their work, but he genuinely cares about and checks in on them when they need it. He's also funny and will make a lot of jokes in class.

Doc is one of the realest professors on this campus and always wants his students to succeed. He will always help you as long as you ask. He is a classic Irishman and is hilarious, he values the participation in class and remembers who interacts. I wish I could take professor Kelly again, if you have the pleasure of taking him you'll understand.
