points easy to aquire but dont expect to learn from the teacher. lecture straight from book. test straight from lecture. hes very vague and unclear. homework irrelevant to textbook. he also added 2 chapters, 3 class days before the final.

terrible class, he assigns copious homework and half of the time his questions arent valid about 30% of the time. I can see that he clearly cares for the students, but his teaching style is not beneficial, unless the student has had prior knowledge in the class. His write ups are what irked me, most of the prompts weren't pertinent to the section

He assigns an excessive amount of homework, then gives you exams that barely relate to what he's been teaching you. The math program he assigns homework on, MyOpenMath, is absolutely horrendous and takes an enormous time to finish. He grades super harshly, only curves the final exam, and doesn't give you extra credit. Everyone hates this class.

pretty sure spring '17 students were his test dummies. he said he changed the curriculum and the way he went about the class. Definitely wasted my time.

He didn't know how to solve all the hw problems he assigned us. He would complain if he had to do more than copy paste assignments that took us hours to do. When he was behind on grading assignments we needed for an exam he said he worked hard and deserved to go camping instead.

When confronted by the class about an exam not being representative of hw, quizzes, lecture his response was, "Yes it was and I have tenure anyways." As a prof you should always look to improve yourself, not give up because you got tenure mid semester

Large portion of the students dropped the class a couple months in. I would recommend recording him so you hold him accountable to what he says in class (tends to change his mind a lot). Wind up spending most of class reviewing the previous lecture then rushes through the intended lecture in fifteen mins. Then the process repeats itself

His class would alright if he actually taught the material he tested on or if he assigned less hw. I understand this is a 5 unit class, but to do write ups, daily practice, online modules and other materials is truly excessive. I do not recommend him even slightly

Ive never had to work so hard for a professor who seemed to care so little for his class and his students . He has no regard for the effort his students put into his class, meanwhile he was slacking big time

I would not recommend this professor. He isn't focused on being an efficient teacher, and puts very little effort into the class. Constant typos and errors in worksheets (hw and quizzes). One positive note, he did print out lecture handouts sometimes and they were helpful

Lazy prof, with unrealistic standards for his students. Claimed we were his guinea pigs and the next semester will be different. Constantly referring to his tenure when criticized. Take his class at your own risk

People do not want to take William's class, they are stuck with him and find themselves enrolling into the same math class during the following semester. Save yourself from failure.

Spare yourselves. Mid semester he stated that the class average was 60%. These (presumably) were the students exerting the most effort doing the work and they still managed to not do well. The material isn't similar to the tests and hands out too much homework.

The worst teacher Ive ever taken. He made it nearly impossible to pass his class after the first exam. He never thoroughly explained things to help his students better understand nor did he find it important to change his teaching after he found out that more than half the class was failing. He will set you up for failure. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!

Defenitely not a mathematician, and doesnt seem to understand his own material. Gives massive amounts of homework making it difficult for many of us to balance work, family and school life, like the amounts of hw he gives is extremely unreasonable and on top of that he uses MyMathLab which only works half the time.. take his class with caution

Can't even begin to express how much stress this class caused me. The only bright side is that no book was required. I've heard numerous complaints from other students and by the end of the semester my class had basically a quarter of what we started with.

He is the worst. EVER. Doesn't give students a break. Assigns tons of homework. Tests never add up to lecture, and doesn't give a study guide. He blames us(students) for failing and doing badly. He makes us copy math homework THREE times, and says repetition helps. It is really ridiculous. I am surprised he is still there, most of his students fail

This professor is LAZY in providing his own lecture materials. Poor presence on Canvas . He relies on videos posted on youtube from 1980's. His Canvas is mess to navigate. This professor seems out of place for SMCCD. All other professors I have taken at SMCCD take pride in what they do. Not this guy. Shame on Skyline for hiring this guy.

He taught in class is so easy but the homework is so hard, kind of different.

His class has a lot of homework. If you don't like to read math textbook, I do not recommend you to take with him. He will give a lot of reading assignment every weeks. During the test, he does not allow to use calculator. In addition, the test is extremely unfair. We only have one hour to answer 7 question. That's ridiculous.

Ur attendance is ur hw & ur hw is assigned almost every lecturelecture is every other weekday. Tests are meh bc his presentation is poor. Some are out of the hw but hw could be just as confusing as the lecturer himself because the important/fundamental concepts are not being explained well enough. However, having LinAlg as background 4 diff helps.

Unreasonable in many aspects; excessive amount of hw; CERTAIN hw word-problems deserved lots more time/effort; nurtured a stronger cheating culture in class due to the structure of the class; poor presentation; Test feels like robbery. EC given unreasonably. If you care about diff-eq, don't take him. Cool hair tho.

-Grade based heavily on exam. The later exams don't reflect what you have learned in the online format. Expect to see things never covered in the book, HW, or videos. -No GC, so even if you are a mere few points away from passing it won't happen. -When emailing him, will need to ask for a reply to get one. Horrible thing for an online class.

This is the absolute worst professor I've ever had throughout my 4 years of college. I took his class spring of 2017 and nearly half of the class withdrew after the first exam. His lectures are unorganized and unrelated to the much more difficult and daunting homework assignments. His only 5 star ratings were posted the same exact day, coincidence?

Fake it till ya make it type of professor for diff eq. All over the place with lectures, exams and homework. Doesnt grade all your work when youre expected to do most if not all them.

Genuinely the worst teacher I've had my entire scholastic career. While other teachers will a modicum of effort to pretend that they care, Mr. Williams just flat-out doesn't even try. Some particularly aggravating issues: the man just uses some other teacher's videos from youtube, doesn't tailor the online hw at all, and doesn't even host meetings

How did this guy become a college professor? This guy is by far the worst professor I've ever had in any subject in college. He just flat out doesn't care about his students, he doesn't hold meetings, he doesn't communicate with his students, he is unprepared and unorganized, and he takes forever to grade exams. Avoid taking his class at all costs.

I'm gonna be honest, I want to give a higher rating. It seems like he works hard and will try to help you. However, he's BAD at explaining things in his lectures. Terrible. I tried to give him a chance because of COVID, but this is just bad. His explanations are really bad and he takes too long to grade. You could be failing and you wouldn't know. He understands the subject, but struggles to clearly explain important parts. It's to the point where he wastes time on things that aren't even on the tests or hw.

This is by far the worst teacher I've had in my life. There are no lectures beside the ones that are ripped from other teachers on Youtube. The online homework is a pain. COVID may be making things difficult, but it feels like there is a huge lack of effort coming from the professor. If you struggle with math, it's best not to take him.

Gave a 10 hour final, fell behind half way through so going into the final didnt know half my grade, dismissive when working with him. However he responded to emails in under 30 minutes always. But that doesnt matter when every exam is a final and the final is longer than the sat and act combined

He will give you a lot of hw and if you dont do just one of them, your overall grade goes down by 5 points. His lectures are not helpful, and assigments everyday. If you dont wanna have a bad time at college dont take his classes.

Doesn't care about his students at all. Went on a vacation during the semester. Complain about how much work he has to do. Forgot to send out the test questions. Always have excuses. Bad at explaining high-level math. I'm admitted to UCLA this year, but now I have to reapply next year because I had to drop this course or I'll need therapy.

This guy removed my class's access to all of the study resources (textbook, online homework portal) in the morning on the day of the final. Complete lack of critical thinking, and completely unannounced. He also takes his questions from other professors and his lectures are useless. Avoid this dumbass if you're looking to enjoy your Trig education.

Not a good Professor. His lectures in youtube are confusing and very hard to understand. He is very wordy when he speaks. He does not go directly to the point. When there is something you do not understand and try to email him for clarification, it will take you time for him to reply. Very frustrating for this kind of professor.

i could learn more by doing my own thing than attending his class. He does not explain any concepts. He would assign class work and go over 15% of the exercises. That is litterally his lecture. He has this weird homework that has some bugs so you won't be able to take 100%.He keeps claiming he gave extra points. Enough for covering 1% of all I have lost. I am taking his class as a transfer requirement and this class will affect my 4.0 GPA. I AM getting more than 90% on the tests but apparently, I won't be able to get an A.

where to even start with this guy. his lecture videos suck, he speaks so slowly and repeats himself so often that the lecture is 3x the length it needs to be. he gives hella homework. his tests are the WORST. the questions are so overly complicated (and sometimes on things we never even learned) that the tests take 8+ hours to do. that's ridiculous

While rating professors here there are so many positive tags. None of which can be applied to Professor Williams. As a senior applying to colleges and trying to explore my passion for math, I thought linear would be a good option. Made me question whether I want to go into this field out of the fear that I become anything like him. Horrible teacher

I'm taking Linear Algebra for my degree. One look at the homework and format and I knew I signed my soul to the devil. Except the devil wasn't this torturous. Do not take any class "taught" by this professor. You're gonna regret it. If you do end up taking a class from him, however: Good luck.

Prof. PW is constantly mixing up the wrong test questions, leading to having to retake quizzes. Prof.(Negan) also teaches in fractions all week, then tests with decimals. He has lessons telling us not to reduce fractions, then marks questions wrong on tests that are not reduced. Awful unless you are already gifted with math by the heavenly angels.

Basically, his online Linear Algebra class is just a pre-recorded lesson from 2020, and he rarely responds to emails. The class works gets super hard and the class is just not great.

Just overall horrible. Lots of homework every other day. Does not teach proofs despite about half the tests being proofs. Doesn't cover all the material that is supposed to be on the tests (or in the homework sometimes). Also lazy as all his lectures are from 2 years ago. I haven't failed a test in 8 years until this class.

Further into the semester both the class material and the classwork piled up. The class material is very vague, while the classwork demanded further research and more material in order to finish them. I spent hours researching how to do certain equations, and at times even online resources could not help me.

He gives out tons of homework: classwork is due every Monday and Wednesday and homework is every Sunday. The tests are unreasonably hard, and his lectures don't help. I've had to look up YouTube video lectures for his class. His workload would be manageable if this was the only class you took. If you have other classes or a job, take another prof.

Horrible professor. Unavailable for office hours. Doesn't particularly care about you or your effort in the class, just expects you to figure things out. Homework and tests are hours of work and much more complicated than what he teaches/reviews. Be prepared to learn everything from Khan Academy. He's nothing more than a class facilitator.

What a terrible professor. How the college has still kept him as a teacher is appalling. Rude, unprofessional, doesn't respond to emails and when he does, it's usually him telling you to figure it out or come meet him in person. Exams take 6 hours to complete. Takes points off for the simplest mistakes, like not spelling your name correctly.

Please don't take this class. I am someone who is relatively good at math, but this class was just too much. While the homework and classwork is straightforward, his exams are nothing like it. Also, the amount of work he gives you on the exam is way too much for the little time he gives you to actually complete it. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.

Professor Williams is not a teacher but a class facilitator. He will not respond to your emails asking for help, the classwork is extreme and must be handwritten the test will not match the homework but rather be far more rigorous and in depth. Only take this class if you have no job, any other classes or are able to teach yourself complex math.

Never struggled in any class like this one. Tests are nothing like any homework or classwork. Lectures are basically useless. Went though the class with youtube videos. If I had choice to go to his class or watch bunch of math videos online and take test in any other class I would choose later.

Worst class I've ever taken. Longest exam (of the 5) took me 12 hours. Feedback in 5 wks. Homework riddled with errors and nothing like exam. Not worth your time or GPA. Does not teach effectively or empathetically. Extensive previous experience required for success. About 80% dropped. Trust the reviews and get away from his classes at all costs.

Very little actual teaching from the professor. Little to no communication outside of class unless directly reached out to. Lectures and homework barely matched with tests and very wacky grading on assignments and exams that make it shockingly hard to do well.

Only take this class if you are either ready to learn by yourself, or if you already know everything about Calculus II. The professor does not accept late work and gives no breaks, homework on the constant just like all the other reviews said. I thought I was smart since I recently got accepted into an Ivy and decided to attempt the class. Downright the worst choice ever. His papers and lectures don't help at all and the work is scaled in difficulty so high.

All the other reviews were correct. I'm surprised this guy hasn't been fired. He doesn't teach at all, his notes are useless for the assignments as it doesn't even relate, and as the others said, the difficulty is through the roof on the homework and tests. Also, he doesn't know when to stop giving assignments. He gives no breaks to students.

I don't think Williams even knows much about math, he is by far the worst professor I have had. Just gives out the crappiest notes that don't help at all with homework that's difficult as hell. Four exams that basically determine your grade. Barely helps students, and the quizzes take on average 10 hours to complete and are due in ONE DAY.

Avoid this instructor at all costs. He doesn't care about you nor respond to you, and he doesn't teach. He just gives you 5 assignments a day and expects you to figure it out, and his exams are long but also way more difficult than the homework and practice. 8 hours out of a single day to do a single exam and he also gives more homework after!!

This professor is the worst that I have ever taken. Terrible lectures that don't match even REMOTELY what content is on the homework, classwork or the tests. Even worse, tests are worth >80% of the class grade (including the final, there are only 3 exams). He covers about 30-50% of what is actually on these tests, he will actively try to fail you

By far the worst professor. Doesn't help you at all with furthering your academics. His notes and online textbook are quite frankly useless as the assignments are so difficult that I didn't even find the info on the notes or textbook at all. Also, when you get something wrong, it doesn't teach you how to improve. He just tries to fail you.

A professor with no love or passion for actually teaching mathematics and is just there for the retirement benefits of a teacher. Doesn't care at all for the students and assigns so much goddamn work along with tests that make no sense and take on average 8 hours. Listen to all the reviews and avoid this teacher.

I have no idea where to start, but all I know is to not take his class. He doesn't respond to emails, he has not graded any classwork assignments, VERY test heavy. I don't recommend taking this class if yo have other classes to worry about. His assignments will take up your whole day.

I wouldn't wish this class on my worst enemy. You are doing all of the studying yourself through linked videos. He doesn't communicate. The class is crazy time consuming (~5 hours per assignment, 3 assignments a week + quizzes). There's no saving your grade since the grading is a point system. No extra credit or curved exams. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.

Please DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, There are 3 Homeworks and 2 handwritten Classworks every week, that worth nothing but required anyway, then has a very difficult exams in myopenmath that only has 3 tries with grade penalty. If you want a good grade, please do not take this class. Professor doesn't care at all.

I took Math 251 (online) course with Prof. Williams. His lectures don't make sense and is a complete waste of time. Homework assignments are helpful. Packs in a ton of questions during exams and final. This guy should NOT continue to teach math as taking this class was an awful experience.

This professor doesn't teach and assigns hella homework, feels like 5 classes in 1. Everything you learn is online or from Khan Academy. This professor is just the worst.

I asked Professor Williams, "How much do you care about your students and their learning?" And Professor Williams said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and assigned 5 ASSIGNMENTS PER WEEK, PLUS AN EXAM THAT TOOK HOURS TO DO WITH BARELY ANY OF THE QUESTIONS FROM THE HOMEWORK OR TEXTBOOK.

I remember dual-enrolling in his class during my high school days. Now at an Ivy school, but this professor stuck out. He's the most obnoxious and unhelpful professor ever, like he barely assisted in any way and was never there to assist students. He's more difficult than Ivy and UC professors, and doesn't teach at all, just repeats stuff.

So you have to do three classwork assignments each week, and on top of that 3 online homeworks as well due on Sunday with a discussion mixed into there. He grades maybe once every three months and on top of that the only material to learn is from write ups and from plain videos of him reading the write ups. I made the mistake of taking this class.

If you value your sanity, I wouldn't take this class. This guy gives copious amounts of classwork and homework each week. Only time I ever saw him give pity was when Canvas was down due to the AWS outage and gave us an extra day to do the classwork. There is also mandatory discussions where you have to talk about work you did last week. Don't take.

Videos are over complicated and poorly explained. One video from separate teacher made learning this course 3 times easier. Dosent answer emails and unhelpful overall. Shows bias on behavior.

Took this class online and there was tons of work. I tried reaching out to the professor but he never responded a single time. I have probably sent around 15 emails and not a single time did he respond. Save your time and don't take his class.

bad professor never answered a single email. the work would take hours a day and it was worth about 5 points. All the notes he gives has absolutley no correlation towards the tests we take. what does he do all day. does not accept work a day late but grades my work around 3 weeks after i turned it in
