Phoebe is a great professor. She clearly loves what she's doing and very helpful with the students. She knows her material and knows how to make students understand without having to sound condescending unlike certain professors who has the PhD but do not know how to relate back to students. she teaches you how to learn stuff easily. bio isn't easy

This class was terrible. Her lectures and labs don't coincide so you're essentially learning two things at once. Can't really hear her and her accent makes it more difficult to understand. Her labs are basically the Declaration of Independence long. Tests/ quizzes are so hard. Proctorio made my anxiety worse & would overheat my computer.

I consider myself to not be a bad student, mostly A's and B's and a 3.5 gpa. With that being said, this is the first D I've gotten. I don't know if its the online platform or if she is like this all the time. She makes everything so unnecessarily difficult, long labs only 10 pts, ec 2 or 5 pts, exams are 100 pts each with info not covered in class.

I have never had a much harder class than this one. She makes everything so tough for us and uses proctorio which is so unnecessary because her tests are impossible to pass. Also, she doesn't know how to teach as well and expects us to know everything. Overall, just avoid taking this professor if you have too. The negative reviews says it all.

Prof. Gimple's class is very tough, but it's not too hard if you put in the work. Her Zoom classes are mostly for the lab, but she reviews the lectures a little. Lab quizzes are intense, and that lab final was terrible. The exams aren't as bad as long as you study for them. Definitely not an easy class, but she's very knowledgeable in the subject.

She did not teach well. She would talk fast and chicken scratch so horribly that no one could read it, as well as not slow down when asked. Her tests and quiz study guides would have close to nothing that was on the test and the test questions are mainly filled with things she mentioned and did NOT teach. Proctorio Is horrible, logs you out a lot.

She can be very discouraging and she gets really upset if you ask questions. She really expects you to know everything when she only briefly goes over it. When asked to go over lab she refuses and wants us to do everything alone. She is a nice person but she doesn't teach so well.

She is a very nice professor, but the quizzes/tests don't match too much with the homework & material. She expects every lecture to have a mini quiz at the end, talks a mile a minute, and it a student is struggling ignores them. She is a nice professor, but average. If you ask her to slow down she ignores you. A break out room almost every zoom.

She uses a app called proctor that glitches and logs you out during tests, her tests and quizzes never match the material; study guides and home work given. If a student is struggling and asks for help she not only ignores them but gets offended that the student does not understand. The app logged me out of my test and she did not let me retake it

Expect to teach yourself, be confused, struggle. None of the tests and quizzes given were remotely passable if studying the work she gives you. Very fast talker with sloppy writing. About half of my class dropped her class this semester and may who didn't ended up with D/F grades Personally my class grew very close together bc of suffering together

I was very hesitant to stay in Professor Gimples class however, Im glad I did! Theres a few things that you should be aware of though. Shes very knowledgeable and loves the subject but is a very picky grader. Its hard but doable. I took it over winter semester so it was shorter but, if you put in the work, you can definitely pass!

Professor Gimple's tests were super difficult and I failed all but 1 exam, but I managed to get a B by doing good on the labs which are easy and doing good on the practical and doing extra credit and participating. Her quizzes are pretty easy if you study the labs and go over what she said for the lab.

The rumors are true. The first thing she said to us was "don't complain." She uses Proctorio and is not flexible about it at all. She talks very fast during lectures and she has little respect for our privacy as students; another professor I took allowed me to take tests on campus. She allows little room for questions or accommodations.

Professor Gimple is nice but not really great at teaching the class. She has study guides posted on every exam but they don't help out a lot because there isn't something specific to study. You need to know tiny details to pass these exams and the online lecture power points aren't that useful as well.

I'm praying her tests are focused as to what the study guide is saying bc I'm seeing a lot of people saying it isn't here :( shes super sweet but its a v hard class

Took Professor Gimple's class during the intersession and while it was fast paced, it's passable. Her lecture style may not work for everyone, but I found them to be very interesting and motivational. She's very passionate and her class made me fall in love with biology all over again. Review the slides and put in the time; you can pass this class.

Prof Gimple has a great format for learning biology. It's not homework-heavy, so you have extra time to study for the tests. The lectures are fast-paced and the Labs/prelabs can take a while. Her grading criteria aren't always clear, so attend office hours if you have questions.

She's a really good teacher and knows her stuff when it comes to biology. I recommend her to anyone who wants to learn. However, there's little to no homework. Your grade relies solely on the fact that you have to be a good test taker. I'm not one and managed to pass because of extra credit opportunities.

The class is hard, but she really wants you to learn. There's no hw other than prelab/growth exp, but is graded mostly on tests/quizzes. Very detailed study guides. Lectures can be a bit fast paced, so make sure to review. She gives a lot of unannounced ec (50+pts)! Just be sure to attend class. Very kind if you're willing to put in the effort.

She was a great professor, but you really need to review again and again as the subject itself is very memorization heavy. A lot of students barely studied and expected to get good grades. Can grade a little slow though. LOTS OF EC!! The study guides are very detailed, so make sure to use them. This class definitely taught me how to study WELL!
