She is extremely helpful! She will go over problems multiple times until you understand. Homework is due regularly. She will prepare you for the quizzes and tests, sometimes giving the actual problems from the test, and just changing the numbers. If you study your notes from her lectures and do the homework, you'll pass!

Great professor. Only uses the book by Gale. Gives lots of homework!! You must do all of it. The tests are really easy and she has a great way of explaining problems with humor. She also gives out practice worksheets for test prep which is great. Takes attendance every class and you can only miss two.

I took her for summer. She is SUPER sweet, very helpful, and really cares about her students. Take her if math isn't your best subject! She goes at a very nice pace to allow students to understand! Lots of HW and extra credit, but it pays off!

I was DREADING having to take math 112 but Prof Duong has a way of teaching that makes it so easy!!! I am really enjoying math again and love her class!! She is very flexible if you miss a deadline for homework and will re-open it for you. LOTS of homework but thats the same with all math classes. We move at a really fast pace so don't skip!!

I took her Winter class: 15 weeks of Algebra in only 5 weeks. She made it GREAT. Best math teacher I've ever had. Explains things simply and clearly. Isn't a pushover, but is flexible, so those who care will be successful. Serious about attendance. Study guides for tests are SO GOOD; utilize them and you'll get an A! Offers some extra credit.

I took math 115 and dropped it a previous semester. I hated math and always seem to just bomb tests no matter how hard I studied. Professor Duong changed all that for me. She is clear and goes at an easy pace. I would absolutely take her again because she's just that great! Btw, She has a very inspirational story on how she got her degree.

She's for sure one of the better math professors you will have in your college career. Trig is a tough class but I'm glad I had her as a professor to get through it. She's very organized and it's easy to track your progress in the class. Do the Homework, and study study. Extra Credits are life saviors. It's rare but every so often she's HILARIOUS

Great professor. I had to take her for math 115 twice due to personal reasons. However, the second time I took her I got a B. Class is pretty hard especially if you are not good at math like myself. But if you put in the work you will learn a lot from her. Very helpful and does her best to answer your questions. Take her if math isn't easy for you.

I wish I could take her for ALL my math classes. She is great at explaining math in a cute fun way. She gives clear, simple steps on how to solve problems that you can remember. She likes to say math is "relaxing." Math is usually not relaxing for me, but now I'm not afraid it. She allows calculators and uses the online math lab for homework.

I absolutely LOVE and appreciate how ms Duong teaches! She makes sure her students understand the lesson , she teaches you step by step so math won't be as difficult as people think. What helps the most is that she gives a test review and we go over some problems so we won't have a problem solving similar questions on the day of the test.

Professor Duong is one of the best professor I've taken! She will be there for you and her test are based on review/homework. She curves the grade if you are willing to succeed and learn from her class. Try to show up in her class since it's really mandatory.

I took Ms. Duong for trig during the winter and I enjoyed every minute of the class. She is VERY good at explaining and her lectures are organized. She doesn't mind going over the problem again if you don't understand the first time. A review is given before each test. If have her then you're in good hands because you will learn a lot.

I had to retake Math 112 a second time because I did not understand anything my first professor said, but when I took Professor Duong, I passed it with flying colors. I went from an F to an A. I enjoyed Professor D. Class, Her Methods are very practical and she thoroughly reviews concepts and questions before tests. My advise is to study hard, attend every class session and listen carefully to her. If you have questions she will explain. Turn in your assignments on time and take notes on board. Save your tests and materials to study.

Study and you will pass. Do your home work to learn the excel formulas and you will pass. Excel makes it way easier than a calculator. Like she said why use a calculator when you have big calculator with excel. She lets you use notes during all her test and final. Formulas are provided for you by her but I preferred to write them down my self.

Loves to teach and teaches in a very clear, organized way. I'm a special needs student(learning disability). She won't move onto new material unless all questions are answered. Very fast grader. So helpful during her Office Hours. You can use formulas during tests. Her classes right b4 exam days are crucial to acing the exams. Highly recommend!

Do the homework and you will do well. Her notes are great, and way better than the book. Do not skip class every lecture counts.

The class is based on 350 points, 5 homework sets each worth 10 (50 points in total), 5 test and each test worth 40 points (200 points in total), and a final exam that is worth 100 points. We did not need to buy the book or a calculator, everything was based excel, online ( students get excel free through student email). The test is based on homework.

Professor Duong is amazing! She makes Stats accessible and do-able. She favors Excel, and she will tell you exactly how to do each problem with Excel. She is fair, nice and willing to help all students achieve their goals. She is very organized and explains everything she is doing and explains how to do each step. 4 tests, final, HW for credit.

There is a significant evidence that professor Duong is a gift from God to LACC. I am in Business major and in fall 2017 I had Math 227 with professor Duong and Business Calculus with another professor. She always answered not only my Statistics questions but also my Calc ones patiently . She helped me a lot and explained everything so clearly.

The only homework we had was with ALEKS. She always does reviews before the tests and gives you points for the review as well. Her tests are like 30 problems but they aren't hard. You only have 5 tests and then the final. She has an accent but she explains everything thoroughly and puts the lectures up online. Love her so much! 10/10

Shes a really good professor. She makes it very simple and lets you know what will be on the test. You do have to attend the class because then you get behind. Overall, if you do the homework and study the notes, you can pass. A tip would be to do the homework everyday because she does assign hw every week. Dont do it last minute!

She is an excellent professor that I had for math. I took her for Math 125 and Im currently taking her for Stats. She explains the math problems in a most efficient way so that students can understand. For non STEM majors that plan to take Stats please take her. I know its not easy but she made it easier. She is an excellent professor I had. I took her for math 115 and Stats. She gives great examples so that students can easily understand the math problems. She made Stats easier. In Stats instead of using the calculator she provides us to use excel. She had to leave mid semester due to her pregnancy and we had another teacher cover the class.

I have taken math 240 and 260 with her. Her class consists of doing homework, solving and writing notes and honestly she gives a guide before every test and drops the lowest grade. If u do ur part and do all she asks its an easy B. Upon encouragement she also gives extra credit. What else can one ask for. I love her so much!!!

I had Professor Duong for Math 260 (Precalculus). She is clear and concise. Often she says, "I'm lazy, so I like to do it the easy way." This is true and she shows you ways to do math easier. What I like most is that she takes notes in class then makes them quickly available after class. If you follow her notes and attend class you will succeed.

She is one of the best math professors ever. What's best about her is that she teaches you statistics using technology whenever she can. what this means is that problems that would've normally taken 8 minutes to solve get cut to 30 seconds. She really understands how hard statistics can be and sympathizes with her students.

Extremely organized, clear lectures (which are pre-recorded so you can go at your own pace), very kind & understanding. 9-12 question exam every chapter, 2-3 question quiz every section (2 attempts at quizzes). A LOT of hw, looking to 70 every ch. She works very hard to make sure you get an A. 100% take her!

I took her for fall 2020 and I am amazed I passed. She teaches so well, her video notes are so useful. If you have any questions she is always there to help you. Yes the tests are hard, But she lets you know beforehand what to study for the test. Just stay on top of your work and you will pass!

Professor is super kind At first it was difficult for me to catch up but I got the hang of it. Theres a lot of work. For each section theres a quiz so it was normal we have 3 quizzes every week ( theyre not that long and she lets you retake 2x) and then you will always have the chapter test the following week. Shes really nice.

I liked the class simply because it's self-taught (disclaimer). The class required bi-weekly Zoom meetings, but after the first week we only needed to show up if we wanted to go over material. 4-8 homework assignments for 10 chapters, test after each chapter. 25% of grade was HW and final, 35% tests, 10% discussions. Do the work and you'll be fine.

Im horrible at math however Ive taken professor duong for two different math classes and have passed with an A & B. The secret is really just doing the homework. She accepts late homework and is very helpful. Shes funny, kind and thorough. She gives you two chances on each quiz. I highly recommend taking her for any math class.

Professor Duong is amazing at explaining math her online lectures videos are short & easy to understand. Make sure watch the video and finish the homework before the lecture that is helpful. She offers plenty of extra credit for difficult chapters. You can take practice test for each chapter. I think this class is easy if you put time to study it.

Professor Duong is a real gem. Precalculus is a tough class but she made this class very simple and easy. She is also very understanding when it comes to grading. She drops one exam as well. There is a lot of homework but they are worth a lot so make sure to do them. Highly recommended!

There is a lot of homework, if you don't do it you will see your grade drop. Luckily for my class, she ended up lowering the amount. Besides that, the tests, exams, and quizzes are easy if you pay attention in class. Also, recommend making a server on discord with other classmates, and she is understanding of life outside of school.

Took her for stats over the summer. She still uses pre-recorded lectures from 2020 found on YouTube at @phuongduong3194. However, they are still useful and easily understood. As far as I know we only needed the textbook ($) to do the HW (only 10% of grade). Weekly discussions, quiz (2 tries) for each section and 1 test for each chapter.

She is a true Gem, I am the worst at math but she made it simple. Everyone uses stat crunch and she taught us how to use excel to solve the problem. She is amazing at answering emails back. Online and easy to pass

Professor Duong's MATH227 class was a mixed bag. While the lectures were detailed and the textbook helpful, organization and tech issues made for an uneven experience. But unstuckstudy was a great study tool to supplement the course.

Grades tests very quickly, which I appreciated a lot. Uses free resources and doesn't make you pay $$$ to submit your homework, which I appreciated even more. I was nervous about taking a 5 week Calculus II class, but she made it work! Highly recommend.

Took Math262 over the winter. Calc 2 is arguably the most difficult calculus and many professors make this the weed out math class. Not Professor Duong. She could have made the test problems ungodly complicated, but she didn't. Clear grading style and concise homework assignments

Super easy stats class. Go to the lectures if you don't wanna play catch-up, but if you have her for zoom, she records them anyway and organizes them by chapter.
