This prof. is amazing. She is so cute and nice. Very helpful, willing to teach, very dedicated. She makes the class interesting, she help me to decide that I want really want to be in SMG.

Not only is she one of the nicest ladies I've ever met, but very intelligent as well. Definitely on the harder side of fair. She did go to BC however so I'm glad I didn't have her during the beanpot. Great professor.

always hyper and cheerful! although sometimes after listening to her i realize she didn't talk about much at all and not too clearly about concepts either, if i analyze her logic and exactly what she is trying to say, she actually makes really good points about real life marketing and what it's abt.

Wonderful woman, and even though she doesn't always seem it, she is smart. She is HORRIBLE with numbers though. If you're patient with her through her making math mistakes every class, than she's pretty good.

McGinnis was a good discussion leader who made each class interesting and informative. However,she is a very hard grader and sometimes unclear in what she is looking for. She places alot of emphasis on participation as well.

McGinnis was a pretty good discussion professor. Shes definitely more of a marketing teacher than a finance, accounting, etc. teacher. Shes horrible with accounting. On presentations she loves really good, eye-catching, visuals. She's extremely upbeat and willing to help out if you go to her outside of class. Kind of a hard grader though.

She is tremendously funny and keeps the dry accounting stuff related back to how we can use it in the real business world. Really care about the students.

This woman is off the walls crazy. She is so random, but what do you expect when you have 6 yr old twins and are like 47 years old! she lives off of caffeine, and for a MK prof, she is great, but sometimes a little out of the loop with current events. Get on her good side and you are in! Also a successful career woman.

Hilarious. Very energetic and engaging. Not very good with numbers though. Great teacher for SM299 discussion. Grades are curved and it is possible to get a good grade.

She is so energetic, and does her best to make sure we understand the material. Towards the end, the discussions started to get a little bit boring, but she did try so hard as a teacher. Whatever people say about 299...don't confuse a lot of work with being hard.

She was a very nice woman with a ton of energy. Always had funny stories and was genuinely pleasant to be around. Grading was a little too tough at times, and didnt seem to make sense at others.

Professior McGinnis is one of the nicest teachers I've ever had. She genuinely cares for her students and wants to help them do well. Definitely take notes, go to her office hours, and REVIEW the tests over with her after you get them back. She gives you good tips and hints to pass those terrible SM 131 Exams

McGinnis links the course concepts into a story and applies them to business examples so we know how to begin thinking strategically. Don't miss class and she will help you with anything.

If you are taking SM131 pick McGinnis for your discussion professor! She is sooo nice and will always answer questions. This class was content heavy but she made it my favorite class. McGinnis graded presentations very fairly. She made the transition to virtual very easy. She always accepted suggestions from students on how to improve things.

McGinnis is awesome marketing, really knows her stuff. Really helpful with team project, good at helping us connect marketing to other classes for project. Lectures are usually entertaining and informative, good real life stories.

Professor McGinnis is a solid choice for SM131. She is so caring and makes SM131 (which tends to be intense and competitive) so much more welcoming and more fun. She is very easy to talk to and facilitates a great discussion. She's the BEST! Take her!!!

Professor McGinnis is the sweetest woman ever. SM131 is a strenuous class but her guidance really got me through it. She would always make time for her students outside of class and made sure everyone who wanted it got help. She does anything in her power to make sure her students succeed but you need to reach out in order for that to happen.

One of the best professors I've had at BU. Grades presentations with extensive feedback and justifications. She teaches with energy and is very engaging. Wants students to succeed. Exams are very difficult (not her doing), did her best to explain tough-to-grasp concept. Very available outside of class. Take 131 with McGinnis, it is a real treat!!!!

McGinnis really cares about her students and creating a welcoming classroom community. The topics for the course are not the most interesting, but she keeps the discussion sections very engaging. Wish feedback on assignments was given more promptly but it is detailed and helpful. Good choice for SM131.

I'm a Junior now and still find myself going back to talk to her. Feedback was a bit delayed and lectures weren't very engaging, but mostly due to the class structure designed by QST. She's super caring and available outside of class though + helped me more than any other advisor/professor, I genuinely wouldn't be where I am without her!!

The lectures are asynchronous, but the discussions during the week are mandatory. Professor McGinnis is the sweetest person I've ever met, and her office hours help if you're having trouble with the material. She is also very understanding of conflicts, so communication is key. However, when it comes to presentations, she is a tough grader.

Overall solid professor, made lectures as fun as possible. SM131 is on its own, a difficult and tedious class, and I feel like Professor McGinnis did a great job at the lecture and discussion part, that being said you have to do a lot of self-study but as I said that is the nature of SM131.

Prof. McGinnis is my first and favorite QST professor. She is such a nice and caring lady. She always cheers me up and makes me feel warm. Sometimes, her teaching could be confusing, but she is a good professor. Trust me, I got 74 on Exam 1 and 94 on Exam 2, and I give credit to her. If you can only choose G sections, choose her.

I loved Prof McGinnis! SM131 is pretty overwhelming as a class, just because of the amount and time and preparation outside of class is necessary. However, McGinnis' lectures were really engaging, and it was clear that she loves to teach and truly cares about her students. Also: do the practice quizzes at the end of each unit!!!

Professor McGinnis is an absolute sweetheart! She is so dedicated to what she is teaching and she is always willing to answer questions you might have. Additionally, she is always willing to meet with you if you have specific questions. Overall, though she is a tough grader, she really cares about her students.

Professor McGinnis was such a bubbly person. Although, I didn't like SM131, she made it fun to learn from. She'll always be willing to answer questions and she goes into depth about it. Though she's a tough grader, you should go to her OH or email her questions and she'll be willing to explain and help you any way possible. Take her if you want fun

Professor McGinnis is so kind and approachable and genuinely cares about her students and their success. She has good jokes and is a little slow with technology, but I would still recommend taking her because she makes SM131 less daunting. She gives thorough feedback on projects and tests and will answer any questions. She is very encouraging.
