She is an easy going english teacher, but she lacks clarity in some assignments. The good part about her class, is that she assigns very little homework and papers. She reminds me of a high school english teacher. With little effort put into her class, one can pass. I would recommend her if you want to stay away from being overwhelmed with work.

She lets you buy old edition book for cheaper or look up the stories from the book online save $$! Very understanding professor but don't take advantage of her! ALWAYS replies asap to any emails with questions! The class is more fun when you know the material for in class discussions. Do the assigned work and everything will make sense.

Prof. Chakrabarti expected us to complete our homework and assignments so that we were learning the material. All that we did was to prepare us for the next class's discussion. It was important that we took the time and effort to produce acceptable papers and tests so that she could give us helpful and fair comments. If you cared, you learned.

I had Pinki for ENG 100 and enjoyed her class so much, I made sure I was in her class for ENG 112. She loves literature, and helps her students understand even the most complex writing; i.e .Shakespeare. I would definitely recommend taking her course.

She is the kind of teacher that wants her students to succeed. What I liked about her class was, she did NOT give deadlines. You were able to turn things in on your time.

If you want to take ENG 100 or 112, she is your professor. Do not hesitate. You are going to love this woman. She is very passionate about teaching, she cares about her students; she says she is "On Call 24 hrs", and that is true. I am taking higher level English classes because she taught me so much. Mrs. Chakrabartis class is a genuinely good English class where you will learn a lot and be able to improve your writing. There will be lots of writing, lots of reading, and the occasional pop quiz. She is lenient when it comes to hanging things in, but dont make a habit of it. If you work hard and put in effort she will work with you as well.

Professor Chakrabarti turned out to be one of my favorite professors for the semester. I have always struggled with correct punctuation and using correct grammar. After taking this class with prof Chakrabarti my writing significantly and noticeably improved, I attribute this to Pinki and her honest grading and feedback on each essay I worked on.
