very understanding if you have emergencies

Very nice lady. Interesting lectures, especially when she uses the accent. Good tests and explains whatever you want her to.
great teacher just read and take notes just like that on the test. Note: Don't get up and leave early or come in late she hates that.
you dont have to take the best notes or read the book, but yoou better know the study guide, itll save you alot of studying. she's a nice lady though, just know the study guide. you wont breeze through for and A. you gotta know your stuff
She is the nicest teacher I've ever had!
Economics .. VERY GREATTTTT TEACHER
seems strict on the first day, but probably just for impressions. she's a pretty good lecturer though boring at times. very nice and willing to help if you have any problems. tests are okay, study guide and slides helps alot.
kinda hard to follow, but overall a good teacher and she's a very nice lady
nice teacher, gotta know your stuff if you want an A, she gives extra credit when most of the class don't show up, she curves all the tests, *NOTE don't get up and leave in the middle of class
Strengths I had Dr. Hardee for ECON 3334. Dr.Hardee is one of the nicest instructors a student could have. This was her first time teaching the class, so it was a learning experience for her also. The class consisted of three exams worth 20% each and a cummulative final worth 35%. Her exams were ve
Classes were AWFULLY boring. used powerpoint slides from the book (that was only used for one semester). Test questions were way too difficult to figure out because she didn't explain the material to a level where everyone could understand.
Nice lady, boring lectures. 4 tests, drops lowest, and a final. Read the chapters and be sure to understand it early. 5 page extra credit due on final, adds 5 pts to final average ONLY IF you do it right. Pray far a dumb class, cus she doesn't curve her smart classes. good luck!
She reads powerpoint slides word to word which are on Webct. Classes are very boring. she doesnt mind if you fall sleep though! no need to attend..just show up for exam review. no need to buy the book either. 4 exams are based on slides, she drops lowest. didnt really learn anything new.
Nice teacher, just really boring. No need to go to class if you have the notes and show up for the review before the test. Drops three homework grades and a test. Her tests are closely resemble the departmental final. Offers an extra credit paper too.
Her class is very very boring, no need to attend class, just make sure you go over the chapters. I think her tests are pretty hard. I failed the first two tests and then I really worked my ass off to study the tests. I did good on the last two tests and I did the paper. I got a A-in her class but I think I spent too much time studying for this clas
Money and Banking. Has her doctorate degree. Knows material too well it is hard to learn. Find other sources to comensate lectures. She has the MOST difficult tests I've ever taken. Do all hw assin. and do well because tests are HARD. Offers x-tra credit paper. Do it in order to pass class. Very nice teacher and helpful if you need it. Good Luck!
I'm in her macroeconomics class right now, and it's been a really easy class for me this semester. The tests are pretty straight forward, gave us a small curve for all the tests. I do, though, always fall asleep in her class, her voice is incredibly monotone, and there is absolutely no need to attend her lectures, trust me. Just boring, yet easy.
boring class. but than again.. it's just the subject. umm not that bad of a teacher.. but u gotta know wat's goin on. lotta note taking. it's ok.
Tests are HARD! Second time I have chosen a class she has taught and she is consistent with the hard testing. Study in class quizzes and major points in the book and I think you will do fine. I didn't have the book this semester... I surely paid for that!
Very hard and boring class. The tests contain much more information than is gone over in class. I didn't get the minimum C so I have to take it again and will NOT be taking it with her again.
She really tries and connects with the student. test are HARD! Maybe its just macro all around, but the test were trickkkky to me. Gives curves but not much, and yeah. I studied more for this class than for Calculus 2. Maybe its just me ;p
took her in FALL 06!!! test are HARD! than again.. it can be just the subject! lotta note taking! not bad of a teacher.. but gotta know wats goin on in class!!! i prefer u read the chapters!!!
Great professor! The tests are a little difficult, but she tells you exactly how to study for them. She is very understanding and realizes that you are taking other classes too. She pushes assignment due dates back frequently :) Attendance is not mandatory, but she notices and gives extra credit points for attending. Highly recommend this professor
Very good professor! always willing to help, and tests are very easy if you read the textbook.
She is a great teacher, but hard material! Read the text and u'll be fine, (online text) she went over a lot of good information. She is strict but knows her stuff. Would take again.
She is nice, but lectures are not very helpful. Aplia helps, plus she drops your lowest test grade out of 3 tests.
Honestly, I though I was going to struggle in this class, but it turns out that she's actually a really good teacher. For me, aplia didn't really help, but her lecture notes did. If you grasp the basic concept, then you'll do fine on her tests (3 tests, drops lowest). Don't expect yourself to get an A without putting any effort.
Easy class, easy teacher. 3 all multiple choice tests, drops lowest...no reason to get lower than a B if you understand the main concepts. Im an Econ major so it was really interesting material, but reading the book sections/chapter before you go over it in lecture is a fool proof method of getting an easy A! (Trust me, its how I got mine.)
Not a blowoff class! Its significantly more difficult than your high school economics class. But Hardee is a nice teacher, who goes over a lot in lecture (though you could really just read it off the book). Online homeworks are a pain, but its a manageable class if you try. Read the book, do the homeworks, and study for tests, and you can make an A
good teacher. hard tests but a nice teacher. easy assignments
She is an OK professor, but she is very rude to students. She does go extremely fast and it is very hard to keep up with her but she will let you know she doesn't care. I would never take her again!
Organized lecures, very easy to understand, fielded questions from students during class and offered further explanation. Limited inclusion of personal opinion, but enough comments to make it interesting. Great review information, reminders about homework due dates. Extra credit paper option. Sincerely wants students to do well.
Economics is HARD! Ms Hardee makes it at least somewhat interesting with her funny rants about how she feels as an economist. You should really go to class because the subject is difficult, and do the homework to help boost your grade for the cursed final.
you have to use an online book for this class, aplia, honestly I didnt care for aplia that much, but her test do not really come from that site, she gives out reviews before the test and tells you what to study for, she drops lowest scoring test.
She's not bad! Macro is hard subject to understand overall! i read the book back to back to understand each chapters! she does drop a test grade! bonus points given out on random days for attendance! She's not that hard but you will have to study very hard and pay attention!
the aplia assignments are online and its h.w.! its hard! she does drop 4 lowest grade on the aplia assignment.
Shes an ok teacher. Has a few favorites that look like they could be her grandchildren. Tries to be nice and sometimes is. As for the work, the test are somewhat difficult so you have to study hard, the homework kinda the same. Would NOT recommend her AT ALL!!
Easy class. The lectures will clarify everything you don't get from the book. I was slightly annoyed that the entire class was taught from the conservative Austrian school perspective, just as Micro was, but luckily my education didn't stop here. I got kind of tired of hearing her whine about big government and socialism. *shrug*
She's okay. Her southern accent can throw you off sometimes...but she's nice. Really hard class...have to study REALLY HARD to pass the test...if you don't try at all there is still a possibility that you can pass with a C. Overall, don't really recommend...find a better teacher.
HARDDD CLASS. But a really good teacher. She tries really hard to have you understand the concepts. She's pretty funny too, i like her sarcasm. BUT, if you don't put in effort for this class i guarantee you you will fail. FAIL. K.
class is hard in general but she is an okay teacher. print out the powerpoints and GO to class!! she will randomly check roll and use it as extra credit. 3 tests & a final. also an extra credit paper. DO IT! it moved me from a B- to a B :)
Dr. Hardee is one of the best econ professors I've had. The class itself may pose difficult, but you can always get help from Dr. Hardee. Tests require a good amount of studying. Recommendation: always read the book for aplia assignments and read the book to prepare for tests. 3 tests, and she drops the lowest one, and also a final. Made a B!!
she's nice likes to help. make sure to keep up with notes, homework. and you'll be fine
Ok 3 Tests' One will be DROPPED. Also Theirs Two APLIA assignments every week. This course is not an EASY course. The Final is EXTREMELY HARD. I would not SUGGEST this course if your doing other time consuming classes. Hardee is very nice but This class is not easy. I dont really like her teaching style, because its not CLEAR.
Very nice lady who's very knowledgeable of what she's teaching. She's willing to help you if you cannot understand certain concepts. Her teaching style is essentially just notes from a powerpoint everyday but she is very approachable for all questions. Multiple homework assignments each week, 3 tests, 1 really large departmental final.
Mrs. Hardee's class is amazing. I learned so much from it. As long as you read, you will be able to understand her lectures. It's extremely intriguing. She is -this close- on making me change my major to economics. For her exams, come to class for the review. Definitely! Everything she says is on the test, will be on the test.
Wonderful teacher! Highly recommended! ALWAYS ATTEND HER TEST REVIEWS! I did not attend one of the reviews and made a D (she drops the lowest exam grade). I made As on the other exams. I thoroughly enjoyed her class - she's very knowledgeable and very helpful. Don't be afraid to email or ask questions - she will help you.
Mrs Hardees class is not the easiest econ class . She makes class interesting but at the same time you must keep up. Lots of online hw and the exams are difficult if you dont read.
Dr. Hardee's class is not the easiest however, she is a very good instructor and truly cares about her students. Very helpful. Exams are multiple choice. If you study and read the assigned readings you should be fine. I wish she taught Micro because I really enjoyed her class.
Hardee is a very nice lady, but class isn't too easy. Homeworks about twice a week, 3 tests (get harder towards the end), and extra credit paper. You can pass this class if you put effort in it. Don't expect an easy A. Hardee does a good job teaching it with the printable power points, but sometimes gets a little boring with her silly accent...
She is a really good professor, and if you show up for class and take notes, you should have no trouble on the tests. She drops one test grade, and 4 homework grades and offers an extra credit paper. I highly recommend her for macroeconomics. She is knowledgable on the subject and makes funny side comments.
Economics is tough and it takes a good professor to teach it in laymen terms to students.Hardee is a great teacher who generally cares about her students.she appreciates hard workers and gives extra points for coming to class.3 tests and a final.lowest grade dropped.extra credit paper. it will take effort on your part. take her! :)
3 tests, she drops the lowest one. Her tests follow her notes and the book, and she has quizzes over the chapters (not for a grade) that are worded like the tests and are good practice problems. I thoroughly enjoyed her class, very articulate and helpful. Would take her again if I could.
If you are not interested in Econ, she will make you interested. Nice way of teaching, she is funny, and she makes you feel that it is a mom and son relation not a professor and student. I highly recommend her.
I love her! She really knows her stuff and you can tell she likes to teach it. She basically goes over PowerPoints and whenever we finished a chapter, she'd always give sample exam questions. Those were super helpful. I do recommend to read the book because it explains in more detail. Overall, I'd take her again. Almost an easy A.
Very nice. Like most economic teachers boring but funny sometimes. She has true school spirit. Her tests are ok as long as you read the book you should be ok. Out of 10 i give her a 9.
Dont take her. Confusing, and her tests are REALLY HARD. The review sessions are useless.
I love her! She teaches economics in a way that everyone can understand. The class is not a blowoff class. Go to every class and review sessions they help. After every chapter she gives sample exam questions and a review before the test. Answer her questions she asks in class you get extra credit. Take her!
There are 3 exams plus a final. The lowest exam gets dropped. She also give out bonus points for attending classes on certain days. Make sure you do well on the homework and get them in on time. She also gives an extra credit paper. She makes the class interesting and wants all her students to do well. I highly recommend her.
I highly recommend her.She is nice and has a unique sense of humor. Key to earn an A: 1)read the book and take notes for each chapter 2)Do all the homeworks 3)For the tests, read chapter notes, go over her power points, make a sheet with all the formulas (memorize) 4)Make sure to mark the questions she says will be on the final. You will see them.
For starters, she is a very nice professor. But if you're looking for an A, DO NOT take her class. Her tests are not easy. If you want to do well, study at least 4 or 5 days before the tests. Read the book! You have to read the book! Which will take at least one to two hours to finish. Probably 1 or 2 questions from the quizzes. STUDY STUDY STUDY!
Tests are very difficult, far more difficult that you'd think so if you take her be ready. She is friendly and her lectures are alright, but I wouldn't take her class again.
Very positive and has a sense of humor. However, her tests were difficult and her test reviews were of little to no help. Read the book religiously.
Okay guys, if you think this is hard just because you did not study enough. You do not need to read books a lot. All you need to review are power points and review sheets. She has bonus and plz do your homework. 3 tests and drop the lowest one. Aplia quizzes and drop 4 lowest scores. Final exam is gonna be huge. Study hard.
I actually really enjoyed her class! It helps to attend because she gives quizzes ( not for a grade) that you can use to study for exams. She's nice and wants you to do well.
The class itself is fairly simple. The tests, however, tend to be tricky at times. You have to read the book if you want to do well.
This class is not difficult, but a large portion of it is self-taught. You have to put in the work in order to get a good grade. This class is under the A A- system, so in order to get an A you must receive a grade of a 94 and above. Attendance is not mandatory, but I would go on review days. If you want an A, study the book and memorize formulas.
Your grade reflects the amount of work you put into this class. People who complained about her class are the same people who expect to get an A with minimal effort. Seriously guys, if you expect to get through college by taking the easy way out, you are in for disappointment. This class is easy when you realize your grade reflects your effort.
I loved this class. She looks mean but end up being funny and really easy to learn from. The class does require you to study and do online assignments but they are easy. Insist on students talking to her about grades, and she will happily let you know what needs to be done for you to pass. I would surely take her class again!
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! Shes very encouraging and shes always available in her office. READ READ READ!!! Macroeconomics is no ones punk trust me this was my second time retaking it. TAKE HER!!!!
How I ended with a 98 in her class: Print out her powerpoint notes before lectures. Make sure your APLIA (online homework) grades are 95-100 every time, she drops the 4 lowest. Read the textbook (1-2 questions generate from reading the book) and memorize the formulas. Every test aim to only miss 3-4 questions, she drops the lowest one. Easy class!!
My study habits that got me and A: Read the chapter, took notes in class, studied the chapter through reading and applying the notes hand in hand, memorize the formulas. She has exam reviews which are generally helpful. ATTEND ALL VERBAL REVIEW SESSIONS (she gives out gimme questions). This class is a test of how well you think, so study well!
Overall, Professor Hardee prepared me the most for the departmental final in comparison to my friends who took different professors. She has been teaching here for quite some time, therefore her experience is hard to beat. Do her assignments, read the chapters, and study. This class is simple when you can understand your study habits. Easy A!!!
Don't expect this to be an easy A class. If you want the A, you have to learn the material. She is not a hard teacher, her expectations are clear from the first day of class. Macroeconomics in general is a conceptual and analytical subject, therefore it is solely your responsibility to grasp! Put the effort, then you get an A. I highly recommend!
She's rough and the lectures go on and on but she does give you a verbal test review before the test. But the class is really tough and the final is really hard!
The class grade came only from tests and homework. I don't think many students got A's, the material is confusing and difficult
I feel as though economics is something you need to learn outside of class by self-reading or reviewing. Aplia homework is a must (very easy). The exams are a bit hard, but you really just have to study the review and the pop quizzes. She calls students out in class for things, but besides that, she tries her best to make the lectures clear cut
This is a very difficult class if you're not majoring in economics. Economics isn't my strong suit, even though I got an A in high school AP Macro, and I found this class to be exceptionally difficult. That said, Hardee is lighter on her grading of the Aplia hws than the other 2305 profs. The tests are what make it very difficult.
Prof Hardee allowed an extra credit essay, which I did. She said in class several times that we would be able to turn it in up until the last day of class for reduced points. I tried turning it in on the last day and she straight up said no. she hates me because i made As on all her exam but never went to class. I know students who cheated.
Show up to class. Listen closely and do your homework for extra practice. A lot of information but an intro class so it is not that bad. Material learned in class is on test even the meaningless stuff like random facts. Class builds up so get it on your first try so you are not stuck at the final. Interesting Professor and normal college level exp.
Dr. Hardee loves teaching about money & banking. The course has 3 exams, Aplia HW due every week (easy), and a final exam. PowerPoints are based off the book. She also tells you what's going to be on exams using practice questions in class, so attendance is a must. Reviews exams after & tells you which questionstopics will be on final.
She's terrible!!! Very nice lady who loves teaching economics but she is a terrible professor. I have a 3.8 GPA and will most likely not receive an A in her class unless I make a really high A. I am not majoring in Economics, thus this material is very foreign to me. She only read off the powerpoint. AND SHE READS FAST!
Prof. Hardee is AWESOME! Yes her subject material is tough, duh people you're in college and Economics is hard. Her tests are all multiple choice except her 3rd(which you have to memorize a passage for). She tells you what's going to be on the test. Great TEACHER, funny, class was interesting! Big Plus: let's you use old Textbook editions(less $).
There are 3 tests and a final. she drops one test. there's an extra credit paper 5 pgs long over a book. this class is more conceptual than microeco, so read over the chaps before each class. it will be VERY less confusing if u do. she uses cengage for her hw n takes the highest attempt (better than the other macro teachers)attend every class
It's very clear that she loves economics and her job, however most of the time that she's teaching she talks about very professional matters that aren't even related to the material. she reads off the powerpoint and reads VERY FAST, don't even take out a pencil to take notes because you won't have time to get it down. expect to learn from the book!
Professor Hardee is a nice lady! However, she expects you going in knowing economics so this class is difficult. You must read before in order to understand what she is talking about. Another think is that she only reads off her power points which is useless because is not on the test. Lastly, test HARD you don't know whats on it (scattered)
Professor Hardee is awesome. I've taken her for two different classes and got an A in one and a B+ in the other. Her lectures are a little long, but she's pretty funny so she keeps it interesting. Would recommend taking any class she teaches.
It's so weird, when I take a midterm, its difficult; when she goes over it and I reflect on it, the questions seem so easy. I want to turn back time. Study well and you'll be able to pass this class. The sample exam questions she goes over are really helpful as they are similar to what you should expect to see on exam/midterm
She is the best ECON teacher ever!!! Her lectures are clear and the examples are pretty easy to know. Make sure you take notes during class time! Notes are VERY IMPORTANT! 3 exams and a department final in the semester, tests are not that hard if you learn all the materials she provided. She also has a sample question after each lecture, useful!!!
Dr. Hardee is a good professor. Unfortunately, her lectures do not prepare you for tests. I rarely went to class, instead focusing my time on the book and the aplia website. To be clear, her lectures are thoughtful and engaging, they just don't spend enough time on test concepts.
Polly will really entertain you in class, shes very humorous and keeps it real. She's from louisiana so don't mess with her. Exams are very challenging. She's better than other professors because of how she chooses your highest grade on aplia hws not just the avg. of the attempts. Just take the time to study and you'll make a decent grade.
Dr. Hardee is a phenomenal professor! Her lectures follow the text, but you'll want to be sure to attend class. She is thorough and coherent when teaching the material and provides practice problems. She also verbally emphasizes what you'll need to know for the tests. Truly wants everyone to do well! I highly recommend her class!
Syllabus provides everything that will be expected. 4 exams with with the most weight going to the comprehensive final. Homework is done in Aplia. Optional Extra Credit paper. Attendance is necessary to earn extra points towards exams. Exam consist of pure MC except for only one that has short answer. Take if you excel at MC if not look elsewhere.
She has her own political views, but if you can just ignore that. She is a really great teacher. She is very understanding and gives sample test questions almost everyday. You can use these questions to study for the real test and she tells you what topics will be on the final. She lets you keep old test so you can use them to study for the final.
Great and funny teacher. Her political views line up with economic principles. So the previous rating is uneducated on that. This is a great professor. You won't find a better ECON professor. She treats you like an adult until you act like a kid. Take this class if you want to learn some truth and not just teachings that line up with your views.
Professor Hardee is an awesome professor. It is important to go to class because she will tell you what is on the exams from the lectures and ppts. The test are the questions she has you study. You will actually learn alot in this class. I recommend recording the lectures and listen to them bc everything on exam she goes over in lectures.
Would highly recommed this professor. She's funny and pretty laid back. The class isn't that difficult and attendance isn't really mandatory. If you don't go to class just make sure you read the chapters and take good notes. You are going to need them when studying for the final.
She has past experience with this. she just does not go about it the proper way and expect you to have some prior knowledge of this. the test are harder than it really should be. little to no extra credit. take someone else that not her.
test are more difficult than homeworks. extra credit of 1.5 points.
Homework about twice a week and 4 Tests. She speaks painfully slow which makes the classes hard to sit through. The bright side of that is you have enough time to keep up with the material. Still, felt more comfortable learning from the book. STUDY HARD for the tests. Gives reviews so take advantage of them! Be ready to give your full attention.
She's a fair honest teacher. Go to class take notes and do the work you'll be fine. Best part is no casa take the test in class she devotes time to go over the test before and after. If you listen she'll let you in on a lot of what exactly to study or what's on the test. Overall awesome professor best I've had at uh so far.
NO. STAY AWAY!! She didn't curve exams OR the final class grade (While other teachers did) and her exams are much harder then they should be. 85% of your grade is exams and 15% is homework. She gives 1% of extra credit total. She makes rude remarks to students during class and will call you out for doing nothing. First class where RMP did me wrong.
Stay away from this professor. Every other professor curved their class and she did not. Exams are extremely difficult and only 1% extra credit, which is nothing. I studied heavy for this class and did the extra credit and was not happy. Also makes rude remarks to students in her class
The best choice out of the other economics professors for this course. Her review sessions are very helpful and tests are in class! but she does not curve the tests which was disappointing. If you show up to class and she recognizes your face she will probably curve your final grade if you are on the border.
Not sure why people complain, she is the best! Study the powerpoints and the handouts and you'll be fine. She is very sweet too.. the only problem was that you had to get a 94 to get an A. If you show up to class she will recognize your face and that might help you. Take her!
Dr Hardee isn't the worst professor UH has to offer, but she just reads off power points from the textbook publisher. She's sweet, but a little old school and unless you're super ready to study economics, you probably will not get your desired grade given that you have to have at least a 94 to receive an A.
Pretty easy class, it's nice not to have to go as all of the course material is easily accessible online. There is no outside of class help though, so if you have questions, go to class to ask them. Dr. Hardee also doesn't email. I wish more things were uploaded to blackboard, but it's pretty easy to learn all the course material from the homework
Her lectures were helpful she said what u need to know for the tests so dont skip! Just skimmed over the textbook and used ppts/hw for studying. She explains the concepts well. She barely curves but the tests are honestly pretty simple if u study. Drops lowest midterm grade. You get the chance for 3 extra credit points! Ended with a 97.98
Very short (compared to other professors) homeworks on a weekly basis (15%). 3 tests (1 dropped) for 27.5% each and a comprehensive final for 30%. Up to 4 final grade points extra credit. Barely attended 1/3 of the lectures and just read over the reviews and made a B in the class. Lectures are helpful (study sample exam questions).
Very kind old lady who is passionate about Macro. Reads off of the PowerPoint, but does a good job of reinforcing the info using more elaborate explanations and "quizzes" you do in class (no grade). 3 tests, lowest dropped, all in class. HW each week online. I went to lecture and took notes but didn't read the book, still got an A.
She does read directly off the slides, but its good to go to class for her practice quizzes since she explains them. If you dislike going to class the book is easy to read. Provides study guides for exams, top 2/3 scores are used for final grade (27.5% each). Weekly homeworks (15%). Final exam (30%). Provides a 3% extra credit essay (optional).
She reads straight off the PowerPoint. Her class is mostly based off exams. Be wary if you attend class (pay attention) because she'll call you out for talking/electronics. Her exams are pretty straightforward: study the PowerPoint, quizzes, and reviews. Gives extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Hardee is bright, funny, and kind. Her class is fairly easy if you study the powerpoints and in class lecture notes a lot. Reading the book is only necessary for a few of the harder concepts. The class is fun and engaging, especially if you have a strong interest in banking.
Her class is a bit challenging, but as long as you attend lectures, she will drop hints at what to expect on the tests. Complete her sample exam questions to get a better idea of what will be on the tests. Nice lady, she often gives extra credit points when attendance is low, so take advantage of that.
Dr. Hardee is a great professor, although her lectures can be boring. She really cares that students pass her class, and everything is very straightforward! No surprises exam-wise. Do the online homework assignments, and you'll do well.
85% of grade is based on exams, 15% on hw. her lectures are boring and attendance is not mandatory.
She is a nice woman, except her teaching skills are poor. You have to try REALLY hard to follow along and understand her lectures because she just reads off of the slides and the tests are so hard. Lectures are extremely boring and it's so hard to follow along with all of the content. I would take the class at HCC if you can.
Dr. Hardee is an excellent professor. She knows what she's talking about and she cares about her students. Her lectures are based off on powerpoint presentations. Most of the grade comes from tests but if you take notes and do the hw online, they will be easy to solve. She gives extra credit regularly. I really enjoyed taking her class.
This class was actually the worst. Her lectures are completely pointless and the homework assignments do not apply to the exams at all. I got my lowest exam grades in my entire three years in college from this course. If you can take another professor, DO IT! She is a sweet elderly lady, but in my opinion she should not be teaching anymore.
You pretty much have to self-teach since she reads off the slides. She's nice but she doesn't teach which shows on the test scores. 3 exams, drops 1, 30% final, 15% hw and an extra credit paper. I wouldn't take again just bc I feel like I didn't learn anything, I just memorized the reviews as best I could. I still know nothing abt econ to this day
I would recommend the professor, she's patient and caring towards her students. And if you remember the powerpoints you can easily pass the class. Attendance isnt mandatory but I recommend going bc she provides a number of questions that are similar to the ones on the test and gives extra credit to some students who answer her questions in class.
Professor Hardees class is not an easy A. However, the material isnt very difficult and though her lectures can seem boring at times, she often emphasizes what to look for on the test. Attendance is not required, but she will give a bonus point (at random) for attendance before each exam and offer 3 EC opportunities to boost your overall grade.
Definitely not an easy A. If you're willing to study notes and textbook chapters for a week before each test then u can do pretty well in the class . I skipped all lectures and only studied online textbook and reviews and i finished with an A. Oh yeah an A is a 94 which is really annoying . also lectures are kinda uninteresting . Good luck .
She is a very kind and funny lady. But she will call you out for talking/being on your phone. Economics is pretty tricky to understand and the lectures are boring. I had to study A LOT and just barley managed to get B's on the exams.
Attendance is called on some days randomly for bonus points. If economics isn't your strong suit I wouldn't recommend because her lectures are kind of confusing and her drawings are hard to read and understand. She is nice and helpful, but the class was hard.
She has a great sense of humor, is really sweet, and actually cares about student success. What helped me in this class was studying and going over her powerpoints. The only drawback is that there are few grades that account to your overall but nothing is too hard. She gives extra credit if you attend lectures and answer lecture questions.
During the beginning of the fall semester, I really enjoyed her for the first week since she actually did teach. However, throughout the rest of the semester, she would talk about her life (which I really did not care) and I had to resort to using the online textbook and practice tests online. At least she'll give you extra credit.
She's a very good choice and is very caring. She is like a mom and was honestly great throughout the whole semester. The tests are difficult but if you study you should be fine.
During lectures she doesnt explain the content well, reads straight off the powerpoint, and gets off topic and talks about irrelevant things. Youre better off teaching yourself. If you study at least a week before the tests you'll do well. Didnt enjoy going to class but she does often tell you in class whats going to be on the tests.
I was unsure of this class at first, but Professor Hardee really grew on me. Class was heavily exam based, but she provided great examples of what would be on the exams , so I did better than expected. Class consisted of online homework , 3 exams with one dropped , and the final.
Hardee is probably the best choice for Macro. This class is really a self-study class. I highly recommend reading the chapters in the textbook (they're not too long) but if you can't, review the PowerPoint slides. Do the practice assignments on Cengage (they're harder than the exams) and review the sample exam questions. this should get you an A.
Let' start with the toughest part of the class. The exams! They are much harder than expected... Her study guides are completely useless and she really sucks at lecturing. Avoid taking her and pick a professor that cares and want you to do well!
This class is awful! Her exams are harder than whats taught in class. Take a different professor!
3 test make up your entire grade boring lectures
Tests are more difficult than the homework and some are worded weird. read the textbook for a better chance of passing. I took this class online, and it sucked because we had to take tests on Lockdown Browser. She did not let students use scratch paper, which made it difficult to do the math problems. Lectures are boring but they're mandatory.
This course itself has a lot of information, I don't think she did much to accommodate students in a pandemic. She's sweet, fair and honest. In my experience she didn't do anything for me to say take her again, but she hasn't done anything for me to say not to take her again. Lectures are boring and very mono-tone, though.
She was a very fair and clear about her expectations. Do not expect to get any sympathy from her. She is nice and wants you to pass but you have to come ready to work. Do not expect a huge curve.
Please I am begging you never have Hardee as a professor of yours. She will single handedly ruin your GPA. Take macro or micro at a community college. Don't be stupid like me.
Professor Hardee is very monotone during her lectures and for me, it was difficult to learn from her. I learned the material by reading through the textbook and using sample questions to understand the material. if you cant learn from her lectures then you will have to teach yourself. I do not recommend her if you are an auditory learner.
