Wonderful teacher, she really enjoys what she does, made me look forward to class. Very structured, no surprises, you know what will be on test at all times. Just ashame she doesnt' teach 211.

Dr. Shores is very helpful with students that are making the effort. She is Indian so she can be difficult to understand at times. This is a VERY HARD and INTENSE class, so be prepared! She gives an extrodinary amount of tests!

She is a great teacher!!! Sometimes it can get confusing with what she is trying to explain....she uses pp notes and most all tests come straight from pp and worksheets!!! I took 210 with her and 211 and made a B+ in both!!!

This teacher is amazing! When i first started the class i thought there was no hope for me to learn anatomy. haha...but she proved me wrong! I had a lot of fun even though it was super hard subject to learn no matter what teacher you have. I found that she was really helpful outside of class and she gets your tests back to you really quick.

One of my fave professors... I wish that I could have her for more classes! She is very helpful if you ask her outside of class, & she has a super-sweet personality. This is a difficult class (Level 2 of A & P), but as long as you actually show up to class, study, take notes on her handout notes, and do the work you're supposed to, you'll do fine.

If you enjoy having a teacher that challenges you in a good way and actually teaches you something about the course that you retain - take Prof. Shores for A&P. She is absolutely amazing and by far one of my favorite teachers that I've ever had. She is sincere with her students and passionate about biology.

I looooovvveee Dr. Shores! Took her for 210 and now 211. She makes the lectures as interesting as she can and is pretty funny. She tests straight from her notes :) People complain that she's too hard....Biology is a hard subject, duh! She's the best!

Extremely difficult material, but Dr. Shores is a great teacher who cares about her students. Her door is always open and she will answer any questions that you have. You must spend alot of time reading the textbook and studying her power points in order to do well. She is a fabulous teacher!

Dr. Shores is a wonderful instructor. This is a hard class, but if you have questions or need extra help, she will be there for you. All you have to do is ask. You have to do the assignments she gives. It may be tie consuming but your test grades will show if you did them or not.

Dr. Shores is the best A&P teacher I have ever had. She knows the material very well and is very willing to help out any student. A&P is definitely a class you have to study for but she makes you want to learn and do well in her class. She is also very funny and jokes around with the class. GET DR SHORES!!!!!!!

I enjoyed taking this class with Dr. Shores. She is very knowledgeable and straight forward. This subject is taught via lab and lecture and most students forget that it's really two classes, not one! You must study for two classes. I made a 99 which made for A lot of hard work and personal sacrifice. She is a wonderful person and great instructor.

Dr. Shores is amazing! She is very interactive and is always willing to explain things if you don't understand them. This is a hard class, but she makes learning fun and interesting. She knows her material inside and out. Her study guides give a huge heads-up as to what will be covered on the tests. Highly recommend!!!!

Dr. Shores is very helpful. The class is not an easy one. She will focus on information that's needed to study for exams. Labs are pretty easy. Lecture requires reading the material and paying attention in class. I'd recommend her.

Dr. Shores is a friendly, helpful, accommodating teacher. You can tell that she enjoys her job and likes her students. She has a unique way of presenting information with flow charts on the board. A&P II isn't easy material to assimilate, but Dr. Shores engages her students and prepares them for the test. Love her!!!

Dr. Shore really knows the material that she teaches. Her level of knowledge is incredible and she knows the book from front to back. You will have to work very hard but it will be all worth it in the end. Don't skip class and ask for help if you need it. She gives you all the tools you need to achieve academic success. I had Mrs. Shores for the lab section only, I had a terrible instructor for the lecture section. Mrs. Shores was awesome, she would help us with the lecture material after she was done teaching the lab lesson, and she's the main reason I passed a couple of my lecture tests. She makes everything very clear, drawing lots of diagrams. Very helpful.

Very knowledgeable professor but A LOT OF HOMEWORK. (I think it may be the department and not her). There is no extra credit offered. The lab class has more lecture involved than identification. She teaches by diagrams so if you are a visual learner she is great.

Wonderful teacher, very calm and laid back. She explains everything very well and draws out pictures with more detail for better understanding. Great sense of humor. She follows the textbook very closely, I've barely written down notes, mostly follow along in the book & highlight. Lecture tests are challenging but always material she covers.

She definitely goes into depth in her lectures and labs. Makes sure you understand what will be on the test. Be sure to take notes. Read for lecture. Use the book pictures for lab too(shell inform you if she uses only book or her photos). She is there to help you with whatever you need. Ask questions if you don't understand.

This class with any professor in general is tough. You have a lot of homework, reading, and you just have to stay on top of everything. However Dr. Shores makes this class interesting with her lectures. She goes into detail and explains it all out for you. She is VERY helpful and always goes out of her way for her students! Definitely take her!

She has a great personality. She is funny sometime. If you can not understand a person with a accent the she may not be the best instructor for you. Go to class. She is very clear about what you need to do to pass the class. Test are sometimes confusing. She is very good at explaining material and make sure you write notes on the board.

BEST Teacher I have had at Greenville Tech! The content is hard & you need to study, but she helps you with EVERYTHING! Even tells you what to focus on for tests & offers practice test questions! Offers additional review sessions outside regular class to study for tests that are VERY helpful. Do what she asks & you'll make an A.

Dr. Shores is by far my best professor to date. She is clear about her expectations and will basically tell you what's on the test, but you should come to class to hear it. She relies on the Socrative App for reviews which are EXTREMELY helpful for the exams. Take her, listen to her, and trust when she says its on the test. Consistent. Awesome

Dr. Shores is an amazing teacher!! She is so kind, and you can tell she loves to teach. She simplifies everything into charts, and draws pictures in lab for you to understand better. She always answers questions you have, and makes sure to get back to you in a reasonable time. She does a great review on Socrative and quizzes!

Dr. Shores is the best Bio teacher I've had at Gvltec. She takes the time to explain and go over things if you don't understand and is available for outside help. Such a sweet lady and wants you to succeed! Science is not my strongest subject but I did well in her class.

A great teacher. Provides great study tools I wish I would of had in BIO 210. She interprets all material into charts & graphs on the board, so you might want to bring a bunch of black, no lined paper. She does have an indian accent for anyone with a language barrier. Would recommend her to anyone taking this course.

love love love this professor! you could not have anyone better. Her test are somewhat tough because lecture itself is a little hard, but she is a great professor. She pretty much lets you know what to expect for each test and makes everything very clear when teaching. HIGHLY recommend!

If you are looking for an A&P teacher, CHOOSE DR. SHORES!!!!! She interprets info into charts & graphs, & is so down to earth. Socrative reviews are REALLY helpful, and contributed to my success in 211. Wish I would have taken her in 210. Tests are hard, as it is A&P, but much better than teacher I had in 210, but if you study, you will do great!!!

She is hands down the best biology teacher out there! Not only did I pass with a A but I learned the material not just memorized it and pass. She actually teaches and doesn't read a powerpoint! She gives you socrative quizzes that really help you for the test. As long as you put in the work you will do amazing.

Let's face facts, A&P is a difficult course. With that in mind, think about how difficult it is to teach the subject to a class. Dr. Shores does an amazing job relaying the material to layman terms. You earn your grade based on your knowledge of the material. Dr. Shores is always willing to help in and outside of class. Definitely recommend!

I took Dr Shores for Bio 210 and liked her so much I took her 211 course. She truly knows the material & attempts to actually teach it to you rather than just having students memorize. Do the end of the chapter questions & the Socratic quizzes, because theyre typically test questions. Also, anything she writes or draws on the board is important.

Dr Shores is an amazing professor. She is passionate about teaching and making sure that the students learn the material. If you want to PASS this class, you need to make sure you are in class and paying attention. I love that she breaks her information down and is very patient at explaining the information to students over and over again.

Dr. Shores is an amazing teacher, she makes sure her students understand concepts and draws out everything on the board. She highlights what you need to take note of and teaches more from the white bored than the PowerPoint. She is a great choice and I loved her teaching style.

I just finished up her BIO 211 course for this spring. Although with all of our lectures being moved to online due to the Coronavirus outbreak, she still tried her hardest to explain the material in the easiest way and even frequently offered review sessions. However I preferred the face to face lectures because its a lot easier to grasp the info.

I had some reservations about the course since the subject matter is difficult and the class format was all online. However, Dr. Shores is so sweet and really does go out of her way to help her students. She cares and gives her students all the resources, helpful hints, and tips and tricks, to succeed. I'd take another of her classes any day!

This class is a tough one and requires alot of studying. Hardest thing was adjusting to online and how to work through everything. She was encouraging and always answered questions. She will like you more if you participate and attend sessions/ ask questions, to show you care. Use her mock exams and study the study guides.

Dr. Shores was phenomenal! Shes so, so sweet and caring. The entire class adored her. This class is TOUGH. You cant skimp on understanding concepts. I took this class online, which is supposedly more difficult, and it was stressful. Shes the perfect one to teach it, though. Shes always available to meet one-on-one to explain anything. 10/10.

Professor Shores is amazing in the world of Biology! She teaches straight from her passion of Biology while making it simplified into easier to understand the physiology and lab portions in different segments of the body! Forewarning: The tests are heavy loaded of lots of information but if you study her material, you'll surely pass!

A hidden gem of anatomy teachers at Greenville Tech! Anatomy is one of the hardest classes but she makes it easy by drawing diagrams and flow charts to understand lecture material. Her tests are exactly what she lectures on and she really enjoys teaching! I strongly recommend her to anyone taking anatomy! Thank you Prof Shores!!

Prof. Shores was not only great at teaching, but super caring. A classmate had gotten into a car wreck the day before a test and was clearly shook up. Prof. Shores stopped what she was doing and comforted the student! What a genuinely caring soul! Hopefully this example helps show how much she cares about her students!

Dr. Shores is a smart and caring professor. Buy a sketch book before you start as she teaches with flow charts, diagrams, tables, etc.. This class is difficult and is very fast paced in order to go over all of the materials. She does not specify what information will be on the test and what will not, making all material fair game.

Professor Poonam has been the best professor I have ever had. She is truly the most remarkable woman i have ever met, she deeply cares about students and lectures with classical methods that help a student understand hard topics. Shes the teacher I will tell my friends bout when they asked me about my collage experience. Study guides are key.

She did a great job. Overall I would take the class again with her if I had too. She's also very funny when she doesn't mean to be. Find yourself a good quizlet to study with and you should do pretty good.
