Quizzes similar to tests..shes a cutie
She's very organized and covers material on the board clearly and thoroughly. She gives take home quizzes which help tremendously on the tests. Best math teacher I've ever had!
I loved her class. She is very nice and you feel comfortable asking questions. Very helpful. Very good at explaining and takes her time.
Precious was really clear on our material and she was always very open to helping any students out. She wasn't the best math teacher I've had, but she was really close to it.
She's amazing
Took math 120 my first year in college and failed. Precious is the only reason i am gonna pass this time! Really great teacher! Talks to you like you are in elementary school and i love it!!!!!!
yep she is the finest teacher ive ever had
very hot. worth taking class.
Great teacher. Always very thorough which helped. The class itself was really easy, but thanks to a large part of her giving you the tools needed. Homework was never graded, and I passed with not much effort put towards the class. And my God, I would hit it with the fist of Zeus.
extremly hot, cool professor with tat sleeves, and very cute and adorable, other than that great teacher she makes the subject very clear and comprehendible and very willing and able to help students, great!!!!! eye candy!!
This was the worst math class I have ever taken. Class notes and homework were not related what so ever. Her class work was extremely easy and her tests were way harder than anything we had ever done in class. She was absolutely no help at all, and was very bad at explaining things when you went for help.
Great teacher, gives good notes. I never did the homework, but listened in class, took notes and did fine .
teacher explains things thoroughly and is there to help when ever you need it, great math class! math is my worst subject but thanks to precious i understood math allot better
Great at explaining material. Very helpful!
Math is not my best field, but Precious made this class interesting and is very helpful. She has a great and easy-to-follow way of teaching. Very cool person and appearance, modern professor.
Precious Andrew is the nicest, most helpful teacher I've ever had. She explains how equations work and why they work. Also, she's a cutie ;)
Precious is an amazing teacher who loves to help people. She takes so much time out of her day in order to help everyone that its hard to believe. She is very friendly and very easy to get along with. If you need help just ask. She is very very hot and that is a plus when she tries to reach the top of the board in the little skirts she wears ;)
Precious is the best math teacher I've ever had. She takes math seriously and is great at making the material more understandable. She is very fair in all tests, homework and grading
she failed me:( unrealistic expectations for her students
The work in class was easy and so were the test. I was passing her class until I received the final. Believe me her tests and the final are nothing alike. As everyone knows that the final is what determines if you pass the class or not. If you take her GOOD LUCK....!!!!
She is amazing! So sweet and such a good teacher. She is the only reason I passed, not to mention she is beautiful.
Always ready to help, lectures and easy to understand. Genuinely wants you to pass.
Awesome teacher, willing to help out. Also, ridiculously gorgeous.
Make sure you study and do extra problems until you get the concepts. She lectures very quickly and you may need to get ear plugs in order to handle her loud shrilling voice. There are multiple group worksheets, quizzes and tests in addition to online mathlab and optional homework from the book.
If you're like me and basically suck at math, Precious is the perfect teacher to have. She's easy to understand and goes out of her way to help.
Why you are in the class will dictate how you do in it. If you suck at math, then everything wil go fine. If you are taking it because your major doesn't require a high level math, or if you are generally good at math, it's pedantic, tedious and dull. Showing your work is half the grade, so it's possible to get everything right and still fail.
Very thorough course notes, very helpful with explanations. Precious also seems to have a genuine interest in passing her students.
Precious is amazing! She explains things so great and is always willing to help. Love her.
most people like her because she is attractive. this class i found was helpful because the group work and student helpers. her class was just average.
Awesome teacher, awesome class. pay attention and do the worksheets and you'll be able to expect A's on every test
Absolutely hated her class. She is a nice person, but if you love math do not take her class.
If you attend all the lectures and do work sheets and homework you can easily make a good grade in her class. She is probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. (If you "love" math and don't want your professor to make it simple for all of us who struggle, I would recommend testing into a higher devision math class.)
Best part of her class, is her body. She's what motivated me to sit in the front row and do my work. She's very helpful and explains stuff well. She's covered in tattoos, which may bother some people.
Overall the classes is pretty basic, If you keep up with all the worksheets, pre classes, and online homework's, then you should be able to get a decent grade. Precious is a good teacher overall.
She is not very helpful when you ask her questions in class. Her tests are not hard, you just need to study for them. She lectures fast (she rushes) and only for 20 minutes, the rest of the time is group work.I didn't like that, she didn't encourage students to be more involved.
She has good lectures and wont hesitate to go back and explain full problems. She explains everything really good and doesn't hurt that shes really fine.
Tests are not hard if you study, helpful in class, drops 3 lowest quiz grades. Really nice
She explains things great in class but her voice is somewhat annoying. If you go to class, pay attention, and all the good stuff you'll pass. Her looks definitely influences the high class attendance.
Precious is a good teacher. She is loud & clear. Office hours are helpful. She moves through subjects fast, don’t fall behind. She had 2 TA’s that were helpful & had office hours. She allows about 10 min. for class work. Homework out of the book is not mandatory but will definitely make life easier. Worksheets and web assign does count for a grade.
This class was definitely tough and she rushed through the course; very easy to fall behind.
This class is defiantly not easy no matter what any of the comments say. I for one am not great at math, but I am usually and good-fast learner. I went to every class, did every quiz, and homework and still barely passed. If it wasn't for the TA's I would of failed by midterms. She wants you to learn but goes fast and expects you to know everything
Precious is a great teacher. She is attractive and she does a good job of explaining the course material. Her stye of teaching may be frustrating to some, but I personally learn math better by teaching myself. She assigns a lot of homework that are due on weekends, which I was not happy about due to work/other. Precious can also be condescending.
I really liked Precious! It'd been several years since I took math and I was very worried about not doing well, but Precious explained everything really well and gave great examples on the board! I loved her teaching style, and I definitely would take her again if I ever had to take another math class in college. Luckily though, I don't have to! :)
The class is fast paced, it's college,it's fast. There are many opportunities to practice problems, some required, some recommended. In class time is about half instruction, group work. She and her assistants have many office hours. Class is challenging. Her class had a slightly higher final average overall.
She Rushes...
She really rushes through the material, and does not lecture or provide sufficient examples. She leaves most of the class period open for students to write problems on the board, and then never explains how they got their answers. Just when I've wrapped up one assignment, another huge assignment is assigned with an even tighter deadline.
Alright here's the deal, you're a college student now and sick of seeing people shred a teacher because they move fast and are hard. Precious is, in my opinion, one of the best 150 professors UNM has to offer. If you are lazy, or would rather not spend 6 hours a week on homework, switch to art. You must work in any real major you take.
She is one of the best teacher's in the department, it's not her fault the class is tough.
The hottest professor you will ever have
Ms. Andrews has the best math class I have ever taken. She has lots of great assignments and explains this very well. Do not take it with anyone else.
Precious is great. She can seem condescending until you get to know her. She's great with explaining things in class. Out of class, she's much less willing to help, often saying "we did a problem like that in lecture." Her PLFs tend to be more helpful then. Do get ready for funky problems; she likes "interesting." Teaches what you need to know!
Precious was a great professor! There were many quizzes and tests, but very simple. She teaches at a fast past, so you can't fall asleep or else you'll miss a ton. She cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed! I highly recommend.
Take this professor! Her lectures are clear and straightforward. She is organized, articulate, and writes clearly on the board. Her tests reflect her lectures and homework so there are no surprises. She is a beautiful woman who always maintains professionalism and shows fairness. Do the work, you'll pass.
Precious is an amazing teacher. She moves kind of fast but it's not too difficult to keep up. All work is turned in on a worksheet packet and homework problems assigned are for your own benefit with no grade but you should definitely do them to get an A. There is a quiz about every week. The class is done out of examples rather than from the book
One of the best, most helpful teachers I've had. She's helping you pass her class, rather than testing you to see if you can. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. You can work on your homework with her and she clearly explains how to do the problem. The homework is long because of the coordinator, but she helps you through it. Gives UNM's math dept a good word.
Precious is so cool and helpful. If you go to class and do the worksheets, you should have an easy time in this class. She gives lots of opportunity to meet with you and help.
Awesome instructor & knows material. Homework load Heavy; expected for a 5 credit class, but weighs heavy on gpa. No extra credit, no lowest exam dropped;worked hard for a B- Lucky to pass 1st time. Freshman, take the compass placement & avoid predicament 1st semester. Final has everything. Barely used book. Never used access code. Learned much.
Precious is awesome. Homework packets due every week (we work on them in class) She had plenty of office hours and was very sweet. I did feel like she favored certain students. Overall really understanding. Definitely recommend her!
I had to take this class in the summer because I didn't pass it during the spring with another instructor. Precious is an amazing teacher and doesn't mind answering your questions. She gives out homework packets that you normally have a week or longer to complete and a good portion of those packets are completed in class as a class.
Precious is very sweet and knows what she's talking about. She's very helpful and does everything she can to help you succeed. The material is of course, difficult for most but she's help you through the worksheet packets. She's also very friendly and personable, and will treat you with respect. You NEED to show up and participate!
I had another teacher before getting into her class so if you are not feeling you 153 teacher email her and she will most likely open a spot for you. She's great and her packets are super helpful. The can be tedious but of you do them and study a bit you'll fly through with a B+. Her explanations are great & she has study sessions almost everyday.
Precious is such an amazing professor. I didn't do too well on the first test, but if I had studied better and tried harder I would probably have an A. Do the packets, study, ask questions, answer examples on the board(required) and you'll do great on quizzes and tests. She's super friendly and will help a lot. A lot of group/partner work, helps!
Precious is a wonderful math teacher. She knows her stuff and is very intelligent. She gives an overload of work, but it's not fault that it is a combination of two classes. You should already expect the class to keep you busy since it is 5 credit hours. Do the worksheets, reviews, and really practice the material. Very great class!
Do not take this course. It will ruin your semester and make you possibly lose your scholarship. Since it's 5 credits the class material is double and it goes twice as fast. Simple take Trig and Precalc SEPARATELY . Precious is nice but the 2 classes in one is just crazy. Unless you focus solely on this class for the semester, its not a good idea.
Precious is an amazing instructor! She explains things in great detail and is extremely helpful. Her teaching style is a bit fast paced and it's easy to fall behind, so don't skip class. She gives weekly worksheets that are a bit tedious but you can get most of them done during class. She also allows you to work with a partner Precious is the best!
Precious was amazing!! I would definitely take this class again. She makes you have a partner throughout the semester which you will come to respect and love. Her tests are hard. Work load is tough. She is super helpful during office hours and in class.
You will literally look forward to coming to class just because you want to see Precious. She is gorgeous. On top of that, she is so smart! She knows math like the back of her hand. Although she may go a little fast she holds office hours two days a week and I found that time to be very beneficial. This class is difficult but she makes it worth it.
Precious has a really focused, clear curriculum--she's clearly been doing this for a # of yrs & is really polished. She welcomes questions during lectures and breakaways. Note that she may come off as sort of uninterested when you ask, but she's simply figuring out what you're asking & how she should respond. Offers long hrs @ her HO/study tables.
Precious is a wonderful person and so sweet! Unfortunately, I wasn't ready for this class and ended up dropping it. She was very nice about those of us who weren't doing well and didn't make anyone feel stupid. Don't be afraid to speak up! No question is bad and she has no issue helping you out. (Even if it's a rehash of what she just taught you.)
Precious is a sweetheart and really wants her students to succeed. That said, if you are not a strong math student, TAKE PRECALC AND TRIG SEPARATELY. 153 was an enormous amount of work and is the hardest class I've ever taken. If you miss a single class, you will be legitimately far enough behind to fail the next exam.
Precious is a good professor. She is great at explaining the material and her students need to learn in order to pass. There is a lot of work and quizzes.
she the best math instructor I had in unm
Andrew is not accessible outside of class, doesn't answer #'s, dresses inappropriately in class, is unprofessional over email, is not flexible with you, does not set clear expectations, does not have a syllabus, and doesn't care if you have a life outside school. Do not take one of her classes if you struggle with math or want to learn. 0/10
I took both precalc and trig and failed both. This summer course was a risk. The professor was amazing and I passed with a B. There was a lot of homework but not an unreasonable amount for a summer course. The lectures were so helpful and I thank the professor for preparing me for calc 1. The lectures are on youtube so I can access them at anytime!
I took math 1430 with Precious and it was rigorous. If you are not strong in math and you do time to go out and seek help I suggest you do not take Preciouss course. Although I never met her, the homework she assigns is challenging, her lectures do not go into too much depth, and her exams are much harder and a big portion of your grade.
I would definitely not take a class with this professor again. She marks your grade on the littlest of things. I'm taking a fairly easy math class, yet have a bad grade. I do all my work on time, but if I forget to circle an answer or something so simple I will lose a lot of points. Even on questions where no work is needed she marks you.
Homework is fairly easy but lectures do not go in-depth. The exams are far harder than the homework and lectures. Prof Andrew just seems generally uninterested in teaching. Definitely not a bad professor per se just a little disappointing.
I used to like math when i was younger, then in Middle School and High School, I just hated it with a passion. I also hated stats, trig, and algebra and still hated it. Pre-calc with Professor Andrew made me actually enjoy math again. She is a great professor in my opinion and her online lectures were very easy to follow along with.
She teaches well in person, getting you to look at the material and understand it for yourself rather than reciting a lot of calculations to memorize. The basics were awesome but the more esoteric parts were confusing and the online communication was unreliable. I am grateful for what I did learn but am redoing Trig with a different instructor.
She explained concepts really well, but if you take a remote class with her you'll have to print out tests and worksheets. There's not a lot of flexibility for tech issues. I did my best on all the tests and I think my highest score was an 86%.
I took this class online and it felt impossible, I went to office hours to try to get help on homework that I did not understand but she would give vague answers and not really help me. I cried during every test honestly. She may be different in person but please do not take her online.
About 6 hours a day 7 days a week on this class since it is condensed. At office hours she is helpful but her time is very limited. If you are struggling, don't sit there spinning your wheels - the class is fast paced and and she is not there to hold your hand. Professor Leonard on youtube and CAPS will get you through this class.
UNM requires their PhD students to teach a few classes. The result of this is people who are not equipped to teach run amuck in these lower level classes. Precious isn't a rude lady but she is so unbelievably bad at teaching that you have to rely on tutors and the book if you want to pass. I would defer graduation a semester to avoid her again.
Precious was actually a very kind person willing to help any students. However, the format of her online class is bad you work within groups of 3 and are told to meet for 1 hour once a week to discuss the worksheet. The worksheets are extremely tough so pay attention to videos. Tests are also extremely hard, not like worksheets and more complicated
Literally one of the hardest math classes I've ever taken. I did about 3-4 hours a day of the homework, and I didn't even do the textbook hw problems. Exams and the final are 80% of final grade. That's insane. She also doesn't help via email either, just gives vague answers and on her keys she skips a lot of steps so its easy to get confused.
Very difficult class. The homework is long, and there are several hours of lecture videos to watch. Professor Andrew is vague when asked questions, and there is very little exam prep. The exam reviews are very long and nothing like the actual tests, so they're mostly a waste of time. I would not suggest taking an online class with this professor.
This professor does great with the amount of material she has to teach, most of the bad reviews are about the course and not the actual professor?? The course is 5 credit hours, it's very tough but this professor was very helpful and very kind. Super responsive, always helped when I had questions, and plenty of practice material.
