Took him for 361B and got an A. He is by far the easisest for this course.

His X-tra credit is the reason why ppl pass his class. The practice tests do not refect the actual tests. He collects homework and does take it late. He prefers teaching female students over male. He concentrated his teaching efforts to 8 females whom...
he is very fair. it is hard to get an "a" but he gives a lot of extra credit and has a huge curve. he is als pretty cool. probably he easiest teacher for this class
not a hard teacher. gives extra credit, hwk and has curves on exams.
Not clear & often confusing. I hate to say, but this instructor seems to flirt with all the girls leaving us guys in the dark when we don't understand something. But his mock test and homework answers really help for independent study. I'll take him again
he is kinda hard to understand, but sit toward the front and take good notes and you should do fine. exams are not too bad...he lets you use a sheet of paper front and back and open book. i liked this class, and think i will take him for stat B!
statistics is not an easy subject!!! but dr. gupta is the best and nicest to take. he cares about his students. go to his office hours if you need help. take him. he's good.
Word of warning for all women!!! Do not take this teacher. He made a move on one of my friends in front of me. He did it twice. Plus everything i learned in this class was because of my own efforts of reading the book. I would say stay away.
He is hard to understand, and the class is hard. I would not take him again. He pays more attention to females in class and disregards questions from the guys.
horible teacher. i got an A in 361a, but i failed Gupta's class. very hard to understand.
Very difficult to understand his accent. The pros: exams are open book with 1 pg of notes, offers a lot of extra credit, grades on curve. Cons: lots of homework problems which are hard, the "problems" section of the exams are difficult.
This is a difficult class but he grades on a curve. Easy to at least pass this class. 2nd book most helpful in real world while the rest is useless.

Very boring professor. Did not understand a single word that came out of his mouth. Basically taught myself (so did everybody else I know. Only upside is he grades on a curve since the class average on tests are ususally between 50-60%. Also gives some extra credit.
GOOD - he will answer any questions in class, and spend time on examples if you need - tests are a little tricky with wording so DO HOMEWORK (which he collects N-E-Ways), EXTRA Credit helps and he's got office hours - Hard to understand so Sit In The FRONT of class - Free tutoring at CBE in MH bsmt.
Hard class! But you have a lot of extra cred opportunity. Be involved throughout and you can get a C
This is a very hard class but go to all his classes, do all the extra credits and you will pass the class. He's a nice professor and always willing to help, but make sure you read and understand the text as his lectures are not that helpful.
The subject is hard. So, do the extra credit to pass the class. He is hard to understand and does not really teach well. But he will answer any question you may have.
Difficult class and boring, but if you'll do semple tests, all h/w, and extra credit, you'll pass the class.
Take him! 2 exams and a final. Allows cheat sheet (formulae & helping hints; no Q & A) and book. Also allows you to solve by hand ie using calculator or excel. How cool is that? If you fail, blame yourself. Should be an easy A or B.
Having excel skills helped in this class. Not as difficult as I thought. 2 exams and a final. Allows cheat sheet, book and use of excel to solve for solutions! Excel was a great tool! Homework to be handed in on day of exam. Easy A!
This is not a math class nor a computer class only. It is a mixture of both with extra topics that you'll never need in the future. However, he is a good teacher who helps you pass by allowing a free cheat sheet and OPEN TEXTBOOK for exams. But don't be fooled, you'll need to have studied in order to get a passing grade.
Class was decent in the beggining of the semester but now he takes points for solving problems in class even though the equation for it was shown to us literally 5 minutes before hand. Very irritating. Kinda shoots people down which I dont appreciate
Gives tools to help pass the exam. Allows cheat sheet, book and use of excel. However, u must study and know the material cos the tools are just an insurance. Cons: speaks a little too soft and won't post final grades on Blackboard or reply to email request for final grades. Otherwise professional in demeaneour, polite and will answer students'Qs.
Gupta speaks very softly and mumbles... hard to understand unless you stare at his mouth and listen carefully to every word. Not the best English... but better than some of the other ISDS/Math teachers I have had. OPEN BOOK TESTS and CHEAT SHEETS make the exams PASSABLE, but you still need to complete ALL assignments and STUDY!!
The class itself is a hard class to pass. But like Gupta said, it's hard to fail his class. Just do decent on the exams and complete all HW/Projects and you'll pass. He's an overall good guy.
I didn't really like Gupta. He teaches you a lot of material that is unnecessary for the exams. I really didn't learn anything from his lectures. I basically taught myself. His tests are fairly difficult, but as long as you study the sample exams, you'll be fine. I'm so glad I passed his class! :)
This class is really hard. If you do the homework and study the practice exams, and do the extra credit, you will pass. He curves the class which helps a lot!!
I was so worried that i wouldn't pass. i was really struggling at first. i didn't understand his lectures, the book confused me, and he provided no help at all. but lucky, after the first exam, you kind of know what to expect on the next one. read the chp., do the hw, do random problems in the book (solution given), and the study guide (all of them
He gives a really generous curve that will be much needed once u actually take one of his impossible tests. He puts things on there that he has not even talked about in class and he is not clear in anything he says. Stay far away from him if u want to actually understand the class at all.
Professor Gupta is soft spoken and his class can be boring because you’ll be lost if you haven’t read the chapter he is lecturing on. This subject is hard, so carefully read the chapters and do the homework. Don’t do everything last minute. For this class you need to be prepared. The tests are hard! He curves grade. I highly recommend tutoring and

He will get you confused, despite his helpfulness. I got an A in his class only because I transferred schools and CSUF made me take the class again. Plus, he seems to only call on girls to answer his questions in class. I'm a guy and I never got called on unless I rose my hand. On the bright side, his curve is GREAT!
Had a really hard time for the first test, it's a continuation of ISDS 361A. The subject is really difficult, and it'll be hard to understand the professor. Don't let this discourage you; as you move into the next book, things start making a lot more sense and eases in difficulty, and you'll start understanding the prof/lessons. DO THE HOMEWORKS.
His grading policy is really great. The material is a bit tough. Did not benefit much from his lectures as his accent is a bit difficult to understand. I mostly benefited reading from the book. He gives the answers to all the chapter exercises. If you practice solving a lot of problems, you should do fine of the exams. Submit all assignments.
Hard 2 understand sometimes due to accent.Did not benefit from his lectures.Taught myself by studying from the book.Tests r open book, open notes. But tests can b pretty tough & tricky.he gives answers 2 all chapter exercises, so make sure 2 submit hw completely 2 earn easy pts.his grading system is really gr8.
Funny teacher. Hard to understand but will help you out at the end. Do all hw extra credit and projects. The tests are hard so you'll need to study for it, however his curve is great!
great teacher, complete homework, work on projects. HE WILL PASS YOU if you show you want to pass, likewise, HE WILL NOT PASS YOU IF YOU DONT PUT THE EFFORT.
he has a heavy accent but he is very helpful. the homework and project are basically free points.
Hes one of the easiest ISDS teachers i have met. Goes over everything, gives extra credit, 1st test is mostly review from 361A, but dont worry if you got a C because the last 2 tests will be on new material and will be VERY EASY as long as you go to class! If you study, do homework, and go to class you can get at least a B!
The Gupt is freaking hard to understand. The material is not that hard if you are in to math and Excel. You can teach yourself the material and you will do fine. He does offer extra credit.
Gupta is hard to understand. The first two classes I was completely lost (and I had an A in 361A) because his accent is heavy and he mumbles and is sometimes a bit scatterbrained. He does have a generous curve. If you study and do his problems you should do well in his class, and after a few weeks you'll understand his language better.
I would say that the subject matter is HARD, not necessarily the professor. He is of medium difficulty. However, he will help you to the end. Overall he teaches well and assigns hw that is helpful for the exams. The only down side is his thick accent that sometimes renders him impossible to understand.
Gupta is one of the worst professors I've ever had in terms of how he teaches his students. His class isn't that hard but most people will lose interest because of his teaching style and won't learn much. I guess there are worse ISDS professors out there.
Gupta is extremely boring and dull. His tests are semi difficult but he curves. His practice tests are somewhat similar to the real tests. The format is the same. Must practice everything to help review. He is horrible at explaining things. I learned a lot on my own but his teaching did help. Ended up with a B+ after the curve.
RUN from this teacher. Lecture is boring, he does not answer questions, not friendly. His tests are incredibly hard he had to curve one midterm 20%. He does curve but you have no idea what you are getting in the class until the end. He does not post grades or tell you. 1 extra credit point here and there but not enough to help. Open book open note
He is probably the smartest teacher I've ever had at CSUF. Unfortunately, he's also the worst when it comes to teaching. His accent is second to none. I remember sitting there during his final and having that "holy crap" feeling-way too difficult (but he curves). All in all, I guess you could do worse, but I'm sure you could do better than Gupta.
He's nice but has heavy accent. He curves a lot it really helps. Not the best but not the worst teacher.
Boring way of teaching a potentially helpful course. Hardly attended class, still got enough info to do well. Heavy accent but understandable. Try and avoid.
Heavy accent, he doesn't take attendance but does have you do assignments in class, each is one point, so that helps at end of class. Test are hard, study practice exams and understand all formulas. He curves a little. Boring.
WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD. He's terrible at explaining the material, applications and reasons or why's, goes from point A to D skipping B and C you need to get there (as does his so called home made solutions manual), doesn't answer questions well, unresponsive to email and genuinely annoyed if you ask him any question one on one.
Do the HW assignments and from the beginning of the semester memorize the study guides that are up and you get an A. Almost identical to the exams. Essay questions are in fact identical to the ones posted. Super easy, unfortunately I did not learn much. Basically, ERP systems are expensive and change management is essential. SAP please
very hard to understand him. having a textbook is a must! gives hw assignments which makes it easier for us to understand the lectures a bit better. tests are exactly like study guides. gives bonus questions on the test.
Took him in the Summer, actually easier than I thought. Nice man, make sure you do the practice exams. Taking for 361 B.
He mumbles a lot and it is really hard to follow his directions. Professor Drezner would be a better choice.
Gupta isn't the best. Accent is difficult to understand & he tends to mumble. He lets you use Excel instead of memorizing the complex equations like some other ISDS professors do (for that reason alone I'm considering him for ISDS 361B). 1pg notes on exams. 1 paper due. Not the best at answering questions, so dont expect to understand what ur doing
I can tell the class really easy to pass because his rate on 65% to pass but if you want to understand this course I dont recommend him. I pass this course without knowledge.
Lowest grade (C) that I have received after 97 units here. Hard to understand him. He does have a sarcastic sense of humor. Test are very difficult but passible with the curve. Lots of time studying needed for this class. Do not rely on just knowing how to do the problems in the book, test problems are presented differently than the book problems.
I thought the class was fairly easy!! His accent is bearable, BUT it is really hard to keep up with his lectures (1st: his accent, 2nd: it was a computer lab ^^). Tests are open book, powerpoints, and one page note. What else would you need! He also posted chapter quizzes (for practice) prior to each exams. Really helpful
This is a hard subject, but he is one of the most generous graders I've had in a while. He's test are very good, meaning it's not to easy but also not to hard. If you don't study then it will be extremely hard. So you must study in this class. He is known for having a high passing percentage so if you want to pass take him.
Terribly difficult to understand him due to his accent. Subject is extremely difficult. Class went too fast to be able to comprehend anyting. The vook was somewhat helpful but it wasnt enough. He was very kind and generous with his time but it was too much to learn. Would help if he concentrated on the items that were specifically on exams
This is a hard subject to teach. You have 3 tests, a project worth 15 points, and homework worth 15 points. To pass, you need 215/330 or 65%. I got a 51%, 83%, and 64% on the tests. Gupta is hard to understand, but a C is considered a 65% so I recommend finding study partners and taking him.
You will have to adapt to his heavy Indian accent, but other than that his teaching is clear and he knows what he's doing. Exams are open books, ppts, and 1 cheatsheet. As long as you pay attention and follow the in-class exercises, it's easy A. He provides practice tests.
Heavy Indian accent, but you will get used to it. The first test is easy, but the material does get harder. Study the exam practice problems he posts on Titanium. Go to class even though he is boring, because the Excel instructions will be your lifesaver on the tests. There is a pointless report at the end of the semester that's worth 15 points.
Couldn't understand much of what he was saying the whole semester, but I would recommend this professor because his awesome grading scale. ISDS is very difficult but he seems to be the best for what there is. You can use excel for everything which saved me, and the tests are open book, open note and open powerpoint. Take him!
**WARNING** Do not take this professor!! If you do, buy plenty of aspirin for the headaches. It is just a state university, but come on CSUF. Really!! No, I mean really!!!!! Students, it's a disservice to yourself by taking him.
This is a very difficult class (b, not a). Dr. Gupta knows this, and is SOOOO willing to help and teach in any way he can. His accent takes some getting used to, but USE HIS OFFICE HOURS. There are a lot of lazy students who don't want to do any work, so they blame their grades on their teachers. Dr. Gupta is one of the best professors I've had
Very hard class, but again, Dr. Gupta is very knowlegable, quick to respond to e mails, and has available office hours. He is extremely fair; he's not out to just fail people. If you put in the work, you will do well. If not, you won't, but that's not his fault!
He was nice and helpful. I recoomond you guys to take him for this class. The course is hard itself, but he makes it as easy as possible. you even get point if you go see him at his office regarding any of your questions and concerns! His exams are similar to his study guides.
ISDS is a hard class but Gupta tries to make it as painless as possible. There are 3 exams (final not cumulative). He allows a 1-pg cheat sheet front & back, open book, & Excel for his exams. He gives 5 quizzes, drops 2. Exams have extra credit on them. He's not the clearest professor but it's just b/c ISDS is a hard class to teach. Recommended!
Great professor. Teaches it elementary style. If stats is hard for you ~ this professor is great!! Took him for ISDS361A and also B. Really enjoyed his sweet sarcasim :) great professor! Very helpful!
His huge curve is cool. However, he is very difficult to understand in terms of his teaching style. He is also very rude. He never received the quiz that I turned in and he basically scoffed at me when I asked him what I could do to fix it. It wasn't my fault that he lost my quiz! He was very mean about it. Really not helpful at all.
Good professor. Provides study guides and sample questions. Tells you what will be on the exam. Good sense of humor. He knows some students find the subject difficult and tries his best to make everyone understand. Encourages students to come to office hours if they are confused about something. Practice the problems yourself and you'll be fine.
I appreciate how helpful he was. Many professors in college do not care if students struggle.Take full advantage of office hours. He wants to achieve 100% passing on his class, and does as much as he can to answer questions. But you HAVE TO ASK, come on. TAKE HIM.He even offers extra time if you can't make it to his designated office hours, ask.
I took Gupta for the summer session. He has a huge curve where 65% is a C, he takes his time with each problem, and he is very willing to go over each problem until everyone gets it. I would recommend. He also provides study guides very similar to the midterms and final. Also lets you use one full page (front and back) during exams and excel.
Best professor for Isds 361B, big time extra credit around 20 points and 65% is a pass 215-330C, you will not be disappointed. Take him I recommend.
This is a class you MUST go to and pay attention or else you will get lost. Follow the lectures, go over excel problems, power points, homework, quizzes, and study guide. Super easy if you pay attention. Exams are exactly like study guide, hw, and quizzes. Highly recommend this professor!
This was a REALLY easy A, BUT you need to attend class to get it. He doesn't take attendance but works with excel a lot and gives good tips and shortcuts for the problems that you can't learn alone. For tests he gives you 1 page front and back of notes to use + powerpoint access + open book (though i didn't even buy the book). TAKE HIM.
3 total tests 90%. Quizzes and One simple project 10%. Extra credit problems on every test! Allowed one full page cheat sheet, open book, open powerpoint for tests (even the final). Take him if you are trying to find an easy way out of this difficult subject. He makes it almost impossible for you to fail.
He went over many examples in class that are relevant to the material that are in exams. Take him, he is a patient and nice professor.
No Curve. there are some extra credits but test are so hard. i feel like he didn't prepare good enough for the test. Tests are nothing like lecture. Do not take it. you will fail the class, unless you are naturally smart.
Took Gupta for Summer. No magical massive curve (offers up to 3% EC tho). He doesn't write his own tests so what he lectures on isn't exactly what you are tested on. You need to pay attention to not only how he does the problems but how the book does them as well. Make an excellent cheat sheet. Class looks easy but when you see the tests, it aint.
3 total tests 90%. Quizzes and one (simple) project 10%. Extra credit 3%. He allowed one full page cheat sheet, open book, open powerpoint for every test. Take him! He is nice, patient, and helpful!
Hardest class of my college career. I barely passed with a 70%. Fortunately, + and - do not count. Don't take him. Take anybody else you can. He is the worst ever. Attend class otherwise you won't know how to solve the problems. Definitely buy the book and make extra good cheat sheets.
There are 2 midterms and 1 final. He did curve one of the midterms because the class did pretty badly. He also offers 3% extra credit. His explanations were a bit unclear, but as long as you follow his steps and practice before the exams, you should be good. Attendance is not mandatory, however I would HIGHLY recommend going to class for examples.
This class is already difficult and having this professor will make it even more difficult. He gives extra credit quizzes in class but you don't get the extra credit (2%) unless you get a total of certain amount of points at the end of the semester. 3 exams non-cummaltive. Going to class is important and he gets mad when you ask questions.
If you're decent in working with Microsoft Excel, you should pass this class easily. Go to all classes even though attendance is not mandatory. Follow along with all the in-class excel examples, and save them to review later for exams. You will pass this class by putting in almost no effort at all. Gives quizzes, but they count only as extra credit
Do not take him. He is the worse professor! He says he'll give you extra credit then come sup with some stupid excuse not to give it to you! I took an option personal based survey and then he says my answers are not valid so he didn't give me my points. He can't not teach and he gave a hand full of students dirty looks for no reason He doesn't help
HIGH tier lecturer. NUFF SAID!
Easy B if you just show up some days and do nothing but passively participate. Easy A if you show up most days and actively participate. Common sense, no nonsense type of teaching. So use your brain wisely. But realistic and practical enough to prepare you for a future job in the tech sector after graduation.
I liked Prem, I loved Excel. His lectures were strictly reading off the Powerpoint. Class was easy as long as you learn how to use the templates he teaches in class. It is rather challenging if you miss class I'd say because you'd have to teach yourself the steps. 5 or 6 extra credit pop quizzes, Powerpoints usage ALLOWED on exam! I know, right?!?!
HORRIBLE. Lectures are super slow. He doesn't care about his students. If you go to his office hrs GOOD LUCK! During lectures there were times the STUDENTS had to show him how to do excel. DON'T TAKE HIM unless you're already good at this stuff. You will have to teach yourself otherwise.
Hard to understand because he can be a bit quiet and has a heavy accent, but goes very slow and explains questions well. If you show up, pay attention, take good notes, the class should be an easy B. Grade based on two exams and a final. Gives plenty of practice problems, but no comprehensive study guide.
TERRIBLE! Do not take him. He has such a heavy accent its nearly impossible to understand a word he is saying. He goes over 1 problem and expects you to understand it the first time. Gets angry when you ask questions and is not approachable at all. 3 exams, 1 group project, hw, and pop quizzes. Class is hard and makes it even harder with his accent
DO NOT TAKE HIM. He does not explain problems, and cannot fathom that students need explanations. NOT approachable either. Our class had to basically mutiny on him to get him to explain a problem. AWFUL professor.
The only reason I'm giving him two stars instead of one is because it was en easy class with extra credit. Otherwise, I did not like his teaching style or mannerisms. He was hard to understand and didn't care to explain problems we were struggling with. He didn't really care if we got it or not - he just wanted to get through the semester.
Gupta teaches a very dry lecture and is not helpful at all. I, by no circumstance would not recommend taking his course. It is very obvious that he doesn't care and give the least amount of effort in his course. You essentially need to teach yourself the course. DO NOT TAKE GUPTA
His lectures are very dull and he seems so uninterested. No clarity on exams, and no study guides. 1 Page cheat sheet and allows ppts to be used during exams. His lectures do not seem to be similar to the exams or even the hw. Super dry professor. Takes a long time to give grades. 2 midterm, final, project, and hw/ quiz points on cengage
One of the most boring classes I have ever taken. This professor gives dry lectures and is hard to understand. Show up to class for extra credit pop quizzes. Homework is ridiculous because there are limited attempts. How are we supposed to learn if we are under pressure of trying to get the right answer? Anyways, I don't recommend.
Do not take this professor. He is not helpful and homework/lectures do not match the exam. Does not give a study guide before exams. Very unorganized, rude and vague when responding. Makes students feel like they should already know the subject and sounds annoyed when you ask questions. Do not take the course with this professor.
361B Analytical skills for success, choose wisely! Gupta only lectures half way through topics. HW is harder than lectures. Exams are very difficult, you will be blind sided because he doesn't review what assigns. Extremely low class AVG, gives EC. knows his stuff, lacks passion to teach. Not your mentor! study BEFORE lecture, come with questions!
I am surprised he has low ratings! This is class is difficult and you have to do your part in passing. Every exam only covers two chapters. ATTEND LECTURE that is your time to ask anything! he will gladly go over any step! if you want to pass his class DO YOUR PART. He has great templates and lets you know EXACTLY what to expect on the exam!!
There's hw, project, tests and lots of extra credit. DO the extra credit. I definitely think his final was the easiest exam. His lectures don't cover all types of hw problems. Do the hw in advance to ask him how to set up the problems. Be sure to constantly rewatch his lectures. You'll be okay!
I took Professor Gupta during summer and trust me He is the best professor for ISDS361B. He was so patient and dedicated. He made sure that you understood the materials. The hw is harder than test but they will prepare u for the test. I emailed and went to his online office hours. Always respond to my email and easy to reach out. TAKE HIM!!!!
He's not as bad as his rating says he is. Unlike other professors, he teaches how to use Excel to complete the problems. There are three exams, HW and quizzes for every chapter, and extra credit quizzes for 3%. Overall, not the easiest professor, but he's better than other worse professors. It's doable to get a B. He has no +/-
He's old and has an accent, but he's still a great lecturer. Cengage HW has limited attempts with 10 or 20 tries per question. There are extra credit quizzes available on Canvas. Exam questions were challenging, but they were open book, and a one-page cheat sheet was allowed.
Professor Gupta is an amazing professor. He cares about his students. He is very clear on how to use Excel to your advantage and provides awesome templates. He does have a bit of an accent but you'll get used to it. Make sure to complete all the homework assignments on Cengage and attend his lectures and you'll do well in his class. I did!
He offers extra credit. The material isn't too difficult if you attend lectures and take good notes. He allows a cheat sheet, power point, Excel, and templates for exams. He is a very kind and caring person. I recommend him!
It's degrading how CSUF picks their professors. Professors like this make you question your career choice and life decisions. He talks at the speed of a snail, doesn't seem like he knows how to even use a computer , yet he's teaching an ISDS course. Im curious what the hiring process is like because it seems like I can jst freestyle and get the job
The worst professor I have ever taken in my life. The driest lectures, and no clearness on what to expect on the exams, I will five him this (the exams were easier than expected) but still difficult. Homework is way to difficult, and there's a lot of it. He was never willing to help, and was disrespectful towards students. RUN!
If you had no choice but to take him, make sure you do ALL of the Hmk, Quiz, and EC. Go over his PowerPoint and read the book to help understand the lecture. The first & second exams were HARD (i failed both). The Final was easy (passed) but study hard to get a good grade to make up for the failed exams.
His exams are tricky and he gave you some practice questions that are not really related to the exams. you can score 100 on those practice questions but you will get 85% on the test. he can go over one question for the whole class. (1.15hr) it is really slow. I would not take his class again but he is okay
Professor Gupta was awful and I am not bias as I rate all my professors every semester. his accent is so harsh and his notes and homework correlate to one another but the exams which are worth more than 70% of your grades don't represent his lecture material at all! spring 22 semester a survey was conducting where 35/120 students failed his class!
Take this professor....if you want to drop your GPA and test your patience! He mumbles and speaks low, so you NEED to sit in front of the class and pay attention. His grading is heavily based on the tests but doesn't help when you have questions in class. Do your future self a favor and take another professor or wait until the next semester.
He is very matter of fact and provides the info needed for the course via lectures (which are also recorded online). He can be hard to follow, he makes snarky comments in class, and is not willing to help outside of office hours (I had another class during his office hrs). Questions asked via email were given vague unhelpful responses.
ISDS 361B is not an easy class. But taking Gupta's class made it even worse. It was torture going through his 1-2 hour lecture videos. But that was the only way I was able to pass. Do NOT rely on his study guides. The only way to pass is if you do a bunch of practice problems step-by-step. Take his class as a LAST RESORT.
I am not sure why everyone dislikes this professor but I can tell you that the people who complained the most were the ones that NEVER participated or showed up to class. If you try, like actually tryyyy and you do your homework and get close with your peers you can ace every test without a problem. I think a lot of students now are lazy
Professor Gupta is just a poor instructor, when it comes to attending an online course try and find an alternative professor. My class is currently around a D-C average with only the one exam remaining and professor does not curve.
I had mixed opinions about Gupta throughout the semester. The course is online and he posts pre-recorded videos from over the years. Attendance isn't graded but I'd say it's mandatory in order to pass the course, once I started going weekly to class my grades turned around as I was able to be in the Zoom call with him to ask any questions I had
If you are an international student do not take his class. I can barely understand what he speaks as he has a strong accent. His lecture videos are so boring and this is not an easy course. His exam is proctored and if you miss a single class you will fail his exam.
I don't think its the prof that's hard, but the class in general is very very difficult. Offers lots of material to help you learn. I would recommend watching the YouTube videos rather than his lectures. Homework, quiz and extra credit for each chapter. 3 exams, allowed to have a cheat sheet, power points and excel when taking exams
This class is very challenging, but using unstuck AI alongside the textbook and practice problems can really help. The professor's accent makes lectures difficult, so attending class and asking questions is a must to pass.
Professor has a heavy accent!!! In addition his lecture structure is very poor!!!! Homework is very difficult and time consuming. Take this class with another professor!!!!
You have to put alot of time outside of class to understand how to do the calculations. He can be difficult to understand. 3 exams worth most of your grade. He does offer plenty of extra credit so I would suggest to do all of them.
Not very good at communicating, takes forever to respond to emails. Class structure is bad, Cengage was not linked with Canvas like almost all classes ever, meaning you have to go onto the Cengage website to see if you have homework. Course material is pretty understandable, but definitely recommend taking another professor.
