I was not a fan of Professor Junius. She is very hard to understand and her class moves by very slowly. She gives easy examples but throws some curve balls on the test. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Professor Junius is hard to understand at times. She always looks confused when you ask her questions but she is always willing to help if you ask for it. Tests are hard
She started the year off by saying attendance is not necessary so I missed a few classes. She then threatened to kick me out of the class for not being there. What really frustrated me was the fact that she did not ask or seem to care why I was missing classes. As a professor she is more of a combatant than a resource.
You have to be organized and make sure you know what's going on. She isn't very clear about what you do and don't need to get done. She gives a lot of homework. For discrete math, I thought she did a pretty good job and I didn't find it too difficult, but trying to figure out what's expected is sometimes difficult.
Professor Junius has a very strong accent, however she goes over the material until you're sick of hearing it.. Most of the time. Depending on the lesson, sometimes she goes too fast. She is very open to feedback and questions, but she will look at you like you have 3 heads when you ask them. She doesn't always look at the homework, but DO IT.
She's very unclear and unorganized. About halfway through the semester she decided that she was going to stop teaching the class make us teach ourselves instead. She takes attendance every class and holds it against you if you miss a lot.
Barely teaches in class; you have to do it all on your own. Least helpful professor I've had. Makes you feel uncomfortable when you ask questions and does not answer them. Is not understanding about illness absences. Very cold toward students. Would not recommend.
One of the most unintelligent and unorganized professors I have ever had. Some students had a better grasp of the information she was trying to teach us, before she could even attempt to figure out what she was actually trying to teach us herself. Its a shame Comp Sci majors must take this class and she's the only professor who teaches it
Took her for stat this semester. Through advanced calculus i obtained A's, and in this i barely banged out a B-. not that the grade is bad, however, she is not clear about material. Her tests are difficult and confusing. The homework material is USELESS. Often isnt in her office during hours. wouldn't recommend her for statistics.
-Attendance and the book are mandatory. -Participate A LOT (ask questions and raise your hand), you'll get leeway on tests. --When asking questions, don't expect a good answer. -She doesn't teach formulas so you need to read the chapters. Some questions on her tests are EXACTLY from the book's example questions. -Tests are very difficult.
So horrible
Skips things because it was covered in high school. Won't teach how to derive a formula because "it's good for you to write them out by hand." With such an abstract concept as proofs, she puts VERY little effort into ensuring the class understands it. SERIOUSLY consider taking from another teacher. Very carefree attitude towards actual teaching
She's very confusing and doesn't explain things well at all. She doesn't collect/check homework but you should really do it so that you understand the material because just showing up to class won't help at all. The tests are nothing like the problems she gives in class, so study the textbook. The final is also harder than any of the 3 exams
DO NOT TAKE HER she is so unhelpful and sometimes rude. She tries to be nice but if you don't understand the material right away she'll get annoyed. She actually told someone "thats your problem" bc he didn't understand what she wanted him to solve for on a test. Wants you to ask questions but never once heard her answer one.
WORST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD. She talked to us like we were stupid and was very rude to people who didn't understand things. She looks at you like you're stupid if you ask a question, then doesn't answer it. She will take an entire class to explain easy concepts and then her tests will be something completely different. DO NOT RECOMMEND
This professor is the most frustration person I've ever had to deal with. She refuses to answer questions unless it's on her angenda and talks to her students like we are children. Not to mention she is very rude. If you can't teach yourself, you will NEED A TUTOR!
Where do I even start. Sometimes I don't even know fnshe knows what she is talking about. She talks to us like we are in 1st grade and we get through MAYBE 1 problem a day. She likes to say that she goes over the hardest problems in the chapter but she really doesn't then gives us a lot of homework and kinda hard.
By far the worst Math teacher I have ever had had. She is rude and will not answer your questions in class. She does not explain how to do problems during class. She gives a lot of homework on stuff we did not go over so you have no clue how to do it. She moves at a very slow pace and goes over the same problems over again that are not relevant.
Worst Math Professor I have ever had!!! Whether you are good or bad at math do not take her course. She is rude and does not explain the problems. All the homework is based on problems she never taught. Do NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH HER AS A PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!!!
Not a good teacher. Junius is often disorganized and hard to understand in lecture, and how much you learn is entirely dependent on your interest in the subject. That said, if you put forth a moderate effort you'll do well just 1. Get the textbook and read each chapter thoroughly and 2. Go to class.
This class was the biggest regret of my academic career. Junius is a poor excuse for an educator. She speaks to her students as if they are kindergarteners and half the time doesn't know what she's talking about. In a class you may finish 1 or 2 problems then when you look at he homework it's nothing like class. She is irrational and makes no sense
One of the worst professors I've ever had. Hard to follow and looks at you like you have three heads when you ask a question because "you should know that". She's often rude to students is very unclear on what is to be expected of the students and what can be expected on exams, making studying very difficult. Doesn't explain concepts well either
She can be very rude and often when people ask questions, she either ignores them, says "figure it out" or tries to make other students help them, when NO ONE knows what's going on. The class is poorly organized and it's in such a random fashion that you can't follow anything. I basically taught myself out of the textbook and zoned out every class.
Her tests and quizzes are open-note. She is terrible at teaching the material, she kinda just puts the information on the board and keeps telling you to write it down, even when it isn't important. She is rude and treats us like elementary kids; but I just ignore her in class and teach/write notes from the textbook which helps me during tests.
If you're not a comp sci major, DON'T TAKE THE CLASS. Everyone, don't take her. Go to a diff school and transfer the credits for this class. She should have been fired years ago. She can't teach so the first thing she tells you in the beginning is for EVERYONE to get a tutor. (But seriously, get one if you do take her. 99% of you will need it)
Prema is a walking meme. While I didn't actually learn anything from her class, I was at least entertained. Here are some (real) quotes from Prema. The more dumb you sound, actually you are really clever I get into lots of trouble because I cannot separate math and real life!" What am I doing I am not authority here! I dont know math!
Awful teacher. By far the worst teacher I've had in my entire life. If you need to take discrete math, go to a community college for it.
Worst professor I have ever had and an even worse math teacher. She doesn't answer questions and tells us to ask other students or tells you to come see her at her office, does not make it clear what the test is going to be on or even what were learning in class, tests are about 10 or less questions and are 100 points. Could say so much more. Awful
This prof was awful. She spends entire classes on one topic and does NOT understand questions when they are asked. In class quizzes every week so skipping on fridays is not an option. DO NOT TAKE.
Plain and simple, not a good teacher. Bad at explaining topics and is condescending when asked a question
prema might not be the best with answering questions or catering to all students needs, but she teaches things slowly and by example, making it very easy to learn if you take notes and show up to class. also all tests and quizzes are open note, so theres no excuse for not doing well. shes sweet and willing to help if you find her at the right time.
She is the worst math teacher I have ever experience. Her lectures are unclear and confusing. She does not offer good feedback on tests and refuses to give help to students during class. The only reason I received the grade I did was because I taught myself the material.
This class was very confusing because of the prof. She says one thing and means another. She is very confusing. The only way I got by was because all the tests were open note, including the final. I ended with an A because of this. She has weird rules about asking questions and doesn't clearly answer them. If you take good notes, you'll survive.
Get out of her class quickly. She targets students and makes the course specifically hard on them. She doesn't do well when students know the information. When she talks you can't help but to just laugh because she takes forever to explain anything. If she pulls you after class good luck because she will make things up and yell at you for nothing.
She's the WORST professor in the pub. I would NEVER take her class ever. Also we had a weird tutor that thought she was a discipline principal. Premalatha is extremely disrespectful and unlike other students I am outspoken and she can get cursed out any day if she tries to disrespect me.
She does not teach in class, get a tutor and teach yourself via online homework like I did. Makes class very awkward. Often makes mistakes in her work and confuses everyone. Is very rude to students. Class is just kind of a waste of time.
This lady is absolutely horrendous. Drop the course and take it with a better professor that actually knows how to teach. Every time someone asks a question she responds with "ask a friend". Save yourself the stress and wasted time and stay away from Premalatha. (I would have rated her as a 0 if it was an option)
Awful. Shes a really nice person but her teaching ability is abysmal. I highly recommend not taking her for calculus unless youve already taken calculus in high school. Shes not clear at all, and when she cant figure out where she went wrong on a problem she spends half the class trying to figure it out. If you do end up with her GET A TUTOR!!
Literally an idiot.I'm not a math person never have been but her class isn't too much of a challenge. You pretty much teach yourself using connect math. I wouldn't suggest buying the regular test book because connect math gives the online version. She's very rude, doesn't answer questions and is unhelpful. Almost went off on her today. Good luck!
This woman my be the worst teacher I have ever had. She makes students feel stupid if they asked questions, but forced you to ask questions. I learned everything from the online homework. Tests are not hard. I only knew the material from a previous calc class. Classes were pointless, skip if you want, but i never did for the points. Terrible teach
This is a class that you want to show up to. If you don't show up, your final grade will be reduced by one full letter. Additionally, if you miss lecture, you will be behind. Also, don't expect the homework to be like the tests. She says "In the real world you will not be given homework or textbook problems." She really gets you thinking.
Professor Junius is a good human being and a bad mathematics professor. She conveys information poorly and sometimes, if it weren't for her polite demeanor, I would think she was actively sabotaging my understanding of the subject. If you have to take a class with her show up every day, sit at the back, and read the textbook. That's how you pass.
She was a very nice lady but not a great professor. If I wouldn't have taken stat in high school I would've been in trouble. She curves almost every exam so that helped a lot of people pass. HOWEVER, the final wasn't made by her; it was made by another prof in the department which really screwed me and I'm sure a lot of other people in her class.
Very hard to understand (due to her accent) and doesn't understand students' questions. The math itself was easy but she was not a very good professor. The online quizzes are completely different from the tests. Although the class was easy, I would not recommend her.
she has good intentions, truly. you can tell she cares about the students and wants to help them. too bad she is an awful teacher. she makes people afraid to ask questions because it's so awkward, she doesn't explain math in a way that you can understand, and all your grades are based off assessments.
Dr. Junius is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She is very rude and refuses to answer any questions. She continuously tells her students to ask a graduate student our questions as if she isn't the teacher. On top of all of that her exams are seven questions. If you have to take this class definitely take it with another professor.
Junius is the worst teacher that i have ever had. She is a disgrace to the math department. She doesn't answer any question; always deflects or responds with "ask the person next to you" or "ask someone who knows". the content she teaches often doesn't match with the homework. Her tests are inconsistent and she uses a common final, so good luck
I'll be honest - she is pretty hard to understand and deal with at times. But you can tell that she really cares about math and the class. As long as you show up, take notes, and respectfully listen to her, there's no way you won't pass. She makes math seem like a piece of cake - and this is coming from someone who entered college HATING math.
She is very hard to understand most of the time. As well, she does not understand any question asked by a student, and usually skips answering it. I was very unprepared for the final.
Junius is a respectable professor, but that's it. She has a very dry style of teaching that relies more on the textbook than on actual teaching skills. If you suck at math (like I do) do not take this class. Even at the 103 level, she doesn't care about her students so if you start falling behind, you are done for.
Professor Junius is not a great teacher. The content in MAT103 is easy and the textbook is clear enough that it was easy to get an A based on my own effort. There were 3 tests, weekly online quizzes, and midterm/ final. She grades you on homework, but doesn't actually check it so everyone got a 100% for it. She is not awful, but try to avoid her.
Junius has a passion for math. relied heavily on the textbook and had long lectures. She assigned weekly online quizzes, and gave three exams through the semester. She was hard to understand at times. When asked a question, she would avoid it and/or look at the student as if she was confused, and if she did answer it, it would confuse us more.
Avoid taking any classes with her. While the subject itself is not too difficult, the difficulty is with understanding her accent and her not giving any help if you ask her. If you go to her after class and ask a question, she will often dismiss what you have to say. Read the textbook, that's how you'll get through the class.
You definitely won't learn discrete math from her. The way she lectures is unorganized and confusing. She once spent the entire class period trying to spell orangutan.
Absolutely awful. If statistics was not relatively easy, I would have been screwed.
This professor rarely teaches in class. She relies on homework to teach you the material and used maybe 2 lectures during the whole semester, one time was when she was being observed. She is rude to students and doesnt answer questions clearly at all. Would not take again and suggest you all dont either!
Avoid this class. She does not know how to teach, won't help you if you have a question, and then wonders why people don't do well in her class. She's the epitome of a bad teacher.
The WORST. Her one rule in class is "don't ask me questions, ask your friends." She seems to know she's bad at teaching because on an exam I got every question wrong except one, and she curved it up to a 77%. Seriously do not take her.
She is by far the worst professor I have had at this university. She doesnt answer questions and is just down right rude. Raise your hand to ask something and shell say come to office hours. Why does A equal 0.05. I have 200 students, not now come to office hours. She has single handedly made my semester dreadful. Avoid at all costs.
Quite literally the worst professor/ teacher I have ever encountered. I will most likely need to retake this class in the future because of her poor teaching skills. Questions are never answered, she even once put her hand in my face and walked away when I raised my hand. Every subject is over complicated for no reason. I teach it all to myself.
This class was awful. I had so much anxiety because of her poor teaching skills. You cant ask questions. She goes on rants about unrelated things. This wouldnt be a hard class if she taught, but she doesnt.
She is the worst professor I've ever had. She is extremely rude and makes you feel dumb for asking a question. The only reason I did good in this class is because I took AP statistics in high school. I helped three of my classmates pass this class because they understood me teaching it better than her. Avoid her at all costs.
I utterly hate her. She would say weird things to us and just didn't feel like she cared about anyone. I did not choose her as my professor. I asked her a simple question after class, and she cut me off and told me to come to office hours. She once said to our class "I don't care about your happiness." I'm not kidding. That's exactly what she said.
I feel she knows the subject matter but I'm not sure that she knows how to teach. We spent over a month on introductory chapters because she did not want to "move too fast" and we had 6 chapters to cover. I would not recommend taking a class if she is teaching it, you will not learn well if you need further explanations.
Professor Junius was probably the worst professor I have ever had. She was rude to students when they asked for help, and never helped those that were struggling. She spent the entire class doing one or two problems by herself on the board while we just sat there and watched. I would never recommend taking her as a professor for this course.
Professor Junias was one of the most awful professors ever. She came off as if she didnt care if you needed help and wanted you to reach out by email not in person. Since we were on zoom for the remainder of the semester, we were supposed to have regular scheduled classes. We did not. The material was to be learned on our own. She was awful. 0/10
She is very unclear in her explanations. She comes up with problems for us to work on, off the top of her head. She then works the problem out with all of us, but midway through class she'll realize she made a mistake from the beginning. A middle school math teacher could do her job better. 0/5 stars. Worst teacher I've ever had & it's not close.
Horrible, plain and simple. I had her for two classes. I have a medical issue where my doctor wants my tests to be spread out to avoid extreme stress. From my experience she clearly doesn't give a crap about the students, their grades, or even their health. In no way is she good at her job.
Took my only required math course and this was the worst ever. If you have trouble understanding people of Indian descent, DO NOT TAKE HER. I could maybe understand 5 words out of the whole lecture. She is just awful and absolutely sucks as a prof. Can't teach to save her life and should not be a professor!! STAY AWAY!!
Avoid at all costs, but if ur a CS major it is hard to avoid her. Scatterbrained, can't convey basic thoughts, avoids answering basic questions and is condescending to students. You'll have to teach yourself everything. Just show up for class and pretend to listen to her, but teach yourself using textbook. WCU CS department is shameful.
No, just no. Claims you cannot work and take her class at the same time. Thats how some of us are able to get by, pay for classes and our bills, her comment about that was so condescending. Homework every day, class time is spent showing how to solve two or three problems. Really, you wont learn anything from her.
She does not care about you. She refused to talk to me after class because Im a sophomore and doesnt care if you have accommodations for learning disabilities. She will not teach you anything and makes you use a website to learn. She constantly writes problems wrong on the board and the class has to fix it for her because shes so clueless.
MAT115 is an algebra class.. i'm only here because a higher math is not required for my major. i know algebra, & i feel sorry for people who don't & are taking this class. she is so unclear with explaining, she makes mistakes often, & she is not truly caring. WE HAVE TO WRITE DOWN QUESTIONS BECAUSE SHE CANT UNDERSTAND OUR ENGLISH. she blames masks.
The worst teacher you will ever have. DO NOT TAKE HER! I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING SWITCH NOW
The class itself is easy enough, but never ever take a class with this professor. She is awful, only relies on ALEKS for everything, and does not care for students.
Avoid this professor at all costs.
Professor Junius is awful. She seems like she knows the material, but she is not a good professor at all. Lectures are useless, and so are her review sessions. She is also unreasonable at times. Avoid her!
I'll be as brutally honest as I can. She just is not a good teacher. She assigns homework and will not ever have taught it in class. You need to look over slides on your own and learn everything in your own time. She wont teach it to you. She is very hard to understand and just overall is a bad professor.
absolutely horrible. She is hard to understand on a good day, let alone with a mask on. When someone asks her a question she cannot comprehend, and you have to write it on the board or paper for her. And then she still doesn't answer you. She is very degrading and nasty- DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS
Very disorganized and takes too long on problems during lecture
While the course material was easy, she did not make up the lectures herself. She went off of ALEKS. She would make us do chapters that took way to long to complete and had nothing to do with the exam. Everything was on ALEKS. Overall easy, she’s just rude and relies on the website. She was also hard to talk to outside of class hours
I am begging all of you to never take her. I was assigned to her class because I couldn't pick as an incoming freshman. You will go through an entire class and only ever get one problem done. She talks in circles and contradicts herself. She is genuinely rude to her students. You're out of luck if you need help or clarification.
Really rude and treats you like a child. Iv never had a professor make me feel less than but she really made an effort to do that. I passed this class with learning the topics on my own time it really was alot harder than it needed to be if she utilized class time for math other than preaching.
Premalathla, more like prehistoric. My Grandma could teach me STAT better and she's been dead for 4 years. She only get through one problem, rambles, and never actually gets anything done. If you fix her mistake she gets upset. In additon, she constantly discriminates against those with disabilities. Switch professors if you get her.
worst professor ive ever had. class isnt hard if you teach yourself but she doesnt teach. also has this cool ability to go deaf after asking questions to the class. would ask you what she did wrong when teaching new material. DO NOT TAKE AT ALL COSTS
[Discrete Math] She is not a good teacher, she will not be able to answer any questions you might have, any time a question is asked she acts confused for a couple of minutes and then moves on with no explanation. SHE WILL INSIST that her course DEMANDS 3 hours of work every single night (you probably only need 3 hours a week to get an A).
Took this class completely online and was easy to pass but she was an awful professor. Never knew what she was doing and wouldn't answer emails for days!! She's a nice lady but needs to find a new profession.
TERRIBLE. plain and simple. gives ridiculous amount of pearson homework, and is extremely unhelpful. Has students teach for her, and is just outright rude to her students. Also takes half of the class to preach. Another thing that rubs me the wrong way is not being able to raise ur hand, and instead writing on a piece of paper to be brought to her.
Do NOT take this class with her!!! She is an awful professor. She never answers anyone's questions that is actually helpful, and half the time she goes "i don't know if that's right" after writing problems on the board. I recommend to never take your math class with her especially if you can't self teach. Tests are super hard, online. 0/10.
I could say so many things about this class, I have never experienced a professor like this. Math is difficult for me, and its not helpful to only get through 3 problems in 75 minutes of class time with her. It takes more time to write down a question on a piece of paper and send it up to the front of the class instead of just answering it??
There is so many things wrong with this class. Assigns you an insane amount of homework and says you need to spend an hour every day to even pass her class. She is absolutely rude; it astonishes me that the university would hire someone like this. Pleas avoid and don't make the mistake I did.
Assigns tons of homework. Heavy accent and wears a mask in class so its hard to understand when in class. Test are on my math lab and she doesn't grade any partial credit for work.
I took this class for about a month, during which she did not teach and lectures would only entail her solving problems on the whiteboard. I dropped her class and I honestly think it was the best decision I could have made. By dropping the class I ensured her awful teaching abilities would not affect the 3.89 GPA I received at the semester's end.
Do not take this professor. I struggle with math already and her class made it so much harder for me. She only covers about three problems during the entire lecture and is very hard to understand. tests are only 12 questions and there's no partial credit.
Do not take. She's very rude and hard to understand because of her heavy accent. She puts students on the spot. She spends the whole class on 2 problems and gives a lot of homework
not a fan, she will not try to understand your circumstances and give you a second chance at anything. No extra credit. I like math but I hated this class. She uses Pearson lockdown browser and mymathlab, both are really annoying imo. The tests don't always align with the difficulty of the homework assignments.
Just so boring and pretty rude to her students. Does not let anyone get a word in. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
This is beyond the worse professor i ever had. She doesn't answer student's questions and she often put them on the spot. She never answers her email unless it's convenient for her. 0/10 i absolutely do not reccomend. Honestly, if you want to get a low grade or fail . . . Premalatha Junius is the one to go to :(
One of the worst classes I have ever taken. On multiple occasions I have met with her for extra help and she doesn't let you talk nor does she encourage you. she has told me I would fail her class and I don't pay attention in her class if I don't know how to work through the material even though I am one of the only students who pays attention.
This is by far one of the biggest embarressments for the math department. She gets mad and talks to you like a 10 year old, no logic or reason. She locked me out of mylab and threatened me since I was skipping class even thought her syllabus allows it. I had to go complain to the math dpt head for that to get fixed. Said I would fail.. I have an A+
Hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. Zero communication skills. You try to ask her a question and she cuts you off mid sentence and goes off to explain something else. The lessons she presents have hardly any correlation to homework assigned. She is horrible at explaining the material. I really don't know how she has a job as a teacher.
the course work is easy, but she is so slow in teaching. brushes of students asking questions and talks over them. 1st exam was on paper and the rest were in person online. she does give lots of partial credit which gave me a +20% on exams. easy class if your learn how to do it outside of lecture. i learned bc of the homework (mymathlab)
I honestly have no idea how she is a professor. I ended with A+ only cause I worked on the Pearson homework for hours teaching myself EVERYTHING. If you can't teach yourself, this class is setting you up for failure. She has horrible hearing so you have to yell and she also (maybe unintentionally) embarrasses students daily. Truly a horrid class.
Class was mostly problems written on the board or from a google doc, then her standing at the board solving the problem. She talks more to the board than to the class, she requires lockdown browser for her exams which is literal spyware and I do not want that on my personal device and since it is spyware, school devices don't have access to it.
I don't see the hate for this professor. She can seem intimidating at first but once you get to know her she is very nice and cares for her students. Class is very easy, as long as you complete your homework you should have no problems with the tests. Lectures can be dry at times, but I did not have a problem understanding or getting help from her.
This women doesn't believe disabilities, had to file a complaint with the school. The school told me this happens often and moved me from her class. Unless you are self sufficient don't take this class.
Her lectures may seem intimidating but if you go to her office hours she'll break it down to a point where it all makes sense. She gives a lot of second chances with extra credit too. Always go to office hours, it's very important if you want to succeed. She takes care of and understands all her students which is very impressive and nice.
Dr. Junius is an incompetent professor. Avoid at all costs. She even treats students unfairly, offering extensions to those she likes while telling other students no.
Terrible. Lecture was largely useless. It was impossible to ask questions because of communication barriers and she was very rude sometimes. The material for 125 is pretty straightforward, I taught myself entirely by the homework tutorials. You'll be fine, but take it with someone else if you can manage.
overall awful. i was living in the hospital with my father and she told me to "keep studying" i missed an exam due to a death and she fought with me to make it up and then never graded it. take any other professor
Her lectures are quite confusing when she wouldn't even know the answer herself, and then when corrected by a student she would get angry and tell them no. If you fail one TEST, you are cooked. I failed the first test and can only get my grade back up to a 70%. No extra credit in my class. Overall, nice person just would never take again.
She is an extremely odd person. Kind of creepy. She's super unorganized and doesn't explain the material very well. I got through this class by teaching myself through the Pearson homework she gave us. She does care about her students a lot, so you will pass as long as you're not lazy.
She is one of the worst professors I've ever had. She belittles students, "teaches" at a sloth's pace, and has daily tangents about topics that don't matter. She's terrible at teaching the material and makes attendance mandatory solely to ensure students show up. This class was a terrible experience, I highly recommend avoiding her at all costs.
Dr. Junius is a very lenient grader, if you score badly on a test you can come back from it. However, to do well on tests, I found myself working several hours outside of class per week and having to teach myself most of the concepts on the test.
lectures were pointless but attendance counted as a grade so thats why i went. you could easily pass the course by teaching yourself. exam quizzes came directly from homework assignments. she really cares about her students but she can come off as intimidating or condescending. nice person, just not a great professor overall, kinda feel for her.
Dr. Junius is a very caring, but older professor. She relies heavily on Pearson. I found her lectures to be helpful when you pay attention, and she is usually available for extra help. She means well, and she does look for feedback from students. I wouldn't recommend her to everyone, but if you have her and work hard you'll do fine.
If you can take this class with any other professor please do! I don't think she knows the curriculum or how to teach it. The homework and quizzes and pretty easy but the tests are NOT (they are a decent part of your grade...) You will most likely learn nothing. The only thing that got me through this class was my AP Stat Class in high school.
The professor's teaching style may not suit everyone, but going to office hours and using resources like unstuck ai can help you succeed. Expect a challenging but manageable class if you stay engaged.
i absolutely hated this teacher, worst teacher i've had in my life. she makes it as though she doesn't care about the students at all. for me personally she treated me different than the other students and so i filed a report against her, other than that her teaching style isn't effective at all
Dr. Junius is a caring professor and was very accommodating to me- people seem really hesitant to ask for her help, but she is willing to work with her students. She loves math so much and would encourage the class to work together and come see her during office hours. Just be patient, do the pre-class work, and see her if you're struggling.
She is a bad teacher. Plain and simple. I learned more from the practice quizzes than from her. I don't even know how to describe her style. But do the practice quizzes cause the test is literally screenshots from it. It is relatively easy, but she annoys and bores me.
In class she goes over 5 questions maximum from homework. Often she gets the question wrong and when corrected by her students she skips the question and then rants to us about life lessons on how to be successful in life. She's a college professor, NOT our therapist. She will def be fired in a few years from the amount of students she has failed.
Her teaching style is different, but 9/10, it's ineffective. She doesn't grade half of the practice quizzes/quizzes, which is easy points to boost your grade up. When asking a question to her, she is either confused or gets it wrong. The exam is screenshots from the online practice quizzes. If you fail one exam, you might as well retake the course.
Worst professor ever. Showed students grades to the whole class and then didn't know how to "close the tab". Boring class. DONT HAVE HER AS YOUR PROFESSOR
She gave me a Violation of academic integrity and ON TOP OF THAT she "accidentally" send an email to my WHOLE CLASS with it.
I did not like this professor at all. She is a very slow teacher and goes through very few problems each class. It was very focused on the online textbook, as well as basing all the grades off of attendance, homework, and tests. She would regularly take time out of class to lecture us about doing homework. I do not recommend this professor.
Her teaching style is different and a little over the place, but that's because she is very passionate about Math. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to pass the class. The practice quizzes/quizzes weren't graded, but they were very similar to the exams. Overall, a very kind and genuine professor that cares about her students.
Found the class really difficult. Had to hire and pay a tutor to not fail. Did hours and hours of homework. Do not take this class.
ME PERSONALLY! I WOULD NEVER TAKE THIS PROFESSOR AGAIN HOPEFULLY SHE NOT MY CALC 143 PROF NEXT SEMESTER!! BUT WHAT I CAN SAY IS SHE SEEMS NICE ALTHOUGH SHE SAID NEVER HEARD OF EXTRA CREDIT (SIDE EYE) COME ON NOW STOP THE CAP!! WE WERE GRADED ON 4 TEST A FINAL EXAM, HOMEWORK AND ATTENDENCE WHICH IS NOT BAD AT ALL! JUST DONT DO IT MY LOVES :)
Bad with emails
Sent me an email recommending that I go to see a therapist on campus even though she does't really know me.
She is not super aware, but really wants students to do well. If you ask her questions and are patient you will definitely learn from her.
Lectures were slow and unorganized assigns 50 questions of hw and takes over half the semster to grade work she had trouble understanding our questions learned more from the textbook than from her
Going into the class I was scared since Dr. Junius had so many bad reviews. However, I thought she was a really good teacher. I'm not good at math and I thought the class was easy. She gives you the textbook for free. She leaves feedback on your tests and you can go in for office hours with questions. I would recommend taking her class.
