Hot. One of the best looking professors I've ever had.
Learned little. Avoid if possible.

Students teach the course. Professor criticizes. Course has little practical value for future teachers.
She is not bad. You must participate and do the reading for there are surprise quizzes. You need to do an oral presentation and 50 hours of fieldwork. There is a lot of work including a final paper consisting of five lesson plans. It is something you don't wait until the last minute to do.
do yourself a favor and avoid her class she is more concerned about fixing her lipstick than she is with teaching..very boring class!!!!!
AVOID THIS TEACHER AT ALL COSTS.She is more concerned with playing the "victim" role(of a "white supremist society")than with teaching the course. The only thing I really "gained" from her class was a deeper desire to stomp out liberalism. If you don't agree with her points of view your grade suffers.
Straight up WITCH!! She was and is the worse Professor ever. She plays this I am on your side role and in the end plays the side of the Devil. She isn't about teaching she is about being ignornant and lieing to the students.
She is very lazy, and doesnt really teach, but expects you to do the readings and explain them in class.she does not stick to the syllibus and gives way too much workload. This class will be relevant to you only if your an English Ed major. To do well you must agree w/ her beliefs.
She was the WORST!!! She's holding on to some bad 7th grade memories and preaches about how to teach when she, herself, has never been a teacher. The worst class I have ever taken.

not only do i think she is a greta teacher but a wonderful person as well. With a simple e-mail or phone call she is always available to meet during anytime that would fit both schedules. she grades fairly and inspires her students to strive harder if only you approach her.
DO THE READINGS!!! She gives two quizzes and if you do the readings they're easy. If you have any questions about the papers go see her and she'll help you out with your topic and it will show you care about your grade. This class is an easy B+, to get an A you just need to participate more.
Reading these reviews you would think she was a horrible teacher. But, she's not. I normally would never post to a site like this but I felt compelled to do so after reading all the hateful remarks. It's one thing to vent your frustration towards a teacher, but I think this goes a little too far.
This class has to be one of the most interesting classes out of the education classes.I read some of the others had to say about Parmar and I must say you guys are pathetic and unhappy because you are afraid to learn and hear another point of view. Please do you selves a favor and GROW UP!
I love how a bunch of anonymous and ignorant cowards can bash a professor because they are unable to comprehend her material. Parmar is powerful, she is intelligent and caring. Even non-education majors should take her class just to be enlightened.
Professor Parmar is an insightful, amazing professor. She teaches you the importance of incorporating literacy in each class of the cirriculum. She provokes interest in teaching, especially in oppressed situations-poverty, racial, etc. which is prevalent in our present state of being in America.
she is brilliant, amazing, and has been under attack by racially-biased, misogynists
I personally have nothing against the professor, but I don't think she is a good teacher, and I will not take any of her classes again..she seems to think the world is against her because of her ethinicity..but its actually her teaching style thats the problem...she is a nice person though.
COOL Professor, EXCELLENT course! If you don't like her style (facilitator) or like to be challenged to think outside of the box, then you won't like this class. HAVE to read in order to get it. She's for empowering ALL of us; if you're not with that, you won't like her or the course.
enlightening and insightful class. professor is caring and open to other ideas. will challenge you though... but not penalize you. READ and you'll do well.
I must agree w/ the people who said they enjoyed the class because it was easy, it was VERY easy, however, for Parmar, she is a horrible teacher who is totally SUBJECTIVE in her grading although she "tries hard not to be". She's a poor excuse for a professor. She's a nice woman, not a good professor
Loved the class and discussions. Finally, I was able to speak freely, even if people, including the prof. disagreed with me. One of the best profs in the Education program!!!
she is a very good teacher, one of the best ive had in this college. if you want to learn and want to be challenged take her course. its worth it.
Not a serious academic course. Lots of "chit-chat" . If you want a good grade for class participation, be very negative about race relations and america. She likes to hear negative comments. I learned nothing to help me become a better teacher. It is a shame to think I paid money for this course.
Positive comments here are from Parmar herself writing them to offset the honest and horrible reviews here. She's an inept **** who parrots borrowed opinions and doesn't have a clue when challenged. Serious psych issues. Ask anyone. The only credible reviews here are negative ones. Oughta be Fired!

If you do not agree with this professor, you will dislike the course. In any case you will learn very little. Ironically I agreed with this professor's politics, but I disliked the course because of her attitude towards certain students and the fact that I learned very little. My worst course!!!!!!
I think Prof. Parmar is a shining light in an antiquated educational system. She gives voices that have been historically oppressed a chance to be heard. You may not always agree with her but you can't help but be moved by her unwavering commitment to social justice.
Very unwilling to allow students to express opposing viewpoints.
Are you people kidding me? Go ahead, complain about her grading style. She's preparing you to be a teacher, and if you can't hack it -- you deserve to fail. Buck up and follow the rules, chicas. You're going to have to once you're certified.
Prof. Parma is a diligent, committed teacher. She demands critical engagement from her students - if you can't hack it - become a corporate exec.
Horrible! Was this a politics course or an education course? I have never been so offended by a teacher in my life. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone during her uncalled for rants about the US of America. Grades students on their political beliefs. Any positive remarks here are from the Professor herself. Avoid her at all costs.
Good Prof! Cares bout all her students & their views and experiences. Allows & expects u 2 speak in class. very approachable. Decent readin, writin & exams. Healthy class discussipns. Donworry if she disagrees with ure views, she migth challenge u but she will not grade u on ure views. 1 paper. 5 lesson plans. 2 in class exams. Someitmes quizes.
Best course! You learn things other's won't dare touch. The professor politicizes education b/c EDUCATION IS POLITICAL...if you don't believe it, visit some BK schools and tell me it's not political! Don't like to be challenged or to debate--grow up! Speak up-she will NOT penalize you if you disagree; I disagreed at times and was not penalized.
Learned the most from this class than any other course taken...real applicable things that I'll need to be a teacher (History). A lot of reading is required but the prof knows her stuff. I liked the debate format and openess to hear different views...although some students were'nt ready to hear opposing views!
I agree with the student who said that positive feedback must be from the professor or her friends. Course was awful. All about her politics. Does not help you become a better teacher. She has had very limited experience in a public school. Avoid wasting your time with this course.
This course teaches stereotypes. It does not help improve teachers. Luckily only a few students took the course seriously. If you want a good grade, just agree with Parmar during the inane discussions. She is one more reason why Brooklyn College does not have a very well respected Education Department.
She seemed OK the first class but so many people started telling me she is very unfair among other things. I kept an open mind. Well, they were all right. I don;t know what to do now, I can't believe they let this teacher continue on at this school. I've got a good GPA so I'm no slacker. THeir Ed. dept is very irresponsible to continue to keep her
she teaches the curriculum, not necessarily her views.she is an ideal and fair person.Review all the readings the night before the midterm and final.Start your reflection essay and lessons early. They require more time than you think.I tried my best and i got an A.Participate.She just asks that u try.She is helpful. She's HOT AND SMART:a turn on 2 me.

this professor KNOWS her stuff and NYC schools and more importantly our students...the teachers and schools she works with can testify to that b/c i am one of the high school teachers that have taken on of her classes. BK College is fortunate to have a prof that is courageous and willing to reveal the social injustices that exist in the system!
Awesome course/professor. She's down to earth and takes the time to listen to all concerns. A lot of reading but participate & you'll do well. Prof. challenges us, is extremely knowledgeable and respects all of our opinions. Contrary to what "some" people claim, many stu's I speak to enjoy the course and find it useful, esp the lesson planning.
She is a nice teache, too serious but still nice. She requests for a lot of works but if we do those we can get an "A-" o more. I really recommend her.
Waste of time. Professor exploits social issues for little benefit.
Worst professor I ever had. Useless discussions around her own personal biases. Poor excuse for an education course.
Just like all the other ED courses in BC..doesn't really prepare us for teaching, first class i actually wrote lesson plans in but i wouldn't say it was that helpful..i could've looked the info up online.Prof parmar is okay, not the best...but definitely not the worst either, do her assignments the way she wants and you'll be fine
Prof.Parmar is a great teacher. She expects alot from her students, but she is extremely fair. As in all classes, as long as you do the work you'll be fine. Hardest part is the 5 lesson plans-but if you have 1/2 a brain and you actually do the work, she will definitely give you an A.
She has a very old fashioned attitude towards the students, namely she considers herself above the students. If you want a good grade, pretend you agree with her. Course is useless for teacher preparation, but a necessary evil. Avoid this prof if you can.
Prof is kinda tough (in course work) but helpful and nice. i'm student teaching now and actually used some of the lessons I wrote in ED 64 during student teaching. Very useful course in preparing lessons and awareness of different issues. would highly recommend!
Pryia Parmar is a giant—unfortunately not an intellectual one. She parrots educational platitudes and expects you to do the same. Her class is radical and ridiculous. Indeed, her views belie commonsense. I highly recommend this class if you want an example of how NOT to teach! Espouse moderate or conservative views at your own risk. nugohse
Avoid this teacher. She demands alot and she does not know how to teach.
After listening to this Ms. Parmar excoriate and denigrate the U.S. it isn’t difficult to understand the basis for wiretapping. Her views are poisonous and pernicious. Take this course (and her meaningless drivel) with a molecule of salt! Unfortunately ALL education majors have to pass through this brainwashing seminar. brainwashing
Boring political platitudes.
Professor Parmar is mad cool. She believes in Ebonics and allows us to speak it son. W3rd. She wants us to teacher Ebonics to our future students. They iz gonna get a mad good education. It is mad cool that Brooklyn College supports Prof Parmar and Ebonics. W3rd up ma peepz. We iz making fast gains cause of peepz like Parmar. Na mean.
Great Professor. I loved the discussions about literacy and ebonics. Had some great debates in the class. Parmar encourages everyone to speak their own views and is open to them. She admits that both she and her course is biased and challenges the student to research/discover their own philosophy. Great to learn about NY schools/ multiculturalism.
excellent professor. a must take
must take
If you agree with her politics it easy to get a good grade. Although I disagreed,I pretended and got an excellent grade. I enjoyed the course because the professor was fun to watch and the discussions were inane. Who could ask for more. Do not take this class with the expectation of learning something useful. Enter laughing and all will be well.
STOPP HATTINNGGG....Professor Parmar is madddd coool...stop talking trash losers
She didn't know what she was talking about most of the time. She was not helpful at all and was always trying to embarrass her students. She never gave any feedback on anything. Horrible Horrible Horrible!
Priya Parmar has made David Horowitz "101 Most Dangerous Academics in America." Take one of her Education/Political Science classes to find out more.
Dispite all the drama caused by her former students Dr Parmer is an exellent professor who cares about her students.I am urging all those who plan on takeing her class to approach it with an open heart and mind. This class changed my life!!!!
Luckily I researched this professor before taking the course. It was bad as the worst feedback I found, and it is not because of her politics. Google her before you take the course and read it carefully. Luckily many students have been recording her courses in case there are more incidents.
I've heard plenty of people say she's **** against the White America and it's White people and takes it out on White students..Well I am White, I recieved an A in her course, Parmar changed my feelings on Education and gave me more of a drive for my passion..She's WONDERFUL..IGNORE THE DISGRUNTLED COMMENTS FROM THOSE WHO PROBABLY FAILED MISERABLY
She holds some very unorthodox values, but she highly encourages independent thinking, really wants you to share your own views, and helps you develop analysis skills. Very fair grader and not persnickety about the lesson plans. There are enlightening discussions and you will know truths that the average person fails to see. She's very pretty too.
No matter what others say, Professor Parmar is a must take at Brooklyn. Unlike other professors, you learn valuable information that you can actually use in the classroom as a teacher. She's brilliant, personable, and you will do well if you speak up and express your own opinions. It also helps that shes HOT...
If Priya Parmar would try teaching the theories espoused in her college class in, say, a 7th and 8th grade English class, she would come to the transparently obvious conclusion that they're vacuous and misguided. It's pathetic that college professors never go into the public school system to test out their education theories. Perhaps she's timid.
best education teacher in that department. very helpful and easy grader. SHE IS NOT ****. she gives 3 easy tests and 3 lesson plans. she tells u excatly what is going to be on the tests. she doesnt lower ur grade if u speak ur mind wheather u agree or disagree with her. all u have to do in her class is be respectful of others and participate.
controversial but good
She was a nightmare. If you can avoid her you should!
you will most likely have her ed majors so listen up her tests and her classes are two different worlds, i can't stress thiss enough her classes have nothing to do with her tests!!!you have to know the text book word for word to get an A on her tests.. and her journals says on her Syllabus 1-2 pages, BUT it must be 2 pages to get full credit. READ
Awful. Avoid if possible. Dogmatic. the negative feedback is all true
GOOGLE "PRIYA PARMAR" BEFORE YOU TAKE ANY OF THE COURSES THAT SHE TEACHES. SHE BELIEVES TEACHING IS POLITICAL, I GUESS IT IS REASONABLE TO ASSUME THAT GRADING IS ALSO POLITICAL! THINKS TO PRECIOUS STUDENTS PARMAR CAN NO LONGER ABUSE HER POWER TO RAISE OR LOWER A STUDENT'S GRADES BASED ON THEIR POLITICAL POSITION. TAKE THE CLASS, BUT, BEWARE!!!!!
A must at brooklyn college. She's so dedicated and it rubbs off on her students. Her tests are not easy but she cares more about participation and lesson plans.. Her syllabus is golden (be there the first day, she goes over it) READ IT and you will get an A
The ratings say it all. The only good thing she has going for her are her looks.

Lovely professor.
This course is about creating "awareness." So one dimenional students need not apply.
A breath of fresh air. Especially during this time in our country when contradictions outweight truths.
I WALKED OUT OF HER CLASS AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER "AWARE" AND READY TO RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!!!
all bad comments are true. She probably made the positive comments herself.
Guess who's one the most dangerous professor in America? You're right if you guess Priya Parmar! Read all about it in 'The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America'!
I had her for more than one class. the best thing is she makes it clear what she wants and when it is due. she acts high and mighty but she always thinks ben franklin was a president lol.. most of the points she makes are very biased but i guess thats parts of the class-
She is very understanding. People are critical of her because she will challenge students on their views. But she is extremely fair and easy to pass if you READ!
Professor Parmar is the best. I LOVED her class. She knows her stuff she makes the class fun. Just dont expect her to hand anything to you. Thats the problem w/ BC students they expect things. She is a great teacher and I learned a lot. I just took her in summer 1. TAKE Her its really worth it. You just cant be lazy in her class.
If you agree with her,you will enjoy her class. If you disagree, you will wish you never took this class . She is not objective. Do not take this class seriously.
this professor is completely bias with regard to polital standing. professes only complete liberal ideology with no room for dissent. worst teacher I ever had.
Prof. Parmar is beautiful and unique human being. It is hard to find kind of people in the USA.But the only thing i dont like are her high hills SHOES. It makes her seem eccentric around others.
Actually she wasn't that bad. I enjoyed her class.
Great Professor. She is so pretty. I so got the hots for her<3
Tough, knowledgeable professor. Must read. Open to all opinions - even mine! Makes you aware deeply. If you are lazy, don't take the course. She uses tough love, cares for students if you show effort.
She was ok..she described assignments very vaguely but held high expectations. We chatted most of the time and there were presentations every class. It's a cool concept to learn from other students but she rarely spent any time teaching. I felt I was learning so much from the book that I didn't need to attend class because it was a waste of time.
This is a "thinking" class, brain-dead individuals need not apply!
Just make sure you know what your talking about, she is super smart and enjoys debate.
Awesome! I like her, she was the perfect professor
She's so pretty and always dresses to cool. She's an awesome prof. and is very interested in her students. ...
She also gives us real life situations so we can see why we need the class. She is an awesome professor that knows her stuff and take her ...
Awesome speaker and person, it seems. Would highly recommend
Awesome professor! I'm so glad I found out how to rate him!! She is awesome and never ugly like some other professors we have in our college.Priya Parmar is beautiful, sexy, and the wisdom of BC
Incredible...
She is a FUN.......
I absolutely LOVED this class! It is by far the best class I have ever taken! It taught me so much, preparing for life. She is such an inspiring and knowledgeable awesome professor.
She should be teaching a sociology class.class is not about lit its about race relations and how bad the board of ed is like we need a class to know that. She talks about alternative tests and how standardize tests are bad but that is how her tests are. It only matters how you do on her tests not really what you know.
She is so nice to everyone. The materials that she goes over are really helpful for your future teaching. She tries to help you create the awareness about bias and the dominant power that taking control on most media. Tests are fair since they are based on the things that she covers in class. Take her, you will learn a lot!
The class doesn't you literacy pedagogy at all but irrelevant leftist propaganda. The irony is that she is theoretically very ignorant. Extremely disrespectful and biased to students who refused to be copycats. Dishonest academically: Gives students she likes paper extension & good grades, but fails those who she dislikes. ED Dept is irresponsible.
The teacher is not engaging, enthusiastic and well-prepared for teaching. Sitting in the class and being bored makes me want to punch someone on the face. Homeworks and exams are just "banking knowledge" that does not require intellectual thinking but memerizing her shallow lectures. Speaking of educational reform, what a failure the class is!
don't ever waste your time on this professor. You will be sorry for yourself.
Not easy, Not hard... but definitely interesting.
A more appropriate title for Parmar's class: Consciousness: A Love Story. "Constructed" personalities need not apply - This is a "thinking" class.
Not for the nimble minded. Better eat your wheates for this one.
worst teacher ever had
She is the worst teacher i ever had. Seriously i had nightmares about this professor. She exaggerates with the work she gives out.
Tough grader, and it felt like she didn't want to be there. Very hypocritical in her teaching.
Unprofessional, biased and has FAVORITES!
She has favorites and wants you to memorize things from the book word for word. She gave an open book test and asked for exact definitions. You don't really use your mind in her class you just agree with her and spit back the book. Worse prof ever!
Worst professor in Brooklyn college. Don't take her, trust me. Read the other comments, they would all agree with me.
Prof. Parma makes her class alway always a FUN. So don't hesitate to take her.
Prof. Parmar is one of the worst prof in Brooklyn College..Don't ever sign up for ED. 64 and take her course..She doesn't teach at all and her test are hard..She has one of the worst attitudes in the education deparment..WORST PROF. IN BROOKLYN COLLGEG!!!
I worked really hard, parcticpated in the class, and ended up with an A+. I don't see how people could think she's mean I thought she was really nice and really cared about her what she was teaching. I openly aruged against some of her opinions in class, and so long as I could back my opinion, she was fine with it.
be seen and not heard... to disagree with parmer is academic suicide
She wants what she wants when she wants it. BUT IT'S ALL CLEARLY IN HER SYLLABUS. (I lost a great amount of respect for her when she referred to Ben Franklin as a former president.) She is slightly full of herself, but all in all this was not a difficult class, and just as useful as any other edu class. (not very useful). *You must participate.
Parmar is an AWESOME Professor! I was a bit skeptical in taking her bc of what I read here (they're all liars), but Im glad I did! The class was interesting, engaging, and she was extremely helpful! I learned a great amount about the art of teaching! If you want a class that will definitely be worth your time and a great experience, take Parmar!
completely unprofessional -- does not teach you anything that is needed for a teacher's career but the craps that she claims to be her "theory"
She is so cocky, and the exams are on material that were not reviewed or taught in class. Her grading system is unfair too. She does not care about students; she is selfish and does not want to be there. (Texts while teaching) Go ahead, do not listen to me. Take her, fail, and then retake it.
I have mixed emotions.WAY to much on race and WAY, WAY too much of an undercurrent of WHITE bashing!! WAY too much!Changes the game while playing. Verbal instructions contradictory to syllabus too often for me. I'm not pleased with being forced to buy into this Hip Hop culture pedigogy she's selling. She shouldn't be pushing an agenda and she does!
Clearly, the way Prof.Parmar approaches critical pedagogy won't be to everyone's liking. You will, however, learn how to make your lessons relevant for your students. What I learned in Prof.P's class I applied immediately in my observation hours and lesson planning. This class is invaluable. Don't be so sensitive and open your mind and your ears.
I enjoyed this class and the things that I learned. Prof. P was very helpful when I needed her help. She has high standards for her students so this class is not an easy A. I did not want to take her because of the things I read on this site but I can honestly say she's a great professor. If you're a good student you have nothing to worry about.
I was very disappointed with her work ethic. She arrived late to almost every day; yet, she is hard on student lateness--terrible work ethic. I gave her A+ work; she gave me a B. My first B in any of my education class. If you want to learn how to become an effective teacher don't take her class.
If you want to know what life under commiunism is like (and as every Polak knows). You do what you are told, you think the way she wants, you write in your papers what she wants to see and you will get an A. Just like in communism, you will be taken care of, just do the above and if you won't you will fail or D(eath).
Prof. P is very clear on what she wants from her students. The only thing that she requires is to respect the structure that she has for some assignments the rest is up to the students. I learn a lot and she makes you think critically and seriously about teaching. Getting an A is not easy but not impossible; You have to work hard
I had Parmar for EDUC 2001 & 3401. Her expectations in both classes was clear. 2001 was a relatively easy class with class participation a big factor in betting an A. EDUC 3401 was challenging. This uses a revised edition of her doctoral thesis as text. It is a theory class, so find your way to first absorbing the theory before criticizing it.
She's a tough cookie, but just wants you to actually learn and participate. Do your work and you'll get the desired grade.
I am about to take this professor's class. I have not taken it yet. I'm looking for feedback from other students, as I am learning disabled. How does this professor handle students in her class with disabilities (specifically learning)? Any feedback is appreciated thank you.
She is only interested in pushing division between races. She is extremely nasty to white students as well as science and math students. You would ask for help and she would say no. She is not a nice person, this is the worst professor I have ever encountered. Do not take her class, she has major issues and a complex she is crazy. Google her
Professor Parmar is knowledgable but she comes to class as if she is already bored by the time she walks in. Her class is helpful in future lesson planning but asking for clarification from her is non-existent. She can be dismissive and condescending to her students at times. Although she is nice outside of the classroom, inside she is pretty tough
You will do well in her class if you do not question the assigned readings for your essays. In presentations, ask for clear expectation and be the 3rd presenter to a clear sense of what she expects. Her grading policy is very subjective bc she is not always clear on her expectations. Her poker face is real, you can't read her. Participation is key
This professor was by far one of the worst I have had. She is not very clear about her expectations. She's responsible for teaching future teachers, but only stepped foot in the classroom to teach poetry as a guest presenter. News flash: kids like guest speakers, you're not that special. Get over yourself.
Horrible professional. Has special interests on students
I keep posting positive ratings about this professor and it keeps getting deleted. hmmm. I wonder why. Maybe the government? This is my third attempt. Lets see if it gets deleted again.
She is the worst professor I have ever accounted for. She would put you down as much as she can. No matter how hard you work in this , you will still not be able to get a good grade. Don't take her!
This professor was clear on what she wanted and expected. We did a lot of group discussions and she always let you speak your mind. She respected whatever you said and always gave you a chance to be yourself. A lot of work but so worth it because you can learn a lot from her. She was one of my favorite professors so far in Brooklyn.
Here we go... THIS WAS THE MOST STRESSFUL CLASS OMG! Let me explain. The work is intense. Making lesson plans is no joke. Evaluating teachers based on the Danielson was ok. Lots of presentations. AND EXAMS. Participation is a must. She is not afraid to fail anyone who wouldn't seem like they'd make a good teacher. I wouldn't take her again.
Okay so I passed her class but the cost was working my ass off. The material is very hard to understand especially if you're not an abstract thinker. You need to show up to every class prepared and ready to discuss. Her final exam is based on your understanding of material she taught. I like her personally, but her teaching can be improved a bit
DO NOTTTTT TAKE THIS CLASS if you wanna get an A. This professor is a really tough grader. She dead took points off my hw just because i was 10 mins late to her class. She does not help her students. So selfish !!!! Prepare your self to read endless readings. She's not clear about her expectations at all. She takes attendance the minute class start
Honestly I had heard some questionable comment made about the Professor. However when we started class she was not what people had made her sound like. She cares whether or not you do well. As should all educators. She was the first one out of the two education I have had that made me write a lesson plan. She takes her job as a teacher seriously.
Professor Parmar has been one of my favorite professors as a college student. I took her for both SEED 3401 and 3402. She makes you work for a good grade, but the challenge is what will make us great teachers. I have learned so much in her classes. There is a course pack with readings and other materials. Be ready for pop quizzes and presentations.
She is very nice and understanding. Participation matters she even recognizes people who doesnt participate much and praises for doing so by going out of their comfort zone. She helped us understand not just the course materials but also any questions we had about becoming teacher and certifications. Loved this class!
She is a really caring professor and this was the first education class that genuinely helped me with teaching skills. It is a really informative class. Just do the work and participate and you will do well!
I'm surprised to see so many bad ratings on Professor Parmar but the good ones outweigh the bad ones and it's clear why. The course is common sense so if you do/did bad, that's on you. Do your work on time and participate and she'll love you. She's very respectable and gives good feedback and opportunities to correct work before grading. Take her!!
Professor Parmar is an amazing professor and an incredibly caring person. She always made the class interesting and engaging. Make sure you do ALL the work, participate in every class and do your best, if you do all those things you will get the grade you want. She is a tough grader but in the end, you will leave that class knowing so much more.
She is definitely a rough grader and will fail anyone she does not like. She does have good and valuable information you can learn from the class but she is not always clear on what is expected. She spends a lot of time on the small stuff and does not explain the assignments.
The best professor I had in the education department. Most SEED classes I took here felt way too easy. The work felt high-school level. Parmar's class is certainly more challenging, but it's also more rewarding. She is a tough grader but if you put in the work and pay attention to her instructions, you'll do fine.
AVOID HER AS A PROFESSOR!!! She will fail you just due to not having the same beliefs as her and will argue and say we are "Intitled" due to other not having the same beliefs. She is definitely a rough grader and will fail anyone she does not like. No matter how hard you work in this, you will still not be able to get a good grade. Don't take her!
Very informative class, I learned so much about education and how to become a good teacher. Participation matters a lot, readings aren't long. Assignments are fair. I would take her again.
Prof. Parmar's class is challenging but rewarding. Participation and doing the work are key to success. While a tough grader, she provides great feedback. For study prep, I found Unstuckstudy and ChatGPT really helpful alongside the readings. Would definitely take her again.
