He won't care you are beginners, he will make you study any little tiny detail in the books. His "lectures" are a slavish read of said book. He will never make you skip one thing, and if he says to skip anything you cannot trust him. You'll study night and day only to pass, *maybe*. 2/3 students dropped out before the end. DO NOT TAKE.
Professor King gives amazing and funny lectures. Test are extremely hard! He gives you study guides but don't bother filling them out. Homework and connect assignments help your grade a lot. Study hard and know the material! Overall good professor
Do not take him!! Professor king's lectures are just a summary of what is in the book on PowerPoint. All he does is read it in class, I ended up having to teach myself most of the material. Tests are multiple choice, fill in the blanks, and an essay question. Yes anatomy is suppose to be challenging but he doesn't really help.
Very knowledgable man, and does try his best to help you if you ASK for it. Does not make the class easy for you though. Hundreds of powerpoints, and the study guides basically tell you to memorize ALL the powerpoints which made it impossible to study for the test. If you want an easy class, this is NOT it.
Very unorganized and monotoned! I figured that on the first day of lecture class so thank God I got to drop that and take someone else. Unfortunately, I was stuck taking his lab. Like all labs, most grades are from Midterm and final. Don't expect any reviews or study guides. If you don't wanna teach yourself then take someone who's cooperative.
Great teacher and always in his office to give extra help. Don't expect someone to hold your hand through college. You have to do your part :)
He assigns loads of homework that have nothing to do with the chapter. So you spend about 5 hours a week doing his homework, on top of studying and teaching yourself the chapter. His tests are fill in the blank and essay questions. I would defiantly not recommend this teacher for A&P.
Professor King is a great professor! Anatomy and Physiology is not an easy class but Professor King helps you succeed. He cares about his students and always tells us to come see him or send him an email should we have any questions. He gives extra credit and gives hints on what will be important to know for the tests. I had him for A&P1 and A&P2!
Very difficult to study for his exams. A study guide is provided but its directly copied learning objectives from the book. I dont recommend this class!
Took his lab, he was very interactive and helpful! Great charisma, and knowledgeable. Would recommend! Even had some open book quizzes. The practicals are not an easy A, but it's a class where you should learn everything.
I had the professor king for two semesters. AP1 was difficult, However his AP2 class was easier. Take this professor if you really want to learn. He is fair, his syllabus sound tough but he is really a nice guy. The only people I know who complain about professor King are the ones who didnt try or maybe didn't show up to class.
I basically had to teach myself majority of material. He lectures a lot in class and doesn't really take into consideration that if you did not take nutrition or chemistry before this your basically screwed. Its hard material to begin with so pick a teacher that can be thourough because he flies through the information.
He is a great professor that cares for his students and gives you many chances to improve your grade. he is new and young and still learning but i had a very positive experience with him as my professor. take him if you can, he makes a difficult course a lot more bearable.
Awesome professor. Made class fun
Nice guy but bad at teaching. You basically have to go home and teach yourself! He talks so fast to the point he starts to stumble on his words. Gives you a lot of chapters to study and tells you what to focus on for the test however when you receive the test, its different and very confusing. if you WANT TO ACTUALLY LEARN, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
The subject is tough, with a lot of material to cover. BUT if you do the work, listen in class (show up is a BIG must), and spend time studying the material, you will do well. Professor King is very helpful and is always available during office hours and by email. Not an easy class, but you leave prepared for future classes if you take his class.
Although you need to read and pay attention to what he talks about in class, he is a fair grader. If you don't want to actually learn about the body anatomy, and be able to use the information in your career than this isn't the class for you.
Took Professor King For AP 1 and 2 because he is that great. He makes it clear that his class is not easy, but if your planning to go into the medical field than this is a great rude awakening if you have what it takes. He's very clear what to expect, homework and quizzes online help boost ur grades too. Answers questions. Makes class enjoyable.
I have taken Professor King for both Anatomy lecture and lab. He is very understanding and is willing to meet with students whenever necessary. His lectures are straight out of the book, so the content is pretty straightforward. Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2 are not easy classes, so prepare to work hard. I really enjoyed Professor King's classes!
Great Professor , Very Understandable and Helpful
Lectures are thorough and entertaining!
Great class, tough but fair.
His tests are really tough and he didn't cover the material in class much. You will have to teach yourself everything and it is a lot of information to know. He did allow us to use cheat sheets on two of the tests but there is so much information
Professor King is an amazing professor. He really knows what he is talking about. His tests are fair but hard if you don't study. His lectures help a lot and he gives lots of examples and jokes to help remember. He is also very caring and fair about grades.
Best science teacher, I've had in college. I prefer someone that is funny and knows what their talking about, professor King covers both of those. He's the type of professor that makes one want to go to class. HIs tests aren't challenging if you study weeks in advance. do not procrastinate
I did his 6 week online A&P I class. There are not a lot of lectures, but there is a lot of homework, which helps you learn the info. Also, 4 exams, quizzes and a final. He's very responsive by email and gives good explanations if you have a question. But, this class is for the self-starter with good study habits otherwise you can fall behind.
I saw myself struggling to finish homework on time and trying to make the grade. Half way though it, I gave up on learning, comprehending and assimilating the material and I realized it was all about showing completion (yes to papers/essays on every chapter) and passing. I did pass, and I still have a sour taste in my mouth.
quiz questions are on his exam so if you print them & study them youll already have 60% of the test questions right there. Most likely the other 40% of the test is a picture/something he will tell you to study in advance. i never did anything in the class. i would go home and listen to mastering A&P vids. also got 100% on all hw/quiz using google..
Be prepared for alot of busy work, little to no feedback, hard tests (with absolutely no study guide).
Prof King is really good at providing feedback and answers all emails promptly. Each chapter has a worksheet, a discussion, outline, quiz and mastering homework. This course online makes you work for your grade but definitely helps you learn the material.
Lots of busy work for this class. However, if you read the chapters and do the HW you will pass the tests. It's an online class, so he really doesn't do much teaching. The course is mapped out the same very week. Tests are monitored with webcam.
His lectures are online and in class, which is really cool because you can go back listen. He his office is open to explain. I love his class
I really enjoyed his lab class, and he cares about his students doing well. Just don't bring water in his lab class! Would definately take him again.
He is not awful but he isn't great and also makes too many lame jokes. There are quizzes on top of the midterm/final but they are not too bad as long as you are aware on what to study for and you try. He also tells you if you ask. Extra credit is offered and the exams are diagrams/labeling.
for each chapter he records himself just reading off 200+ slides word for word. Then U have to complete an outline, an essay and a quiz for each chapter. A unit includes around 3-5 chapters, fyi. After completing all the work for each chapter, there is an exam plus a discussion post. oh and ONE UNIT is due all at the same time. WORST class. NO HELP
summer class is a month long, be prepared to work from morning to night every single day for the whole month. he gives way too much busy work for a summer course. you'll spend ur time doing homework, essays, outlines, quizzes, discussion post and won't have time to study he's a nice guy but doesn't understand that this way of teaching doesn't help
Professor Kings summer class is tough, there is a lot of work but he is helpful if you get in touch with him. A&p is a hard subject but he trys to make it understandable if you put in the effort.
He is very understanding. However, every week there is an outline, quiz, discussion, assignment, and exam with webcam. It is way too much work that leaves no time for studying, let alone any free time during the week. The exams are materials straight from the textbook, but it is a ton of information. Just make a schedule and be organized to do well
Professor Kings online course for BSC2085 is a well-defined and interesting course. He makes you work for your grade and he is mostly available. I took the summer condensed class and would not recommend condensing this class. The biggest gripe I have with him is he attempts to change wording so that you cant memorize things verbatim.
Don't listen to the haters, this guy ROCKS. He is hilarious! He makes being in class fun. His tests are reasonable. He gives extra credit, he has resources for auditory learners ( youtube lectures,) and he's reasonable! Look people, its a lot of material, don't blame him for that because YOU are lazy and entitled. Im taking him again!
Professor King is a really good professor. Any question you have, he will answer right there on the spot. He is always available for his students outside of class. Quizzes are fairly easy if you study and test are the same. Make sure to show up to class and you'll pass with a solid A.
Professor King is really nice ! He will help you with anything you need. Definitely take him, he is very knowledgeable !
Professor King is an amazing professor! He really cares about his students and makes sure everyone understands the material. His exams are tough, but as long as you study the powerpoints and read the textbook you should be fine.
Prof. King is a cool guy. He basically tells you exactly what you need to get an A in his class. I studied the chapter reviews and read over the textbook at home and I did well on every test and quiz. Sometimes his jokes are funny, too.
Professor king probably made me like biology, I'm not a big fan of lectures or science but he made it interesting. During his lectures, he would relate his examples with everyday life experiences making things easier to remember. He's pretty funny, and overall a great professor (GOAT). Another thing skip class and you won't pass, simple.
Professor King is the GOAT! Made a tough subject understandable, but still requires work outside of class. The Professor is accessible outside of class which is very helpful
Hes the goat! Hes knowledgeable and accessible outside of class, but microbio is hard so theres no getting around that.
Professor King is tough but hes fair when grading! You have to go to class and he will make you work but he gives you everything you need to pass!
His expectations of tests are very clear, and hes hilarious. Would def take again
Professor King is a great professor. He is funny and you can tell that he truly cares about his class and wants them to pass. You do have to study a lot for the tests but the quizzes weren't that bad.
Professor King is a great professor and he tried to make the course as passive as it could be. His test were good , definitely have to study though but his quizzes were easier and the review questions on the book were so much help.
good man.
Awesome guy
Best teacher at PBSC! Just take him and you wont regret it!
Very inspirational and very well taught
Honestly not that hard of the class and the teacher was really chill
Professor king is the goat!
Professor king is the GOAT! He is very understanding and as long as you do the work you will pass. He also offers chances to get your grade up
Really fun professor he made the class a lot of fun. As long as you study and do the work you will pass easily.
He really tries to engage with his students and cared about how everyone is doing in his class because he wants everyone to learn and enjoy his class.
He makes the class really enjoyable and is always joking around with the class. As long as you do the work you will pass no problem!
He was a really cool professor! Really enjoyed "fun facts with professor king" during lecture and I recommend taking him because he really cares about his students.
As long as you do the work it is an easy A class and his lectures as enjoyable too.
Professor King is very fair and reasonable w his students. Hes also fun and will crack jokes from tune to time. The work may get complex but he will always help his students. He is a professor that genuinely cares.
Professor King is a great teacher! You can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches. You can miss class, but it is not advised, you will not receive credit for the day, and you will have to catch up on your own time. Professor King is very lenient when it comes to grades, but you have to get your work done. Easy class to pass!
Prof. King is really funny and extremely resourceful, although it was his first time teaching biology 2 i couldnt tell.
His lectures were very rushed and considering there was so much information, we were unable to grasp things at first chance therefore unable to ask questions in class. He constantly changes due dates on things. He also gives little to no indication as to what we will be tested on, so you are left just trying to memorize multiple chapters at a time.
If the way you learn is for the instructor to actually teach you and help you learn the material. This is not the class for you. Lots of tests, essays, outlines. He reads the book verbatim on a powerpoint. Awful lazy low effort cannot be reached on the weekends at all or pm! He offers his classes extras if you rate him high on this platform.
The course is crammed with so many assignments due each week. Each assignment requires you to read multiple chapters in the book. One assignment takes hours and youll have 5 due in one week. I wouldnt take this course again as it seems impractical so learn and successfully pass. If you do decide to take this course, do not take any other classes,
Worst online class I took in my life! And Ive only taken 3. He gives loads of home work, power points with 100+ Slides, doesnt drop lowest test grade. Must do discussions and papers. Doesnt say what will be on exams so you are stuck reviewing all the chapters. Final exam is 11 chapters. No study guides or anything that may help. Do NOT pick!!!!
DO NOT take this professor. He never responds to emails, he gives no study guides as to what is going to be covered on exams. Each exam is 3 chapters with lockdown browser and a webcam. He reads off of 200+ slide powerpoints and does not explain anything to students. Each week consists of an essay, a quiz, HW, and a discussion post. DO NOT TAKE!!!!
Professsor King was my best professors this semester. He responded to my emails even in the dead of night. I ran into some family issues and he was understanding and helped me to get back on track. Taking any class in 6 weeks is tough, but he made it as straight forward as he could despite the short timeframe. would definitely take him again!
Prof King is a tough but fair. I've heard good things about him from other classes and could tell he tried, but this class was tough. It shouldn't have been a summer class or at least not 6 wks. Lectures were rushed, tests were rough, hw was heavy. That's all to be expected in a shorter summer class though. Prof King was great, would take him again
Professor King was very understanding and would always reply to my emails in a timely manner. His lectures were a bit challenging and at times the content was intense however I think the class is worth taking.
Professor King is a great professor, super accessible outside the classroom for one on one talks, and even let's students text him if they have questions. The course is tough and there's a lot of work to do because it's a 6 week course, but Professor King really cares about his students and wants to see them succeed.
Professor King is amazing! He inspired me to work at a laboratory and I get to say I love my job every day! Professor King is straight to the point and shows you what you need to know. The quizzes and tests are exactly from the handouts and outline he provides. All you need for an A is to read and pay attention!
Not a professor i would recommend
Professor King really helped me through this class, he was available when I emailed him and even lets you text message him which I think is great! Any anatomy class is tough, but if you work hard you can do well. I would definitely recommend him for any class!
He is the best. I learned more in his class than in any of my other classes in this subject. Im so glad now that I am in my nursing program that I took prof kings class. Youre going to learn everything you need to know to succeeed at the next level. I dont know what some of these other reviews are talking about, hes tough but really good!
A little about this class. be prepared to study off of 200+ slides. Discussions and essay every week. Tests are in respondus lockdown browser. No extra credit or dropping of any test grade. No study guide for test he just says to go over the chapters and quizzes. There are better online professors to pick from. Trust me.
I had a lot going on this summer and professor king did his best to help me out in every way he could. Sometimes a summer class is just to short to get all the info in your brain. I'm taking him again in the fall because I loved his class, just wasn't making the best grade. A and p is hard in 6 weeks.
My favorite professor at PBSC by far. He is hilarious, he cares so much about each of his students, and he has a heart of gold. Regarding level of difficulty, his tests are from the Pearson textbook text bank, so it's not unreasonably difficult or lacking standardization. To pass, you need to understand the concepts on the lectures/power points.
The workload was much heavier than for most of my other classes, expect regular writing assignments + online MC homework. He is very responsive by email and the format is well-organized. Tests are MC, Respondus monitored. If you're pre-health sciences and need to really know this info more than get an easy A then he is great. I would take it again.
Overall a pretty easy class and nice guy. Unsure if he is actually a biology professor though seems more like he is filling in for the college. Definitely a liberal, so if you are apolitical or conservative don't interject. He gave speeches about politics during the course, which is unprofessional.
He is a great teacher and very easy going, especially due to COVID. His class can be somewhat challenging, when it comes to his exams you should make sure to study a lot.
I think it's easy to get a good grade in this class if you study for the tests. I didn't really give myself enough time to study between taking 5 classes, taking care of my son, and being pregnant. So I ended up with a C but that was totally my own fault.
I actually enjoyed taking Professor King's class. He is very interactive and has interesting discussions during class. However, he gets most of his questions online, for tests/quizzes, and they don't always coordinate with the class or are nonsensical. For example, a question on the quiz will say "look back at q. 4", but q.4 wont relate at all.
Professor King is not organized at all, he did not grade our stuff till the last day of the course so basically the entire time nobody knew their grade. The quizzes and tests had absolutely nothing to do with his lectures. Tests are on lockdown browser and since his lectures do not help you are on your own.
Assign 3 differ chapters all at once even before he teaches them,he has the computer pick random questions for quiz and tests which almost all have nothing to do with what we learned which he admitted but never fixed,we have asked him multiple times to fix our grades because we cannot see what we have in the class and he never fixed & makes excuses
Really enjoyed taking his class, he seems very passionate about the environment which made learning about biology really interesting.
Professor King was amazing! I've recommended him to all of my friends. I took him for both BSC1010 and BSC1011. Basically the course was based off of the PowerPoints provided by Pearson you can get by without the book. We had four unit projects which were not hard and a midterm and final exam. King makes biology interesting by tying in real life
King was one of the best professors I've had thus far. He is PASSIONATE about science and it comes through during lectures. He loves teaching and you will definitely learn more than bargained for. Some assignments including papers here and there (not hard), quiz on every chapter, tests are hard make sure to study, he allows a paper during test.
Profesor King is great! Lectures are amazing, he really cares about us as students. Every chapter has a quiz, every unit has a project to do at the end and every two units have a test, easy enough. Super easy to follow through and I really liked his way of teaching. Plus there is mr Kitty saying hello on some classes.
Professor King was a very good professor! Easy homework, quizzes for every chapter, and 4 exams. I recommend him for micro lecture and lab!
Clearly loves his field and finds ways to get everybody interested in the lectures.
Was a good class but there is a lot of material
Quiz with every chapter, but 2 attempts to get a good grade. Test at the end of each of the 4 units, Respondus lockdown for tests with 1 notecard allowed. Pearson is a must purchase $$$ with lots of HW, but the Pearson HW and study area really help with the tests. Decent professor, good grades are possible.
not a mean professor, just TOO many assignments, hard to keep up with. this isnt an intro class so the topics arent covered in depth b/c theres lots of material to get through. 1 chap every lecture, each chap has 1 hw assignment, 1 follow up hw assignment, 1 quiz, etc. overwhelming. im v bad at bio so once i started missing assignments i gave up.
I TOOK THE ONLINE CLASS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS DO THE WORK THE TEXTBOOK DOES HELP FOR THE LABELING DIAGRAMS JUST TRY YOUR BEST AND YOU WILL PASS
Online class. 4-5 assignments per chapter all on mastering. Some of his lectures are form 2018. Lectures really just go over the PowerPoints that are available to you. Has online study group with Maria twice a week (optional) but she makes things a lot clearly. Highly recommend using her. Exams are webcam but gives you an index card to use on test.
Unnecessarily long and hard. Each lesson had 2 assignments and a quiz. He kept all content locked until Wed night or Thurs so I always had to rush through to have things on time. I didn't know the notecard size until last min. Lectures he only read off the Powerpoints and not much interaction w/students. Often rants on non-related topics.
I took this class fully online. There were a lot of assignments but all the work is doable. He doesn't really get back to you but you rarely need to convene with him cause all the assignments are explained well. Most of the work is self-explanatory and you only have a few discussion posts. There is a tutor zoom meeting a couple of times a week.
Dr. King reads VERBATIM from the ppt slides during lecture & doesn't teach you anything. You have to teach yourself the material by reading text book & doing hw. Exams are very hard to prepare for, & he requires you to use Lockdown Browser WITH webcam on. He seems like he's out of his depth or may not be knowledgeable on the content of AP2. 0/10
Honestly my worst nightmare. Professor reads verbatim and I always have to teach myself everything because his powerpoints are not engaging in the slightest. The book is a better teacher.
Lectures read near verbatim from ebook/slides. No curriculum or study guide. Certain MegaQuiz answers/questions written in html, cannot decipher to answer. Quizzes 50% of grade, you've already paid for this class. Alerted professor, adjustments not made. Midterm is memorize 8 chapters. This does not make him difficult, but lazy teaching habits.
I would never take this professor again or recommend him. He has tried his absolute hardest to make the course as hard as possible. The class is very test heavy (50% of grade) and he uses lockdown browser for exams. There are a crazy amount of assignments due weekly (10+ at times). No late work or second attempts at assignments. Spare yourself.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take A&P online with this professor. A&P is hard enough with a good Prof. Some weeks had 10+ assignments due. Almost no elaboration on material & no guide on what to focus on. Just a lecture video reading 200 slide PP verbatim. I taught myself. Note-cards for exams are useless when you don't know what to focus on.
I think the grading system he has in place is designed to give you your lowest grade possible. I don't know why any professor would not allow extra credit. A lot of assignments due at once but they count very little towards your overall score.
His lectures videos are him reading the PowerPoint slides verbatim and very boring. He rarely elaborates on anything throughout the slides. He says his tests are based off of the concepts to know in the textbook, but it was mostly very specific questions. He just says if you need extra help go to his SA. A&P is a hard class even with a hood teacher
Do not take this course if you have three or more classes. Instructor assigns WAY TOO MANY assignments to do in one week. HE DO NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK!!!
