Great Teacher, possibly the best in the department; makes EVERYTHING understandable
Nice guy, great teacher. Easy tests.
one of the best math teachers, he helped me with calculus and made it so easy for me
I agree witht the rest of the comments. Absolutely amazing teacher with an overwhelming willingness to help. Will take time to work with a student one-on-one.
easy tests, teaches wonderfully. Finals are harder than reg. tests though.
Dr. Bogacki is the best professor in the world! He can teach you anything!
great teacher
A most excellent professor. Best teacher I have had out of all my math classes. If you want to understand the class you are taking and get an A or near an A, take him! Sample tests are very, very close to real tests (no matter what he says ;-))
Not only a good teacher, but an excellent researcher as well. I was using Matlab-Simulink, and in the integration options, suddenly noticed the Bogacki-Shampine method. Yep, up there with the best. I am truly honored to have been his student.
He's a genius!!! Seriously, just go to Yahoo! and search for Przemyslaw Bogacki... he's got stuff everywhere. He's also an AWESOME professor!!! Definately the best Math teacher at ODU. Take him and pass, stay away from Swetits (pronounced "Sweet**
He's the best math teacher I've ever had. He's genius and funny also. I enjoy being in his class. He always to students like "Come on, ask me for help anytime, I am your friend. I'm pleased to do so." =)
Very good professor, I will take him again for calc II. Tests are directly from notes. Very willing to help in any way he can.
i can't say enough good things about dr bogacki. i was very scared about doing calculus, but he made everything very easy to understand and he was very helpful and nice about everything. his tests come right from examples done in class, so go to class and do homework and you're set.
this guy is awesome, and one of the best math teachers around. the only thing about him is that he, like alot of smart people, is a little off. fighting (verbally) with this suck-up student who wouldent leave him alone in the middle of class! he was funny about it and i didnt like the guy anyway! ha
probably the best math teacher i've ever had, ever! he makes everything he teaches much easier than other teachres do, and his sample tests almost exaclty mirror his real tests
GREAT teacher! Funny, enthusiastic, helpful, and smart! Class is surprisingly easy for calculus-no big surprises on tests. Treats students like they are his friends and welcomes homework questions. I plan to take calc III with him this summer - wouldnt want to get stuck with anyone else in fall
Outstanding teacher for a demanding subject. Had him in the summer and it took a lot of time for an A. Should take during the regular semester if you are slow to understand the material. Will help you out as much as possible but dont expect curves or special favors. Very fair grader and no surprises during the exam. Prepares you sufficiently.
I don't understand why more professors aren't like this: humble, intelligent, helpful, willing, concerned.. I simply can NOT say enough about this wonderful man. Top Notch. That says it all. It just pisses me off when I see some other profs with their Egos and then I talk to this man... ARGH. He is awesome, MUST TAKE.
what can i say! i love this man...he is the best!
best instructor in the math dept.
I'm only half done right now and I can already say he is the BEST math teacher I've ever had. He'll help if you need it and he is great at making you understand the material. If you have to take a math class and he's teaching it, TAKE IT!!!
He is my inspiration...I want to be a math geek just like him...will take his 300 and 400 level courses if he teaches them
He is the best math professor at ODU! The others should learn from him. He deserves a good raise!!
He's a great teacher. He could make a pre-schooler understand calc 2. He definitely knows what he's talking about so if you have to take a math class, try to take his!
This guy is the best professor in the math department! Easy to understand, funny, interesting, and increadibly helpful when you go to this office. Dosn't make you feel stupid when you ask questions. If you can take any of this professors classes!
the best math professor in the dept. He cares.
He is the greatest.
This man is amazing. He isnt as easy as many may say but you will recieve exactly the grade you deserve. His tests reflect exactly what he teaches. He is always available after class and it is absolutely true that he will help you until he is blue in the face. The tests make up a large part of the class so study hard and know the practice tests.
I had him when i was in school. i learned so much from him, he was one of the bests. I am able to use a lot of his teaching methods now that i am teaching high school. He is the best!
He is extremely intelligent. Hasn't lost a step in helping any student with any math questions. Very clear and very helpful in clearing any cobwebs. Do the HW and sample exams. Expect no breaks though. You get what you deserve. Recommended for any calculus or linear algebra class.
It's always a pleasure to have him. You will not regret having him. Just do the homework and especially the sample exam. He's the GREATEST
Very, Very tall. But an excellent teacher.
If you're thinking about enrolling in his class, well DO IT. Drop other classes if you have to! He is very helpful. He grades you more on how you approach a problem rather than getting the correct answer. Visit him on office hours or before/after class if you need help. It's worth the visit. He tells you exactly what's on the test. Sample tests are a plus. He's Polish in case you're wondering.
I just wish that he taught all the math courses at ODU..wish more professors can be like him. This guy is simply amazing. I've learned so much from him
Take George Chackman and save yourself the grief.

Great prof. Very thorough. His in class tests are much easier than the departmental final. So be careful.
The best professor I ever had! He is so willing to help anytime! He explains his classes the way that you leave the class with ur lesson already learned. Doesn t check th HW but if u have question he will answer. I wish all my professors like him.

Great professor. Teaches in plain English and not mathamatese. He shows you how to organize the problem in order to solve it. Does not teach as if he's reading from a script like many professors who have taught a class a zillion times before. I left every class actually understanding the material. I changed my entire schedule to take his 212 class.
great professor, was always willing to help and always gave out study plans for the tests
Kind a funny guy. Teaches excellent. No Problem. Very Helpful.
BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!!! Dr. B is the man!!! Teaches extremely well, makes sure everyone understands everything when he teaches. Tests are fair .... awesome teacher
He is a great calc techer. i would take him through calc 3 if i could. he teaches well and is kinda funny. he makes jokes but most ppl dont really get them. he's really tall, too. take him! he's great.
I wasn't impressed from the jump, it went downhill from there and I'm not referring to a grade. Always says he won't insult "your intelligence" but it doesn't seem to mind insulting a lack of intelligence or memory. I was happy for it to end.
Highly Recommend! Gives Sample Tests. Lots of office hrs. Extremely knowledgeable. Helpful handouts. Well prepared for lectures. Willing to help. Interesting. Good humor. You have to work hard, but thats because of the fact that its Calc III. No curve but he's very willing to give partial credit. Can get an A if you put in the effort and ask ?'s!
if you really want to learn calculus, he can be very helpful
I had a friend tell me that he was a great Calculus teacher, and I just took Linear Algebra with him. My friend's opinion of him was nothing but confirmed. He was very good and I'd highly recommend him! Also, he is insanely smart...if that even gives him enough credit.
This guys is an excellent teacher. He makes sure he teaches to all styles of learning and gives very clear expectations for exams and quizzes. The only downside to him is that he won't make you do tough problems. If you are going on to a higher level course and aren't good at going above and beyond on your own, take someone else.
Awesome professor. Made taking a summer Calculus class pretty stress-free. Exceptional explanations, very patient with questions, well prepared.
MR. B is an amazing teacher! He is very good at explaining things in a way that's easy to understand. I just wish I could take him for Calc 3 as well, but alas, I cannot.
Impossible to fail his class. If you do its because you didnt go to class and didnt do the HW. He hands out supplement problems that are helpful and teach you how to solve problems. He is very detailed and clear in his lectures. I hate math but loved his class!
awesome teacher! Pay attention in class because his explanations are much better compared to the horrible university calc book. supplementary problems are so good at helping you practice for the quizzes and exams, you dont even need to open up the book! attendance not mandatory, but you should come every class. he will learn your name and help out
Awesome Professor. I hated math until I took his course. Just make sure you do the homework and if you have questions ASK! Very helpful, and doesn't insult your intelligence!
This guy is as good as they get. He'd be sharper after 12 shots of Johnnie Walker than your average Math professor on their best day. Alas, the first half of Calc 3 is much simpler than the second half-- and so Dr. Bogacki had to rush through the hard parts. He'd do well to consider this in the future, and to restructure his course accordingly.
Dr.Bogacki is extremely harsh when grading.Tests are hard, final is painful!
BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD ! I absolutely loved him having him as my teacher ! He was helpful and you can really tell he has a strong passion for MATH ! I now love and enjoy math because of him ! He has a wonderful sense of humor and is polite and kind, and does not insult your intelligence ! I am definitely taking him for other Calculus classes!
AWESOME
The Best teacher EVERR ! The should make duplicates of him and allow him to teacher all math classes. This teachy is as good as they get ! TAKE HIM ! MATH will seem so much clearer !
Professor Bogacki's classes are usually the first ones to get full when registeration time comes. He is a very knowledgeable professor who grades tests failry and tries to help the students as much as he can. At times the professor might speed things up do to time constraint (as well as days missed due to hurricane event), he is as good as it gets.
I took him in the summer. He really is a great teacher. Honestly he is the best math teacher that I have at ODU. You need to do the homework because it really helps. Also he gives study guides for all the tests.
He is a boss.Best Math Professor there.
He is super nice, easy to follow and always willing to help if you ask! Provides sample tests for practice and conducts a review in the class meeting before a test. He is very knowledgeable and able to break down even the hardest items so that everyone can understand.
Mr. Bogacki is the best math (MATH 211) teacher I've had. He made calculus very easy to understand. He's very clear and helpful. He has a lot of office hours. Make sure you come to class and everything will fall to place. I definitely recommend him.
Dr. B is an excellent math professor. Very helpful and easy to understand. He is very interested in the subject matter.
Calculus I is the hardest Calculus because of all these new ideas and algebra abuse, BUT... Dr. B is an Awesome professor, trust me, just take his class all the way through calculus, seek help if needed, and do the homework, calculus is a wicked subject, practice makes it so much easier
Was the class I looked forward to everyday. Dr. Bogacki made sure that we had everything we needed to master the material and if you happen to have a question he will almost always reply to emails within an hour.
Awesome class to take over the summer. He has written his own Linear Algebra book which costs around $15 to have printed and shipped to your house. The book is very well written and the course was fascinating. Great Professor.
Best lectures in die Welt
Best Math Professor Ever! Sign up and find out why!
This guy is as good as math professors get, unmatched in clarity. Former students are not exaggerating when they praise him. He's honestly the best math instructor that I've ever had up to this point in my life - he will do everything under his power to help you succeed, you just have to be motivated. If you're bad at math, take him!
This guy's passion for maths is contagious, he has a talent for teaching and his lectures makes you see the beauty behind the relationships between formulae and numbers. I never really liked maths in the first place, but I enjoyed this class and looked forward to it.
Great teacher! Goes above and beyond to help any students! Definitely the best math teacher I have ever had!
Very good math professor. Always helpful if you need it and extremely clear in explaining concepts, mainly teaching on examples instead of theory. He always gives test reviews before every exam so you know what to expect. If you are bad at math take him. If you are good at math take him. He is definitely one of the best math professors out there.
Professor Bogacki is an amazing Calc teacher. He really cares about your success if you do and is always there to answer questions. He also records and posts his lectures, which allows you to review them if you missed class or if you are reviewing for a test or the final. Great guy.
Wonderful! I love taking math with Dr. Bogacki. He is the best teacher I've ever had.
Took him for Intro Linear Algebra (online). I've been an online student for a while and this was the most thorough and easy to use online course I've taken. Dr. Bogacki will email you back quickly and he responds very kindly and thoroughly. It's obvious that he really cares about educating students. Also, he's like 7 feet tall if you ever see him.
Professor Bogacki is an amazing teacher! You can tell he really cares about his students and the subject. He records his lectures instead of just having you only read the material , which I found very helpful. I wish more of my instructors took the time to create a learning environment that was actually conducive to said learning like he does.
I've taken Calc 1, 2 and 3 at ODU and Bogacki is my favorite professor by far! Really cares about his students learning the material. He gives a lot of partial credit and there is usually a bonus question on each test. He's tests are straight forward and he doesn't put any crazy hard problems on them. Highly recommend taking him.
Professor B is one of the BEST professors not only in the Math Department but at the entire university. Both his online classes and traditional lecture classes are well organized, clear, and give you the ability to do well if you put the effort in. He truly cares about his students. He also wrote the text for 316 and makes it freely available.
Professor B. is an amazing guy. He truly cares about his students and wants you to do well. I wish he taught this class live, but it's do-able online. Tests are worth 35% of your grade, and there's only 2. But he hosts online exam review sessions, which are super helpful. He's also very helpful via email and in his office. Great professor.
He is a great professor!! Really loved the lectures! He grades really easily!
He is kind and keeps the lectures fairly interesting for a calculus class. Quizzes are fairly straight forwards and based on homework and worksheets he hands out in class. He is very good at covering the material that will be on the tests and handing out worksheets for more difficult sections.
For the online Linear Algebra course, I had an A+ average,. Taking the class online didn't work well for me and my learning style. When it came time to take the two exams, I didn't do well, although I prepared. Office hours were impossible with my work schedule. Probably more a reflection on the online aspect than Bogacki.
The class is somewhat dry due to the subject matter itself, but he is an outstanding teacher, the best I have ever had. ODU should give this man a raise.
Calc III is a hard subject, but he is a good professor. Sample tests are VERY similar to the real thing and handouts are similar to the quizzes.
Dr. Bogacki is an amazing math teacher. He is able to explain everything clearly and even adds some humor in! The tests closely resemble the sample tests and handouts given in class. As long as you put in the necessary effort for the grade that you want, you'll get it!
Absolutely Amazing. Linear Algebra is hard stuff, but Dr. B is a wonderful professor. He cares about his students and their success. He even wrote a textbook and gives it to students for free! Course content is great. Youll learn SO much. There are NO calculators or notes allowed during exams, but you wont care because he taught you so well!
ODU's FINEST! Great textbook that he gives students for free! Tests are very similar to online homework and quizzes. 10% bonus for all work turned in ahead of schedule online. Only a midterm and final but if you do the extra sections in the coursepack, you may get lucky with the bonus problem he puts on each test. Does lots of review sessions too
Dr. Bogacki is one of my favorite professors. He is easy to talk to and will help you, all you have to do is ask. He is easy to get in contact with and as long as you do the work, you will be fine. I took the class online and the lectures were easy to follow. Do the homework and quizzes early and you get a 10% bonus. His exam reviews are great.
Take Dr. B!!! Linear online with him was the best online class experience I ever had. This online class is so well organized and thorough. If you actually watch all of the videos and do the small amount of homework, you will pass with a high grade.
He is the author of the textbook and is very through on his presentations in the online environment. Very quick to respond to emails also.
I took him during the summer time for calc 2 and it was great! He does what he can to set you up for success. I am planning to take him for Calc 3 as well :)
Calc 3 was a tough class, but Prof. Bogacki was absolutely phenomenal. He's an excellent teacher and he bends over backwards for his students. He is fair with his grading (and don't expect a curve because he doesn't give any). He gives lots of handouts for supplemental instruction and always gives practice tests. 10/10 for sure.
Quick Checks of content after every section, in addition to the practice quizzes and stunningly good lectures for an online course make this teacher the one you HAVE to take Linear Algebra with if you can. He balances theorems with practical usage well, and even 3 weeks into the semester it is amazing. Well-paced release of content. 1 Module/Week
Dr. Bogacki was excellent. I earned an A in this class and I mean EARNED. It is not an easy class but he provides everything you need to succeed. This includes practice tests, practice problems and plenty of quizzes. His grading is fairly generous. He recorded all of his lectures so that was very helpful. I definitely would take him again.
I struggled with linear algebra both times of taking it (I've found every other math course I've taken to be rather easy). However, Dr. Bogacki is very organized with his online linear algebra course. Do the homework early and do good in the online quizzes, as they are a good grade booster. Study for the midterm/final hard though.
He's an awesome prof. I have him for 2 classes. He cares and if you email him questions, will respond very soon. He's a professor that genuinely cares about giving YOU the tools to do well. Tough tests, but again, he gives you all the tools to succeed--and you earn your grade. 10% extra credit on hw and quizes if you turn everything in early.
Bogacki is an amazing professor, and even though it's online, this is by far one of the most well-organized courses at ODU. Taking Linear Algebra? Take it with Bogacki. Modules are structured well, so you never feel too overworked. Sample exams are a blessing, and you know exactly what to expect. TONS of extra credit for working ahead of schedule.
I took this class as a electrical engineering elective for my final year at ODU. I took this class while taking 6 other classes. I had a busy schedule and the online lectures were direct. I recommend watching the lectures and take notes for the quizzes. Homework start forward. The tests were some what challenging but fair grade.
Dr. Bogacki makes a difficult subject a lot easier to cope with, as he's an amazing and knowledgable speaker on the subject, and takes time to really make sure students understand. Dr. Bogacki might be the single best math professor I've ever encountered.
Make no mistake about it, calc 3 will chew you up and spit you out if you're not on top of your game every single day, especially if you take it during the summer like I did. The material is difficult and you have to put due energy and time into it, especially before tests. That said, Bogacki is a solid choice, grades fairly, and tries to help you.
Kinda sad I didn't put as much effort as I could have. Gives you literally all the resources, is always available. Only issue is fairly hard grading, but if you don't stay on top of the class, you WILL fail. If you DO put effort, you will get an A or at least a B
Teaches nearly 100% in the abstract. Lectures follow book almost exactly and are nearly all theories and proofs, and 10% application. Subject taught more like a mathematical reasoning class and less like the application of linear algebra. Even some quiz questions test knowledge of theorems and proofs. Makes things more difficult than needed.
I took Calc I over the summer with Dr. B. He is a great teacher who cares about his students. He tries to simplify and logically explain the concepts. The only con I would say is that sometimes he doesn't exactly understand questions asked. Overall an excellent choice.
Stellar professor. Lecture videos are amazingly helpful. Midterm and final are heavily weighted but the homework and quizzes offer decent extra credit. Live reviews before midterm and final if you need. Difficult topic but you couldn't ask for lecturer to provide a better online experience.
Dr. B is an amazing math prof + took the time to make sure everyone understood class. He grades quickly + is clear with where you went wrong giving amazing feedback. He explains concepts so it clearly shows what is going on + takes the time in class to show you how we know what we know to be true. He is funny + makes small jokes throughout lecture
Amazing teacher, simplifies large concepts to make them easily used and understood. Returns graded tests and quizzes insanely fast. Gives constructive feedback on papers and is ready to answer any question you have even the "dumb" or small ones.
Not a bad professor, the video lectures can get fairly boring. His Midterm and Final are pretty much exactly like the practice on he gives you before the test. If you put in the work you should do just fine
Dr. Bogacki is the best math teacher I have had thus far in college (Calc 3/Linear Algebra). His lectures provide everything you need to know for exams and he leaves no stone unturned when it comes to material. Homework is on the light side, and the practice exams are EXACTLY like the real exams.
Some lectures can be a little dry. But everything is easy. Watch the lecture, homework example video, and do the homework then the Quiz. He gives extra credits both on the exam, homework, and quiz. I think he curves on the Final but not sure. As long as you do what you are given you will get an "A". Remember the steps.
Easy "A". Good extra credits! My steps of success in this class. Every module: Leatures videos -> Homework video -> Homework -> Quiz. Exam: Practice all the given additional exam problems.
Dr. Bogacki offers great explanations on all the course topics. His lecture videos are very helpful in explaining the course material and logic behind it. He is very helpful and good at responding to emails when you have questions. If you work ahead you will get tons of extra credit. I recommend taking him if you can.
I only got a C because I put this class on the back burner. Bogacki is one of the best math profs I've had. Great lecturer, even online, and tests and quizzes are more than fair. Warning, no curve on tests, but if you put the work in you'll do well.
All of his lectures mainly focus on the concept rather then applying them to example problems, I should not be able to fit a chapter on 1 page (front/back) when I copy exactly what he writes. He does not make use of the MyMathLab system effectively, but when he does so, he does it in the worst manner assigning an old chapter right before a test.
Had him online for linear algebra and this class was surprisingly easy and organized. He makes lecture videos for 7 modules and only has 2 exams. Lecture videos can be long and tedious, but linear algebra is very tedious; despite this, he flawlessly explained everything in detail. No doubt one of the best math teachers who adapted to virtual easily
Ok. I'm at a bit of a fork in the road. The class was based around modules and no real instruction, the example videos would introduce a concept, but the homework would be 10x harder. He does give good feedback and he knows what he's talking about, but taking calculus online, especially in this format, is not for everyone.
I wish I could take every class with Dr. B. Provides an insane amount of thorough material and is crystal clear on the base concepts you need to know to pass. His test reviews and office hours are above and beyond generous. His text book is clear, concise, free, and optional.
I never write reviews, but professor Bogacki deserves it. His online setup was great with the video lectures and clear homework/assignment criteria. The class was easy to follow and lots of great material covered. I wish I had more professors like him!
There are ungraded quick checks and practice quizzes that both give feedback should you get a question wrong. Practice quizzes and exams reflect exactly what is going to be on the graded material. I'm terrible at math but this course made sure I succeeded. Also free pdf textbook and online toolkit! Best professor ever.
Took it online. Great teacher, but graded by few things. Midterm 35%, Final 35%, rest of assignments 20%. If you fail the midterm or final its hard to come back. Wish there were unit tests like most math classes have.
Would definitely take him again for any other math classes I have to take. You 10% extra credit on the homework and quizzes if you complete them early. He holds review sessions over zoom before the midterm and final that are very helpful.
He explains the concepts mostly with examples and walks you through the process. The labs reinforce understanding with a visual. The tests are graded very fairly and lots of partial credit is given even if the final answer is incorrect. He drops the lowest two quiz scores. The tests and labs usually have bonus questions for extra credit.
The course was set up very well. Each unit had individual modules breaking down the concepts into bite-size problems that made it easy to digest especially since the class was online. The exams are simple to approach because the review sessions of the sample exam is practically a mirror of the exam itself which made it super easy to approach.
Prof. B's MATH316 class was a breeze. The well-structured modules, practice quizzes, and free textbook made it easy to succeed. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for studying.
Bogacki was a pretty good teacher, he was very giving with partial credit (as long as you know what you're doing). But in my opinion, he is pretty hard to learn from because he spends a lot of time explaining why we do things not how we do them so lots of time will be spent on your own doing practice problems. But overall, not a bad professor.
The professor is very good at explaining Calculus 3 concepts. There are many hands out that help you to understand difficult concepts. The professor is very straightforward with the exercises on the exams, as he often solves similar questions in class. He is a tough grader, tough; he does not curve. I recommend him if you want to learn
One of the best calculus teachers I've ever had. The way he teaches and grades is easy to understand.
