Very nice teacher, but a lot of homework and quizzes!!

I had her for two semesters (209 and 122). The class is easy but only take it if you aren't going to continue. Everyone in my class felt unprepared for 210.

Mrs. Crowe is an awesome teacher!! She is very helpful and her tests are a cinch!! I made an A in this class and I recommend her to anyone!

She is very hard. She gives quizzes everyday. Stay away unless you really want to learn the stuff.

She's from Spain and loves teaching. I had her for Spanish 209 and Spanish 210. Just make sure you do the homework and don't get behind. She likes giving quizzes but they're never hard and she'll let you study in class before you take them.

The nicest spanish teacher i've ever had. There's pretty much work for the class, but she grades easily. There were quizzes but they generally were easy.

I had her for Span 210 and I don't think her quizzes or tests are easy. I managed to get good grades but only because I worked hard. But she really tries very hard to make you learn.

Great spanish teacher. She is enthusiastic and wants to help out her students. If you get on her good side (just do the homework and PARTICIPATE) you'll love being in her class. Pop quizzes come up, but aren't bad if you did the homework assigned.

Crowe is the nicest teacher at Carolina. She helps you learn the material and the exams are in a format that students can show that they have learned without all the tricks. Would take every sememster if possible

I love her! She's great just make sure you do the HW and stay involved with class. The HW is a lot of work but it helps you learn!

She is a great teacher. She's a really nice lady and makes class interesting. Make sure you do the homework and participate in class. If you do, the quizzes and tests are easy. Take her for whatever level of spanish you can.

She's Excellent. She gives many quizzes, but that is good because that way she makes you study everyday which is the best way to learn. She is also a Spaniard and that is always a plus when it comes to learning Spanish.

I was able to practice a lot of Spanish in her class. If I'm learning something, I want to make sure that I can put it to use. What better way than to put it to use with a native speaker? This class made me feel good to know I can communicate in Spanish effectively.

She's a very kind, understanding, helpful, enthusiastic, energetic lady who really cares that you learn spanish. Her demands are realistic. If she's mad at you for not doing your homework...she has every right to be. Definitely take her if you can; I'm taking her again next semester.

you CANNOT not do your homework... she gets insanely mad!! there's always a ton to do and it's hard to keep up if you're taking harder classes also. she's helpful and nice one-on-one.. but don't get on her bad side!!!

The best teacher I’ve had at USC. Do the homework and make an effort in class and she will completely love you. If she likes you she will help you so much after that. She is incredibly nice and enthusiastic. If you don’t like her you obviously gave ZERO effort. Actually spending time on the homework will easily give you an A in the class.

Do your homework and she will love you. If you don't do the work, she'll get upset and not like you. A lot of the material was stuff I learned in SPAN 122. She is a good teacher, and I would take her class again.

Puri Crowe was such a wonderful teacher. She really wants you to learn. The majority of students that dislike her are the ones that refuse to do their work and show up to class. You have to try in the class and put forth a great deal of effort, but if you are serious about learning Spanish, it shouldn't be a problem.

Prof. Crowe is very nice and helpful. As long as you attend class, DO THE HOMEWORK, and put forth effort you will do well even if your grades on the tests aren't wonderful. The tests and quizzes are difficult, but if you put forth the effort in other parts of class, you don't have to worry about them as much. I'm taking her again.

Good teacher, though I had some trouble understanding her accent. A lot of the work seems hard at first but she grades easy, especially if she likes you. Be sure to make an effort and look like you care. She uses the textbook A LOT, so beware if you have an old edition...I managed to do it but for some it might be more trouble than it's worth.

The class is fairly easy as long as you show up, pay attention, and do your work. Prof. Crowe cares about her students, but gets upset if you talk during her class or don't do your homework (which is understandable). I definitely recommend her.

Puri Crowe was definitely a good teacher. Attendance is mandatory and dont forget your homework. She will definietly hold it against you if you dont do it. All in all easy class, you learn a lot and as long as you do the work you will get an A. Take her if you can.

Professora Crowe is a native spanish speaker. She is very energetic and helpful, but can sometimes be rude (its her Spanish nature she says). Be sure to do the readings and your homework or she definately will hold it against you. Great teacher.

I took Sra. Crowe's class for 209 and 210. As other commenters have mentioned, you shouldn't enter her class expecting an easy A?this isn't due to her teaching style, but the fact that the 200-level classes are simply more difficult across the board. But, if you apply yourself, you'll finish the semester feeling like you've learned something.

Great teacher, knows her stuff and wants you to learn. I learned a lot. Not for everyone though. Take only if you are realy interested in spanish & have a good grasp of the language.

The material itself is pretty simple as long as you read the lectures and do the homework. She assigns homework everyday but you don't have to hand it in; just write "Si" when you sign in for attendance. She basically just goes by the 309 curriculum with no strings attached. She'll like you A LOT more if you participate in class discussions.

She helped me a lot. She doesn't give grades away. You actually need to work to earn your grade but that to me is being fair, so don't take her if you are looking for and easy A. But do take her if you want to learn Spanish.

Crowe is a good teacher, but definitely shy and definitely European. She is very fair about how she grades, but don't expect an easy A.

She is THE BEST Spanish Professor I've ever had here at USC. She is very nice and wants her student to learn! If you don't do well in her class, it's just that you're too stupid to care about class. SPAN309 is overall a hard class. The director makes all the exams, so I can't blame Crowe for how difficult they were. Her quizzes are easy and grade boosters, but the exams were hard. She helped us out by adding points if she felt you deserved it. Very nice teacher though! I took another Spanish class with her after this one despite my grade.

I loved Sra. Crowe's class! I learned so much Spanish in this class. There is online homework and some stories to read but the homework isn't bad. Sra. Crowe is really helpful and wants you to understand the material. I would definitely take her again because she is one of the nicest people I have ever met and is a great professor!

Love Prof Crowe! She is super sweet and funny. Hates cell phone use and encourages group/partner work daily. She is a pretty leniant grader. If you do the HW and take notes on it, you'll be fine in class. Really awesome teacher.

Cares very much about participation but is a very sweet lady. Very thick accent, she's from Spain and didn't move to the US until she was 30. She cracks jokes left and right (although you may not understand exactly what she's saying) her laugh is contagious. Would definitely recommend.

She absolutely HATES cell phones but never took off my grade even though she said she would many times for always using it. Barely passed the exit exam and she really gave me the A even though never studied for a single test.

She's really nice. There's a lot of homework and usually you learn the material at home by doing the homework and reading through the texts. Then, we discuss the material in the next class. She helps you review before tests and that's really helpful.

Puri Crowe is such a nice and approachable person, and she always gives examples or explains concepts in another way to make sure you really understand the material. As for vocabulary, she tries to put it in the context of the homework readings you do, which helps. The homework can be a little tricky at times, but if you ask for help, she will help

I love Professor Crowe she is adorable and makes you feel good about yourself! Her accent is fun and she likes to enjoy class. Make sure you do the online homework, there are no notes in class or lectures really, its more discussion based and you get a participation grade so try and speak up at least once per class. It's a hard class so study.

Puri is a super sweet professor. I've had her for 2 Spanish classes, and I plan on taking a class with her every time I get the chance for the rest of my college career. She genuinely cares. She wants every student to pass, but she is very strict about participation. If you don't speak up and put forth effort in class, you grade will show that.

Señora Crowe is a very sweet and funny lady. She wants you to learn and helps you any way she can. Advanced Spanish was a very hard class and was completely different than what I am used to, but it's not her fault the class is hard.

Excellent professor. If you want to learn Spanish, you should take her class. She explains things really well with plenty of handouts and review exercises. She is also very nice and has a great sense of humor. Highly recommended for those interested in learning the language.

Class has 4 exams and a final. Homework due before every class online. She is really funny but a lot of people don't get her jokes. You do need to study for her tests but as long as you're willing to do what's required you'll do fine

I literally loved her 209 healthcare class. She is SO nice and willing to help you. She will give you better grades if she likes you so participate and show you care and are trying and you will be fine. Exams aren't too bad, but you should study if you want an A. Profesora Crowe is great! I was very nervous for SPAN 122 because I have not taken Spanish for almost two years. Professor Crowe fostered a really positive, welcoming learning environment and made me feel comfortable practicing speaking in Spanish. I would be happy to take another Spanish class with her.

It's hard to describe her teaching style due to the online format, but her occasional emails are very kind, and I've had no trouble contacting her when needed. Homework heavy because that's the format of the class--online assignments--but they are always due on the same days and are not hard. I would recommend this class!

The nicest professor I have ever had. This class is not hard at all, but you should still try to get this professor. Answers emails and is overly nice. I have never rated a professor before but I purposely came on here to write about her because she is my favorite professor. I have no interest in Spanish, yet I wish I did so I could have her again.
