I expected a torture class and it turned into an easy A! Dr. Puvana is awesome, friendly, and unlike so many others, knows how to make students' lives easier. A surprisingly fun class!

Dr Pavauna is a great teacher. If you want a fun, interactive class, with lots of discussions, this is the class for you. The assignments are easy. Tests are harder. However, class is fun, interesting, and one I would highly recommend. She is a very caring teacher. =)

the doctor is amazing she will push you and help you earn the grade you want she is there to guide and teach you the basics i recommend this class to anyone she is just an awesome person to get to know!!! when selecting ur group pick wisely you will be spending the next 14 weeks with these people and create a presentation together ;)

Dr P was pretty cool and a very easy class. She is very helpful and genuinely concerned for your progress. However, she was disorganized and constantly changing the schedule and assignments to accomadate the cry babies in class. She needs to be more assertive and in charge of the class. She was often unprepared for class causing us to start late.

Dr. P is an amazing and such an inspirational woman! Lectures and classroom discussions are always interesting and interactive, and you'll learn something to boot! Tests aren't bad at all, and then the projects are really enjoyable and makes you think more about the society we live in. Definately take her for at least one COM course!

Excellent teacher. Really cares about her students and about teaching. Teaching is not just "a job for Dr. Ganesan" It is her passion. If you attend class and work well with groupd then you will do well.

A Dr. P course should be a mandatory req for all students. She puts everything she has into making her classes effective, respectful and fun. Working with groups is always a challenge, but if you want to learn true interpersonal skills attend class, pay attention and observe the master at work.

Dr. Puvana is an AWESOME teacher. She's really cool too. She teaches the material in real life ways that help you to understand it better than just looking at a powerpoint. She is More than fair and will help you out if you need it. I'm taking all the classes I can from her!

Precious Puvana is my all-time favorite teacher. The very first day she brought candy to the class and even oredered pizza for us 3 different times! She makes an effort to make a personal connection with almost each student. She has even written several letters of recommendations for me even though I took her more than 3 semesters ago! TAKE HER!!!

Precious is the greatest teacher I have ever had here at MCC. MY favorite by far, she teaches well and through fun activities. I am taking all communication classes she teaches. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have a fun but serious class.

Take this professor. She is incredibly generous with students, not ridiculously hard, and still relays useful facts. My only complaint, and it is incredibly minor, is that she has sort of a weird outlook on life which she espouses in class. Non-organic fruit = cancer? Still, she allows students to disagree.

Probably the best professor I have had! I have been dreading taking communications since I began classes and I've taken two with her now. She's always happy and definitely opens your eyes to everything around you and things within yourself that you may not have seen prior to taking her class. Helps you pass, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A

This professor has inspired me so much over the past year. Definitely my favorite college professor. She has accomplished so much and is so strong. Always energetic, impossible to not smile in her class. Never judges or looks down on anyone. Fair grader, easy tests if you pay attention.

excellent teacher, if she is unable to make clas she will contact you via phone or email. quizes are easy and she usually replaces the tests wih group charity projects or other interesting assignments. very nice and funny, will work with you on anything. loved this class!

Precious is fantastic. She is approachable, friendly and willing to work with you if anything arises. We did one class presentation, two straightforward quizzes and a group charity project. Pay attention, do any extra credit available to you and you will get an A.

Puvana is the most caring teacher I have ever taken she takes all the time she can to help her students. Her class is very easy, but she is particular with what she wants. She goes over and over assignments so if you don't get it your not paying attention I have nothing bad to say about her other than she has taught me alot, I highly recommend her!

Precious is literally the best teacher I have had on campus. I took this course for the honors credit but I fell in love with the content and everything about this class. You have to put in quite a bit of work on the projects but they are always fun and well worth the effort. If you have the chance definitely take this class! :)

Precious is fantastic simply put. Very energetic and full of humor. Looked forward to this class every day. Everyone needs to take this class with Puvana, because she epitomizes making learning fun. Group work is integral to grade, and final paper is crucial, but she barley lectures and teaches through activities which are a blast. Very, Very, FUN.

Eveything is applicable to real life, and it will help with your personal relationships as well. Highly advise taking this class, I'm even going to take her International Communications class!

Online textbook (lots of reading for online quizzes), three main papers (1- or 2-pageshort research one answering hard questions, one on your culture, one group one on three concepts in class applied to a conflict), APA format, discussion board posts, she buys food for us :) Do the honors contract to get your money back!

Precious is amazing! I heard a lot about her before this class. I looked forward to coming to class everyday, because everyday was something new and exciting. Lots of food too. She really cares about her students, and it definitely shows. She is extremely inspiring, and would definitely take one of her classes again!

"Precious" was great! She cares a lot about the students, is fun, and brings food to class! Her lectures are very interactive and I never watched the clock in class. I took her late start class, and I wish I took the normal schedule, because she had so much to cover with little time. I wish I could have seen her at capacity!

Have been going part-time to community college for past to years and hands down the best professor I have had. By far Puvana/Precious is fair and requires hard work however will require you to put work in as well.

Precious is one of the greatest professors you can ever have. Caring, funny, inspirational. Everyone should be taking one of her classes. She knows how to make it fun and enjoyable for everyone. She provides group activities the demonstrate the lectures (there aren't many lectures). Mainly group work. Love her! 10/10 would take another class.

Towards the start of the semester she was great. But towards the end Im not sure what happened. She began saying that she told us stuff in our last class when every student says that she absolutely did not say that. Ie. She would tell us our assignment is due Monday, but it would be Sunday.

I thoroughly enjoyed my semester with Precious because she is such an understanding person and she was able to put many issues regarding today's culture into perspective. Thanks to her I have become more aware about the 'blindfolds' that I experienced previous to taking her class and I plan on maintaining that awareness throughout my life.

Easy class. Great professor. Remember all work is group-oriented so get along. Didn't have to take the final. End of semester project/paper was easy. Make sure to clarify when due dates are (she changes the schedule A LOT).

Most caring teacher you'll ever have. Small group communications was a lot of fun. Teacher buys pizza for the class a few times during the semester and gives out snacks other classes. Little bit of homework. You'll like have to write 3 1.5-2 page papers, which will be used in a 10 page that's about 30min of work. You also have a group presentation

This instructor was great. She is so friendly, helpful, and genuinely cares about her students. The work load is light-moderate and grading criteria is pretty easy. I highly recommend her.

I had Prof. Puvana "Precious" for 2 classes this semester- Com 225 and Com 263, and I really enjoyed both classes! Com225- super easy, 4 speeches and that's it. A few in class activities but nothing crazy. Com263- a few lectures, one presentation. Really easy. These classes also took place during COVID19 and had to be moved online. Amazing prof.

My class switched to online halfway through due to COVID-19 but it was still amazing. She genuinely cares for her students and is always willing to help. Most points come from participation in fun group activities and there are only a few assignments. There are only two tests but if you listen in the few lectures she gives you will pass.

Puvana is easily the best teacher I have had in my 14 years of education. She's one of those teachers that is very passionate and knowledgeable about her topic and it shows. She offers a few EC bits throughout the semester aimed at helping homeless. She is genuinely very nice. Very easy tests if you even just skim the book and take good notes.

Professor Guvana goes by Precious. She is the nicest person you will meet. She genuinely cares about her students and is passionate about what she's teaching. Precious cares about her students, and I really appreciate that. I was having a hard semester and a had a hard time understanding some of my assignments. Precious was always there answering my emails in a timely fashion and supporting my learning however she could. In a class that was difficult for me, I am grateful she was my teacher.

Puvana is the most wonderful college professor I've ever had. I took the 5 WEEK course and I hardly had to spend any time on the course. 3ish hours a day but it could have been less. I had more questions than I can remember, and she kindly, and quickly answered all of them! Truly cares about her students. If you try, you will pass. Thx again Profe!

Precious is awesome, she'll explain the name when class starts. There was a lot of reading and homework, but just write well and convey your inner feelings and you'll be fine. Feels like CRT, but a real teacher (like P) uses it to make you think & create your own conclusions, make your own decisions about what's being taught. Don't be a sheep!

I don't have a single negative thing to say about this course or Precious! I absolutely loved every class. She is so kind and extremely knowledgeable. There is a great deal of in-class assignments and attendance is graded. All quizzes allow two shots to get them perfect and there are no dooming large tests or pop quizzes.

She is very talkative, if left to her own devices she would spend the entire class period talking about something that usually wasn't class-related. She is super easy to pass but you won't take away much from her class so if you're looking for an easy A and don't care about the content, this is your best choice.

Easy A. She really makes it easy for you if you try. Only complaint was I don't feel I left with too much knowledge on the class subject. Great person but I didn't learn much. Fun class though. If you are an honours student: DO NOT MISS THE HALLOWEEN/VOLUNTEER EVENTS. It's more work than it's worth if you miss them. Plan ahead with dates.

This woman is so kind and genuine, even across the world she was fantastic! I would take any class she taught because she made me want to engage and learn. I felt so seen with her feedback and she always holds students accountable for their quality of work. This is the teacher you want if you truly want to learn about culture. 10/10

I didn't know until this class how an instructor could be truly involved with an online class. She leaves real, in-depth feedback which helps to reinforce concepts as well as to be incredibly encouraging. Though materials are from previous semesters, there is an element of everything being new and fresh and specifically for the current class. A+

One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. She is a talker, but I didn't mind it, she always has interesting life stories that tie into her lectures. She is very kind and understanding. She is willing to do whatever she can to help you in any aspect. Really great person overall. Easy A.

COM 207 was one of the most rigorous courses I have taken in my first 2 years of college; however, Profe made the class much more enjoyable. She offered excellent feedback with a positive edge that kept me motivated. She structures the course so there are plenty of opportunities to learn with/from classmates.

I took COM207 from Profe for 2 semesters, as I failed the 1st time for mental health reasons. Although I got a D, it helped me not lose financial aid. I made sure to not fail the 2nd time, and Profe was always helpful. Because of her, I finished my AA and transferred to ASU. She is one who actually cares and provides valuable feedback.

She made it enjoyable, and the environment was very positive. Dr. Puvana is always willing to give feedback and have challenging discussions that most people would not feel comfortable discussing. However, she is not biased, making it easy to connect with others and talk openly.

Profe/Precious is hands down one of the most caring and genuine instructors I've ever come across (lifelong student here)! COM207 is an incredibly difficult class but she makes herself readily available, provides the best feedback, and will help you successfully navigate your way through it! There's no way she's a muggle - she's too brilliant.
