She was a very good teacher, but she began the class with about 5 test and then changed it to about 10. You must do your homework everyday, but otherwise a good teacher.

This professor is a really good teacher and she goes out of the way to help you learn. She assigns plenty of homework but its for the good. You can follow her lecture very clearly. Overall wonderful teacher. I truly recommend her.

I like her i think that she tires really hard to get everyone to understand no matter how easy or hard it may be too you. Even tho i thought the class was really easy she was still trying to make sure i got really good scores on her test. But she would always say that i am making "careless mistakes" LOl its ok i do recommend her shes pretty cool just ask her for help if needed

do not take this lady, nice and freindly but she gives way to much homework to the point in which you'll be stressed out as F**K because the amount of homework is insane and will make you remember definitions durring test and puts materials on exams that she never reviewed or talked about. I recomend to take her class if your only taking her class, have no job and have no other prorities in your time schedule

Without a doubt a spectacular teacher. Gives homework everyday but her door is always open. She has a cute accent but...her motivation and seriousness to teach outweighs it. People who complain about her are just students "trying to get by". Take Ms.Phung if you want learn.

nice n cute woman but to much expectations from her students, only take her if your a truely dedicated student who'll do loads of homework, enjoy remembering defintions and enjoy suprise questions that were never covered in lecture durring an exam.

Phung's a good teacher and tries to make the material easy and understanding. She does expect you to study & do all the HW, becuz similar problems appear on tests. You do have to memorize some formulas but not so bad. Above all she is nice and does have a funny accent. Try to study and get the hang of it and you'll do fine.

i'm currently taking her class..it's easy. but a lot of homework everyday. easy tests some math problems are given in the homework. i think she's cute... i'll give her a chance and date her....lol

Here's the deal, yes she assigns a lot of homework, and throws out a quiz ever blue moon- but she's a wonderful teacher. She is a little bit of a homework nazi, but nothing like two hours a class or anything like that. If anything, tests problems come from the HW so by doing it you're preparing for the exam, a benefit to anyone but dumbasses.

The best teacher out there for those who want to learn. If you don't want to learn and are looking just to slip by, then this is not the class for you.

She is one of the best teachers I've had so far. She explains everything so well. Yes she does assing HW but its in your benefit to do it, because her tests come straight from the HW. Shes a nice lady.

Pros: Clear, helpful, organized. Quiz and test questions from homework. Gives partial credit. Makes her own final. Cons: Checks attendance every day. Only 3 absences and 9 tardies allowed. Homework due every day. It's a difficult class regardless, but she's pretty clear about everything in her lectures. Give her a shot.

Prof. Phung Is by far one of the best teachers Ive had at SMC. She's clear,helpfull, organized, stays on schedule. I took her for summer, i learned a lot. Do the Homework and take good notes you will do just fine.

MATH20: Mrs.Phung is a great teacher! She really helps you understand the material. I took her during the Winter and for the short amount of time we had she helped me understand. Homework was given EVERYDAY and wasnt worth many points. 5 exams a few POP quizes and Final. If you do your HW you'll do fine.

Phung really is the best math teacher i had in my life. I had her for winter session, material moved fast but i was still able to grasp the information. she knows how to explain things in clear & easy terms, i hate math but she made me enjoy it for the first time! doesnt get mad if you ask stupid questions about math, she helps you!

first of all - i hate math - have always hated it and started the summer class with a whole lot of grumpiness....BUT..ms phung taught me math- i understand it now, i can do it myself. She explains WHATEVER you need, gives extra credit for homework and writes EASY tests. almost always on time, never in a bad mood. L-O-V-E HER

BEST MATH TEACHER AT SMC. Seriously, this teacher knows her stuff and is willing to help you learn it. She gives partial credit on exams. Exams are multiple choice, true and false, evaluation, and fill in the blank. She collects all homework before class starts. (do it) And requires 1 hour of math lab per week. EASY 'A.' take her!!!

Ok, everyone making fun of her accent are just arrogant fools that probably just got a bad grade and are just bitter. Do you homework even if its only "10%" it's only meant to help you for your test. I would recommend her if you are serious about learning / relearning math.

if you guys think she's hard to teach because of her accent, open your ears people. ms phung is one of the proficient math teachers here at SMC. she gives understandable examples and quizzes that will 99.9% prepare you for the test. she wants you to succeed to the next course and she loves to help you if needed.

THE BEST TEACHER FOR MATH 31. i sucked at math, but she is a super good teaching, sure classes are early in the morning but shes th best. always there to help, grades pretty easy, gives partial credit. Def recommend her.

loved the class, it wasnt all that easy but if you stay on top of the hw, and come to class daily you will live. she is very helpful and loves for you to attend her office hrs. there are a lot of pop quizes and the exams require a lottt of studying but trust it is not the hardest classs ive taken. and p.s her voice is not hard to understand. at all

I am terrible at math, Ive never received higher then a C. I got an 89% in her class. This is not an easy class by any means but her instruction is crystal clear. She not only lays out every step and formula but also explains WHY so your not just memorizing. Couldn't speak more highly of her. No frills just a super solid teacher.

Took her for Math 49. It was pretty difficult and she does assign a lot of homework. E.G #1-63 Odd. However, if you do the homework, you are guaranteed to pass the class with at least a B. There are 6 exams, plus the final. She breaks down every problem so you can easily understand it, and she ensures that every student understands it.

Took this Class in Winter Semester and it went fairly well, she is very clear on her lectures and if you need help she does all she can to make sure you understand it. Professor Phung is a great teacher. She is kind, funny, and cares for her students. However, her class is not easy. You have three sections of homework due after every class and attendance is mandatory. You will have to work for your grade but Phung will never move unless the whole class feels ready. Prepare to work, but it will be worth it.

Took Math 2 over the summer. Was a fast-paced, intensive class with online lectures. She explains things in a way that help you understand why, instead of trying memorize tables and formulas. If you ask questions and pay attention, do all your homework, she's a great professor. I'd take her class again if she taught higher level math.

Definitely on exams focus on showing your work. Fair grader, and her lectures will definitely prepare you for all the concepts taught. Lots of work to do so plan accordingly, but she does prepare you well for future math courses. Very approachable during office hours, and encouraging.

Professor Phung is amazing!! I've always had trouble with math in high school - and her lectures for MATH 2 make it incredibly easy to understand.

The professor indicates a weekly workload of 30hours/week but it's definitely more. The textbook is around $100, for the hw and quizzes that are 10% of your grade and there is A LOT. She takes a really long time to respond. She only has office hours once per week for 45 minutes, and you have to reserve it, u only get 15min. She's nice though...
