funny teacher trys not to make class boring. no homework just tests every couple of weeks 4 tests drops the lowest test score. he has a tendency to lead off track sometimes but good guy.

AWESOME TEACHER!! Cracks jokes, drops the lowest test score, doesn't make you take the final, tends to go off-track. Does a review the week before and practically gives you over half the test questions in the review! Highly recommend taking him!!!

Loved his class! Took him in Spring 07. No homework. Extra credit essays. I really enjoyed his lectures, plus I learned alot in the class. He does not take roll but his lectures are critical to your success on exams. Most of what he lectures on is on the test so take good & thorough notes. Sometimes he'll let you out of class early.

This teacher is awesome. Best teacher I've ever had! We learn about Geography in this class and life too! We have taken field trips to Kauai and to Africa and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. We are planning another field trip to Antartica and see how the polar bears live. Did I mention the teacher is HOT? You must take this class! You will get an A!

Awesome teacher! He has been published in a book and is a really interesting guy. We had class lectures in neverland and took our break in tiger lily cove. His class will totally make you a map critic and maybe even the next peter pan!!!

Best teacher ever. I now own a surf board but carry a first aid kit with me. Lets you know where all the great surfing places are but global warming may change that. Could not go on field trips - parents would not sign permission slips - he's a stickler for them. VERY HOT - probably why the room is freezing. Geography is THE BEST!!

Good class. Good teacher. I honestly look forward to his class every week b/c the material is quite interesting and so is he. We often times digress and talk about the economy or politics. And you'd think it'd be boring, but it's really fun. As for the class you need to be there every week. The notes you take are essential for the exams.

Alright, listen up! This guy is legit...I Walked into class on the first day and he was waxing his surfboard (yeah, kinda' nuts). I was kind of thrown off by this at first, but he managed to tie it into his lecture for the day. He often dresses in costume to accentuate his lesson plans as well and sometimes even changes at break! Rad teacher!

Before I came into this class I had no interest in Geography what so ever because the first teacher I had ruined it for me. I highly recomment taking this class. Mr. Franklin does his best to make the lecture entertaining. He provides a lot of information from his prior experiance as a city-planner and his continued enthusiasm in real-estate. Test questions are fair and test reviews are givin the class period before the test. If you like teachers who talk about personal experinaces you'll like Mr. Franklin.

Prof. Franklin is very funny and down to earth person. He is very good at making a difficult topic easier to understand. Franklin comes to class every week in a suit...a wet suit that is, equipped with a surfboard instead of your everyday briefcase. Profeesor Franklin is the best teacher I have ever had! I had surgery and was unable to make it to class and he made an exception and I was able to call him that day and listen to the lecture as if I was in class and he gave me the lecture notes that he went over in class that you usually can not be made up. I always look forward to coming to this

This teacher knows his stuff!! He's almost a walking talking map of life. He is an extremely good lecturor (if theres such a thing) and allows you to fart in class. Sometimes he farts with you in two fart harmony...kind of like the brass section in the band. Take this teacher because he teaches you that Africa IS indeed a continent!

If you need geog. take this class. Class consists of lectures, and 3 Exam and a Final. Textbook is only needed to clarify materials in lecture. Teacher is cool, sometimes get side tracked, but when he does, he has some interesting things to say. He also lets you out early! This is a good teacher, take his class if you need it.

The class is fairly easy, grade is based on 3 exam b/c he drops 1 exam. He lets you out about 30 min. early, and gives you extra credit. What more do you need to know! Textbook is somewhat needed. He is a good teacher to take. Class is not difficult. It's a good class to take among your harder ones.

I first thought that this class was just going to be about state capitals, but after the first class I realized that it wasn't going to be that easy. However, go to class and take notes and are there the day that he reviews for the test you will be fine! I really enjoyed the class and it opened my eyes as to how much geography is related to life.

I guaranteed you will love this class as much as guys love cars, as girls love shopping and as realtors love closing deals! The professor is very spontaneous and helpful. He looks like...i would say... the guy featured on the KFC box, friendly, charming and full of goodies inside. So be prepared to learn some some hot and fun lessons!

Take this professor! One of my best instructors of all time. He's really concern about his students siting in chairs for an extensive period of time. Sometimes during class we would go out to the fields and do stretch exercises. How awesome is that! Overall, great experience.

One of the nicest professors I've ever known. He's got a great sense of humor and if you take him, you'll never get bored during class. You'll have 3 tests and 1 final, drop one with lowest scores. Tests are all from his lectures so make sure you take good notes. He also gives lots of extra credit, do them and you'll be fine!

Yes Yes he did give extra credit to those he sold a house to, so we kind of "bought" our extra credit but it is all good. He is one rad teacher, teaches you about everything from what beaches are good to surf at to where you should vacation! How awesome is that? Now I must say, even though I am a guy, I LOVE how he dresses. (very handsome)

Mr. Franklin is a awesome surfer dude teacher who is always down to help you out and give life lessons with stories of his trips to Mexico and afar. He taught us how the Santa Ana winds give us gnarly waves and why it snows so well in the Sierra Nevada mountains. awesome class, awesome teacher and the only homework is studying for the exams!

Professor Franklin is a one of a kind teacher. His tests are not that easy but he gives you lots of extra credit. He is really relaxed and easy going. Definitely worth taking if he is still there next semester?but I Doubt it.

If i could, i'd take this class again and again and again and again! i wasn't that into geography but professor Franklin got me interested. now i know there are certain places i should not visit, because i may not be seen again. He's super duper chill and helpful. He lets us out an hour early, which is great!

Mr. Franklin is a very nice teacher who wants to see you succeed. His test are not too hard, as long as you listen to the lectures and review your notes. He is a very cool teacher with interesting stories to tell. I recomend this teacher to anyone who needs credit for general ed along with some laughs.

I'm going to miss this class. It was very entertaining in an educational way. Reading for class was never a problem, since the required text was a picture book. Exams, all you have to do is draw pictures. If you add color to your drawings you get extra credit so make sure to bring your crayons on exam days.

Great teacher. Test are easy if you come to class for lecture, but attendance is not mandatory. 4 tests, only counts 3, so last one gets dropped. Book only necessary to study for the essay questions. I recommend you to take this teacher if you need Geog 180

Lowest out of 4 exams are dropped. He does a test review that lets you know which questions will be on each exam. Final exam has no essay questions and is extremely easy. He offers extra credit, gives extra points if exam questions are unfair, and does his best to teach. You are one sad college student if you can't earn at least an A for his class.

mr. franklin is awesome, had him for geography 180 and hes amazing teacher that is really funny sometimes. in the beginning of the class it seemed like it was going to be boring, but it got real good from middle to the end. i finished with an "A" and mr. franklin made it very clear was going to be on the tests. His stories were pretty interesting

Easy, clear, and tries to be funny to lessen the dryness of the topic, geography. Extra credit of 20 pts is given to students do who a 20 min presentation on a topic of their choice, with his approval. Take the class if you are interested in geography but the topic is so dry and boring.

Franklin keeps lectures interesting and is fair. He lets the class know expectations and offers EC to boost grade.

Took online - 1 midterm @ 8 wks, another at 16, plus a final. Read your book - gives you a study guide for every chapter and your essay questions ahead of time to prepare for your tests. Very laid back, you can work at your own pace. No homework. Extra credit available. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Excellent Instructor! I had Franklin for World Regional and Cultural Geography back in the early 1990s. He loves to travel and has a passion for the field. He inspired me to pursue my degree in geography which I'm currently finishing at the U of H at H. I'm glad to see he is still teaching.
