He seemed fine to me when I had him. So long as you go to class he's cool.
class is ridiculous,can't understand a single word,quizes are impossible!!!!!!!!

Easy Class, Take Notes You'll ace the tests
People are too hard on him... he's a good teacher & willingly helps
If you can hear him, you might have a chance.

Not understandable, often messes up concepts (like sci. notation!) and reading the book is like reading a manual for the Russian space station! - Still, the class is extremely easy. If you didn't know this stuff by 6th grade, your school should be closed!

Kind of hard to understand. but if you know your stuff the quizes are easy.
I had him a couple semester's back. He didn't like the class questioning him. If you consider him telling you that he makes the questions trick questions in order to help you learn how to think a good thing, then take him. Otherwise, stay away.

Rather hard to understand, but with the speakers, his soft voice's not quite so bad. Make sure to sit near the front! Tests are a pain though.

Terrible class to take, avoid at all costs. Not worth the stress, you just study the book.
A little hard to understand, but if you sit towards the front it is easier to listen to him. The book for this class is worthless. Go to lecture. The tests are easy if you attend lecture.
One of the worst classes i took. I would study 2 hours for a quiz and still get a D. I had to drop the class so it wouldn't effect my GPA. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!
Had him few semesters back. Nice man, difficult to understand, not b/c of his accent but due to his softness. Can't teach. Lecture is boring, tests and quizes are very hard. I retook this class b/c I got an F the first time. Avoid if you can.

He is a very nice man, but does not speak loud enough for the aud. class room. All his lectures have no real stability for his exams. He is very hard and I barely passed
Even though after 2 months of not being able to sound out his real name, I think he is a fare prof. Everything one needs for his class is in the book, tests are challenging but not impossible...quizes are easy.

Never take this professor for a 100 level course. He is too difficult, and sometimes was not very willing to help. His lectures did not make much sense either.
I think that this class was really easy, I have had a lot of trouble seeing why people are so down on him. He is really into his subject, and does his best to convey that. I just think people come to college and dont want to work for grades...
You have to be a complete idiot to fail his class. He is willing to help you at any time, you just have to take the initiative to see him. His accent and soft spoken nature do cause some minor problems but it is not that bad. Great prof, great courses.

First class I ever fell asleep in, in the entirety of my educational career, and I was a junior. SNOZZZZZZZZZ!
You can not understand a word that he says in class and he does not help you outside of class. Don't bother reading the book because it will not help. He doesn't even give understandable notes before a test.
He does not explain things clearly at all - during class he just writes a term on the board here and there but never really explains what it means. Reading the book doesn't help either. Does not make the class interesting at all - we should been given the credits just for staying awake in class.
Horrible Professor
Not as hard as everyone makes it out to be if studied. He is very hard to understand. He knows his things but I think sometimes it is hard for him to get the point across. Just pay attention and study and you will be fine.

Oh God...I mean look at his name...If you can figure out how to pronounce his name then maybe you'll understand that God awful accent of his...I dropped his class after a couple weeks...Take my advice run away..far..far..AWAY!!!

He is hard to understand, however, I sat in the front row and could hear what he was saying pretty clearly. His test are easy as long as you go to class and study your notes. Don't bother reading the book, it's a waist of time! He is a nice guy, and very helpful! Take him, he's a good teacher!

Absolutely the WORST professor I have had in 4 years at MU. I was looking forward to this class, and then dropped it after a few weeks. He is a QUiet, Monotone, heavy accented lecturer, who actually tries to fail you!!
Easiest Science class i've ever taken. All you have to do is take some notes, study them and read the book. Will help you with uncertain material. Great class and good prof!

he sparked an interest in geology. and that's not easy in a gov't major. he gives you earth science in a nutshell. but he does it well enough to help me determine my minor.
WORST PROF EVER!!! Do not take this course, you cannot understand him and he puts uncovered material on the tests.
worst lab prof...if you have him don't even take him even if its just lab..he is a geophysist so he is extremely smart and it is really hard for him to make simple...his notes are really confusing and he makes it really hard to understand what your doin...and his test suck just as much...stay away from him but he will try to help you if he can
He is the nicest man in the whole world, but he is the toughest. Do not expect an easy time in his class. His exams are brutal.
HORRIBLE PROF! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Our tests had things he never showed us before & weren't in the book. Were we supposed to read his mind? The entire class was lost the entire time. Self-deprecating humor most of the time with a warm smile and a desire to help all students. Knew us by name and treated us all with respect, even when it was obvious we had not done the work. Knows his stuff and has a passion for teaching. I will take Dr. Ramana again in a heartbeat. Also, ask him about asbestos and french teachers.
Seems a little quirky, but really intelligent guy and really willing to help if you just ask. Loved his stories about Madagascar!
For starters, he needs to get a new microphone...so we can hear what hes saying...second...he needs to speak freakin english...and third...does he even notice that half the class doesnt even show up on a daily basis...AND half the people that DO show up just leave..dont take this class....TRUST ME...he cant teach to save his life

This was the worst class ever!! You can't even understand what he says. There are only 3 tests so make sure you study the outlines and go to class, because if not you will fail!!
I'm not much into science, so this course was really a struggle for me. I had difficulty understanding the book & couldn't really follow what was going on in class. However, Dr. R was very willing to help me outside of class and by working one-on-one with him I understood things much better (and was able to actually pass the course).
Very dry personality and very monotone in lecture, your grade comes only from the 4 total exams he gives, so study the notes and readings well.
He seems like a very nice guy and knows what he is talking about. but that doesn't mean he should be a prof. I could not understand anything he said, plus the book doesn't explain things good either. Would not take a his class again.
This class is sooo boring. everyone fell asleep like everyday. You can't understand him because of his accent and he talks really quiet. There are only 4 grades in this class and the tests are impossible.
I have no idea why people find this guy so hard. Only 7 people out of a class of 105 were able to get an A. 90 or above is an A, yet most students failed or got low D's. MU students expect a free ride from profs like Price -- if you can't understand Ramana, go to class and sit up front, or do the unthinkable and ask a question if something isn't clear. He's boring, but the class is easy. You freshmen need to get a clue!
i think it is safe to say that he is probably the most boring professor i will ever have an MU. his lectures make absolutly no sense, and trying to hear what he says is nearly impossible because he is the most soft-spoken man ever. his tests are not on the material that he covers in class, so you are basically screwed when you take a test.

Dr. Ramana is a smart man, but he just cannot teach the material well. He may be helpful during office hours, but I can say I never went and found out. Just pretty much have to learn the stuff on your own. Good luck to anyone who takes his class.
i pity all who takes him.... our class average was a 64%. bring some hearing aides, b/c you'll need em!
if you have physical geology and you have him for lab, it is near impossible to get an A. if you have an A in the lecture, the lab will surley ruin that A. very difficult and hard to understand
He really doesn't explain much. He'll leave you a worksheet to do and then won't tell you what you need to do with it.
cant hear him. tests are impossible. no material will be in book/class. he is nice- but you wont pass. lol. class average was like-- 50-60%? hopefully your geo prof curves- she did for us.
Ramananananaana is a cool guy but seriously needs to speak up. u will not learn/gain anything if ur in the back. I'll take Ramananananana again next yr for lecture. idk about lab yet
