I just took her class cause of time slot. What was cool is that i really got turned on to philosophy. I'm taking her class in fall too. This teacher takes time to make sure you really get it.

Great Instructor. Dismiss the initial sense of chaos that you might experience from her lectures in the first couple of weeks. You are just not used to her. She is extremely generous and helpful. One of the most interesting professors at LBCC.

easy grader. very unconventional and spur of the moment. some days you go to class and she seems like she has a very clear teaching structure and you learn a lot while other days you go to class and leave having no idea what had just happened. she's very nice and very understanding. a bit chaotic, she jumps around a lot but still a good instructor.

this teacher's refreshingly brisk approach makes the topic of philosophy pertinent to the life-related concerns that face us in the present state of affairs; her appraoch to teaching philosophy of religion has renewed my own interest in this subject, chiefly because she shows that she has a personal interested in the subject matter herself

Great teacher! will give extra credit. Assignments only take 20 min or less. Must attend class!!! Test are clear and simple and are on things that were discussed in class. One of the best teachers ever! Very involved you can email her any questions.

Ms. Spector is great! she is always so excited and really makes the class fun and interesting. All of her assignments are easy, but the best part is that her tests are all open book, open notes, and discussion! take her!!!

Easy A? No way! You have to think hard in this class and you cant have absence. Sure the class is fun and I learned and even though there were many assignments, they were very interesting. This class caused me doubt so much and think for myself.

Professor Spector is a model for how a professor should interact and take interest in her students. She is extremely knowledgeable and would do anything to help a student out. I have never seen an instructor as enthusiastic as Sterling Spector. Even from the first class I felt she was from another realm, and you can tell she loves philosophy, her eyes get sparkly when she teaches. I was impressed by the ammount of information she new. The way she teaches seems lax, but you'd be suprised on how much you grow by the end.

The point of philosophy is investigation, analysis, & the pursuit of wisdom. The point of a teacher is to have them impart knowledge and help one learn through experience. Ms. Sterling is no doubt in my mind a philosophy teacher. I am glad to have come across a teacher that still has the passion to see students learn & understand, not just teach.

I stumbled upon this class. I never thought when i enrolled that this class would be my most favorite, but Ms. Spector made it so. Her passion not only for phil but also for her students learning are only some of the qualities that make her the best. Phil 14 - Prof. Spector is the best teacher ! She helped me take my thoughts all the way through to their logical conclusions -- some of which were hanging midway for decades. Spector is a fantastic teacher. I had the pleasure of taking her Philosophy of Religion course this past spring semester. Her teaching methods are commendable and her insights on the information learned is worth learning. It's also very easy to be open about how you take and perceive the information. I truly enjoyed my experiences with her.

Show up and you'll likely getting a passing grade unless you're a complete simpleton. If you want an A you will have to use your head a little. Either way she's an awesome teacher that actually wants you to learn and more importantly, understand.

Wonderful teacher. This was my first philosophy class and I loved it very much. Spector is so sweet and passionate about the subject & gives you so many chances to get an A in this class it's impossible to get a B.

She is my favorite professor so far. Really easy A! She emails you an outline beforehand showing the main points of the lecture as she explains more in class. Attendance is important to get an A. Professor Spector is a marvelous intructor. Her class is truly engaging and it gives a comprehensive intro to the Philosophy of Religion. The first day of class she charismatically gave us all the Platonic challenge to become Philosopher Kings. Questions, discussions, and minor debating is allowed so be prepared and enjoy!

The only difficult part was the essays but other than that the class was a blast! She connects with her students & loves what she does. Shes such an intelligent, inspiring person, you'll love her! As long as you do all your assignments you'll pass n the we have group tests. I never read the book and i got an A. Take her!

Sterling was enjoyable & very helpful. Work load was not heavy (2 essays, 3 tests, 1 final) but reading is definitely required & recommended as it helps understand the material thoroughly (especially when she is lecturing, so read before lectures!). She pushes for critical thinking while allowing you to voice your opinion/concerns. I recommend!

I took this class for credit so most if not all the time I was confused during her lectures. When you take her tests, first you do it alone, then you get into a group of four and talk about it and take it again all together, which was nice since I did not get philosophy at all. Easy A, one essay, like one easy project, and the book is cheap.

What I really like about her is how passionate she is. She teaches with patience and love for her work, she also respects her students and is willing to receive questions in which she explains but then makes you elaborate more so you can really get it. Just study for exams and you'll be fine.

I took Professor Sterling for both Intro to Phil and Phil of Religion and she is truly a gem. Not only is she extremely passionate, but she really cares about her student's success and well-being. Shes nice. There is a lot of info but the quizzes are easy. Its an easy class. 4 quizzes, a lot of discussion post and 3 papers. She is very lenient on due dates she will change them so that everyone will turn them in. Its an easy class if you do the work.

This is one of the greatest classes I have had the opportunity to take. Homework assignments were easy and straight to the point. Assignments were two essays, 2 quizzes, and a final and midterm exam. If you respond to her questions on the announcements she will give you an extra 25 points. This class is impossible to fail, please take her! :)

This professor put on such a potent course for us this semester, I feel as though I have gained a more intimate understanding of philosophy and why it exists. As well as how I can implement these teachings in my own life.

Professor Spector was one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. She leaves the most thoughtful feedback on assignments and makes me feel good about my work. Your entire class grade depends on 12 assignments. Each quiz/test has a PDF of the questions and answers linked before you open the test. Overall super easy class and professor!

Professor Spector really made Introduction to Philosophy interesting and fun. I like how well organized she is by providing the outline prior to her Zoom PowerPoint lectures. She is engaging and enthusiastic. The textbook was easy read. She was available for question either by email, canvas, and Zoom. I am looking forward to take another course.

I took her class in Winter. Great professor! She makes philosophy simple to understand, Highly recommend! There are discussions, quizzes, final exam, and two essays (mini-essay and final essay). Her textbook "little history, philosophy" is really good book and really helpful for the students to understand philosophy/philosophers in simple way.

I truly enjoyed this class so much. If you need a winter class but are concerned about a heavy workload, this class is perfect! She designs this course with your success in mind, as long as you put in the effort you should be able to end this class with the grade you want. Although her lectures (If online) are not mandatory, I highly encourage you to participate. She can give you direct feedback and you get to share your ideas with her and your classmates.
