Professor Rizr was awesome. She was understanding of unique student situations and was exceptionally helpful. Course material was difficult, but extra credit was offered.

She's incredible. Legitimately cares about not only your success in the course, but more so your learning and retention of the material. This professor expects commitment as well. If you want an "easy" A, look elsewhere. To be successful in her class you must bring initiative and take responsibility for yourself. Then, you'll earn an A easily.

It isn't an easy class, you will have to study but if you put forth an effort, she will go above and beyong to ensure you understand. Her lecture style is fun and conversational. She makes the material interesting and memorable. I wish she taught other classes so I could take her again.

If you go to class and do your work, you will get an A. Also be sure to study for her tests. They aren't impossible, but she also doesn't make it easy. Mrs. Rizor is a fun, easygoing, exciting teacher and she makes it worth learning biology. Definitely would recommend taking her class!

This was by far the best BIO class that I have ever had the privilege of attending. Mrs. Rizor is fair, and has a way of explaining the material with ease and relatability. If you have the opportunity to attend her class I would highly recommend taking both lecture and lab with her as they tend to cross over.

Well there are a lot of things I can say about my professor, but because I have to keep this comment clean that knocks a few off. Rachael Rizor is a teacher who tells you from the day you walk in that the class is as hard as you make it. She is very lenient with grades and she knows nobody wants to be there and tries to make class fly so we can go.

Always gave a hundred percent and expected it in return... Always patient and truly wanted us to learn the material... She did not just breeze over it. A Great and professional professor. I highly recommend.

Professor Rizor is a great teacher. She is pretty awesome in both Lecture and Lab. If you find yourself struggling in class she take time to make sure you understand the material. I recommend her to anyone. I would say do not slack in this class the work to me was fairly easy to do.

Really fun and interesting. She likes the subject, and is a good bio teacher. She will show a lot of videos that are just fun to watch, but they are short, and they fit with the material. Would definitely take another class from her.

On the other hand in lab shes a good teacher but its a lot of work, she goes straight by the book, i recommend getting another teacher where you will understand the material a lot more. Ms. Rizor is a great professor. She takes the time to explain the material to make sure you understand. Do the extra credit early to get the most points. Make sure you study each thing she tells you to study, it will be on the exams. Be in class, on-time, everyday. If you miss a lab you will have to make it up. Heavy to medium work load.

Best teacher I've taken at csm. She is really helpful. Really easy grader. If you do the work you will get a A or B easily. There are 3 exams and they are super easy.. I also took the lab class with her. Lab is actually more work then the class. A lot of work but it's really easy stuff. If you need a bio credit , TAKE HER CLASS :)

She's was a wonderful teacher and if I needed another science class I would no doubt take her again. Was really enjoyable, does not accept late work but never really had that problem. Tests are long but if you do the homework you will have no problem with the tests!!

She is so funny and really does her best for you to succeed in her class.

This was a lecture class and Prof. Rizor broke things done so I could understand biology. She gave good suggestions on how to learn the taxonomy and applied the things that we were learning to everyday life which I found extremely helpful. She provided opportunities for you to earn extra credit and was upfront and honest.

I really enjoyed the lab. Prof. Rizor made the class interesting and fun. I especially enjoyed when we had to name the species and work on projects as a team. The group projects were fun and learned more than I thought I would in this class. I took it as a requirement and it wasn't as easy I thought it would be but in the end, I enjoyed it.

If you do the work on time and read assignments you will pass. She is clear and precise on what is required to pass the class and willing to help you understand material. She gives good feedback on assignments and was accessible to students.

Ms. Rizor made the lab class as fun as it was going to get. She's one of those professors that really has a sense of humor. You will have homework in the lab class, but don't worry it'll only be a page or two. Do the extra credit that's offer early in the semester and you will pass easily!!

Professor Rizor did a great job of teaching Zoology. I'll be honest, when I signed up for the class, it was because I needed a science credit. By the end of the semester, I was genuinely interested in Biology and am considering modifying my major to something more science related. I would absolutely take a class with Professor Rizor again. I took BIO 1020 online and I could not be happier. It was my first online class but professor Rizor had a clear cut outline and clear expectations. She also was very good at grading and answering emails. If you take the time to do the work this class is not difficult.

If you need to take a BIO general education requirement class, sign up for Professor Rizor. Her syllabus is clear so you will understand everything she expects from you. She grades within a day or two after you turn required work in so you always know how you are doing. She responds to email quickly if you need anything.

Good Professor grades assignments in a quickly manner! If you do your work youll pass. Not a big fan of TEDTalks, but still got an A on the assignments!

Professor Rizor gives great feedback on all turned in assignments. There are two projects for the class that are 20% of your grade. The project I turned in was done incorrectly and she allowed me to correct it for a higher grade.

She clearly cares about seeing her students do well. If you're having trouble, and you actually work in + care about the course, she'll be very willing to help you. I had a problem with the final exam and my grade dropped from an A to an F and she was willing to extend the deadline for me. Get started on your project early.

Professor Rizor is great ! She is very good with communication, and will work with you. I had no difficulty with this class. My grade simply reflected me completing things by the due date and being as accurate as possible. If you take her Bio1020 L as well, then test/ photo journals are the biggest things to worry about. Over all I enjoyed her.

Best teacher Ive had at CSM by far. Is so reachable, accommodating, actually cares about her students doing well, and made this weird online semester actually fun. Would so recommend her, you wont regret it.

I really enjoyed the class I took with Professor Rizor. Her class allowed me to critically think about topics that I would normally think about. Her class also allowed me to feel like my opinion mattered and to learn about very interesting subject matter. She even tied the class into Maryland and allowed us to learn more about our own local area.

Professor Rizor was wonderful to work with and really took her time to communicate, understand, and help students understand, teach, and complete the work that was required, especially due to the ongoing pandemic. She was extremely thoughtful and considerate and I would definitely recommend having her as a professor .

Professor Rizor is an excellent teacher. We didn't use textbooks in this class, but she provided Power Point and/or Word Documents that had the lessons we needed for each module. The directions for each assignment are clear and easy to understand. She always posts reminders of due dates and always offers the chance to email her with questions.

There many be a lot of work but its easy and Mrs. Rizor is a fair grader! (I also took a shortened semester online so thats probably why there was a lot of work but its not that bad)

I highly HIGHLY recommended planning beforehand. Look at labs that require you to go somewhere or have certain materials because nothing was worse than not having items to do an assignment. Tests were a bit hard but everything else is quite simple. Overall, Professor Rizor is an understanding person and very easy to talk to if you need help.

Professor Rizor made sure everyone felt welcome and knew they could always ask her for help. She always made herself available and made sure everyone knew what they were doing and were able to complete the work. She gave many chances for extra credits and did all she could to ensure her students would pass.

A wonderful teacher. Just finished a mini-class with her, although it was a lot of work weekly, the work was manageable. 2 discussions, 1 test, and a few assignments weekly (3 chapters a week with reading) which she grades quick and gives great feedback. The work was fun and very interesting. Would take this class and her again.

Professor Bateman is my favorite professor so far. She is caring and genuinely cares about her students. She answers back fast and emails you when something big is due in case you havent done it. She understands that people have school and work and gives you plenty of time to do the work.

Professor Bateman is a caring person, who is great at what she does. I have definitely learned a lot in this class. She responds to emails super fast. She will answer any questions or concerns you have. She also helped me to be stress free when I was a little stressed about my plant growth experiment. I would love to take a class with her again.

She is a wonderful professor and I have taken many classes taught by her. Although I got a B in this class, out of all of the other I have taken from her I received an A. Would I recommend this class? Yes if it is taught by her, but no if it is still offered as a 7-week course through CSM. Those 7-week classes do not offer enough time to learn.

Professor Bateman was one of the best. She was excited about the class which rubbed off on students. She was efficient in getting back to students about any and all questions they may have. If you got a low score on a grade she would show grace and allow you to revise your work. I would absolutely suggest her is she is an option for you!

Amazing! I have never liked science but she made me enjoy this subject! She gave feedback whenever you needed it and she was so fast to respond to emails. Her class was the first in person class I had taken since COVID19 hit and it was all I could of hoped for. She makes class fun and she is very understanding of what you have going on.

I didn't have to reach out very often, but when I did she was always easy to get ahold of and was very thorough with her responses! She had great energy and was super sweet I will certainly take her again.

Rachael Bateman is an excellent teacher and took time out to explain the things that I did not understand. This was the first biology class that I have ever taken and she was very understanding. I learned a lot in her class, more than I expected to learn. I definitely recommend anyone taking a zoology lab class to take hers.

As a returning student, I was worried about getting back into my education and the consequences of that choice, Mrs. Bateman showed me why its important. Her class was well placed and spaced out despite the 7 week time constraint, and I've left much wiser than I was going in. I would recommend her, especially for this class up and down!

Professor Bateman is a professor that genuinely cares about the outcome of her students. She is easy to communicate with outside of the classroom and she gives good responses. She is willing to help you out with any problem you might have. She also really tries to make the material she is teaching interesting.

I had professor Bateman for Zoology and Zoology lab and got an A in both classes. The Zoology textbook is online. The lectures where informative and we usually had extra time at the end of class. The labs were fun and helpful and the tests were pretty easy as long as you do the study guides. 10/10 would definitely take again.

Amazing professor! Her work was simple, and directly applied to the class material, so I never felt that I was wasting any time or effort. If she cancels a class for personal reasons she will send an email! Check email before every class. Due date is due date. unless some technology issue happens. She struggles with technology be patient.

100% would recommend, I chose the zoology class specifically for Professor Bateman! Just make sure you keep up with the assignments there will be a decent amount. All the homework and quizzes were open book, the only thing that wasn't was the midterm and final.

Professor Bateman is the best on campus; she is really easy to work with, helps you understand the material in multiple ways of learning, and finds new ways to make class fun and engaging. My 3 hour class felt like 30 minutes because of how fun it was.

This course was thoroughly enjoyable; the work was very hands on and interesting. I absolutely loved having Professor Bateman. She's really the only reason I took this course. Expect to learn so many interesting things about the ocean and marine life in BIO 1200. This was only suppose to be an elective, but the material and topics were very intriguing.

She does a good job teaching the subject matter needed to pass her class, and the instruction in her assignments is clear and straightforward. I had fun working on the presentation slide assignments. I never felt stressed taking her class, and I learned a lot.

This professor was very good about replying to all inquires and provided timely and accurate feedback when asked. It make the class very easy to follow.

She has even helped me out when my computer gave up on me and extended time so I can redo the assignments that I can no longer access on my normal computer. 10/10 would recommend.

She gives great feedback for eatery written assignment and gives you the chance to make necessary changes and submit them again to improve your grade. Her criteria is very clear and she will tell you in advance about all the assignments you have for each module.
