This teacher is the worst I have ever taken. She is always late and very disorganized. You do nothing in the class till the last two weeks of the semester and then she piles on three months worth of work. Does not answer emails or offer any help. Strongly recommend everyone not to take her class
i really liked her but you have to be smart. dum people or people who want an easy teacher should not take her because she expects a lot. her lectures are very good but take notes and do the reading or else you will get a bad grade. i recomend her and my friends are taking her for spring.
She was just awesome. But don't even think of taking her class if you just want a humanities credit because you will work. I learned so much from her though and she is the best teacher I had at SCC. Her class is hard but she makes it fun and she is always smiling.
Take this teacher if you can. She is very, very good.
A very cool teacher.
She is extremely intelligent, and pretty.
She was a lot more interesting then the other teachers at Scc. and she is easy on the eyes
This woman should run for president. She is too damn smart to be teaching. But Im glad she was my teacher. Her class is cool.
Hard, but before all tests gives you the important information. Very liberal, so us conservatives must keep to ourselves.
Just a great teacher. Gives an interesting class.
Ran into a friend of mine at UCF and we both said she is our favorite teacher. I wish she taught here so I could take more classes from her. Just loved being in her class. Take the 18th and 19Th Cent class.
She is NOT easy on the eyes. I don't know what kind of teachers these people had who said she was, but she is NOT in any way. Also, bring a pillow to class, she is boring as hell. There are no notes, only lectures, and stupid kid-like group work. If you study and do good on the research paper you will get a B, but i HATED her and her class.
Well I liked her and she IS Hot. Not many teachers have a body like that and she is funny. But I did think her class was a little hard. I am an A student but only made a B in her class. Don't miss class and turn papers in on time for sure.
she is the best prof.i've ever met.Easy asign..easy tests..very linient with student nd yes,she is veryyyy nice at teachin nd she's NOT borin. Its the subj dats borin.I wud defin recommend her.Do take her..she's NO regreat.
THIS TEACHER IS AN EASY "A", OR EVEN "B", YET THIS CLASS PUTS YOU TO SLEEP....SO EASY BUT THIS COULD BE BORING !!!
Nice instructor and helpful. Her class is interesting and I do not miss any of the class. We watch movies and have fun. As an international student, I strongly recommend her class.
THIS CLASS IS REALLY EASY ! I HAVE TO SAY IT'S AN EASY A OR B YET THIS CLASS WILL PUT YOU TO SLEEP GUARANTEED !! I MEAN SHE EVEN EXTENDS CLASS PAST WHEN THE PERIOD IS OVER LISTENING TO HER B.S. ! YES IT'S EASY SO EASY GRADE BUT PUTS YOU TO SLEEP!!!
I did not find this class to be easy, but I did think it was fun. I did not think it was boring, but I am Asian so maybe I thought the information is interesting. Most of all it is a very good class to take and Mrs Braaten is very open minded. Recommend.
This class is hard as he__, but I like the instructor. She knows everything so ask a lot of questions. BUT NOT JOKE THIS CLASS IS HARD.
Professor Braaten is awesome!! I would recommend her as a professor to anyone!! She makes humanities fun and interesting plus she is really nice and generally cares for her students! Great Teacher!
Ms. Braaten is a cool and down to earth professor. She can hold you up in class and keep you entertained with lectures (even if it can get annoying), as long as you go to class and do work.... easy A or B... AWESOME TEACHER!
Mrs.Braaten is a great teacher. She goes over exactly everything that will be covered on a test. Though she doesn't really learn how to pronounce your name. The topics she goes over are very interesting.
Mrs.Braaten was not very helpful. I would ask her questions about assignments and her answers weren't very clear. She wasn't exactly nice to some students, not just me.
I thought she was great. She was always nice and really funny. I never wanted to miss the class. I want to major in Asian Humanities now, the class was so interesting to me. In my opinion she is the nicest teacher.
she cool. very cultured.
Prof. Braaten made what would be a boring 18th/19th century class interesting with parenthetical stories and relation of the ideas of the time with those of present-day. She seemed genuinely interested in helping students pass the course. My only complaint was that she read directly from the text too much, since no one read it themselves.
Great teacher. She's slightly disorganized and often sits during class, but I think it brings her to a more even level with the students. A little effort needs to go into the class to pull an A. I definitely recommend her.
This is a teacher who actually cares about the students and takes time to help students who ask. She also brings humor into the classroom with the lectures. I would recommend her.
A true deinition of what a teacher should be. She cares about helping her students and wouldnt hesitate to help/work with any student in her class. She allows discussion in the class on the stories/poems/Plays for each student to get thier own interpretation and get them thinking. Shes by far the most fair teacher Ive had.
Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. She is so passionate about humanities, and she really knows what she's talking about. Not biased, unlike other teachers. Her lectures are interesting, and I always looked forward to going to her class. She also returned assignments/tests quickly. I recommend 18th/19th century class.
Ms. Braaten is my favorite teacher of my entire college experience. At times she can seem a little haughty, but she is extremely helpful, and she sincerely cares about each student. Her teaching style is straightforward and I hope to take more classes with her. She is one of the most intelligent and charming women I have ever met.
Just the best teacher ever. You will see what I mean if you take her. This was my favorite class and I never wanted to miss. I always learned a ton and it was just plain fun to be there.
A passionate, vibrant, well-prepared, challenging professor. Scc is lucky to have her. Inspired me to transfer into film school after taking art of film in 2006. Professor is challenging, but to rise to it and meet the challenge is what TRUE Academic experience is all about. RECOMMEND!
Best Teacher I've ever had... Helpful, understandng, beautiful... and just really effing cool. She's very passionate but dont get me wrong, you still have to do work but she makes it a great experience
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS EVER!!!!! SHE IS CONSTANTLY LATE, DOES NOT TEACH THE SUBJECT, READS FROM THE BOOK, AND HOLDS US LATE... it was Hell on Earth for me to even show up
This made me resent being in the Honors program... she can not teach to save her life... the class was a HUMANITIES course on ARTS AND IDEAS and she taught about HISTORY AND POLITICS
I did not like this professor at all. She was always late and never gave the assignments back on time. She always held us after class was over. I basically had to learn everything on my own, which made learning the subject even harder. If you take this class be warned that you won't understand the subject once the class has ended.
I loved the class, but a some of honors students didn't because they had tests from the class before and she didn't use any of them! She had a new text book and people actually had to study! It was pretty funny, but a lot of pissed off people. It was all contemporary Asia.
CHALLENGING TO SAY THE LEAST. I really liked the politic we studied though and the teacher was okay, but she basically spoon fed all the idiots in class which got annoying.
I thought the class was good. But I love Asia. It helped with my history major. We covered all major issues in 20th and 21st C India, China and Japan. The book was dry but it helped to do the recommended reading--I was the only one that read it. I liked Braaten, but she expected good essays.
I thought this class was great! Prof Braaten really loves what she teaches and it shows.
Took the Japan class with her and traveled to Japan with her. I highly recommend taking her travel course. She is really cool and it was the best experience of my life!!! The class and the trip changed my life for the best! She had great discussions with us.
Great Teacher, super easy to get along with, fun to look at.
Had her for both 20th Cent Humanities and Asia Art, she's a very friendly teacher with a great deal of knowledge and actual experience, unlike most profs who have only read about what they teach in books. She's also pretty good looking.
very down to earth and laid back. Deff. stay on top of your syllabus and preread so you know what to expect in class.Sucks last semester the prjector had problems so a lot of her movies were really blurry. But other than that she really shows you the beauty of asia and you learn new interesting things everyday
shes the bomb. One of the best teachers I've ever had
Professor Braaten is so AMAZING. She knows her stuff and you can tell that she just love what she does and enjoys teaching the subject. HUM to me, tends to be really boring, but she made it fun. I really enjoyed her class and if I had any more HUM class to take, it would be with her. TAKE HER, you will not regret, JUST DO THE WORK!!
I just finished the semester with professor Braaten. I really enjoyed her class. She's very easy to get along with. She's fair. She really knows her stuff, after all she's been to pretty much all of the countries that we discussed in class. Her exams are easy ONLY if you study. Take Braaten, you will regret it:-)
Best professor. You must stay up with work assignments. But almost impossible not to get a A if you do your work.
took her online class for 18/19 cent. humaies.it was extremely easy!!! everything is laid out clear in the syllabus. i was a bit nervous considering it was my first online class, but it was very easy!
Great teacher, taken her for Asian Humanities and Art of Film. Super easy! Really nice, will help with any questions. And little to no homework. Great for a fun GPA booster! Definitely take this Prof!
Professor Braaten is a great professor. She is passionate and make the class very interesting and thought provoking. She has been all over the world and incorporates her experience into the lectures. You do have to do your part though, don't treat this course like a joke. Would definitely take Braaten again!
art of film was a great class.Braaten knew exactly what she was talking about and could answer any questions. The assignments are easy, you just need to keep up with them or else you'll have a bunch of journals to do in one night. She accepts late work, you just need to ask her about it.Take her class, you learn a lot and it's hard to not get an a!
I took her online 18th/19th century humanities course. I was scared for it being my first DL class but it was really easy. It is completely all online (including exams). You do need the txetbooks in order to complete your assignments. It is very straightforward and an easy course. Not much interaction with the professor but she is readily available
Super easy class. Watch a film everyday and do 10 1pg double spaced journals on 10 of the films, Midterm and Final both online and open book and 1 presentation you can do alone or partner up. As long as you do the work and present, she gives 100's on everything. Also has passion for subject and is an easygoing teacher, DEF take, easy A
discussion forum and chapter questions due once each week and 10 1pg double spaced journals on the chapters due at the end that you can do as you go, 4 unit exams and final all very easy. Overall best online class i've taken. EASY A love this teacher!
Took her for Asian Humanties and it was my easiest class for the semester. If you do your work, you will definitely get an A. All the tests are on sakai as well as all the assignments. She really tries to make her class as interesting as possible. Definitely the class to take if you need an easy A in humanities.
Took this course online last semester & passed with a B. Super easy if u take online and just remember to do all ur work on time! Highly recommend her:)
Best professor! Yes there is a lot of reading involved, but it is not anything difficult. Getting an A in this class is not an issue. Definitely recommend her
I had Braaten for Art of Film, and now I'm taking Humanities with her. Great professor, very helpful, and as long as you actually do the work with some effort, you're bound to get a good grade.
She is VERY helpful. There is a lot of reading involved. Participation in forums is required and the tests are easy if you read the material. All tests are timed in Sakai. Ask questions and maintain good communication. Highly recommended!
I was very disappointed with this class. I know its a film class but all of the films were AWFUL in their own way. I hated every one. The work is easy, but time consuming. I honestly don't think she read 1 journal or essay b/c I got 100s on everything. Easy A, but lots of BSing involved. Also she was very odd, and strange.
I enjoyed this class a lot. She loves foreign films--you will have to read subtitles sometimes. She is funny and quirky. Loved her sense of humor-it is a bit intellectual though. Don't expect to watch blockbusters. the work isn't hard, but you have to journal for each film.
Overall a pretty easy class. Weekly questions, discussion, and journal entries corresponding to the chapter read. You MUST have the textbook. There is also a research paper due.
Super understanding. She will work with you through your challenges. If you have a problem, ask for help. Doesn't appear to grade hard. My only complaint is that there were a LOT of people in this online course. Like 70. That made it harder to interact and have discussions. That said, the instructor was great.
I loved this professor and class! I was not initially interested in Asian Humanities but the way she teaches gave me a new prospective. Test are all on Sakai, which means open book/notes, her assignments are easy, and there is one paper you have to write. Overall this was an easy A and GPA booster. TAKE her!
This was a great class. It had ALOT of reading and written responses, but the assignments were pretty well laid out. You know exactly what is expected from you. I had an issue with one of my exams and she was very helpful in letting me make it up. Overall I enjoyed the class and the teacher! Would take again.
Amazing Professor. Make sure to buy the textbook but the paperback books can easily be found online. Participate and do the weekly assignments and discussion boards. A response journal is due at the end of the semester. Work on it as you go or else you will be left with a lot of work. Tests are based on the assignments and textbook.
Pretty laidback class, there is a fair bit of writing outside of class but nothing unfair or difficult. Do your work, get an A.
Prof. Braaten was easy going, very specific, and gave good feedback. She was lenient on assignments and reminded you of what was up next. Same assignments each week with reading, as long as you do the assignments and participate --easy A. I would definitely recommend her and take her again!
This was an extremely interesting class and I enjoyed it. I cannot fault the structure. take part in the weekly discussion, do the weekly questions and take the unit quizzes. Work on the journals as you complete each chapter. I completed the journals prior to the final to help with revision. I received an A in this class.
Loved Professor Braaten's class! The material was interesting, she graded quickly, always gave good feedback and was in constant contact with her students throughout the semester. Do the weekly assignments, tests and the journal entries and you will make an A!
I took her online and she always graded on time and gave good feedback. She is a great professor to take online I would take her again
Mrs. Braaten Is one of the best teacher's I've ever taken. Sad to say I've never met her in person I felt like I had an connection w. her over a computer screen. Her online class is very easy all you have to do is the work. She is such a caring humble teacher. If I could take her for all my classes in college I would! She's amazing don't hesitate!
Awesome teacher! Very understanding and super interesting class!
Although this class has a lot of work, I think that she was awesome and concise with what she was expecting. I actually ended up enjoying this class.
Professor Braaten is great! I took her onlone class 18/19 century humanities, and passed with an A. Show her you're motivated, and it's an easy A. I would recommend taking her to EVERYONE.
Great Course and Great Teacher. Thought it would be boring but it was actually interesting! Syllabus is laid out and you can work ahead if you want but assignments do creep up on you. Read the assigned chapters and do the work and you'll pass with an A. Only way you fail is if you don't try at all. Take her.
Lot's of homework but it was straight-forward and easy if you read the chapters. Make sure that you do the response journal and do it as you go. I forgot about it until when it was almost due, I got an A on it but would have been much easier as you complete each assignment/chapter. Great feedback. The book was interesting, a lot of pictures.
Super easy and easy A however, LOTSSSS of work. 10 page paper due at the end of the term, 1 main post plus 2 replies every week and a homework assignment due along with it. Test are 100 questions and there are 3 of them plus a very difficult final . I had more work in this class than my healthcare classes so get ready to work for it.
really great she is awesome
Amazing. READ THE CHAPTERS AND ANALYZE. Most of her assignments are discussion posts. She is responsive to emails and a quick grader. Her test are not hard and she does not throw curve balls all the answers are in the chapters. There are NO PAPERS, just stay on top of your response journals. Do the work and you'll pass.
Just watch one movie each week and answer the question that goes along with the movie. two easy tests and one easy project about a director.
You will be reading a lot for this course, discussions every week, tests are a little tricky but the class was an easy A if you do the assignments when due. She's very nice and responsive.
I love her so much very easy three exams and a final you have discussion post super easy dont judge you so there only way to fail is that if u dont do well on exams or do homework she deserves high ratings continue giving her high ratings she deserves it love her best humanities teacher ever
Lots of reading (two novels on top of textbook) but questions on exams/quizzes are easy. Only 3 exams (not proctored). discussions were fun and she gave clear instructions. She was nice and gave us updates/reminders.
I'm super glad that I took her class because there was no essay, we only need to write short paragraphs (around 200 words) of chapter discussions every 2 weeks. Her tests aren't very hard. As long as you participate in all the discussions and pay attention when reading the textbook you will get a good grade.
Prof. Braaten's Art of Film course was a very good course. 10 journal entries based on the movies watched in the course modules (250-275 word count), a research project on a director/producer, etc., a midterm and a final. She will give you the study guides for both exams and will accept late work but not for the research project. Take her :)
This was by far the easiest class I took at Seminole state. You mainly do discussion posts (counts for 50% of your grade) and then you have like 3 exams. They are all really easy as long as you do the assigned reading! Lots of reading you have to do but it is a really easy class and Professor is super laxed on grading.
I loved this class! Professor Braaten's class is very straight-forward and her assignments are very easy. AS long as you read the book and watch the assignment films, you'll do fine. I definitely recommend taking her classes!
She is very easy going professor. I found her grading is so generous. No extra burden. Definitely recommended.
This professor is VERY sweet and a generous grader. I never got less than 100 on a homework assignment the whole class. The reading can be a lot (You have to read the entirety of Walden in 2 weeks), but it's valuable information, and the discussion boards are fun. Overall, pretty easy class, but don't expect to pass if you put no effort in.
This class is a breeze! The professor is super sweet and generous with grading. The workload is manageable - just stay on top of the readings and discussion posts. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for preparing for exams. Highly recommend this course!
