She is so sweet! I had her for lab but I wish she was a lecture teacher because she explained some of the lecture information really clearly. The labs are not too hard, she is very helpful outside of class. If you do everything she says and follow the lab packet, you will be fine.
DOES NOT CURVE. you can earn up to 5 pts/test xtra credit. Mandatory, preclass quizzes, and hw for every chapter. Lot of work, tests arent easy or impossible (im an A student) but the averages in my class were 60s/lower. helpful & nice, but she will not wiggle on your grade and each test is 25% of your grade- 75% total. (rumored: 30% pass rate)
Nice professor, offered extra credit toward exams for proof of study. I?d recommend taking an introductory chemistry class before taking it with this professor. Material not covered thoroughly in class was included on exams; make sure you completely understand it before the exams. Class averages about 60%. Be prepared to study!
Try your hardest to take this class with another professor. Homework didn't cover things that were on the quizzes, and exams are extremely difficult. She often didn't have answers to questions, and lectures only touched on the topic which you'll be tested on in depth. Treats everyone like a freshman. No break at all. DON'T RECOMMEND.
She is too young to be old, but too old to be young. She helps if you need it, but she will also challenge you (quite a lot). Her lab is fairly easy as long as you read instructions and her lecture is easy. She offers extra credit all the time and her exams are easy! They are everything from the homework.
Professor Campbell for lab is great! You will need to understand what is going on in lecture to do well in lab. As long as you do the assignments (which ALL lab teachers require) then you will get an A. She is very fair in grading lab reports. For Chm Lect, all the professors require pre-quizzes and h.w so there is no way to avoid that.
You have to study, chemistry is very hard. Her tests are multiple choice and show your work. The show your work is hard. HW after class and quiz before. She loves CHM and is knowledgeable. She will help with anything you ask. Stays late after class. large drop rate due to not studying and missing classes. every class is very important. Lots of math
She is very good at explaining things and would even use examples from other things outside of chemistry to explain. She is tough on her quiz question choices, homework is not too bad but just takes a long time depending. She gives many good tutorials and practices quizzes on Angel that help. I reccomend her but in order to pass you must study!
You're graded for attendance because the lab is once a week and you must be there to learn. You get points off if your late (which I thought was dumb). But she's very helpful, she goes through the equations and help you understand them. The labs are pretty boring but if you try they're easy. She also gives extra credit. I wish I had her for lecture
Chemistry is hard. It's not like it was in high school. Thus, professor Campbell expects a lot of her students. If you plan on taking chem classes through Orgo II (or more), she is the professor for you because she will FORCE you to change your study habits in such a way that you will make it through subsequent chem classes. GREAT teacher!
She has a lot of questions on her tests that she never cared to go over in class. Quizzes are due BEFORE she even teaches you about the chapter, which is mind-boggling. AVOID
I enjoyed taking her for chemistry. There's no easy way out, read, study and give her proof of it at the exams for 1-4% extra credit. Making the quizzes due before class is an eye sore but it's only 5% of the grade. She really knows what she's talking about and will always help explain something in office hours. You either sink or float
very smart professor but should not be teaching. attending class is a waste a time if you take her you are better off learning from the book.
Shes nice but exam is hard. Has questions which is not covered in class. Runs through information on lecture notes quickly just so she doesn't alter the syllabus . She's good for chem lab but lecture I don't think so unless you already like chem or familiar with it to some degree.
It is true that attendance is mandatory for Chem 1 and each absence is 5% of your grade. Also quizzes are always before class. However the content is clearly covered if you take notes before class from book like you are suppose to. And homework is very hard, which is a plus in my book, because that made the test very easy. If you like chem take her
Good teacher that explains everything the best she can. Can sometimes get a little loopy but overall a good instructor. Definitely read the textbook before you go to each class
This teacher was horrible. The lecture did not correspond to the book, and then the test did not correspond to the lectures. She speeds through notes to finish on time (focusing on the easy and skimming the hard information). Chemistry is already a hard subject and this teacher made it even worse. I would never recommend her for anything.
Terrible professor.
She is a really great teacher and knows a lot about the subject. She is absolutely obsessed with Chemistry. She is really helpful. You just have to make sure you always attend class! She is very understanding. The only downside is that her tests are very difficult and she doesn't always cover everything that is going to be on the test in class.
The absolute worst professor at FGCU. She tells you to read the textbook before learning the topic in class and then barely covers it if at all. She introduces a new concept and then spends the whole class rearranging equations and confusing people.
She is WORST professor ever. She has fill in the blank PowerPoints, which she barely goes over so you basically have no notes to use for knowledge. Her homework and tests are impossible because of her lack of teaching skills. She's just a nightmare. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
While the abs are covered by every Gen Chem 1 lab class in the same way, my one pet peeve from Campbell was that she didn't grade the majority of the assignments in a timely manner. I didn't like this. Other than that, she's approachable & always willing to help.
For 50 min 3 times a week this lady knows what she's doing, so much information on canvas for you to study. Most organized and efficient professor I have run into so far here at FGCU. As a science heavy major I was happy to have such great background in CHEM to help me.
This has to be one of the WORST professors at FCGU. She explains things in the most complicated way possible when you ask her questions. If you miss a class it is automatic 3 point deduction from your overall grade, she sets you up for disaster. Her test are very short and hard, so it is very difficult to get an A. RUN FROM THIS PROFESSOR!!!!
One of the better CHM Professor on campus. Very clear in her lectures and uses visuals and videos too. Plenty of tests for 3 dayweek class. Explains notes in easy way. Lots of tests keeps students on their toes. Hard to get an A in CHM but then again its a CHM class so its hard anyway. Cares for students. 3% overall deduction for missing class :(
Buy the book and teach yourself. Never returned an email until after the final. Gives tests with way too many problems for 50 minutes. Never curved a test, even when more than 70% of the class got multiple 5 point questions wrong. Should not be a college level professor..
She is there when you need help but, she does not like to lecture. She gives out worksheets during class and expects you to know how to do them before even learning the content. Attendance is for a grade. She is a really nice person but if you have a hard time in chemistry then I don't think she would be good for you.
By far, the most clear chemistry professor at FGCU.. will help you if you need it during office hours makes lectures smooth and you can learn so easily with her clarity
She explained the material pretty well and the videos she posted were insanely helpful. Her expectations were clear and she was willing to answer questions in and out of class. I'd take her again.
Great Professor worth it
She is tough but she is a wonderful teacher. For most classes you do worksheets called POGILS with a group but occasionally she lectures. Make sure you always read the chapters she assigns so that you know what's going on and take advantage of the practice tests she posts on canvas. It's a lot of work but you learn a lot. I'm taking her for chem 2.
Do you enjoy lots of homework? Do you want to pay a professor to not lecture? Do you enjoy learning absolutely nothing and being tested on anything imaginable? Well then this is the class for you. By only doing group work and having one packet per group, I have truly found the best way for me to learn; but I also learn as much by not going to class
I don't mind the homework at all, it's totally manageable; however, the homework would be 100% easier to do if we had a lecture beforehand. There are barely any lectures which makes learning the material immensely harder than it has to be.
No Chem II prof is an easy A. However, Prof. Campbell makes the material as easy to understand as possible, and she gives extra credit. If you put in the work (including readings), youll be fine. The students who dont do well on her exams dont read or come to class. I havent taken Chem I in 3 years, but Ive still gotten A's on all the exams.
chemistry was very hard but if you sit with her after class and put in the effort you can pass this class. This was the hardest class I've ever taken but she helped me so much I passed her class. All I can say is you have to put in the work.
Not the best teacher, but if you know chem its a passable class
I took her for Gen Chem 2. I took another professor for Chemistry 1, in which I received an A. In Campbell's class, however, I struggled to even pass. I've never gotten a C in a college course before this and honestly felt like emotionally giving up 1/3 of the way into the semester. Her POGILS and general teaching style just seemed ineffective.
She is a wonderful instructor who uses group work to encourage her students to think together to understand topic. Not lecture heavy which is a nice change-up and relies on her TA's to assist in the classroom. Quizzes are small and not hard if you understand the material and her tests are both multiple choice and write-ins. Just pay attention.
She teachers maybe 30% of the time that you have her, the other 70% she hands out pogils which can be found online and done at home instead but nope you have to come to class because its mandatory, dont understand why i pay 1000$ a year just so she can give me a handout i can do at home, get ready to teach yourself
HORRIBLE! Passes out a worksheet and makes you teach yourself. Can not teach for her life and is painfully rude, avoid at all costs.
You can completely understand the material after spending more than 30 hours reading the textbook because she barely teaches in class, do the practice exams several times over, do all the practice problems/quizzes on Canvas, and still not get even a B on the test.
It's basically a flipped classroom and she expects you to come into class knowing basically everything. She relies heavily on the TA's. She is a strong believer that the grade you get is what you deserve even though you can work extremely hard and study but still fail. She is a caring individual but you have to do 200% to even think about passing.
no lecture time, in a lecture class
By far the worst teacher I have ever had in my life!!! Barely teaches in a lecture class, expects you to know everything before the class, hands out stupid POGILS that make you teach yourself in a groups, very rude, & refuses to teach or explain when the student has a question. Also when she does give a lecture she goes too fast for anyone to get it
She is a really nice person, but her teaching style could be a bit better. she lectures 33% of the time and gives out POGIL work sheets the other 67%. She gives 2 work sheets to a group of 6 meaning most people have to look on while others work out problems. You have to put a lot in to this class, because you have to teach yourself a lot of things
This professor is not recommended She hardly took attendance to give credit. One day we walked into class on a Friday and the TA handed everyone a small white paper and never informed the class what it was for and on the following Monday she told everyone to pull out the small paper that she had given us for attendance and obvi no one had it.
Would not recommend this class to anyone who is not strong in chemistry. She does not teach! You have to teach yourself using mastering chemistry and the textbook. Exams are very hard and she repeatedly said she does not care if we fail the class. Attendance is mandatory and will hurt your grade if you do not show up!!
She's heavy in mastering chemistry homework. Which if you're like me, due to course load, you'll struggle to even finish those, where one deadline is after the other. What you learn on MC is basic compared to the test where she dedicates 30 points to three essay Q's. If you have a lot of time to dedicate just to her then do it, if not then don't.
During my academic career, I have been easily able to get goods grades in classes regardless of how bad the teacher was. However, no matter how much extra time I spent studying during chem 1045 and chem 1046 I greatly struggled. This teacher never taught a single class, she handed out packets and expected you and your group to learn by yourselves.
She is the worst professor I have ever had by far. Do not take her if you want to pass chemistry. She does not teach what so ever and all you do is a group assignment in class everyday. She calls you out if you have to leave class early and is a very petty adult. Would not recommend to anyone. Take ANY other chem professor.
If you can teach yourself Chemistry this class is fine otherwise take anyone else. I had a 88 in Chem 1 without having to try very hard but she does not teach anything at all. Mastering Chem due before class is what you will be "covering" in class that day. Its more of her giving you worksheets without explaining how to do anything or helping.
One of the worst professors, the exams are very hard. First one is the easiest and it just gets harder from there. The final however, which is not created by her, is the easiest. Makes you think the level of difficulty that she made the previous exams were just because she's evil. If you put this class as your highest priority, an A is possible.
DO NOT TAKE HER. Worst professor I have ever had. She doesn't explain anything at all, and on the off chance she does, she will lead you in the wrong direction, and then give you a horrible grade for it. Very petty, super tough on grading, and very strict. If you get her, drop out or you will get a bad grade. Any other professor is a better option.
Took her last year saw her again and immediately dropped the class. BAD! Do not take.
Not my favorite professor. There isnt really any positive things I can say. All I ask is that you dont take her for your grades sake. unless you want to make this class a full time job dont take her.
If you are struggling in Campbell's class GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS! This was my hardest class I took at FGCU so far, but she's actually pretty helpful one on one. If the in-class group work wasn't graded I honestly never would have gone to class because it was a waste of time. There was so much group work but no one ever knew what we were doing.
Professor Campbell is the worst professor I've had to date. There is no formal teaching, all she does is she hands out sheets called "POGILs" and you are fed to the wolves. For the sake of your sanity and GPA, avoid this course at all costs. Take it over summer, or when you're 70 years old. BUT DO NOT CHEM WITH THIS PROFESSOR!
Okay, she is a nice person outside of class. Shee brought us cookies and fruit snacks on test days. However, the actual class was an absolute disaster. I went to SI sessions, studied the book, worked on the study guide problems, and watched the videos she posted for us and still barely passed. By the end of the semester, everyone was praying.
The way she structured her class was not beneficial at all. Some days, her classes would consist of group activities called POGIL that would be confusing if you have not learned the material yet. Her lectures were alright. Be prepared for a lot of homework and reading the textbook was way better than anything we did in her class.
Hard class; you need to put time into it. Have all A's and now this class. Four exams and the final replaces your lowest exam grade. Exams are around 20 questions, multiple choice and limited extra credit (3 points). EC towards hw grade but doesn't boost grade much. Class time is mostly working through group packets which aren't very helpful.
Dr. Campbell truly doesn't get enough credit. Her flipped classroom setting is difficult, yes, BUT it sets students up for success and making sure that they really understand the material. She is one of my favorite professors to this day. Be willing to work hard, and you will succeed.
Literal nightmare. If you rely on her lecture material and the SI only, prepare to take the class again. Her tests never match study guides. Shes a wonderful person but teaches nothing. You learn it on your own and then do group activities in class. Thats it. Straight A student but barely passed the class.
Honestly, people are way too harsh on Campbell. She is an awesome teacher once you get used to her teaching style. Chemistry is just hard in general, I think it is unfair for people to blame her for their bad grade. I took her for both chem 1 and 2, and yeah it was a lot of work, but I actually learned the material. She also gives extra credit!
She is a great teacher but if you want to pass you will have to go to her study hours every time and bring her questions that you need help with. You will do a lot of Chem 101 and Mastering Chemistry. occasionally she will post-practice on chem 101 for you to do... DOOO ITTT it helps because that is the most helpful thing.
Managed to get a B+ Chem is not my forte but I busted my ass for that B. If you can take a different professor, do it. Her class format is not very helpful and she doesnt lecture. You pretty much teach yourself. Her exams are 20 questions. She gives MINIMAL extra credit. Teaching method is not very effective. Most of the class failed.
Professor Campbell was an alright professor, but personally for me she has to be one of the worst professors I've ever taken. This is only because her teaching style isn't the best and is misleading. There's barely any extra credit. With the online switch, she was;t very helpful, the TA's were more helpful than her so I would lean on them.
Worst professor I've ever had. She does not teach at all, her class relies on your peers teaching you. While relying on your peers for your grade, tests are worth 75%. I got an A on every assignment and still did not pass. Even if she is the last Chemistry class available, just wait a semester because taking her class is a waste of time.
worst teacher ive ever had to deal with. Does not lecture at all and instead gives us youtube videos for us to learn from. While in class gives handouts and does not go over them or checks them so its useless.
Gives a ridiculous amount of homework, never have time for the assignments in other classes. I do a minimum of 4 hours of work per day every week for this class and I still don't do well. Hw assignments on Aleks are incredibly discouraging when you get answers wrong and makes you start the entire thing over again and I always start ahead of time.
Absolutely do NOT take her class. The exams are 80% of your grade, but only 20 questions. You get 3 wrong and you're done for. She gives out a major amount of homework only worth 9%. Does not teach in-class at all, just gives out worksheets that are 0% of your grade. The CAA tutors even had a hard time explaining her concepts. Take someone else.
Professor Campbell appears to be a nice person. I promise you that her tests are very tricky on purpose. You have to teach yourself almost everything in her "flipped classroom environment." Tests are only 23 questions and I'd say 6-7 have some type of tricks for sure! For the sake of your grade, avoid. It's just not worth taking the class with her.
She's a terrible proffessor, I am usually an inept learner and regardless of how much i studied and made time for this class it was never enough. DONT TAKE HER if anything do transient at a community college, its cheaper.
She used the Aleks program which you have to get each question right to move on and get credit, but look for 8 hours of homework for each aleks assignment. This class made me want to rip my hair out and drop out of college so
Literally the worst class I have ever done. If you want to spend your entire semester feeling like an idiot take this class. Literally it doesn't matter how many hours your spend studying you will still fail. Currently the Average for all the exam grades is a 52. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS IM WARNING YOU.
I want you to imagine a class where 70% of students drop, the exam average is below 50%, the prof doesn't teach, and you do 12 hours of work a day 7 days a week for 15 weeks straight to get told you "didn't do enough". To say this class was awful is an understatement. You will fail, you wont learn anything, and you will waste your money. Stay Away
She is horrible, all her online classes were videos from youtube that did not help with the actual exams. She does not teach, when you actual have class in person she waist time on things that have nothing to do with the actual material and does not go over stuff that actually matters. TRUST ME its not worth it do not take her class.
This is the rudest professor I have ever taken. She brags so much about how shes a first generation college student yet she talks down to all her students. If you have a question or need help dont bother asking her because she will degrade you and talk to you like your stupid. If you want to pass chem or learn chemistry do not take her.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! She waste all of class doing stuff that doesnt even pertain to the lesson. Youll spend all of your time teaching yourself. She is not a nice person either, if your smart do not take her even if shes the last professor on the planet!
By far the most difficult class I have taken throughout my education; the lectures are super quick and glaze over a lot of material without a lot of deeper explanation. Most of the time, class is such a struggle, as we are handed POGIL activities and have to try to figure what is going on by ourselves. Homework is super time consuming.
I should've dropped the class when I had the chance. If you just rely on her lectures and classroom the flipped lessons you won't pass. Lectures are very fast. This is why the textbook is necessary. Aleks (HW) usually takes more than 4 hours. The course is extremely test-heavy. If the teaching style doesn't work for you personally, drop the class.
Had no idea what was going on in this class most of the semester. This was not due to being absent or not paying attention either. This class never had clear instructions on how to complete anything, and anytime I reached out to ask for help I was met with condescending emails. Most frustrating class of my life.
Worst professor I have ever had.
You need to pay attention during the lecture and participate when she gives you worksheets. My class had TAs that helped a lot but she will help you if you ask her. She also lets you do test corrections for 5 points back on your exam, but its all or nothing so make sure you really pay attention to it.
If you are new to chemistry or haven't had a chemistry class in a long time DON'T take her class. Professor Campbell has a very difficult way to teach, she doesn't give lectures, which makes it very difficult to learn new concepts.
Was literally the worst class of my life, this was the class that inspired me to change my major from marine science to english because the class was so painful i never wanted to take another science class for the rest of my life.
She automatically expects you to know so much from the jump. My first semester here, and this class made me want to rip my hair out and consider changing my major completely! There is too much homework that takes HOURS to do and on top of that, it doesnt even count much to your final grade. DONT TAKE THS COURSE WITH HER! Youll regret it.
VERY difficult class in general, so you really need to put time into it. Her lectures aren't always helpful, but if you need help her TAs were amazing and she will help one-on-one during her office hours. She does exam corrections which are worth 5 points. Her exams were harder than the ACS chem final, which I guess is good idk
Rachel Campbell is the least understanding professor that I have ever met. Every time that I asked her a question she met me with a rude or condescending answer. Professor Campbell will suck the life out of you. Chemistry is already hard, she makes it 20 times harder with her short lectures and lack of explanations, and no study guides.
She's got a stick up her ass for no reason.
Professor Campbells CHEM1045 class was actually more simple than I thought it was gonna be. The course has a heavy reliance on ALEKs and Activ Assignments that will help you pass the Exams with good grades so make sure to do those! Rachel herself was also a very forgiving person! If I ever had a problem she was understanding and gave mercy.
Professor Campbell has some of the clearest grading criteria I have ever had. Any assignment done outside of class has plenty of resources, and Professor Campbell goes above and beyond to set up her Canvas page. Some of the quizzes were quite difficult, but there are enough of them to average out over a semester.
I had to withdrawal Prof Campbells chem 2 class bc I got an awful stomach virus right before the second exam & she was not accepting the doctor's note from FGCU student health services, she was not even trying to be understanding or help me have another chance at this exam. There's lots more to this story(word count) so just avoid her if you can.
Prof. Campbell gave very clear instructions, and I would highly recommend her for intro chem labs. She is a tough grader and demands quality, which I can respect, others might not. Can be a little condescending at times but always answers questions. Helpful in and out of class, w/ good feedback. + pretty funny and very passionate about chemistry.
I suggest avoiding taking ANY class with Rachel Campbell. While she is a nice lady, she is not lenient whatsoever with grades or due dates. While Chem lab isn't super hard, she will not try to make the course run smoothly for you. She gives pointless quizzes in-class that other lab professors do not do and she grades lab reports very harshly. AVOID
I broke my arm over spring break and was then diagnosed with strep throat and covid with a doctor's note. She did not excuse a quiz I missed regardless of the note (gave me a zero even with a note), refused to let me make up the exam I missed (the doctor's note forbid me from going to class for 5 days), and refused to curve a test everyone failed.
Campbell was a very intelligent teacher. She was always very helpful when I went in to ask questions. I strongly recommend going in to her office hours to have her explain concepts that you aren't sure about. She's helpful in labs and will make sure you do them right. Almost always done early. She was also very helpful even on maternity leave.
Professor Campbell is great. Her labs are straightforward and easy to follow, as she does give a quick rundown in class before on the background of a lab. Lab reports are weighed heavily, as long you can write well and understand the basics of a lab, you're set. She gives great feedback on reports in progress and is easily reachable in office hours
This class was for IDS 3920 University Colloquium. She was very nasty throughout the semester maybe because she was pregnant and was due in late November. She was not helpful at all and would recommend no one ever takes her classes. I will be repeating this course over the incoming summer and will do research first to get a better teacher.
Professor Campbell is good for Lab. She does a brief explanation at the beginning of the lab and the lab almost always ends early. Post-lab quizzes can be difficult but the lab reports are easy and she's not an exceptionally harsh grader. Just show up and make sure your lab notebook is complete and you'll do fine.
Her personality stands out and she's sweet. Do the notebook across multiple days if not the night before. She'll answer any and every question, she is easy to understand and makes lab as fun as possible.
I rlly didn't like her personality. She just often has a attitude and will over explain things for most of the lab and then say: what you don't remember what I said in the first 10 minutes of my hour and half rant. To the point where in some of the longer labs she would talk for well over a hour an half leaving us practically 30 minutes to do lab.
Campbell is funny and kind. She genuinely cares for her students and wants them to do well in lab. The labs are not very difficult and she goes over exactly how to do them in class. She is easily accessible if you have questions and is always willing to answer questions.
Professor Campbell is great! She goes through the procedure and will help you if you are stuck during an experiment. Make sure you have your notebook ready before class and do not turn the assignments late. For every day late, 10% gets taken off. Do ALL of the discussion questions in your notebook, and do all of the Pre and Post lab quizzes.
As someone who struggled with the concepts in my lecture class, her lecture before lab helped a LOT. Her grading criteria is clear, she's very easy to reach for office hours, and if you ask, she will look through your lab report before turning it in telling you exactly how to fix it, guaranteeing a good grade. Would HIGHLY recommend.
I'm an A student and I got a B, barely. Genuinely does not care about her students learning. Expects you to learn from pogils. Tests are multiple choice and tricky. Made me want to change my major, I didn't.
TERRIBLEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took her lab class. The test are hard even being open note. She grades lab notebooks easy as long as you write it before class. GO TO HER BEFORE SUBMITTING REPORTS. She will give you all the help and corrections if you just go to office hours!
Hated her lectures since they were so fast-paced, really expects you to have an incredible chem background which I didn't have, had quizzes every week and tricky exams
ghnytyj6tyjht6yf
Horrible teacher. She goes at a way faster pace than the lecture class and doesn't explain the material. Very hard grader and is unwilling to discuss questions regarding grades you have received on assignments. Post lab quizzes are extremely difficult and the majority of you grade is in your midterm and final which are more difficult than necessary
Do NOT take Rachel Campbell for Gen Chem Lecture. Genuinely the worst teacher I've ever had and not nice. Class average was a 50 on the first exam so she assigned MORE homework that was mandatory. When a student raised a good point that we don't have time for extra MANDATORY notes professor got mad and said we would do it the rest of the semester
Purposefully gives different style questions on exams than the ones you're given to study. Her lectures are hard to follow and understand, as she skims through material and loves to talk about anything else. She's nice, but ensures that her class is difficult to pass due to her exam questions compared to the questions given to study.
if you want to live don't take her, she is super nice, but the way she teaches is the worst. very unorganized, tests are structured in the weirdest way. she doesn't believe in extra credit, nothing gets reopened. i am begging you to seriously never take her lecture class. all of our class exams were failing averages.
Her lectures are the worst You don't learn anything your basically there sitting for attendance. Most of the stuff you learn is on your own time. She doesn't explain anything in class her tests are terrible they are not like the study guide. You will not survive in this class if you don't want to spend time out of class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I had her this past semester, she is very passive aggressive towards her students. She lectures as if you're already supposed to understand the material she is speaking about, for 2 of the 3 unit exams, the class averages were failing grades. You will have ALEKS homework that takes hours and doesn't align with the course.
If you are depressed and want something to push you over the edge this class is the one for you.EXTREMELY DIFFICULT class and she could care less if you don't understand the material. Even if her class matches your schedule perfectly DONT DO IT it's not worth the emotional and mental distress.Having no teacher is better than having her I promise.
