Teacher is very nice and very serious about teaching Sociology. She gives you the straight facts. She has everything on the overhead and posts most of her lectures on power points on Angel. All you have to do is a "journal" entry every week that applies to the chapter. The midterm and Final aren't easy but she does give you study guides.

I highly recommend her if it's your first semester in college. Make sure to take notes because you will need them to study for the exams and final projects. You will succeed as long as you show up and participate. Also, you will need to memorize a lot of terms and concepts, but as long as you can also make the connections it isn't too difficult.

Professor Hagewen taught the course with high expectations on giving us all insight into the social sciences and did exactly that. Turning in your assignments are necessary so missing assignments or turning in late work will make your grade suffer. But staying on top of everything should be your aim. Loved her feedback as it helped me to improve.

Dr. Hagewen's class is amazing, she is a great professor! You have two exams and a final project. She gives clear instructions for all assignments. Most of your grade is based on the in-class assignments, so attendence is mandatory. Overall, great class.

Dr. Hagewen prioritizes student learning and wants to help you develop your critical thinking skills. This isn't a class where you're just memorizing concepts. You'll learn how to think critically about social science topics. She connects concepts to real-world issues, which makes the course even more engaging.

The readings are a lot but she gives you plenty of time to get the work done. She also gives feedback for every assignment right away after the due date so you will know your grade and if you lost points she will let you know why so you can fix it next assignment. Book is FREE she uses a FREE online version so need to spend money on it!
