Give her a chance. She knows her stuffs well but I dont think she has much experience in teaching. She seems like a new prof. She just needs to be more confident in front of the class, speaks clearly and a bit louder. That'll come in time.

Not the best teacher, she does try, but its not good enough. Get the powerpoint slides, read the chapters assigned, dont attend class, you'll be fine. *Hint: make sure you read/understand coding examples, they DO show up on tests.

She knows her stuff but she's not very good at explaining it. Just download her slides and read and UNDERSTAND the book chapters. She uses examples in her midterm/exam. Do the labs/assignment yourself. It helps.

She is living proof of the need for an english entrance test for all professors. I don't care how much you know, it doesn't mean a thing if you can't speak the language (or even operate a simple powerpoint slideshow..)

Why is this person a professor at Ryerson? Seems like they'll hire anyone with a PHD, regardless of teaching ability or knowledge of English. She does seem to know her stuff, but that's of little consequence if she can't impart that knowledge to anyon

I can't beleive she still teaches....who gave her a Ph.D.???? You ask her a question and she says, "good question.." thats it! no answer! Dumb as a door knob and annoying.

Horrible prof, cant understand a word she says. extremely boring, always skipped her class for another profs. doesnt give a break, teaches right through, still some how ends up being behind??? switch to another section, before they all fill up.

Unknowledgeable, not prepaired for lectures (reads the slides in class, then tries to explain). Her knowledge of assembly is about the level of a student who took the course 3 years, got C+ and forgot most of it. AND NO ALTERNATIVE !!! Just read the book and skip this irritation.

CPS600 give me a chance to practise how to control a computer by using its basic instructions. Although Assembly Langguage is not as fancy XP, but the most important part of XP is implemented by Assembly languge.

Among all the profs I had/have, no one deserves my respect more than Dr. Jiang. I am sorry to see some of the unjust negative rating above. But I have to say, Dr. Jiang is a very nice professor, she explains things clearly and to the point. I have learnt a lot and wish to learn more from her.

I never find a professor like Rachel Jiang, who is always so patient for students,so knowlegeable and explain everything clearly. Professor Jiang taught me not only the knowledge, but also the efficient way to think and solve the problem. I learnt a lot from her and I am proud to her student.

Not sure if the other comments were sarcastic or not, but she is VERY hard to understand. She seems nice, but she cannot teach well AT ALL. In addition the course isnt fun at all. It is somewhat easy to get a B though.

She speaks very slowly and cannot control her class, so there is no need to go to her class but she is halpful in office, better than Panar.She is easy marker, i got B+ despite doing the final exam bad....

Her class is always entertaining. Not intentionally, mind you. Errors of fact leave you with a suspicion that the course was unsuspectingly dropped on her in the middle of the night, poor lab direction, and a total lack of classroom control will leave you laughing in bewilderment after class. She's a very nice woman, but lacks the ability to teach.

Ever notice how the people leaving good comments for poor ole Jiang have her lack of grammar/spelling prowess? Just a thought. The woman herself IS nice in person, but couldn't teach to save her life. Her English is... nonexistent, her lectures are a mess, but at least she's nice. I guess that's the most you can expect from Ryerson.

Horrible Teaching, asks students for help when asked a question, when students can't help her, she turns to the next chapter. Bad english leading to gibberish teaching. Does not know course material, does not know what she's doing, does not even know what you're asking her 100% of the time. Never take her course if you wanted to be TAUGHT anything.

She does not know the course material, and uses some other porfessor's notes. She does not even read the notes, and does not understand them, which becomes aparent when you ask her ANY question regarding course material. Stay away form her if you only can !! Attending her class is a waste of time and nerves :)

She seems like she doesn't know what she talks about. And whats worse is she gives bonus marks for participation. What is this kindergarten? If you ask her a question, most times she doesn't know the answer and doesn't help you find the answer either. Her course notes are some other profs and the sheets are basically your teacher for this course.

She has the intelligence of a three year old. Her quilted armour is a nice touch (since she is always wearing the same shirt as her picture). Writes the grammatical she makes while talking. Some quotes, "chmode(should be chmod) /myfuc (myfunct)/

Dr. Jiang has been given different courses to teach almost every term. No wonder there are so many unhappy students. The Chair of Comp. Sci. is also to be blamed for. How can anyone do a good job teaching, if the course you teach changes every 5 month with every short notice.

I don't even know where to start... She doesn't teach the course material in any way that's understandable, she sounds like an annoying dog barking in the background. Shes rude, spiteful to those who complain about her, and grades those that she likes or feels inferior to better. (She Try To Teach Us Artificial Intel for games)
