Rachel really helped me be a better writer and student. She help me outside of class and everything. Just be in class and on time and do work. She can help you pass the exams.

Very relaxed/laid back teacher. Just follow along in the text book, do the labs and you will find yourself with an A.

This is not an easy class but if you have to take it Rachel is the best. She wont let you skip class and miss assignments but you can revise all your papers and we do lots of group work and get to talk to each other.

She is realy understanding of sitututions however she still has her foot down. The work is not too hard. Yes, you hae to write a few essay, she starts you off simple in class and maybe 3 out of class. also, the lab work was esay too and she gives you an 100 even if you get a 70 on a lab, just as long as it is on time. If you ever need to email her a question she answers promptly and never gives you the feeling that you are asking a dumb question. I highly recommend her.

Best teacher @PBSC. Phenomenal. Every assignment was unique. Grades fair. After every paper graded, she returns it with comments & lwhat to improve on. Excellent Teacher! Very nice. You will work in groups at times, she makes it fun! You will not be bored. The class was not to difficult. You will do a couple of essay's and no finals, just a Thesis/Essay.Great class, no reason you shouldn't get an "A".

It's a lot of work. If you aren't prepared to study, read and write a lot, then don't take this class. If you are motivated and more of a self learner, it's definitely worth it, the professor will answer most of your questions.

This is the sweetest teacher I've ever had. She literally dropped the lowest grade you had, and gave you lots of opportunity for extra credit. If she felt the assignment was too confusing, then she added points for trying. Super easy and nice!

Prof. McDermott is amazing! I took her for ENC1102 and she is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. She is very kind and helpful. I like the fact that we get to work in groups, which makes the time go by faster. She will also drop your lowest grade. I would definitely recommend her for English or Literature.

I really enjoyed this class besides all the group work you can work alone but she will most likely call on you if you do her tests are journals about the stories you read and you can use your book and notes from class discussions would take her again! Easy a just show up and participate

Professor Rachel is great! pretty fair professor, her lectures are full of group interaction. It is important that you read before class so you are aware of the subject and can participate on the assignments in class. Attendance is a most! due to no take home assignments. all assignments are in class. She cares, if you need help she will be there.

She was one of my first online classes & it included A LOT of work done, but it's all REALLY easy. She posts all the work from the beginning of the course, so you could go ahead of the class. She also send you messages through BB & your PBSC email to advise of any upcoming assignments & she gives great & positive feedback. An easy A.

Lets you revise your essay once you have submitted it for a higher grade but not for the final. Class was pointless everything was on blackboard. really nice and caring, she encourages you to meet her during her office hours for help on essays.

Professor McDermott provides all of the resources for the class meaning you will be able to download the readings. She also supplies supplementals like videos, audio, additional texts, etc. You have to be familiar with the works and be prepared to write well. She gives great feedback and expects lively discussion.

LOVED PROFESSOR MCDEROMTT! If you show that you actually care and genuinely want to learn and make your papers stronger, you will pass. She was very helpful and always available. You write 3-4 papers, ASK HER TO HELP YOU. You are able to revise your papers if you don't get a grade you desire. She's an excellent teacher.

You'll be shocked to learn if you don't come to class or do the reading or work, you'll probably fail. Don't plagiarize either. Otherwise, you should do just fine.

She is a pretty great professor, her class is easy to pass and you don't have many assignments. She's very fair with the grading and even dropped all the bad scores for everyone in the class. I took her for ENC1102 and it was just the same. Do the readings because she bases the lectures and quizzes off of them. But overall it is an easy class.

Awesome professor! Took her for ENC1101 and LIT2090 (online). Her classes are fairly easy considering there is not much work to do. However, be warned! If taking LIT2090 online, she will make you do video assignments (record yourself discussing literature). The only thing I hated about her course, nonetheless, I would not hesitate to take her again

PROF. MCDERMOTT IS A GREAT PROF. AS LONG AS YOU READ THE SHORT STORIES YOU WILL DO FINE ON HER TESTS. SOME OF THE STORIES SEEM BORING BUT MAKE SURE YOU TAKE NOTES. PARTICIPATION IS A MUST IN HER CLASS. NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED. DO YOUR WORK AND YOU ARE GUARANTEED A PASSING GRADE.

1102 was tougher than 1101, but Prof. McDermott gave me chances to revise and improve my papers and grade. She was also available, even on weekends and always answered emails promptly.

Took her online for ENC1102. Every Monday the work load drops in and you have 1 week to finish it till the next work load kicks in. All grades are posted fast. You will have to know how to use blackboard. She will help you but you are mainly on your own. Good teacher overall but be prepared to read and write a lot. Way harder than ENC1101.

This wasnt an Easy A class but I ended up with a 96, which I am surprised about. Most of your grade comes from the journals and video responses so do good on that and youll get an A. She gives you all the reading material. And really understand what she asking of you from each assignments, itll save you a headache. Try your best and youll Get A

Great teacher. I've taken a couple classes with her, and my writing keeps improving each semester. She makes herself available outside of class, is respectful to everyone's ideas, and motivates you to learn. Whether or not literature is one of your strong suits, take her class. You will not regret it, just make sure you show up and do the work.

Her online course was so organized, she lets you know exactly whats due and when. This class was a 6-week course so I had papers due every week, but she replied very quickly to emails whenever I had any questions. If youre looking for an easy lit class online this is the one for you!! You have to be on top of your work but this is an easy class! She does make you do 3 video responses but theyre not so scary once you do it!! She does not require a textbook and the material she provides to read and is pretty interesting. Had a rough start with the class due to my bad attitude from not being able to take this with my favored professor. Reconciled with Mcdermott and started to do well in the class. She is really cool and I would recommend her to my friends.

Her class was so easy. You just have to do the bare minimum of participation in class, read the short assignments she gives you, and do the easiest writing and video assignments. Short, easy homework and little effort required. Totally recommend for an easy A .

Amazing Professor! I had Professor McDermott for ENC1101 and ENC1102. The grading in this class is very fair, and it helped greatly in improving my essay writing and critical thinking skills. Furthermore, you are given an additional revision opportunity for each major assignment, which is awesome.

There is no coincidence about the almost perfect rating she has. I took professor McDermott for my online ENC1101 class because I saw she had 4.9/5 stars and needless to say, she is amazing! I'm a high school junior who took LIT2090 online for dual enrollment. Professor McDermott was so insanely nice and this course was extremely easy. We had two assignments due a week (it was an express course) but it took an hour at most. She grades extremely quickly and her feedback is so kind! She's very understanding regarding attendance conflicts

Professor McDermott really cares and wants her students to succeed. Very organized material presented in a logical succession and always available to answer questions or meet virtually. I got responses even after hours on the weekend when I did not expect them. She's wonderful, I would suggest her classes to anyone!

This is my second class with her. She is a great professor. She uses interesting reading material and she replies to emails really fast. I took the accelerated online class so we had assignments/discussions due twice a week. To me the assignments were fun because I liked the reading materials she chose. The discussions had to be submitted 24 hours

I took 3 classes with Prof. McDermott and loved her! She worked with me outside of class and we were allowed to revise all our papers. Her literature classes have really interesting readings and I got to interact with classmates. Take her!!! You won't regret!

Professor McDermott was very understanding of outside circumstances and extends deadlines if you're having personal issues! Her assignments for this class were easy -- just analyze this piece for themes, characters, etc. and type or record your response. The readings for the assignments were sometimes quite long but they were interesting!

This was my favorite course this semester. Professor McDermott is kind, involved, and gives great feedback. She encourages you to find the meaning in the readings and her discussions were engaging and actually sparked conversation. Take her course!

So she's a good teacher no textbook needed i had her for my hybrid class and she's chill just show up to class and do her work and you'll be fine especially since after every writing assignment she gives you an option to revise it and turn it in again for a higher grade i promise do the work and you'll pass with flying colors plus she's sweet

She gives clear instructions. Do the work and you pass the class. For each module there is either one of the following video, discussion, or paper. The professor cares and in general a nice teacher. She does have guidelines to follow and expectations but it is rather simple. She will never load you with too much work. Great Class!

Professor McDermott is a wonderful teacher of Contemporary Lit. She had various assignments from poetry to short stories. Peer discussions is important and following directions. If she asks to analyze, don't summarize, but she gives good feedback and answers emails quickly, she also allows you to work ahead. So glad I took her course!

I loved Professor McDermott, she took the time to throughly explain assignments when I was unclear. A lot of what matters is participation on the group discussions, if you read through the assignment and complete the modules, it is very easy to get a good grade. I would take her class again.

Its a Literature class, so expect to read several poems short stories and non fiction essays. The thing I liked is that the reading were all about contemporary topics. You are not reading a Shakespeare but rather Angelou and short essays about the COVID pandemic. Grades very quickly. Great feedback. Turn assignments on time.

Professor McDermott was an amazing professor. Not much work to complete except three papers. She gives ample time to complete first drafts and final drafts of papers and gives amazing feedback to first drafts. As long as you correct what she tells you too in the first draft of your papers you are guaranteed to earn an A or B on every paper.

Profersso McDermott is not an easy grader but she did allow revisions and helped me understand better once I met with her on Zoom. She helped me bring my grade from a D to a B and I might finish with an A. Read the feedback and message her when you're confused.

Professor McDermott's online Summer A Intro to Lit class was great! I was expecting outdated literature pieces, but I think that she definitely utilized more modern and versatile things that were more digestible. In the end, I had around 30 assignments/quizzes/tests submitted. Most of assignments were discussions, quizzes, and NearPods. Great prof!

I was not excited to take literature, given I took ENC1101 & ENC1102. However, her class was not boring. She provided us with interesting literature and very detailed mini-lessons. The work can be tedious at times with video responses and discussions, but it is doable, and she replies FAST with HELPFUL ADVICE! loved her class tho

The professor is lovely, and the class itself is pretty easy. She grades discussions tough, but if you follow directions, you will pass. You have to do a few video responses that have to be 4-8 minutes long and are pretty time-consuming. Also, all assignments are due Tuesdays at 8 pm, and one discussion post has to be submitted 24 hours before.

Class was very easy. About 2-3 quizzes at the very start of semester abt syllabus and her PPT notes (open book and like 3-5 questions each), about three simple discussion posts with a week to do each, an ez Nearpod, an essay about an article (pretty short), an annotated bibliography, a draft of final essay, and a final revised essay.

Professor McDermott is an excellent teacher. She's very caring, responsive, and fair. It's hard to fail her class, there is no right or wrong, but you need to put effort into your responses. I loved the readings she provided. There was a wide range of different topics and readings about social issues. I thoroughly enjoyed this course.

Professor Rachel McDermott is very helpful to all her students. Every time I had a question, she made sure to assist almost right away. Workload is not heavy at all and it is a pretty easy class, however, participation does matter. Overall, I enjoyed taking this course and would definitely recommend it to other students!

Y'all she is so good like I was so scared I'd fail the class but she is the easiest and most caring professor out of every other professor I saw. I also learnt so much like my writing is ten times better. I know how to structure my essay, format etc. If you are struggling just get help from her, ask questions, and or get tutoring. I loved Professor McDermott. The class was easy and fun to pass as you followed each module weekly. There is no essay, but there are two required presentations of a face-to-face camera explaining a specific poem; notes are expected, but not word-for-word. There is a mid-term, and the reading log on which she tracks her progress.

She is fantastic, does a some socratic method which I liked. If you are a 504 student TAKE HER! She makes her classes super neurodivergent friendly and is super understanding to kids with learning disabilities. I have dyslexia and ADHD and PTSD and I was still able to churn out a really good grade. If you show up and actually try, you will ace it
