Good teacher, very nice, but her tests are pretty hard, sometimes impossible, just do the homework and you will get a B.
A great teacher over all. Exteremely helpfull, and has a lot of time for her students. quizes are fairly easy, however the test can be diffucult if you don't study, but over-all just an excellent teacher, and you will learn. High reccomended.
Knowing how hard stat is and how most mathteachers hella sucks, Rachel is sooo cool! Gotta take her of you can!
She helps me in the math center all the time and is VERY clear and VERY helpful. I'd take her for a math class any day!
She is a great teacher and is always at school either in her office or the math center. I would strongly suggest taking her class if you are not strong in math. She is also a nice person.
Probably the sweetest, clearest, and the most helpful teacher I have ever had. Just make sure you keep up with the materials in class and you should do well.
Rachel is probably the best math teacher in the world. I used to hate math, but her knowledge, enthusiasm, and charisma inspired me to work hard and find a meaning for math. No I kinda like math. She is an ecceptional teacher. You're the bomb!
Without a doubt the best math teacher I have ever had. If it wasn't for Rachel I might not have continued to pursue dental school. I only wish she had stayed at Foothill.
A KILLER Teacher!!!! I think all of these reviews of Rachel are very acurate. Like many others...She is def. one of the best Teachers I have ever had. Math is a very intemidating and difficult subject for me. I now I feel very confident in my Math career because of Ms. Mudge. THANKS Teach!
brilliant teacher! Rachel helps her students understand the material. Her examples and lectured are very clear and helpful. She is very patient, helpful, and passionate. Truely an inspiring women. :)
Rachel is a great teacher and she makes sure that everyone is on the page. She has a lot of patients
she seems nice at first, but really is trying to make tests as hard as possible. What she gives on lectures and quizes is far from what's going to be on a midterm. Tough grading. You have to work really hard on your own, because in class everything seems easy but home work that she assigns is weird
Lecture seems easy. Quiz (6), goddamn hard, exam (3) super goddam hard, final (1) super duper goddam hard. She is very nice, but there's no way that you would understand all the material. Final is comphensive 80% of the book. Take attendence everyday and count toward your grade. Continue on pg2.
This page continue from below. Overall, I wouldn't recommended her. She doesn't give a break on grading. She grades hella hard. She's very helpful and actually use e mail to answer your question if you have one. She does response very quickly.
I don't know what everyone else os talking about, but I think she is a great teacher & effort is proportional to your grade. She doesnt try to "trick" you like many people say.She is also one of the hottest teachers on campus.Im in her class & am trying to build up the courage to ask her for coffee.
she is a good teacher, but friggin natzi on taries and absences! She has no emotion outside of math, she will pretend to be you friend, but in the end, math is all that matters.
Rachel is the person that I will always be proud of her. If she grades hard, is not because she is a ?, is becasue she wants every student to know the material well. I took her class, and she grades hard but for statistics you have to put a lot of time because is just not easy. "SOMETIMES WOMEN HAV
"sometimes women have to be selfish" Rachel is one of the person that I will always be proud of. The reason she is hard is because she wants students to get the material. she just does not fool around and when u need her for she is there. od
I have to agree with the person below. Mudge is a new teacher that quite frankly is not very good. She plays favorites, she is anal about absences, thus she adores suck-ups and perfect students. She has no teaching style beyond what is in the book. I recommend a teacher with more experience.
Very difficult final exam. I won't recommende her.
I don't know what you guys are talking about, but she is the hottest teacher i have ever seen. I am a san jose state university student but i took this one class with her at foothill and i said WHY we don't have hot teachers like Rachel at SJSU.. You guys are very Lucky so open your books and study.
i have to say that she helped me so much in math so i recommend her to any math class thats shes teaching!!! shes the best and fun!!!
Material is fairly well explained. However, i felt that she did not cover the harder concepts too well. Exams are not easy, and she does not give extra credit. Office hours are not as helpful as i would've liked.
I LIKE RACHEL, SHE IS A REAL G0OD TEACHER
Rachel is a very dedicated teacher. As long as you show up, do your homework and study for the tests, you'll be fine.
she's awesome! she really knows what she's doing
I really enjoyed this class, though i wasn't there half the time!! She doesn't grade that hard, you guys giving her bad comments probably SUCK at math! Attendance and tardies does get to her, but overall she's great! And she's HOT too! I aced all her quizzes, and got an A in her class. Highly recommended!

Rachel is a great teacher.she is so patient and clear. she will do whatever it takes to help you understand the material and succeed in her class. i don't usually like math, but she gives interesting 'real world' problems. she's also a really nice and sweet person. if you have to take math, take it from her!
Rachel as a teacher is very professional and she explains very well, other than that stay away from that women and be careful when you turn your back.
I LOVED RACHEL!! shes the best math teacher i have ever had!! it was because of her that i have done the best in my whole life and also because of her i am confident about moving foward with my other math classes!! i HIGHLY recommend her to anybody! shes sweet, and has a sence of humor, which most teachers dont! I LOVE YOU RACHEL!!! ill miss you :(
Rachel is a very nice teacher. she explained the material very well and is available to help outside of class. she truly wants her students to learn. There are weekly quizzes that can be tricky and the tests are pretty basic. just be careful and dont get behind in her class.
I went into this class thinking that it would be easy to understand, easy to learn. everything was fine-everything was going great. and then, she modeled her final after katherine perino's. i'd be surprised finding people that got A's after that wipeout. should go back to teaching basic math.
Rachel is a very good tecaher. She is willing to help students. Also, she tries her best to help students to get good grade! I think she is the best math teacher in Foothill. Even though i am weak in Math, just follow what she require, then you will end up with a good grade! Highly recommended!!!
She is just a really nice teacher to have, Very helpful. Overall easy tests and exams, do the homework and you'll be ok :)

Coolest math teacher i have ever had~ I really enjoyed the class even tho i dont really like math. Very fair grading. U get what u deserved. Always there to help u out. Highly recommended!!!
Great teacher. Homework isn't mandatory, but quizzes are modeled after them. Great clear lectures in class that are really helpful. Wants you to do well and will help you after class/during office hours. She really makes math fun.
She is an extremely fair teacher who rewards hardworking students. Serious students only. People looking for an easy ride should go flip burgers.
she is a very good teacher, and her class isn't boring! I would highly recommend. Shes very logical so when she teaches everything really falls together and makes sense.
She illustrates easy problems in class, but have difficult questions on the midterms and final. Not recommended.
Fortunately for us, this was the first time she taught the course so her tests were really really easy. She doesn't know the material very well yet.I think she underestimated the class so there will be lots of A's. I just hope I am one of them.
Very good teacher, goes out of her way to help students.
this teacher is the best of the best math professors in my world.
The first time I took this class with a different instructor I learned nothing. When I took it with Rachel, not only did I have fun but I know the stuff now. She has a well balanced teaching method, mixing between groups and solo work in class. Plus shes really nice and helpful just make sure to do the work.
I totally like her!!
She's a good teacher, but her exams are outrageous. Know the material inside and out. Exam questions will be unlike anything you've seen & sometimes the problems don't work with the formulas that she teaches you--she loves to give trick questions on exams. Do your homework 2-3 times and don't miss a class and study and maybe you'll get a B.
Do not take this class as a hybrid. The online material was hard to understand and useless. I felt better when she would go over it in class. The test were hard and doing homework is an absolute must! She is very willing to help.
Rachel has a likeable personality, but her exams are outrageous. For example, you'll practice formulas to death in homework, but then in the exam, it's not even needed. She'll ask you to perform something totally different, but you can't tell because the problem is set up to fool you. So unless ur self abusive, don't take her class.
Please dont take her class !! for god sake !!! when we ask her questions in class, she gets really confused and never gives correct answer. she's confused while teaching lectures as well. Final and midterms are hard. I totally failed this class. I would not recommend her.
She is a very nice instructor. Her exams are easy. The final is multi choices, which I don't like. However, they are extremely easy questions. Take her class. If you read the textbook after class and do the homework, you can get A easily
She taught Math 105 for the first time, so it was easy, is logical with expaning examples for clarity. Good professor, she is recommended for a all in class course.
Don't take her online class. It's actually her and Martinez's class. You end up paying $65 for an online content subscription that you can never look at again after the class is over and are "strongly encouraged" to communicate with other students to get answers to your problems rather than be able to email her directly for guidance.
She is nice. I hated math and i suck at it too but this class was pretty fun and interesting. I was so intimidated to take it but it turned out better than expected. You just need to follow along!
I took her hybrid class. You'll have to pay $65 for beoga.net to learn in her class. Overall, she's an easy going teacher. She's pretty nice and she teaches the material very clearly. The only thing that was somewhat scary in her class was the final. The final was worth 50% of our total grade and for the online class was 60%.
Try not to take a hybrid class( the textbook is online)in math. Overall this teacher is very willing to help you when you need her. Only if you ask. Her teaching style is professional.
Nice lady, but needs to learn her math. Sticks to easy problems and can't really do the harder ones. Pretty easy though and helps when she can.
Rachel is very nice and gives real life examples to make learning more enjoyable. She Listens and answers your questions and she likes to see her students succeed and learn!
Mudge missed 2 classes...a lot since we barely meet. Since its a hybrid class, she doesn't bother to explain too many details--very confusing. She also doesnt make too much effort. The grading breakdown sucks--in class final is 57% of the total grade, and all online midterms/ quizzes 43%, Beoga is online only and $65.
rachel has missed 4 classes. wow! I've never had a teacher miss more than one class before, for very special circumstances. she obviously makes little effort in this class. there isnt much teaching to do to begin with. the students seem more motivated than her. irresponsible. isnt prepared when she does make it to class. avoid her. not recommended.
she doesn't have any idea what she teaches! so cant understand the material herself for sure! But the exams are easy and they are similar to the book's problem! if u really wanna learn dont take the class with her but if u wanna just get a good grade take this class! 7 quize, 2 midterm and a final! quizes are so easy and the midterms are moderate!
This is her first time teaching the class, and it really shows. She complained about having to do the homework (herself) and also became angry when students corrected her mistakes in class. Her quizzes are straight from the book and easy. She doesn't know her own class material so that makes it hard for you to know the class material.
Didn't know material, taught almost completely from book. Would lock door on Friday if late, even though was late a few times herself on Fridays. We were left standing outside for 15 min. on the rainiest day of winter, because she didn't email that she was canceling class. An 8 AM class! Really didn't know material.
She is not that difficult. I took the hybrid class, online and in class. Sometimes she does not know how to explain topics. A little helpful
This was a two part Statistics class which I highly recommend! Rachel is very relaxed, helpful, patient and super friendly. This class had about 18 people so you receive more 1 on 1 with her, which is very helpful! I never thought I was capable of taking this course, but she believes in her students and in return you start to realize you can do it!
I took her hybrid class which was once a week for two hours, the rest online. It's kind of a difficult subject to learn just from a online textbook, but she would very clearly explain everything when we met in class. I enjoyed having her as a teacher. Also, you can bomb every quiz and have all quiz grades replaced with the final test grade.
Professor Mudge was a reasonable and great teacher. Beoga is %40 of your grade and you are able to work with others. So make allies and use other sources. The Final is where all the struggle is at (%60). Study hard and memorize the format of the sample final and your golden.
Rachel was one of my first professors on campus, she's amazing. Not only did she consistently say she believed in her class, but she really pushes through some people. I had her for 2 quarters and she was very helpful. She may some flustered at some times, but she really can teach and I learned easily, with her. She doesn't make class boring!
Without her I would have never passed Statistics. She is the best professor I've ever had. She truly cares about students and will do anything to help you learn and pass her course. She's one of the few teachers who you can tell enjoys her job and has a passion for teaching. More teachers should be like Rachel.
Professor Mudge is extremely helpful and nice. You don't have to show up to class as long as you are able to follow the course material on Beoga. Do well on the online work and you are good. The final was decent. A little tricky but extremely similar to the practice final. Overall the class is easy
Rachel is a real good teacher. She's very helpful and cares about you passing her class. I have had her for 3 classes I've taken and you can see how passionate she is about teaching. I highly recommend taking her. The work load isn't to heavy. You also don't feel intimidated to ask for help because she encourages it alot, and is easy to talk to.
Rachel is dedicated to helping students learn and pass.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Wish I never took her. Canceled class 5+ times last quarter and for those of you who think it's a good thing, its not. You have to teach yourself everything. She's an amazing person with a lovely personality but she should change the setup of her course. Just my opinion
Her tests aren't hard at all (includes final)! As long as you show up for class when she is teaching (on Monday) and stay a little longer to the practice questions in her handouts to understand how to do those questions and you will pass with flying colors! Class on Mondays are mandatory. Wednesdays are optional. :)
Easy math 10. Just make sure to practice your sample final. You will be great!
I would have never passed statistics without Rachel's genuine care for the success of her students. She simplifies things as much as she can, but like any class you have to do your part. There is a midterm and weekly quizzes, all online, open book. She also gives out a sample final. Take her!
I like Rachel, though I would wish she would teach Math 10 more on campus rather than a hybrid or fully online class. . The rest of the week is used online. Pro tip; if you attend her hybrid on campus class, you get a packet which will help you pass this class, guaranteed. Online students are welcome to grab one in lecture only if you're on campus.
Taking her online hybrid though haven't showed up since day 1. Anyway stuff is pretty straight forward as long as you really study and understand the material. The final is the most important component of the class so prepare for it with the sample final, it will cover the same content. She's fast to reply to emails and looks like a lovely person
Make sure you study the sample final and keep up with online homework and you will do well. I'm bad with math and I did well in the class. Just make sure to put in the effort.
Mudge was a great lecturer. She made the problems very easy and clear to understand. Attendance isn't necessary unless you struggle to understand things through the online portion of it. I think it was worth going into class for the 2 hours. I didn't do the homework but took thorough notes and did fine with the quizzes and final. Amazing class!
Taking an online math class and meeting once a week was crucial for students to not miss a day. However, Mrs. Mudge is great in regards to getting back to any questions or concerns you may have. Although I highly recommend you make friends and start study groups the same week because there's so much material and slides to read. She's a sweet
Took this online stats class and started studying about 2 weeks before the final. I got an A by studying the homework and practice final which is very similar to actual final. They also provide notes for final which contains all of the formulas.
It is encouraged for classmates to help each other to understand the material but the professor always gave a response to students questions to make sure we understood the material. As a student you are given a practice midterm and practice final that makes studying easier. Statistic is hard but you will be helped along the way.
Online class for Math10 was great; homework was never graded, but helped as practice after taking notes on the lessons. There was a small weekly quiz due by Saturday night and the final exam was less than 40 question-all multiple choice. Mrs. Mudge co-taught with Mr. Martin. Would definitely recommend. Easy A
You had to teach yourself a lot for this course. The professors were helpful but a lot of the work was on you.
Took her hybrid class and it was overall fairly easy. Was basically like an online class bc coming to class was not mandatory but it helps to come so you understand better and if you have questions you can ask and talk to classmates. There were 5 quizzes, 1 lab project, a midterm and final! The final exam is worth 65% of your grade!!
I only went to the actual class the 1st week since I found out that all the curriculum is online. The homework is the most difficult part of the course. Everything else is easy in comparison it, including the final. Study for quizzes, do the project and labs, and study the sample final for the final and you should be able to get the A you desire.
Rachel is a great professor. I would recommend the hybrid class over the online class. The weekly problem sessions are a great resource. Math 10 will be very easy if you are good at breaking down word problems and following a flow chart, and you can get the concepts.
This subject is hard to grasp because most of the content is brand new. Rachel does a fantastic job at explaining these concepts and ensuring we are comfortable with the content after the lecture. She prepares you well for the final and is a compassionate woman. Attending the class each week is very helpful! Take her class!
Rachel is sweet. I only went the first day and finals day. All of the material is online through BEOGA. This is where you will take your weekly quizzes, midterm, & lab projects. HW is not required nor collected. Only real scary part is her final which is 60% of your grade. I had a 100 b4 it. STUDY the sample final religiously and you'll get your A.
Rachel teaches this class with Rick Martinez and they are awesome. Do all the homework and practice quizzes, ask questions and participate in the forums and you should do fine. The final is a huge part of the grade but it was not too difficult if you keep up.
She's one of the best math teachers ever. She tells you what to expect even on the finals. She gives you study guide that will help you immensely on the finals. You can bring her version of notes too on the finals. On online, you either get the right or wrong answer. There's no partials. You don't have to do the homework, but I recommend it.
I took the online class with one hour a week on campus, which was not mandatory to attend. Mrs. Rachel is very cool person and her classes, if present, were well described, but everyone has to study at home and she requires to come to class prepared already. As statistic itself is not an easy class, do not expect to be easy. Over all a good teacher
Homework is not mandatory, but make sure you do it because it is the only way to practice what you learn in the lectures and you'll be lost on the exams if you don't. The final was the only time I had to show up to campus and was multiple choice. They gave us a sample final with the answers to study. I enjoyed taking this class!
Passionate, caring, respectful and respected. Rachel teaches with enthusiasm and helpfulness, answering questions and working side by side. I was scared of stats, but she made me feel confident and prepared for tests, and provided study materials like study guides and practice tests that you go over as a class so everyone is on the same page.
The content is clear and easy to understand, definitely a doable course. Homework is not required, but there's either a quiz, midterm, or lab due on Saturday nights by 11 pm. The most difficult part of the course is the final, as it's 60% of your grade. However, there is a sample final that helps immensely, so study it!!
Easy A. Do the online quizzes by urself coz dats the only chance for u to practice.
Math does not come easy to me, but I enjoyed every second of this class. Attend the lectures, do the (optional) homework, and use every resource given to you. I never left class confused about a concept the lectures and example problems helped a LOT. Take her class, you will not regret it.
I was surprised at how much I liked taking an online class for math. Homework is optional, and the lectures are short and simple. Highly recommend for math requirement
She doesn't bombard you with unnecessary amounts of busy work. She answers every question asked. She provides you with the necessary material to learn the material and lets you get to it.
Expect everything to be dropped at the beginning of the quarter and Professor just disappears. Only graded on weekly quizes and final exam which is proctored. HW not mandatory.
If you want an easy A take this class. No meetings, only weekly quizzes that are fairly easy. 1 midterm and one final and 4-5 quizzes in between. No meetings so you basically have to learn everything yourself. I gave around one hour a week for this class and ended with an A so take her if you can.
AWFUL, if you are NOT an independent student/ learner do not take the course. Do not expect to be taught, you just watch videos based on examples that don't resemble the final exam which is what your whole grade is even worth. Sample final does not match what you studied, yes its open notes but if you are not a stats person guaranteed a struggle.
First, I would say this course is easy. It's got 9 4-6 question quizzes and10 question midterm, which counts 60% of the grade. But the bad part is the final is only 36 multiple choice questions, and it's 40% of your grade. and the final is far harder than the quizzes. So it is easy to get a B, but if you want easy A's take someone else.
I took intermediate algebra in the fall and it was pretty easy, so i'm confused as to why there are bad reviews lol. The professor is super sweet and caring. We used an online textbook which you do have to purchase. The weekly quizzes are rather simple, which you can re-take and the final was multiple choice.
Don't take this class if you want to learn anything. Just video lectures, no textbook, transcripts, or notes. No time-stamps, index, or even useful titles for the lectures, which jump around each topic, so it was hard to take notes & to figure out how to return to a specific topic for review. I found a free online course & used that to learn.
Worst class ever, she does not care about students. She does not help, takes long to respond and no structure in class. DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS.
Teacher was nice. But if you are not good at math, do not take this class. You watch a ton of videos. If you have questions, ask in the forum, but rely on students to answer first before the teachers. Sample final does not match the actual final. Also, did not get the results of the final to see what we got right and wrong.
Get ready to teach yourself. The class is shared with Martinez, they do not teach the class though. It is a series of videos you watch each week. Graded on books platform quizzes, a midterm and final. Final is open for a specified 2 hours, make sure you are free that day/time. Wish they would relase the final score when the window closes.
The class was shared with Martinez, you basically taught yourself. The website they used was awful and complicated, the videos provided werent very useful, and the final is only a two hour window on a specific day on canvas, not on the website they use all quarter. Nice teachers, class was easy as long as you can teach yourself.
I took statistic with Professor Rachel Mudge. The class met only on Mondays but that was really all we needed. There was online lectures that were clear. From day one she had use work with the people around us and that allowed for me to get close with two other students. The work is enough for you to understand the concept.
This class was a solid foundation for Statistics. The lecture videos were very helpful and the quizzes were fairly easy if you payed attention. Homework is NOT mandatory and there are sample quizzes that best prepare you for the actual quizzes that are graded. The final exam is the most challenging however, if you study hard you will be fine.
Self pace class .Don't be like me & do all the chapters 2 weeks before the final. Overall the Rick and Rachels videos are amazing and explain things pretty well.If you need help, ask for help, they or a fellow study will help you out. STUDY THE SAMPLE FINAL, its similar but different and a bit harder. Try to understand how and when 2 use a formula
Rachel is an awesome professor. I've struggled with stats but I understood it pretty well this time around, and she explains really clearly. If you're taking her in person, it's a flipped classroom, so you watch the lecture vids, and she clarifies anything you're confused about. The final is challenging, but as long as you study, you'll be set.
this professor is amazing!! i'm someone who usually struggles with math, but learning in this class is super easy because of an app provided. this app is easy to use and gives you the answers by plugging in numbers. you can tell that this professor wants you to learn and do your best. hw is also optional but is recommended
Great class she is a very kind person her class is basically 1 try quizzes on each chapter every week 1 midterm (all online untimed) and 1 final I found her final to be a bit hard because some questions were not on the sample final so make sure to take good notes on every chapter and practice the HW and sample quizzes but she is the best on stats
Rachel Mudge is a great professor. Expect her class to be lecture on a chapter per week videos with Rick. And untimed 1 try quiz every week and one midterm. Make sure to practice the HW and Sample quiz even though its optional to prepare for the quizzes and final because the final is a bit challenging and different than the sample final.
This class is easier with the app beoga easy quizzes homework is optional but help a lot for the final thats you need to practice hard and have formulas for each chapter and steps to solve it one thing is that the final is a little different than the sample and a little more challenging so practice the materials but the professor is great
Professor Mudge's class is pretty straightforward - weekly quizzes, a midterm, and a challenging final. The lecture videos with Rick are super helpful, and using Unstuck ai alongside the sample quizzes can make a big difference in prep. Manage your time well and you'll do great!
Quick with feedback and answering questions in the forum. Cares and wants everyone to succeed. Awesome class.
A great teacher.
prof mudge was great at explaining the math and clarifying if something wasn't clear. the structure of her class isn't for everyone since it's very independent and most work is done outside of class but if that's your style go for it. she makes it clear from day one what is needed to do well in class.
Her Math 10 class I thought was very straight forward the only thing I did not like is that the weekly quizzes were all 1 attempt so you need to make sure you study and ask questions before submitting the quiz the homeworks help you prepare for this class too but beware the final is basically the final boss and you need great notes and study hard!
This class was taught between two professors. Attendance was optional and a large chunk of your final grade is based on a weekly quiz, but watching the videos sets you up for those perfectly. Super easy class and lovely professors.
She's the best professor I have ever have so far! She makes the subject stats very easy and clear and her online lectures shows that she's super aware of people's learning styles. Weekly quizzes aren't proctored and she is quick with her emails.
Do not take her online class. The only structure and guidance in the online class is yourself. She doesn't teach and is not present. You have to engage in math and all you do in this class is answer a bunch of questions on a website then come to campus for the heavy loaded final which is nothing like the sample final online. Save yourself please.
