I LOVE Wright! She may not be the easiest teacher but she prepares you for the higher level classes. LOTS of in class examples. There is a ton of homeowrk but the homework questions are the test and quiz questions. She does not take the homework up but do it! She tells you what her office hours are every class period. She is a WONDERFUL teacher!!

She isn't a horrible teacher. She can be fun and social if you warm up to her. She doesn't allow electronics. period. She does teach the material well. Homework is given but not mandatory. Bottom line: She's strict, but she teaches the material well and appears to want to help you learn.

She is so helpful and clear about what she is expecting. For someone that isn't a math person, she is great. She explains everything in such detail and goes over multiple examples per class. Yes, you will have to try but its college so... TAKE HER!!!

She gives you a chance to work for the tests. If you visit her in the office, she really helps you and explains so well. She gives a lot of examples in class. Keeps up with time and attending class is very mandatory. I really like her and would definitely take her for any other class. She also makes you work for your grade, she grades fairly.

Awesome teacher for calc3. Her tests aren't too bad if you attend class and actually learn it. She doesn't curve tests, but she does make accommodations if the class did bad a specific section on the test. Must go to class because the examples in class are very detailed and are necessary to understand to do well on tests.

She's a really good teacher. I understood everything clearly and had help whenever I needed it. There are a lot of homework assignments but they are just like the quizzes so it's very beneficial.

College algebra in of itself is very difficult but if you dedicate yourself and use all your resources, you can definitely make it in this class. Attendance isn't mandatory but it is HIGHLY encouraged, if you miss a day, you'll fall behind a lesson or two and that's never good in algebra because it builds upon past lessons.

Dr. Wright is an amazing professor. She is so nice and cares about her students. She is one of the best math teachers I have ever had, if not the best. She goes over every chapter and every concept in depth and answers any questions students have. Dr. Wirght is also really good at reading her class and knowing when they seem confused.

Great math instructor. I normally struggle with the topic but professor Wright was able to easily explain rather complex concepts in a way that I understood.

If you've never taken a Calculus class before, maybe don't take 1914 and especially don't take Wright's class. She's an awesome teacher, but some days are hit or miss on the lecture side. Sometimes it's a good lecture/activity and sometimes it's really hard to follow along. She helps a bunch if you ask her questions and go out of your way to learn.

Doing every homework assignment will be your best friend, even though its only 5% of the grade, because all the test questions come from the homework. She takes off points for small mistakes but she does try to give you credit for thoroughly attempting the problem. Her lectures are very thorough, and not as fast paced as other professors are

The discussion is just another lecture. The homework assignments are pretty average and she gives suggested problems that you can do on your own for extra practice. Attendance is pretty much required because there are random clicker questions in class that are taken for a grade. Overall I felt that she was able to teach me what I needed to know.

Dr. Wright is the best math teacher I've ever had. She never asks you to do anything far off from what is taught in class. She is very well prepared for class and is very fair in grading. The key to getting a good grade is to practice the problems she gives you so you can recognize them, because they will show back up on tests.

Dr. Wright is a really good professor. Her lectures go through the topics in an understandable order and she listens to all the questions you have during class and makes sure you understand. She is very nice when talked to 1 on 1 too. Her office hours are useful. The grade is based on many things but there is a lot of homework every week.

Calc 2 is a beast, however Rachel Wright really tries to explain it. She was previously a tutor, so she knows how to explain problems differently, which a lot of math profs at OU don't know how to do! She is also super friendly and accommodating, you just have to try. Tests are very difficult I will say, go over the homework and in class examples!!

When lecturing she is sure to ask if anyone has questions. Is willing to help in office hours and during class. She grades giving partial credit. Gives examples and lets you work them out in groups, then works them out in class. Our class was set up in groups of 4. Have webwork each week along with homework.

Rachel Wright is a tough grader, but ultimately if you put the work in you will be successful in her course. I did extremely bad on the first two exams, studied extremely hard for the rest and went from a D to a high B. Just do the practice questions she post for exams and you will do well! Not an easy A, but truly a great professor who cares.

Don't believe the other reviews-I had Dr. Wright twice and she is truly a gem within a terrible department. Her lectures are the best part: clear, thorough, and easy to follow. She will work with you and answer your questions if you ask! Don't get me wrong, calculus is HARD no matter what, but compared to your other options, she is the best!

Dr. Wright does give hard homework and she does indeed have tough reviews with no answer sheet given. But if you are ever in need of help on anything, including the hw or the reviews, you can go to her during office hours and she is more than happy to help you. She really cares about you as a student and about the subject she teaches.

Fairness will be guaranteed by her. It's not easy, but if we put the effort into this class, the results are worth it in the end.

She helped me through Calc 2 when my previous professor did not. Taking notes in class is highly recommended, as well as going to office hours. She would work through the material with you, both in class with the examples and with the homework problems you were stuck on in office hours.

There are about one or two assignments per week, and you definitely should be working on them as she is teaching. Personally, I showed up to half of the classes and just taught myself the class using her resources, but when I did actually show up she seemed to teach well and in-depth. Wonky final grades though: an 88 can be an A but a 92 can be a B

Dr. Wright herself is amazing. She explains things in-depth and really well. Provides multiple examples (on notes and tophat). Despite Dr. Wright being an excellent professor, MATH 2924 was hard: barely passed and know many people who failed and dropped. GO TO CLASS & ACTIVELY LEARN DO THE HOMEWORKS ( A lot of homework & their long) ASK FOR HELP

Very nice and was available during most office hours to explain hw or past exam questions. This class is not an easy A or an easy pass at all, and expect 2-3 WebAssign hw worth over a hundred points every week. Study the week before for exams and don't fall behind expecting to catch up because there's too many hw questions to try to cram!

She is an amazing professor. She teaches the content very well, she has office hours to make sure you understand the content, and I would highly recommend her. Don't complain about how there's too much homework in her class, because you're the one who signed up for calculus. There will be a lot of homework not matter who your professor is.

Dr. Wright is a good professor. She excels at teaching the complicated concepts of calculus and offers many online resources along with her lectures. However, there are times when she focuses on topics too long. For Calc 1, the grading is the same across the board. Calculus is a hard course, but Dr. Wright attempts to make it as easy as possible.

Dr. Wright does a great job teaching the difficult subject of Calculus. The Homework Questions are harder than the tests, so you will be prepared when the tests come. Since the tests are weighted so heavily, you need to do well on them. Dr. Wright is easily the best teacher for this course at OU, I highly recommend her.

This class requires a lot of studying. The concepts are not difficult, but you have to use your brain. Dr. Wright, compared to other professors, is very good at teaching the concepts. I spent every week going to office hours to do homework and study for exams. Homework and study guides are much harder to help with making exams easier.

While this class is difficult, Professor Wright knows what she is doing. Even when there was a lengthy assignment or difficult work, I never felt like I didn't know how to do something. While she is a tough grader and doesn't give extra credit, she was always helpful, and I know she wanted us to succeed.

I love Dr. Wright, my math queen. At first, you may be intimidated by her because she gets pretty serious and expects a lot from you on the exams. However, you will realize that her teaching style is AMAZING and goes very in-depth. Her lectures/classes are like youtube videos IRL! Dr. Wright really cares for her students and wants them to succeed.

I have really enjoyed having Dr. Wright as a professor. She is really good at explaining how the math works and goes through many clear examples to ensure that we grasp concepts. I can tell that she really cares about her students succeeding in math. She does expect a lot of her students, but it is only for your own benefit.

Dr. Wright is probably one of the best math teachers/professors I have ever had. She has really good lectures, well made notes, and she cares a lot about her students. She does have high expectations and the tests are pretty difficult. Staying ahead on your homework will help you a lot for the tests. know your material, she's a tough grader.

While this course is hard, don't let the reviews fool you. She is very sweet/talks slowly. There are alot of opportunities to ask questions and never makes you feel bad for not getting it. I am taking her again for Calc II and am actually excited. If you show up and study hard (and take advantage of posted resources) you will most likely do well.

Dr. Wright is an amazing teacher. She holds office hours pretty regularly and is so helpful if you go. Her lectures are great. The class is very test heavy not just her. Tests end up being 70% of your grade including the finals but she does help sessions and on the day of the exams she does review all class. She wants her students to do good.

Dr. Wright is a tough teacher who cares a lot about her students. She's always very encouraging and supportive no matter the situation and is someone you can easily talk to. There are very few extra credit opportunities BUT she does allow one exam retake, which is pretty valuable for dead week. when compared to other professors, she's the best pick

Calc 2 is a hard class If you want an A or a B, you must work and study hard in Dr. Wright's class. Most of your grade will consist of 3 exams, with 1 retake opportunity at the end of the year. Her slides and lectures are very thorough, and she is always willing to discuss with/answer questions. The grade may be hard but not unreasonable.

Not a bad professor. She is very clear with what she teaches, and is very accessible outside class. The course was just hard for me, and there is homework every week.

She's a great person and teacher and is always willing to help you outside of class but she goes from start to finish every class and she doesn't give any days off she WILL find a sub.

Dr. Wright is a very good professor for the school compared to others. She does spend a lot of time going on about the topic and has never made a student feel stupid for asking questions. She does curve the Calc 2 exams. Compared to my Calc 1 professor -- I would take Wright again.

Dr. Wright's Calc 2 class is challenging, but engaging. Her thorough lectures and willingness to help make a difference. With diligent studying and utilizing resources like Unstuckstudy, the material can be mastered. The workload is high, but the opportunity to retake exams is valuable.

Dr. Wright teaches a challenging course. The difficulty of any type of calculus is a given when taking a class with her, but she showed up in every possible way for her students. It is clear that she cares about what she does, and she represents one of OU Math's best! She was always organized and taught calculus in a clear and concise manner to us!

Dr. Wright is a very understanding professor. Communicate effectively with what you don't understand, she will try and help you the best way she can. The course content can be challenging, but I found she attempts to teach it multiple different ways with many examples, making it easier for people to understand. (Took spring 2025)

Dr. Wright was amazing! Thorough explanations throughout lectures, but could sometimes tend to over explain. Exams were tough but review problems were given to help prepare. One exam retake at the end of the semester. Always welcoming and available in office hours. It's Calc 2 on a fast track, so it's going to be tough but she made it very doable!

Professor Wright is the best math professor you can take at OU. The class itself is incredibly difficult, but she does a great job explaining things and going over examples. If you want a good grade, you are going to have to put the effort and the hours in. I spent a lot of time studying, learning, and watching YouTube videos outside of class.

Great teacher, lectures are usually helpful, but exams are terribly hard. Thats mostly the math department's fault in my eyes but the reviews are not the greatest. Overall a good teacher but class is just hard.
