Dr. Permenter has style and has pink converse. Her class is just the right level of a challenge and her humor keeps it interesting. Maybe she'll let me dye her hair pink too sometime.

If we voted to have class cancelled it was cancelled. That rox! Enough said.

Dr. Permenter's Native American Literature course was one of the best classes I ever took.

Great teacher, very fun and laid-back. Easy A. She took us to Station Square, the Warhol Museum, and the Mattress Factory for a field trip and even paid for most of our Hard Rock Cafe dinner! We loved her!

Excellent prof. Very friendly and laid-back. Can be a little disorganized, but that does not take away from her good teaching style. More discussion-based classes than lecture-based.

Dr. Permenter is the best advisor on this campus, she is also the reason i am an English major. Her teaching style is awesome and her classes are never boring. She shows the true meaning of an English class, and helps students to appriciate it more. Definitly take her , she will change your life.

Permenter is a very interesting professor. She definitely has some different ideas but it's always fun. It seems hard at first, but you always have the oppurtunity to revise ALL of your papers, whiich is very very nice. Sometimes she is a little unorganized and unclear, but it doesn't ruin the class

The class is difficult at first, but she is an awesome prof and lets you revise your papers to get the grade you want. Enjoyable class.

The best and most helpful english teacher I have ever had. She grades fairly and gives you plenty of chances to revise, so it's easy to get a good grade. Take her, you will learn a lot from her.

I was terrified to take this class, but she made it interesting and easier to understand. Very flexible, easy to ask for help from her. True, a bit scatterbrained (esp toward the end of the sem), but it doesnt change the fact that she is awesome. I would def take her again!

Very fun professor, easy to get along with. Great sense of humor. The class is not hard at all, there's just guidlines to follow. Theres always an opt to fix ur papers after their handed in and she is very willing to help you when you visit her office. I highly recommend!

Dr. Permenter is by far one of the very best professors at this University. She really helps the student to develop good writing, rhetorical, and persuasive skills. She also gives a lot of freedom when deciding on a topic for a paper. She is very enthusiastic and dedicated.

She has to be the best english prof, no best prof, end of disscussion! Dr. Permenter is very helpful and will listen to you and not just judge you upon first glance. She is fair and honest. If you have a any problem, go see her in her office and she will be sure to help you out in some way.

Both classes with her were great, but lit was the best. I can honestly say I'm a smarter person after taking Am Lit from her. Very kind, but still tough. Smart lady.

I LOVE this lady! She really values student opinions and input. Very nice, very helpful and understanding. A little disorganized, but I would DEF take her again in a second!

Willing to make compromises if you really need them. Explains things to the best of her ability. Keeps upper level classes "upper level", i.e. doesn't dumb down for non-majors. However, she will help when you need it.

Very helpful, can talk her out of teaching for the day. Gives you chances to redo your papers. wants people to not only pass, but have good grades. interesting class

I love this class..I thought it was way too hard at first then we started having more fun. She's kinda cool.

Dr. Permenter was great last semester. It was too political for some students, but I liked that about it. She helped me rewrite my papers and gave anyone who goes in to her office a lot of her time. high recomendation

Fabulous! The whole semester had a theme and all work was connected to it. Very helpful. Is a clear lecturer but material isn't easiest. A good challenge and will support you.

am lit 1. she was interesting, funny, challenging, easy on the eyes, clearly a bob dylan fan. she makes class such that you can really explore things that interest you, which i had initially expected of college in general. no weird forced focus on her doctoral subject matter like other profs, unless she wrote her thesis on sweetness.

Really smart & helpful prof. Great material in Native American Literature -- we should all learn this stuff. Amazing book by Sherman Alexie.

Great prof. This class is my favorite and she's very fair and scary smart. Friendly, though and funny sometimes. Maybe too much tech stuff, but I'm getting used to submitting work electronically.

She is a great teacher for Native American Lit! The amount of reading was ridiculous, at least for me -having a job and other classes, but some people actually read all 7 books. I read 2 and passed the class. No lectures, you just talk about the books. Easy Class, just do all the work and you'll be fine.

She is an awesome teacher. You will not regret taking her for interpreting literature. I hate english but i did very well in her class! A+++++ Teacher!!

Absolutely wonderful! She's one of the best profs that I've ever had, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Seriously, she actually made early American lit INTERESTING, which, to me, is beyond impressive.

Dr.P is awesome!!! A bit flighty, but really amazing. Shakespeare was fantastic! Take her, she'll teach you a lot, especially if you're a major.

Love her and loved the course although I worked hard. One of my top three favorites. She's funny, smart, and cares about the students. I didn't think I liked English, but the books and movies are good and I read a lot. A+ prof.

She is very nice and as long as you do the work, she is willing to help you. My only complaint is that things seemed to pile up all at once and she would be kind of forgetful about things that she assigned. Overall pretty easy but be prepared to read a novel a week for the whole semester with weekly write ups.

I loved her Shakespeare class, and she made it so that everyone had something to contribute to the class discussion. She wasn't like the typical English teachers who think their interpretation is the ONLY interpretation. I only dropped the class because I got behind on the work. So stay on top of your assignments and you will do very well.

I had Dr. Permenter for my first year English class and I loved it! I always thought English wasn't enjoyable, but she really changed my mind with her class. She is very clear and loves to help her students. Just DON'T FALL BEHIND! All you have to do is stay on top of the work (not hard) and you will do fine. I will certainly be taking her again!

She's a bit tough, but she's willing to help you if you talk to her. Do the readings, don't rush the take-home exams, and go go to class and you'll have a fighting chance for an A.

Dr. Permenter is a great professor. The work is difficult, materaial may be difficult at times but when you leave class you'll understand everything. Exams require time and effort, weekly responses. Loved her for both classes, would def take her again!

I've taken Dr. Permenter for five classes because I loved her so much. She's an amazing professor, and more than willing to help. She'll challenge you to do your best, but she will give you the tools to get there. Tough, but fair. She's my favorite college professor by far. I strive to be as knowledgeable and helpful as she is. Permenter is difficult, I don't think anyone can deny that. However, she's always willing to help you with your work. She's incredibly easy talk to, just go to her office and mention the Beatles or Bob Dylan and you'll get on her good side! But in all seriousness, show that you care and she'll help you. Read and read again! This class was crazy!

She is such a nice woman and her class is fun. She is easy to talk to and is fairly open to different opinions. She is extremely helpful if you go to her and ask. However, her class is very difficult and requires a lot of time commitment. Even if this was my only class I would still have trouble keeping up. Read Read Read!!! And start exams early!!

Amazing prof. So nice and helpful, makes class fun even though it is hard. Truly a COLLEGE prof, doesn't baby you and is engaging. Tests in a variety of dif ways--papers, quizzes, projects. Always helpful and loves what she teaches.

Very thoughtful, caring, and fun woman. Doesn't baby her students, she treats them like adults. Also doesn't act like she is God, she tries to be on the student level and help everyone. Although the course work is hard and there is a lot, you will take SO much from this class. Took two classes with her and feel more enlightened. Strongly recommend!

This was my second time taking College Writing and I couldn't have been happier to take Dr. Permenter! She's easy-going, but at the same time she doesn't joke around and baby her students. Her demeanor is never typcial but she loves to help in any way she can. Much better than my first CW prof. Just keep up with the work and come to class. Easy A.

Inspirational, intelligent, and kind professor. Genuinely cares about her students and takes time to help them out. If I have to take a lit. class and one of hers is an option, I don't even consider anyone else. The only issue is that the workload can seem overwhelming at times, usually it works out though. Stay ahead on reading and you'll be fine.

Permenter is great - She's funny and she will teach you a lot! Take her if you want to become a better writer. Weekly Reader Responses - informal, easy 10 points! Card Quizzes that only effect your grade if you bomb a ton of them. She lets you revise a lot of the papers (only 3-4). No exams, no grammar review. Short papers and reading. Flexible.

She is a wonderful woman. She's got a good mind that's funky and smart at the same time. Wow. I worked harder than I wanted to because I wanted to meet her expectations of me. I now LOVE Hamlet. She was really fair to all -- Just be sure to read before you come to class!!!!

I love Dr. Permenter. She made this class so entertaining (intelligently goofy). However, it was not any easy class. A lot of writing and reading (7-8 hours) every week. She does give movies to watch as you read along in the Norton so that students understand Shakespeare. You have to try in order to like this class, otherwise, you'll hate it.

She literally helped me as much as she could. It didn't matter if it was for school or personal reasons. Never be afraid to talk to her bc she is very understanding and helpful.

Excellent professor and a really cool lady. The readings are usually pretty interesting. A lot of writing but you can revise. You can write on a topic and disagree with her ideas completely and she'll still grade you totally fairly. I was surprised! Be sure to go to the conferences in her office.

Dr. Permenter is an amazing professor and woman in general. I hated English my whole high school career and once I took her class I actually started to love it. She's always there to help with any questions or problems you have. She only wants to see you succeed and do well. I would take her as my professor again in a heart beat. Awesome woman!!

Permenter is a Goddess bound in human flesh. She is a tough professor, but the content is amazing and she makes the class interesting. Although she is difficult I would recommend taking her classes because you will learn something, and you'll never forget.

Dr. Permenter was one of my favorite professors while at SRU! I took her for this course spring 2016 and I wish I had taken her a lot more before that! She does grade tough but she cared a lot about me to where I even went on the trip to Italy with her and Dr. O Connor! GO if you can! Also this course was great and I highly recommend it! Loved her!

She is very smart, a good teacher, and really cares about her students. However, she is VERY difficult. You will not do well if you don't do all the readings. Read for class and attend class! Also, meet with her in her office whenever possible. She does choose favorites based on how hard you try, so put in the effort! Good professor overall.

Though she made us work a great deal, she is an amazing professor and I really respect her. She is willing to help you revise your papers, and gives great lectures. I would recommend taking her classes.

Dr. Permenter is my favorite professor at Slip. She's very sweet and willing to help. Her class requires deep thinking, but if you put in work you'll be fine. Anytime you need help don't hesitate to e-mail or visit her office hours.

There is a lot of homework. She expects you to read completely on your own and then you discuss your reading in class. She is very passionate about her topics and she is funny which makes it interesting. She also makes you think critically and challenge yourself. Overall good prof, I like her a lot. Would take again.

Don't be intimidated by her syllabus. The setup of the syllabus makes it look miserable but it was not bad and was very rewarding. Dr. Permenter is SO great. Clearly passionate about her work and just wants to see students succeed. She's unbelievably intelligent and I learned so much from her. I would definitely recommend her classes.

Permenter is pretty cool.. passionate about what she does. LOTS of reading to do. Can easily get distracted and talk about something irrelevant for a while. She is cool but can be picky and sometimes assignments are unclear.

So, Dr. Permenter was one of the hardest professors I have ever had. At the same time I learned so much! She pushed me so hard, and I feel like I am such a better writer now. She is so tough but it is so worth it. Her class is inspiring to say the least. She is a wonderful woman who wants nothing but the best for her students.

Alot of reading in this course, but Permenter is one of my favorite professors by far. Hilarious, tries connecting with the students, and is overall a good person. I have talked to her in office hours before, and I really enjoyed the class overall. It made me think creatively, and her assignments are thought provoking. take her!

Shes tough grader, and you read book upon book and article upon article. Get ready to read nonstop and print readings. She gives so much work, but willing to work out your problems and give feedback. I lost sleep for this class, exams and tests are daily and numerous. It took me 8 hours to do one of her exams, but shes amazing and teaches well.

Permenter is excellent. I took her a few times. Shes interesting. In her lectures, take notes on all remarks she makes regarding the content, write that in your papers, and you'll do well. She assigns a lot of papers but wants you to be free with your writing. There is lots of reading, its tough to keep up. Shes likable, and has a great style!

Dr. Permenter is everything a professor should be. She is approachable, funny, passionate, and completely there for her students. I have taken three of her classes, and she is the prof I will miss more than the university itself. You will read. You might even cry. But you will learn so much in her classes beyond t he realm of words on a page.
