go to reviews and u'll pass the tests, very knowledgable about the subject, 3 exams (drop lowest) and a final, 2 papers easy, very organize, buy study packet (helpful)
Remember your Jr. High teacher? You will now! She's a good instructor, but treats you like you're 13. Very helpful to those who show up and participates. Get's worked up if the class doesn't do well or there is a distraction.
Very HElpful
A smart and entertaining lecturer. She does tend to treat students like children... but that's part of her schtick.
pretty easy if you go to class, get course pack, and do practice tests in the study guide. Didn;t think econ could get this stress free. She's pretty cool too. For a teacher.
knows her stuff, knowledgable and thorough
really tries to help you out, but you have to put in a good effort too. lectures are fairly clear, and tests are average dificulty.
Great teacher!!!! Explains very well!
Not really prof. but she's cool if you want a C take her but just to let know need to put some work on your studies
Econ majors, few things to say, "study, work hard, put in the effort" you will pass. The worst part is the group project. 3-4 homework & 5 reports, 1 midterm and final. I think I've grown white hairs just taking her class.
She is very nice and helpful if you go to office. Never lets class out early. Grades easy on papers. Exams are pretty challenging. But overall, an excellent teacher. I highly recommend this professor for macroeconomics
Helpful teacher. Can't make up her mind with grading - will grade you one way and then 5 minutes later will change her mind. Tests are easy and verbatim if you memorize. Needs a little work teaching analysis and how to use Eviews.
USeless class
nice lady, actually wants her students to learn. but tests are kinda difficult. when ever i thought i did well on a test, i would do bad :( attendance is very helpful. few take home quizzes and a couple pop quizzes. ok teacher,i gotta c, but if you very study hard or cheat, it's possible to do bett
Most students are lazy, unattentive, and are looking for everyone and anyone to blame but themselves. If you read the chapter, follow along with the course outline, do the homeworks, and pay attention in class, things that you are expected to do as a student anyways, then you will do well.
No real textbook. Toward the end she expects you to understand basic Econometrics, when in ECON 440 class, about 8 weeks are spent on the subject compared to her 2 hours of lecture...We asked for typed handouts, she said she didn't have time for that, after all, we are just measly students. Awful.
her class is not too bad. 4 test, 6 take home quizes, and no hw. she skips all the difficult stuff in the book and goes over the easy things. however, her test might be a bit challenging, but overall she's okay. i got a B in the class without really trying too hard
very unclear and hard to understand.. she talks to fast and doesn't know what she is talking about half the time..her quizes are worth nothing and her test always have errors in them.. i have no clue how she is the head of the department...
She is very helpful and has patience to answer every question to the best of her ability. She is very knowledgable and puts a lot of effort and energy into her lectures.
SHE IS ONE TOUGH COOKIE. THE TOPIC IS CONFUSING WITH HER SPEEDING THROUGH EVERYTHING, SHE GETS LOST IN HER OWN EXPLANATION. TESTS ARE A PAIN. YOU'LL BE SPENDING ALL YOUR TIME WITH HW, PAPERS AND READING AND STILL WONT GET ANYTHING BETTER THAN A C. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GOOD GRADE, DONT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!
She is pretty serious most of the time. She isn't hard but isn't easy. She is very fair. If you put effort into the class you should do well. I got by with skimming the book and going over the notes carefully and got an A.

Great teacher. She is very interested in what she is teaching. She gives practice quizes (or homework sheets) that look very similar to her tests. Take the notes she writes on the board and youll be fine.
GOOD CLASS TO TAKE IF YOU HAVE TIME TO GO OVER THE MATERIAL. SHE MAY HAVE SOME FORM OF ADD BECAUSE SHE'S ALWAYS JUMPING FROM ONE SUBJECT TO ANOTHER WHICH CONFUSES THE STUDENTS. TESTS ARE ALL OFF HER NOTES, AND HWK.
She's a very nice lady, but she jumps around way to much. She also forgets where she left off from the previous lecture.
She's confusing. She don't know what's she talking about. Not clear about the topic. No curve on grading.
Easy class. She tells you whats gonna be on the test. Go to class and take notes. 3 exams (drops 1) and Final. HW is easy. Study from HER notes and the MC questions off the study guide.
Very boring lectures. Tests consist of essay questions. Make sure to take notes on what she says are going to be on the test and do the homeworks. Most of the questions are from examples done in class and from the homeworks. Homeworks aren't worth much (2pts each), but make sure you get the answers to them. There's no extra credit and no curve. A
She is actually a very nice teacher. She encourage us to learn the class materials. Students who follow her instructions got good grades. I got an "A+" in her class.
Easy class. Go to class, take notes and do your homework. She goes over the homework and give you pointers as to what's gonna be on the tests. Very enthusiastic about econ, which makes it a lot more interesting to be in her class. Teaches very slow though.
Prof B's class is somewhat easy. I say that only because she is VERY disorganized. Though she is nice and tries to help, she does a poor job clarifying the subject. She habitually can not decide she wants from her students or at times even agree with her own statement. Barely learned much in this class. Would not recommend her, avoid if possible.
Her organizational skills are not that good...but overall she does try very hard to be helpful. Whatever handouts she gives you, READ them very carefully. Try very hard to move along w/ her...at her pace...or things will start to be confusing (b/c she's "iffy" on lots of things).
This class was very involved. You have to dedicate a lot of time for this class. She has a lot of different reports, projects, and homeworks going on at the same time. Follow her lectures and keep asking her questions. She's not very organized, but always willing to help at her office, which does help a lot. Choose a good group too!
This teacher really cares! Read the study guide, do the exercises and you'll be cash money in that class. She has a weird pace at times but she is really cool and just wants to get the student to where they need to be. Fair grader and she let's you know how you're doing in class.
Honors course...Good professor, likes to jump around in different tangents but she is passionate about economics and wants to see her students do good. would recommend
If you want to learn Economics and is willing to put time and effort into getting a good grade then take her. I learned a lot from just hands-on-experience type projects and reports. She's a scatterbrain and a bit unorganized, but very helpful. I would take another class with her.
ok so what if she keeps you in class until the very last second...her lectures are awesome and you learn so much off of just going to class. If youre looking to actually learn a subject then take class with her. GREAT TEACHER!!!
She is one of the nicest and generous teachers you'll meet. The class consists of lectures, exams and one 3-4 page paper. It is a very easy class. If you study a reasonable amount, you should get at least a B. Take good notes and use the study guide. I definitely recommend her and I hope she's teaching the next Econ class I need to take.
Attendance is not mandetory but you will miss alote if you dont attend. Loved her class you learn alot and she is note that hard. Best Econ Professor ive had!!!
Very helpful if you can keep mind on lectures :)
Be prepared to work for this class. I'm a straight A student and hard time with this course. The material itself is pretty easy, however, Dr. B's exams are hard. Your grade is dependent on 3 exams (including the final) and a paper usually dealing with the FED. She'll grade your paper as if you're presenting it for a PhD dissertation. good luck.
definitely take her! Show up to class and take notes and you'll pass. she writes everything you need to know on the board and gives you a study guide for every exam. 3 exams ( your lowest is dropped), 1 paper , and the final. Shes really sweet and helpful. keeps you til the last second of class. easy b
If you have any intention to continue to graduate school, I would recommend taking Dr. B. She is a very helpful and knowledgable professor. She is not easy, but you will learn a great deal.
Terrible. OCD, OCPD, AR type. So compulsively concerned w/ fairness she can be arbitrary and unfair. Frequently confuses herself on her own grading, and can't understand anything not done her way, even if it is right. Ask to see your test and she thinks you are going to challenge her. Parnoid; often assumes bad things about students. Avoid.
Dr. B's the best 340 teacher around, highly recommended. 3 homework assignments, 1 midterm, 1 cumulative final & 1 big group project. Put a little effort into this class, and a good grade will be your reward. Be sure to pic the best group members possible. The group project is a huge chunk of the grade and will require quite a bit of time to do.
I agree with the previous comments that she is scatterbrained, paranoid, etc. Her insistence on doing things a certain way (her way) was disruptive to ECON majors because other professors take exception to her methodology. I frequently ran into problems in subsequent semesters because of this. I blame the dept for the lack of accountability.
Pretty fair teacher. If you attend class and take notes you will pass. Powerpoint is helpful together with the hw. Pretty simple for an econ class if you do your part to study. Don't really need the book (it's all on powerpoint) but you need myeconlab. She drops the lowest of your 3 midterms.
Go to class and pay attention and you will pass. She makes it as simple as possible and truly wants you to pass. I say only difficult part was the essay. But even then she helps you out ALOT on what is needed. 3 tests (drops lowest) and a final, HW are easy points!
Take this class!! The grade consists of 5 things which each equals 20% of your grade. If you attend lecture everyday you will get at least a B. She gives out information on what is needed for the exam. I say the hardest part of this class is the essay part. Hw is an easy 20%. 3 mid terms and the lowest is dropped. You will learn a lot in this class
Pretty Good. I could tell she cares becase she felt sad when no one participated. She dropped the lowest test. Don't sign up for the WSJ "Amazing deal" she offers you - It's a scam... Otherwise, not bad.
This teacher really cares about what shes teaching, its unfortunate that it is so boring. There are 3 tests and she drops the lowest score. there is also one paper but she basically does the entire thing for you. she gives you and outine of the whole paper and al you really have to do is fill in the blanks. i never showed up or studied and got a C
Make sure you attend class or get notes because she covers news topics you need to know for exams. Exams are somewhat tough (you can see the rest of the class' scores avg C) but she drops the lowest of 3 exams. Cares about teaching and wants you to learn so ASK QUESTIONS! I never even opened the book but you need myeconlab for HW.
Read the textbook and it will only enhance your knowledge on the subject. Attend lecture and you will pass with at least a B. She covers most of the material for her 3 midterms in class. Final is cumulative and also assigns a term paper. She was always willing to help. Her class can be a bit boring, but if you take notes you should do fine.
This was a pretty simple class. Just attend every lecture and take good notes. Her exams are based on lecture and homework questions. There's a paper that you shouldn't underestimate, so start early. I got an A and would def recommend this professor to anyone. I learned a lot of good material I was never interested in before.
She is very determine to teach you the material. HW is online. Three midterms, but she removes lowest midterm at the end. There is a paper and a final. She gives you most of the material to do the paper. You do not have to attend class, but I recommend you go. There is a lot of stuff you have to remember. Overall, she is a good teacher.
she's very strict, not leniant at all. dont plan on texting showing up late ever or eating in class. she won't tolerate it.overall i learned alot and liked her teacing method but i wish she was chill and not such a hard grader and more easy going. i felt like i was in boot camp in her class.
She speaks very fast, must keep up!Writes everywhere on the board and moves quickly. may go off subject sometimes. Is not very clear about the news article term papers. You can't just go in her office and ask her to look over it, she will just grade it on the spot. ok professor, just wish she was clearer. does give tips on what will be on the exam
she is a very good professor. i learned alot. she is just very very strict about everything. would have enjoyed her class a little more if she was more laid back. there was so much information for each exam that you get overwhelmed and dont know what to study. just study hard and attend class because class is pretty interesting.
she is a very good professor. i learned alot. would have enjoyed her class a little more if she was more laid back. there was so much information for each exam that you get overwhelmed and dont know what to study. just study hard and attend class because class is pretty interesting.
Did NOT enjoy coming to this class. Talks a lot, expects you to kno material B4 class but does not even discuss it. Test are extremely difficult and have nothing to do w lectures. Tough grader. Don't take class in AM, super boring. Don't need book, just buy online econlab. If you can't escape her, make friends in class, it will help in studying.
Hard class, expects more than taught. Doesnt give any practice or study guide questions. Two easy papers. Went into the final with a solid grade and ended up getting a D. I emailed her asking what my final grades on the paper and final were so I could see how far away from passing I was and never bothered to email me back
Hard to understand, not a good professor. Difficult to keep up with lectures and expects you to know things that aren't taught. Things are dropped out of nowhere it seems like and even if you do pay attention in class, its still doesn't help. I highly suggest dropping this class and trying something else, because you will not enjoy coming at all.
such a mess. for a woman who's been teaching for 26 years i thought she would have her stuff together but nah she dont
I wouldn't recommend this professor even though she's had much teaching experience. Her instructions are pretty vague and she expects you to keep up with a lot of information that you can't find in the book. She's disorganized and makes some confusing examples in class. She expects you to know way to much information for her exams. DON'T DO IT.
Don't waste money on a paper book, just buy the online code/book since you need it for HW anyways. Lectures are hard to follow, exams are pretty tough. Lot of material to cover, but many times it's different than the exam questions. Needed the class as lower-div major class, so I would recommend finding another professor!
Very straight forward class. Nearly everything of what is on exams is explained during class and is also available on the study guide that she provides. This class might not be an easy A, but if you show up and pay attention you should have no problem passing. There's 3 exams( drops lowest), two 2-page papers, and a final.
I had professor Bhattacharya for ECON202 and I must say she was a way better professor than the professor I had for ECON201. She knows what she is talking about and a large portion of her exams consist of examples she brings up in class. Make sure you attend every lecture - some exam questions are literally a random point she brings up in class.
She's a great professor who really knows her stuff and provides multiple examples in class. There are 3 exams (drops lowest) , 1 final, 2 short papers that she goes through with you. Genuinely cares and makes herself available through text, email and extra office hours and provides study guides. If ECON is hard for you go to office hours! Helpful!
GO TO CLASS. She teaches every thing that you need to know! I like how it was easy to follow her examples and her study guides were very helpful. The only thing is that there is a lot of information to remember. But as long as you understand the concepts you'll be fine! There are 2 papers but she grades them easy. The homework has like 60 q's.
She knows the material well and teaches it well but her lectures tend to drag on and she gets upset when students don't raise their hand or participate. 2-3 short easy papers and she extends all of the deadlines and offers extra credit for turning them in on time. Study guides help when you miss class. Overall a good choice for Econ202!
She's very knowledgeable in the subject. She cares a lot about her students and actually wants you to learn. 3 tests (drops lowest), HW, 2 short papers, and a final. No extra credit. Attendance not mandatory but recommended. Textbook not needed. Macro was honestly harder for me than micro but she did a great job at teaching the topic.
Don't take this teacher, she will spend an entire class on one subject and then not even put it on the exam. 3 exams, drops lowest one, she has to so students will actually pass, 1 paper that is graded extremely hard and no feedback given, final exam. No extra credit. Doesn't care. Is happy with average on tests being around 65%.
She is a great choice for Econ 202. She is very clear on what is on exams, gives study guides, and all the information is on the power points that she teaches off of. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK. she knows this subject very well and is super sweet and helpful in office hours. She drops lowest exam score as well. Homework is a must to help grade
I love this professor. Although I got a C, I started putting effort in for just the last test and she helped me so much. She drops the lowest grade, the homework gives you 4 attempts and the answer after each guess. Her first paper must be written exactly as instructions are on the handout, if not youll get a low grade. She is extremely helpful.
she is a super hard working professor who you can tell really puts in the time to make her lectures interesting and relevant. you have to pay attention to do well so just put in your best and you will do fine.
If you do not want to pass Econ 202, take this professor. Dragged out lectures. Hard to understand. Zero feedback given on papers. spends entire class periods on subjects that she does not put on test. There are 3 exams and she drops the lowest in an effort to give you a glimmer of hope to pass. She's very knowledgable but does not deliver it well.
She is very passionate about the material so classes are not boring. Show up to class and you're guaranteed at least a B on the exams without studying. She explains everything in detail so there are no surprises on the exam. Offers some extra credit for participation. PLEASE TAKE HER
There's two papers, three exams and a final. The papers are really straightforward and the tests come straight from the study guides she gives you. The homework is on mylab so you have to buy the code and if you participate in class she'll round your grade up at the end. Responds to emails super fast and always there to help if you have questions
Professor knows what she is talking about and is thorough with the lectures. She gives fast responses to emails and is eager to explain any confusion. 4 exams, 2 papers that are straightforward. Study guides are given for each with details that help with exams. Pay attention during lectures. Work for it and it's an easy A
Professor Bhattacharya is honestly one of the best econ professors I've had. She explains the materials in detail. I learned a lot in her class. She gives a review sheet for midterms and finals which are straight to the point. Attend her classes and listen to her lectures and you will surely pass her class.
She was one of the best professors I've taken at CSUF. Her lectures reflect what is on the tests. She explains things were well and answers all questions. She does not go too fast either. You can tell she cares. Your grade is a few online homeworks, 4 open book exams, and 2 papers. She gives you study guides too. Take her!!
Professor Bhattacharya is an amazing professor. She was probably my favorite professor I have taken at CSUF. She is extremely sweet and will go out of her way to help you understand the material. The course itself is composed of 3 midterms, 1 final, 2 papers, and weekly hw assignments. Be sure to use her study guides because they are very helpful.
Doesn't input anything into the grading system until 2 weeks before the class ends, so you won't have a clue as to what your grade is. You need to do well on the exams to pass. I studied and attended lectures and still didn't do super well.A very tough grader and nitpicks everything that isn't up to what she believes is right
Professor Bhattacharya is such a sweet professor. She truly cares and wants all students to pass. Econ is not my favorite subject but she made the lectures very easy and entertaining. She gives out study guides that tells you the exact concepts that are going to be on the exam. She has review days and is very accommodating to students. Take her!
Professor Bhattacharya as a person is absolutely wonderful and lovely. However, her class genuinely make me want to kill myself /srs. I cannot for the life memorize anything in this class and it's taken a genuine toll on my mental health.
There are too many lectures that are hard to follow because they are insanely boring. I also needed a good grade on a paper so I worked hard on it compared to my first one which wasn't very good, ended up giving me a C on something I genuinely think should have gotten an A when on my first paper that wasn't as good I almost got an A.
She's a tough grader. She's very strict with students meeting deadlines, yet she herself doesn't meet the grading schedule she promises. When you reach out for questions, her replies sound like you're bothering her. She says attendance is mandatory but only took roll like twice randomly. Final is cumulative.
If you attend class and take notes, the exams should make sense. I also attended office hours and that helped a lot. We have two papers, four exams, and homework for every chapter. However, she drops the lowest exams score. The homework is a little harder than exams but class notes will help you the most on exams.
