Very GOOD!

Great prof. He conducts a great learning atmosphere and encourages informative debates in his lectures. A must-have professor for Poli. Sci. students.
What a nice person and very competent teacher! I'd take him for more poli sci courses with him if he wasn't at Glendon. Persaud rules!
Persaud is by far the most compassionate and considerate professors I have ever had. It is very rare that one come across such an individual who takes the time to know everyones names. He truly rocks. He is amazing! I will miss him!
Probably the most highly respected professor in the entire school. Cares more for students than most other professors. Internationally known. He's one of the profs that I will remember after Im done with this crap school.
i want to kiss him you guys.. so cute! not to mention damn well read, wish i kould pick his brain!
Persaud is not as he appears to be. He's too pretentious and judgemental. He wears the same things, reads from textbooks, has no original ideas, marks only the first page of your essays, wastes class time discussing irrelevent topics e.g personal things.
very lazy; no way to reach him outside class hours; class goes 3 hours straight without break; unprepared --> sometimes end the class just an hour; very boring
It seems the only classes where any value-add was during the guest lectures. Have a lot of respect for the professor, but do not feel this course was in the professor's area of expertise.
Only gave 2 lectures(during which he read newspapers)& the other times, guest speakers.Had him for another class,& he uses same lines over"I'm not much4 kissing A_""if having little info is dangerous show me the man who has so much info2B o

I've had him twice and he is by far the best prof. He cares about his students more than any prof ever. Very very smart, knows what he is talking about and knows a lot of people. Lots of guest speakers. I will take all the classes with him that I can!!!
Funny guy. He pretends to be very passionate about politics, and makes himself out to be a very noble guy. For the most part, he's an ok prof. VERY easy marker. Get an A in his course, but beware: lot's of boredom. You can't tune out bc he'll pick on u.
Quite objective, has integrity. Two very important qualities. Really cares about the academic careers of his students.
Last 2 lectures were the most interesting...good prof though. Really cares about the well being of students and their academic careers, will help you with anything you need related to his course or academics.
I'm a student from Brock where he is a "guest professor" I guess you could say. I very much enjoy his class and he gives a lot of time for discussion, which I feel is a very valuable part of class. I take a lot from his classes, but I find it weird how much he uses other people's material (books).
he's approachable, he's organized but not rigid in teaching his lectures
He cares very much about his students and their future academic careers. He prepped us well for the exam, very fair marker. Recommend him highly!!
he's friendly and helpful. his lectures don't teach you the meat of the course since he expects you to read before class. but his lectures help you understand better, helps complement the readings and helps you understand the material in a deeper context. he cares about students and wants everyone to do well
Very approachable prof though he seems to talk about himself ALOT..and i find that his lectures lack in structure.Although he is a fair marker he needs to just cut to the chase with his lectures.
Great
All he ever talks about is how he had the pleasure of meeting Mr. ____ and how he had the honour of talking to Mrs. ____. All I learned from his class was that he has 3 daughters, his car broke down & a mechanic tried to con him, his daughter got sick & then got better, and that he lives in Scarborough!
I think Prof. Peraud is a great teacher. Interesting, clear lectures. He told us all the questions that would be on the midterm beforehand. He is passionate about the subject he is teaching and makes an effort to get to know his students.
Until Prof.Persaud asked us for an early assesment on his style of professing, i thought his lectures were unclear and lacked in structure. But since reading our asssments it seems like hes has really improved and i am highly appreciative of his efforts to accomodate and understand the needs of his students. If ur reading this Sir THANK U :)
This is the second course that I have had the pleausure of taking with Prof Persaud, and have to come to respect him a great deal. Having done a hectic commute from Toronto to St. Catherines and still teach while he was having health difficulties and always being there for students is something I will never forget. Thanks for a great year, Prof!
I think that he shows a lot of care for students. He can understand the position we're in. Makes course easier to understand by having more of a laid back mode to teaching. Isn't arrogant like most professors, and puts trust to his students. Always wants to know how to make class even better through remarks from students.
approachable and understanding, cares alot about students
2nd class with him and although he seem like a nice guy I dont understand how he can get away with lecturing on nothing for 2 hrs. its not that I haven't given him a chance either. the last class I had with him he lectured on the exact same topics. I think he needs to learn how to prepare a lesson instead of reading out of his many books all class.
friendly with everyone, treats students like equals, wants everyone to do well and is there to help you. doesn't have a "us professors and you students" mentality that lots of professors do
His lectures were quite irrelevant to the actual exam since he taught us vey little about theoretical polsci. But he continuously challenged us to think about politics and I have a new awareness about this previously uninteresting field. He is always willing and helpful. Seems to be a bit of an iconoclast.
really interesting prof
One of the magnificent profs I've ever had in my entire academic life, he is very inspired by politics and encourages students to go beyond the "just theory" aspect of the course materials. He is very responsible and supportive towards students' academic growth and integrity.
This man absolutely sucks, he does not know what he is doing, you are as good as lost once you enter his course, he is lazy
hELPFUL
The professor rarely holds a lecture despite the course being an introductory course in US government. He cancels classes often and makes excuses. Students have even admitted that he has said "no matter what grade you get I will bump it up to an A". He does not deserve tenure at York. Students who are serious about academia should stay away.

Hes an amazing professor for CANADIAN POLITICS specifically the Constitution, however he really doesnt know much about US Politics. The lectures consisted of his stories about a student who didnt get good grades but got into law school through his recommendation. He really does care for his students, but I didnt feel like I got anything from the course
he is always friendly, he doesn't spend much time teaching the course material or going into indepth analysis, he briefly outlines the textbook and tends to go off on news headlines, his classes don't help you gain much new knowledge or analytical skills - but he's friendly and he tries to help students out
Was a cool guy but he didn't teach me much. He never lectured about the readings. You really have to hold your own in this class. Not for students without a strong background in political science
he cares about students: he takes the time to remember people's names and enjoys engaging with students; but his courses don't really challenge you nor demand a concrete understanding
This professor is great!
Persaud's lecture style is quite boring. He pratically reads from the book. He really does not spend enough time preparing letures and would much rather speak about his life and his experiences and 'all of the people he has helped'. You really have to help yourself in this class. If possible try to get it with Prof. Bergeron! Stay clear of persaud!
Dr. Persaud is very fair and willing to help clarify any point provided he notices you trying to pay attention during his lectures (and he does notice who does and does not!). If you pop for constitutional law, he's your guy. If all you want is 3 credits, you're missing a great opportunity (not to mention a well penned recomendation letter)
Terrible. I have him for a Masters level course, and I have learned nothing from him. He is unclear and directionless. He is extremely boring and hard to follow. The reading list is disorganized. UNPROFESSIONAL. Nothing but a self congratulatory name dropper.
He is lovely but he doesnt possess the skills to teach, and that's the main thing the university is for.You will have a good time in class but you should triple your efforts to learn the material yourself because this professor won't teach you much.He rarely sticks to the actual lecture,80% of the time talks about something else outside lecture.
Persaud is a politician that lost his track and ended up in University instead of city Hall! All he cares about is to give him a good evaluation at the end of the year..approach him let him remenber your name (If you're a girl chances are higher that he will) and he will give you a good grade..long story short: play his politics and you'll be fine!
Best Professor at York. Really cares about his students.
This is one of the worst profs. I have ever had in a political science class in my 3rd year University. He does not know how to teach, and sits back and attempts to listen to students who present the lectures rather than do them HIMSELF!
He is a true mentor and will do everything in his power to help students.
had him for 2 classes. amazing guy, but dont take his class if you expect to be spoon fed info. u have to think for yourself. instructions are vague, readings are general. he's extremely knowledgeable but name drops and goes on tangents. obsessed with constitutional law/judiciary. take his courses!
Excellent professor, very understanding and professional at the same time. Enjoyed learning and going to his class
unfortunately..... my classmate`s comments here are true. Persaud is a politician that lost his track and ended up in University instead of city Hall! All he cares about is to give him a good evaluation at the end of the year..approach him let him remenber your name (If you're a girl chances are higher that he will) and he will give you a good grad
I went into this class very excited because political science is my major and I am extremely interested in American Politics but I have not been able to enjoy this class. Persaud rarely uses the textbook and instead talks about the weeks news headlines. The class is over half way done and I still have not received any mark in the class and I feel l
He has failed to give back the exam we wrote in november. I have still not recieved any mark for this class and my motivation to particiapte has dried up. He does not teach and simply reminds us of important people he has met. Do not take classes with this prof if you want to learn.
A non-tenured Prof who earns over 100k without contributing any effort into his lectures and grading- very uninspiring
I cant stress enough how much I do not recommend Persaud. He is an intelligent man, but HORRIBLE teacher. I feel like I wasted so much money by taking his classes. He never gives assignments back in a timely fashion, never answers e-mails, doesn't even lecture! He's lazy and unprofessional.
This professor was the most inspiring and most motivating professor I have ever had. He is very knowledgeable and provides his students with insightful material to consider. It is mandatory you attend his classes if you expect to do well and you must contribute to the class discussion however if you are willing he is very helpful. Best teacher ever
Wow all I can say is how mad I am to pay 550 dollars for a prof that doesn't even teach the course nor hand back one assignment marked before the exam. Glad I have NO IDEA what any of my marks are and he wont even reply to emails. Nice? Yes but who cares I am in university to LEARN.
Dr. Persaud is, simultaneously, one of the best guys you will ever meet, but one of the worst profs I've had @ Glendon. He is perhaps to most suave guy ever, and would be much better utilized as an ombudsman, president, or some sort of executive position than in the classroom. Good guy, but in my opinion, not worthwhile to take his classes.
University is meant to prepare you for the real world. Professor Persaud's teaching style and attitude do exactly that. Clear and concise with a caring demeanor towards students. Very approachable and humorous. Clear insistence on individualized learning, hard work. He steers you towards new knowledge, its up to you to take advantage of his wisdom.
Prof. Persaud is by far one of the most interesting and thoughtful professors at Glendon. Though some students may find his lectures be long winded, he always manages to bring the subject back to its central focus. I highly recommend taking his courses, as they're the most informative, enjoyable and participatory of any courses I've taken so far.
A graet professor will recommend him/his courses to othres. He really knows his stuff makes his classes worth attending. Interesting to listen to. He is very much concerned about his students welfare or well being.
I really enjoy this professor. I am currently taking PPAS 4200 and liking his style. He does not spoon feed the students and only interrupts when the discussion is going off track. He is insightful and expects the same from his students - highly recommend.
this professor is absolutely terrible, he is on of the most cold hearted individuals and consistently lies to his students. he would much rather put himself on a pedestal than teach a class and actually embrace learning. this person should not be a professor let alone and individual who is supposed to guide the young minds of the future
Good: knowledge about the subject, engaging the class in discussion, care for the student's mark. Bad: disorganized, doesn't answer e-mails, name-drops, forgets names, loses your marks and asks you to write your mark on a paper, didn't get to present (wrote a 1pg paper on democracy) okay guy, but frustrating class, got an A.
show up to his classes and talk in class, state your opinions, involve yourself in discussions. to pass his tests always give your critical analysis of the topic and you will do great. he is very friendly and rewards your effort
Amazing prof! Class discussion is always informative and exciting. You really learn a lot from him.
The essence of learning is actualy teaching and embracing knowledge. this professor does nothing to inspire nor promote the educational journey. he is an over-paid useless individual who does not deserve the credit he bolsters about in every class. please take this individual out of a teaching position so that REAL professors can have a chance
when I entered this class I held professors in the highest regard with an incredible amount of experience. unfortunately after this class I was proven wrong because of the disgusting inability for this professor to help educate and teach the young minds of the future. he is absolutely self-fulfilled and is very pretentious. please get him out
Great professor and an outstanding person. Takes an interest in every student and is very encouraging. Gives the best inspirational speeches to the class, and is a fair marker and clear about expectations, no surprises on the exam. "Don't be a cynic, be a skeptic" - Radha Persuad.
Dr. Persaud is a fantastic professor who takes a genuine interest in the success of every student. He always does his best to encourage students, and displays great insight into the political process. You will be a better person after taking his class because of his guidance. He's just a genuinely good person and I can't recommend him enough.
*sigh* I want to be honest, this Prof really is bad. As a teacher you don't get much from him. As a person he is like a "slick" smooth-talker. He brags about his connections in the political realm, yet he doesn't foster connections to his students. For the tests, you won't know where to pull the material from, certainly not his lectures.
He is extremely knowledgeable of the material. He doesn't get bogged down by off topic discussions. All you have to do is put an effort into understanding the readings and you will do well. I have to stress again that this guy is very knowledgeable. He intently listens to your arguments and is very insightful in his responses.
His class is an easy A and I thought we developed a strong connection all semester. However, despite his encouraging me to apply to grad school and providing me written assurance he'd provide a reference, he let the link expire. Luckily, I had other profs to provide references. I heard from a friend of mine he did the same thing to him as well.
It was an easy, funny, interactive class. Best summer class I ever took.
was that a class...., I thought this was a seminar on how professors deter students from education because of the lack of motivation, interest and tone of his voice. get this guy out of a room with young minds, he is useless
Amazing professor. He really cares about his students and is a true inspiration. Though the subject matter can tend to be boring he makes it interesting with his passion for it.
Dr Persaud is an exemplary prof. I had the pleasure of learning from him in a number of courses. Persaud is a hard worker who seeks not only to disseminate the subject material, but also to help students understand the meaning of material. He engages students in discussions, contributing to a successful academic environment. Very dedicated prof.
Dr. Persaud taught me how to think critically and formulate/verbalize my own ideas, rather than regurgitate others. This has unfortunately not been the case so far in my other classes. He genuinely cares about the successes of his students. I will miss chatting about SA & Madiba every week! I highly recommend taking this class with him.
Dr. Persaud is one of the most learned professors in Ontario. He draws from a vast reservoir of knowledge and delivers it in manner understandable to all. He's curiosity for the subject manner is unmistakable. He's also very familiar with the political atmosphere of my home, South Africa, a testament of his commitment to comparative analysis.
Loved the lectures. Very eloquent , and takes the time to provide students with additional support outside of the classroom. Helped me personally with a very tedious petition for withdrawal and encouraged me to continue pursuing my studies. He was very instrumental in the founding of Glendon's student Political Science Association.
Dr. Persaud is an outstanding professor and constitutional scholar who cares deeply for his students. I had the privilege of taking a seminar with him in my final year of study. He inspires students to achieve their potential, teaches them to think critically, and offers genuine guidance for students seeking to pursue further education. A+++
Amazing professor. So kind and caring. Tough content in 4130 however. Lectures are simple though.
An inspirational professor. Wow is all I can say. He has won so many teaching awards and not for no reason. Show up to class, show him that you care about the material, and he will LITERALLY bend over backwards to make sure you end up with an A+
Such a knowledgeable scholar and constitutional law master. He knows the ins and outs of political law like no other. I highly recommend you take his class and make sure to show up and be thoughtful when participating. Itll go a long way
Dr. Persaud cares about each of his students and wants to see them succeed. Frequent class participation and being up to date on current political events will help boost your grade. Tests are straightforward if you have done your readings. Not the best at timely emails. Lectures can feel a bit all over the place and unstructured at times.
Persaud is a great and influential Prof. Though, he talks much about his connection and achievement at length, but overall you will learn a lot from his class. Above all, he wants everyone to succeed. He listen and care about students. I'll recommend taken his class.
Spent every lecture bragging about his connections, and his careers achievements. I learned everything from the textbook, all he did was reading off the textbook during class and going off topic constantly.
Defnitley take this course for the best educational experience. He is also a very helpful, passionate and inspirational professor. Really cares for his students and is very accommodating. There are also no papers or really difficult assignments, just a mid term and final exam and a presentaion. Very fair marker, based on your effort and skill.
Professor Persaud's knowledge on the subject of democratic representation offers students a significant understanding focusing on elements of political and legal scholarship. His seminars provide students a comfortable environment to discuss political topics of democracy and representation in order to further their own knowledge and understanding.
Professor Persaud is passionate about his work. He is very flexible, considerate and will accommodate the needs of his students. I've never had such a dedicated, supportive and inspirational teacher such as Professor Persaud and I am glad that I had the chance to take his classes. Thanks for everything, Prof. Persaud!
Dr.Persaud is passionate in his work and demonstrates his acuity with Canadian political history. He is inclusive in his teaching & is caring to plan out weekly readings/assignment dates with the entire class's consideration. Stay on top of the readings before class to be prepared for the rich discussion ahead.A real life gem for gaining knowledge.
I liked the course being treated like a seminar format. Dr.Persaud has a vast framework on the themes of Democracy and Representation that his position as moderator played into discussion in the lectures and learning the course content played a harmonic role in preparing for the final. Has a clear grading scheme & schedule to prepare way in advance
Professor Persuad is highly knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter, which is evident in his seminars. He provides thorough explanations and use real-world examples to make complex concepts understandable. His clear communication, engaging methods, and dedication to student success exemplify excellence in his teaching.
Professor Radha Persaud's LAW 3135 was transformative. He excelled at making complex topics accessible, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging open discussion. His clear lectures, practical examples, and constructive feedback greatly enhanced my understanding and analytical skills. An exceptional educator!
Professor Persaud was amazing in teaching and encouraging his students to participate in the seminars. The classes are always an amazing vibe and you learn while he cracks a joke or two. The amount of experience he has in his job is incredibly inspiring
Professor Persaud is one of the greatest professors i've had at York. Kind, caring, and funny. He makes you work but being in the class and getting to know him is extremely rewarding.
If you haven't taken any of his classes, i would highly recommend. Not only is professor Persaud an amazing teacher, but he is a good human being. He cares for all his students, encouraging them to go further in their academic careers. Without a doubt professor Persaud is the best professor I have ever had and probably will ever have.
Absolutely Amazing!!
Prof. Persaud is a dedicated, knowledgeable teacher who makes complex topics understandable. His engaging lectures, real-world examples, and supportive approach helped me learn a lot. unstuck study was a great supplemental study tool too.
Professor Persaud is by far the best professor at this campus! His exams are typically 1-2 essay questions (and he hints at what they will be). He values participation and critical thinking above all. He makes an effort to get to know his students personally and does his best to make lectures relevant and engaging!
Persaud is by far the best prof here! His exams are typically 1-2 essay questions (he hints at what they will be). Very heavy on participation and critical thinking rather than the facts. Makes lectures engaging and relevant. He makes a point to get to know each student personally and is so, so kind! Would take any class taught by him!
Persaud is the best professor I have ever had! There is one group project and two exams. The exams are 1-2 essay questions and he hints and what they will be before hand. He makes a point to know all of his students personally and is so kind! Lectures are always engaging and relevant. Could not recommend his classes enough!
A totally awesome professor who makes everything relevant to today. I took POLS3720 - American Politics with him but wasn't listed here. The online was fantastic and the best experience I had so far. He really connects. Exams questions are doable if you study the textbook and attend class. Highly recommend this prof.
