Great professor really cared for students success and really knew the subject matter. Very pretty also
Dr. Reddy was very composed, considerate and knowledgeable. Great teacher.
Class is easy compared to other upper level division biology courses. Recitation is extremely helpful for exam problems. I studied straight from her lecture slides a day before every exam for an A.
Dr. Reddy is great and really knows her stuff! The only suggestion I have to future students is to make sure and record her lectures because she speaks very fast and tries to cram a ton of material into each lecture. You will work for your grade, but if you keep up with the pace you will earn a good grade. Recitation seemed a bit pointless.
She tells you what to learn, teaches it to you, then tests you on it. Unlike many teachers in PSU's science department she doesn't throw questions completely out of left field at you on exams thinking it's somehow benefiting you. One con - she doesn't have any crowd control which was a bit problematic because people around me wouldn't stop talking.
She is one of the most straight forward and fair professors I have ever had. Study the power points, participate in the recitations and show up to most of the classes and you will get an A. My only problem is she talked extremely fast during lecture, and trailed off at the ends of her sentences. I learned the most from recitation and youtube.
I recommend anyone taking Genetics to take it with Dr. Reddy! She tests entirely on her PP slides, and all exams were totally straight forward. You get clicker points for showing up, very easy way to cushion your grade. Recitation was useful for practicing problems. This class will be a cakewalk if you've already taken Molec Bio.
Dr. Reddy was fantastic! She uses visual aids and short videos that were really useful for visual learners, such as myself. The recitation activatesproblem sets are graded on participation and clickers are fair. With these buffers, if you do the work and study enough to earn mid Bs on all of the exams, you will receive an A.
Dr. Reddy is extraordinarily clear in her expectations and really wants her students to succeed. Her tests are extremely fair if you are studying and keeping up with the material. not an easy A, but shouldn't be that hard to get an A if you are really trying for one. She very knowledgeable and by far the BEST SCIENCE prof at PSU
Her exams used to be easier but have gotten considerably harder. More work than other biology courses taken, but should be able to get A if put in work. Lots of old practice exams which are a must do before real ones. Book is terrible and readings are too long. You may be able to get away with just studying powerpoints. Easy recitation & HW.
Lectures are awesome! has lots of videos to explain things! Highly recommend! Tests are on power points so if you study you will do good! She also curves to class average!!!!
Her exams are curved and one of the three are dropped at the end of the course, which is great because if you mess up, forget to study, etc. it's not the end of the world. She incorporates great videos to help engage people that get tired of the typical notes. I was worried about taking biology but she made it easy to get an A with a little effort.
I love Dr. Reddy. She is clear, kind, and great at her job. If you go to class and study her power points, you will do very well. She drops your lowest scores, too, which helps a lot.
I really loved having Radhika as a professor. She's very clear when she's presenting, and as long as you pay attention, you'll do well in the class. Missing the class won't hurt your grade, but you'll really miss out on the awesome lectures. I never learned quite as well from the book as I did from her.
I absolutely love Dr. Reddy. Her lectures are great! She is an amazing professor. So extremely helpful during office hours. Very approachable and so sweet and kind. I would definitely recommend taking her for Genetics. Her exams are multiple choice and directly from slides. I cannot reiterate how nice she is! Loved the class learned a lot as well.
The textbook makes you feel like you will never understand the material and then you go to the lecture and she makes everything seem so easy and it all becomes really clear.
I really enjoyed this class! I was nervous about taking a science class because I haven't taken one since high school which was 6 or 7 years ago. I look forward to another class taught by her. I am not the strongest in science and its a week before the final and I've maintained a A+. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT theres tons of it!
My favorite professor, hands down. She makes the material so approachable. Don't fear this class- just study her powerpoints (you don't even need the book. Seriously, don't buy it.) and you'll do well. She does require a clicker every class, but the questions are easy. She will drop basically all of your low scores too!
Professor Reddy is an amazing, witty, intellectual professor. She talks really fast, so you should sit close and keep up. It definitely helps to go over her slides before class because you won't be able to keep up with notes. You'll go over an entire chapter in one lecture! However, she grades fairly, and is interested in student success 100%
Never appreciated organization in a professor more. Can I take all biology classes from her please? Knows her stuff, presents in a clear/organized way, answers questions well, PPT slides informative on their own/easy to take notes during lecture, drops lowest test grade. Would highly recommend.
You'll be asked clicker questions during each lecture. (Save money, get the REEF app for 14.99) Each quiz proves your attendance. If you get a question wrong - you don't get full participation. Exams are moderately difficult at 25 questions. Extra credit opportunities, dropped grades and curved exams. Will listen if you need help. Book NOT needed.
Amazing lecturer! Sometimes she goes too fast for comprehension but that is what the reading is for 1 or 2 chapter each class. The most challenging part are her tests, 4 each quarter, not curved, and extremely difficult. Average 50-70%. I made 200 flashcards for each exam, studied 12+ hrs/week and got 90% :) So put in the work and you'll be fine.
Radhika is a caring and outgoing instructor. She is super approachable in her office hours (which is very hard to find). Her tests can be difficult, but fair given the difficult of material. She really wants all students to succeed and become great professionals.
I'm a senior with a 4.0, and her class is unrealistically difficult. Don't take any other hard classes with bi211. She talks really fast and does NOT laymen things down. Her verbiage on tears & slides is super confusing. Tests are super difficult because of the depth of knowledge expected in a seriously short amount of time. I'm so tired!
She definitely knows her stuff. At times she can be hard to follow just due to her high vocabulary. Her tests were all multiple choice which is good and bad but as long as you studied they weren't too bad.
Literally if you show up to class you're garunteed a B at the lowest. She is a generous grader and drops so many low scores.
Radhika lectures on a high, but appropriate level. She's highly intelligent. Can speak fast which makes it easy to get lost if you aren't paying attention. Definitely read before lectures. Tests are reasonable but some questions are more challenging that others. Put in a decent (normal) amount of work and you should have no problem.
Radhika was a great professor, just put in the usual amount of memorizing. This class is very information dense with each lecture covering a chapter or two a day. She offers some extra credit. I studied her slides and got an A. The textbook isn't necessary, she sums up the chapter in the powerpoint. Overall I liked her take her if you can
Dr. Reddy is one of the best professors I have had. You will have to put a good amount of time in memorizing, but Dr. Reddy makes the concepts easy to understand. She teaches using powerpoints as well as videos and animations of the processes. Her slides show exactly what will be on the exam. She is friendly and approachable and EC is offered.
Great professor. Only she teaches very fast and sometimes, I couldn't get anything out of the lecture. But overall she did anything for us to understand and get the materials. Exams are not that hard. Also many extra credit opportunities.
Her lectures are very detailed and passionate, but she does move pretty fast, so much so that I had a hard time taking notes. However, her passion for biology inspired me and I highly enjoyed (and did super well!) in this course.
She is extremely fair in her grading (drops a quiz, exam, assignments, etc.) and she also offers a bit of extra credit. She talks really fast, but it's very clear how knowledgeable and experienced she is. Her D2L page, presentations, and assignments are all extremely organized and clear.
Dr. Reddy was one of the best professors I've ever had! Her lectures were in powerpoint format and she really explained lectures very well! It is very easy to get an A since there are other assignments to do in class besides exams and quizzes such as worksheets, online quizzes, lab manuals, and presentation of an article (especially figures).
I am not one who loves taking science classes. I went into this class a little nervous. Rahdika's powerpoints were easy to read and understand. She was so approachable for questions and concerns. Her passion for science was really awesome to observe and learn from. She is so incredibly knowledgeable but still very graceful and helpful. :)
You're going to have to work for your grade- but if you put in the work, it will pay off! Don't skip the clicker questions, they add up!
Great professor, and very fair in grading. She offers so much extra credit to help boost your grade and is helpful when you ask questions. Her powerpoints are full of information so studying for exams requires alot of memorizing, but it's doable.
Dr. Reddy packs a lot of material into her lectures and powerpoints, so it takes a lot of studying to ensure a good grade. That said, she is good at teaching and you will end up knowing the material by the end of class. She also offers a good amount of extra credit. Just make sure to keep studying her materials and keep up.
I do not understand all that hype. Average teacher at best, but very easy class. If you need to get an A for little effort: this is your choice.
Her lectures are pretty fast paced, but very clear and convey the information effectively. Exams are reflective of the content covered in lectures, and are all very fair. Her practice exams are an effective tool for studying, and she gives some extra credit opportunities too. Really a great professor.
She's very nice and responsive to questions. Lectures are SUPER video heavy which is good for some people but it just made me mad. Very easy tests with obvious answers. Many areas of the class have the lowest score dropped (4 days of participation points, one discussion, one exam) so that makes it easier.
I never opened my textbook and still got A's. It was very much high-school level biology. Reddy is great though and goes out of her way to answer student questions. Don't buy or rent a clicker, just pay 15 bucks for the app.
Dr. Reddy has been the best professor Ive had at PSU. Her policy and grading is clear and fair. She encourages peoples discussion and puts an emphasis on relating what we learn in the classroom to the real world. She is amazing! I would definitely take classes from her again.
She is very nice but her teaching method is not. She has a crazy PowerPoint as a lecture material and it is too hard to find the relationship between the subjects inside it. She teach 22 chapters in 12 weeks. It is crazy. The student cannot understand and memorize everything very well. This course with her is not efficient. Only pushing in to exams
Everyone who says Professor Reddy is too hard has not taken many science classes. She is extremely reasonable in her expectations. If you read the textbook and pay attention in class, youll be fine. She also uploads practice exams that are very similar to the real exams. If you get a bad grade in her class, its because you did not put in the work
She's amazing! So passionate about biology and teaching. Really interesting lectures. The weekly assignment and exams are super easy, but material is dense and best understood by being in class and paying attention versus skipping and trying to learn only from the lectures. Great class and easy A.
Reddy was great. The class moves fast, it covers a whole chapter each lecture. Every class except three throughout the whole term is a lecture, and theres very minimal homework. The material itself is definitely manageable, as long as you stay on top of your learning. The labs taught by grad assistants were genuinely fun, which is a plus!
Radhika is great. Her lectures move really fast so you will want to print out the slides and take notes on those instead of trying to keep up writing on a blank paper. You will want to come to class. What she tests on is clearly what is learned in class. You will know what to study in more depth (in the book) based on her slides.
Hard but good
The course covers a lot a material, so you have to go to class and spend a lot of time reviewing the PowerPoints. The teacher is organized, which helps. Plus, exams are straightforward.
Professor Reddy was amazing, but she is very lecture heavy and goes through the material very fast. She talks very fast, like she's trying to catch a train. The videos she shows in class are very helpful. The test questions were based from the slides she used in class, I highly recommend.
She is kind. The way she grades is terribly forgiving of missed assignments (drops the lowest score of one quiz, one exam, one deliberative democracy, and the clicker question formatting is forgiving as well). Easy to pass, but an A is something you need to have dedicated study time for. She is easy to follow and sticks to the slides for grades.
Dr. Reddy is great! The course is hard, but if you go to class and review the exams from previous years you can do well exams. Her lectures are awesome.
Literally the best teacher I have had. Supported me through class and beyond. Is passionate about both learning and teaching how biology can cure some of the most difficult health problems. Her class is designed so that you can learn which ever way is easiest for you, tests are fair yet tough, and you have chances to recover from a poor grade.
great lectures and great character as being a biology professor, I am personally a visual person and she uses great videos and other sources to support her detailed and simple presentations that keep you intrigued. Never been a big biology fan but she made me love the class.
Reddy is an awesome teacher and is very kind and seems to enjoy biology. The class is fairly easy. Don't skip class because there's clicker questions each class (download the app). Also DO cogbooks because it's a lot of points! The tests can have tricky questions but just really study the lectures and cogbooks and you'll be fine! Easy A, good class
Homework was online and easy. Study PowerPoint slides for test and youll do fine. Required to buy iclicker for questions during lecture.
I am NOT a science person, and I got an A in this class. Professor Reddy gives you multiple way to succeed in this class. Literally just PAY ATTENTION and she will give you all the answers in her lectures. Which are still short and sweet. She knows how to pack all the info in an hour lecture. The homework is easy, you just gotta do it!
Absolutely LOVE Dr. Reddy! Took sensory phys with her and enjoyed her lectures. Her test questions come straight from the lectures & audio recordings, so come to class and be prepared to learn! Also, go to office hours and get to know her because she's hilarious. Went so many times that she offered to write me a letter of rec for dental school :)
She's fantastic. BI202 is framed in a way for non-biology majors and it's done impeccably. Lectures are very engaging and I also like how exams are graded on a curve. Definitely recommended.
I took BI202 and 203 with Dr. Reddy, 202 in person and 203 online due to COVID. Dr. Reddy provided an engaging class in both scenarios and made the transition to online smoothly. She's amazing at both teaching and helping students with any questions, concerns, or technology issues. My only complaint is that one of her tests is on dead week.
Great teacher, there if you have questions
Prof. Reddy's class given this was done online was the best Bio class Ive ever taken. She tends to lecture really fast but thats because of the school's learning pace and not hers. Though her grading is very fair regardless if it was in class or online. I really liked how quickly i was able to get in touch with her via email as well.
Since this class was virtual, she made the tests more difficult than in-person classes by making it more comprehension based. She is a fair grader and does give you tips on how to study for the exams before they come up. Make sure you are doing the assignments she assigns to get a firm understanding of the material.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course with Dr. Reddy! She makes her expectations for the course clear and provides plenty of study materials/resources. There is a lot of homework, but it does help with understanding the lectures and material. Highly recommend taking Biology with her!
There are in class assessment questions so you have to attend zoom lectures but Dr. reddy has amazing powerpoint that are really good for studying for exams. She writes her own exam questions and they are very specific so pay attention to what she emphasizes during lecture. One exam was unnecessarily hard but other than that, she is a solid prof.
There are a lot of unnecessary assignments. The DD assignments are very useless, but not as useless as the in class activities. She has her ta grade the essays and that seems very inappropriate for how heavily weighted the assignment is.
She doesnt discuss more than half the material that are on the exams in class. She has to add a curve for exams because most the class fails and even the curve doesnt help so good luck if you have a future in biology.
i love you Dr. Reddy. The lectures are clear and concise, straight to the point, easy to follow and understand, and the homework is manageable. The office hours are easily accessible over zoom and there is even a class discord!
This class goes by extremely fast, and if you hadn't taken bio recently like me it'll be even harder. On the bright side Reddy is an extremely fair grader, and many of your lowest scores get dropped. The chapter learning module assignments are worthless, study her slides and in class questions.
Dr. Reddy's class included a LOT of material to get through but she was really great about emphasizing what needed to be retained and where to find it. She is a neuroscientist studying the science of learning and it's clear she builds her course structure around that base of knowledge!
Great biology professor and a great course... Homework is easy to get done (if time is put in) and assignments are well thought out... no major struggles there! Exams are a bit difficult but lectures help with comprehension. Assignments are due before lectures but they prepare you with what will be in the lectures slides and worksheets.
Fast lectures. I took her because I wanted to learn something for the DAT. She is great but I hope the class period is longer so that she explains more about the course material.... She generously give you a lot of extra credit that can bump up your grade by huge.
There is a lot of content covered in each class. The tests are directly from the PowerPoint and usually are curved, the textbook is unnecessary. Clicker questions each class counted towards grade do the homework before each class. Dr. Reddy always came to class happy to teach and was very knowledgeable about the subject. Extra credit is offered.
Dr. Reddy is very intelligent. Sometimes I found that the questions I had were not answered well. She moves very fast and expects you to understand just as quick. As long as homework is done you can get a good grade. Tests are open book/open note, except the final. Would take again, but she is not my favorite teacher.
She is very knowledgeable about this class, yet she expects us to learn these chapters off the bat in minutes. She moves quickly with everything and it's kinda hard to catch up.
She is a great professor that cares about her students, and their success. She gives multiple ways to get help from her outside class. Pay attention during the lectures as questions are posed through learning catalytic that care about correctness. My only gripe is homework needs to be finished for the chapter before we are lectured on it.
I am very surprised Dr. Reddy received such a high score. I found her lectures particularly hard to follow. She lectures at speeds so fast its hard to follow. Yes she is very knowledgable and willing to work with you outside of class but i believe many of the concepts she teaches in a way that is much too complicated for no reason.
Dr. Reddy moves very fast within the lectures, as there is a lot of material to cover in each lecture and because she expects that you read the textbook and did the homework prior to class. Pay attention during lecture because the clicker questions are based on the current lecture and are graded on correctness.
I love her class! Although she does go by lectures quickly, it's only because there is so much to go over in such a small amount of time. I love how she gives extra credit opportunity, and ensures we leave the class with a good grade! I truly respect her and would love to keep taking her classes.
Dr. Reddy might talk fast but she gets through the content! If you're keeping up with textbook reading as intended her lectures are fantastic. There is SO much covered in this course but it's easy if you're following along. Exam structure makes it genuinely hard to fail (if you show up to both days lowest you get is 50/100), plus extra credit!
Lectures are dense and fast, but read the textbook and you'll be fine. Attendance is measured via online questions, which can be done from home. Very responsive to student feedback, great with accommodations, just be clear about what you need. Lowest scores in each category are dropped.
She is an awesome teacher and makes the long lectures enjoyable and engaging!
Dr Reddy is very good at keeping the lectures engaging and giving you all the information that you will need for the tests.
Ive taken the whole biology sequences and now upper division cellular neuroscience with Dr.Reddy, she is phenomenal. She makes it easy to receive a good grade if you simply try. She is easy to talk to in person or over email and is fair in her grading. Her lectures are the perfect pace, but can seem challenging to lower division students. TAKE HER!
Dr. Reddy is clear with her expectations for grading, and the course is a breeze if you just show up to class and pay attention. Exams are truly difficult to fail, and one exam is dropped per term. Could not have wished for a better bio teacher!
absolutely superb lectures, just a bit fast for newcomers. She goes into detail on many topics and always has extra credit opportunities after each exam, of which half your score is basically guaranteed through collaborative exams
Dr. Reddy's class formatting ensures that we encounter the information several different times (spaced repetition style) which is super great for actually learning. She talks fast during lecture but with it being the second encounter with the material it ends up making tons of sense! It's genuinely hard to do poorly. Thank you Dr. Reddy!
best teacher ive ever had. took her for 211-213 and wish i could have her again. lots of dropped scores so you can miss a few classes, homework assignments, and one test and it wont affect your grades at all. fast talker so you do have to pay attention. so so kind, cannot give her enough flowers!
Dr. Reddy is so, incredibly knowledgeable, and I have never had a biology professor this amazing. The way the class is designed makes it so you encounter the material several times before the class, which is awesome for memory retention. You get full notesheets but even with the amount of content learned she teaches so well they're unnecessary.
took her for bi211 and bi212, goes through lectures fast but if you read the text and study on your own it is easy to get an A
Dr. Reddy is super organized and passionate about biology. Her lectures are clear, and the two-part exams actually help with learning. Expect to stay on top of readings and assignments—it's a rigorous course, but fair. She genuinely wants students to succeed. Would definitely recommend!
absolutely superb professor and class, out of 100 points on each exam, 50 is basically guaranteed if you showed up to the group exam part
Professor Reddy's BI211 class is so easy. Her slideshows are amazing and all you need for the exams. The exams themselves are literally impossible to fail. She does a two part exam where the first part is a group exam where you can use AI, Google, etc and the second part is by yourself and the questions are VERY similar to the group exam. Easy A+
Rigorous course, but fair. She genuinely wants her students to succeed. Would recommend
Brilliant, but still able to teach in a way that feels approachable. Reiterates/ rephrases a lot, if one metaphor doesn't hit another might. Took Principles series with her and it's challenging, but felt rewarding and I learned a ton. Also really progressive with her ethos on exams and education in general which was cool to me as a future educator.
Dr. Reddy is so incredibly smart, it feels like a privilege to be taught by her. She knows her subject so well! The way her class is set up makes it impossible to fail as long as you put in a little effort. The textbook and homework modules line up with the lectures very well, the labs and exams were easy, and her TA's were wonderful! :)
