Excellent teacher and very knowledgeable. Her notes are very detailed that you really won't need the book or the flashcards. She makes learning fun!
I have Rae for 252 now, and I had her for 251 last semester. She is by far the BEST lab teacher I have ever had. She is easy to understand, approachable, and explains things so we can understand them. I recommend her for ANY class.
Great teacher with detailed notes. Her notes/slides are so good you really don't need the book. I took her for lab also...I recommend taking her for lecture & lab if possible.
awesome teacher ever!
great prof. she loves biology. she's easy on the eyes, too.
Rae's great. She really wants you to learn the material so she does her best to make sure you understand it! What you see on the powerpoint slides is what you need to know for the tests, which is great. Rae gets really excited about what she's teaching, so students get excited too. Also had her for lab, she's totally helpful and clear!
She teachs A&P, best professor ever! She's hilarious and cool!
Rae is a great teacher. You have to study a lot, but tests are multiple choice. She posts all her powerpoints.
She's an awesome teacher! She makes sure you understand and isn't one of those proffesors that try to trick you on the exams. The class was a cool and interesting with her teaching it!
Rae is a very opinionated person and have a sense of humor,a bit sarcastic. But other than that she posts powerpoints up on time, and teach the powerpoints. For EMU to have the worst Biology department, she is one of the professor's in this department.
Pr. Labadie is a very energetic, talented teacher. She spells her material clearly, has a nice sense of humor, a bit intimidating at first but breaks the ice after a couple of lectures. Her tests are based on lectures and PP, readily available and helpful during office hours. Excellent teacher!
I loved Rae! She makes anatomy lecture interesting. If you can take Liz for 252 instead because her tests are easier. Take Rae over Kelb! Hard class, but Rae is awesome.
She is a great lecturer and tries to keep the class interesting with her outgoing sense of humor because the material is not exactly interesting. Her class is intense. If you do not have time to study at least 20 hours a week I would not suggest this class to you. She gives you a lot of resources to use to prepare for exams.
Great Professor. I took her for 251 and 252, and although 252 was more challenging, Rae made it seem okay. She gives power points on everything she wants you to know that will be covered on the exams, and she can be funny. BTW, she loooves the heart section in 252 lol, so please be prepared for her excitement.
If you had her for BIO 251, your best bet is to stick with her for BIO 252. You should know what to expect on her exams since she gives you everything you need to know on slides. Her clicker questions are annoying since she only really uses them to keep you in class. Very simply format. Study! This class can be all consuming.
she is very good pro!!! she knows what she is talking about but her tests are hard because her wording in the exam is different than the note...
I took both BIO 251 and BIO 252 from Rae. She's an excellent instructor. You're lucky to take her classes - her classes are challenging, and she makes learning fun. Highly recommend her classes.
Awesome teacher she has her lectures/powerpoints online. Its a difficult class requires 20 hours a week of studing. 4 exams, 50 clicker/quiz questions. ATTEND CLASS! Shes interesting and loves what she does, take her not Kleib. Grades are on a point system.
The course itself is the hard part, not necessarily Rae. She does a MUCH better job than Kielb! I had him for the same course the first time I took the class!
I loved her as a professor and she was hilarious most of the time. Class was never boring. The only criticism is that i feel a lot slides are filled with fluff. I never knew exactly what I need to know for the test. But of course professors aren't going to spoon feed you
I took BIO 109 (Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology) at WCC and thought Rae was great. Not an easy class but she offered plenty of ways to keep your grade up, including extra credit and if you missed a quiz or lab she offered opportunities to make up. She explained concepts very well and was entertaining as well.
Lots of information in those courses but Rae knows her stuff! She is awesome!
Rae is an awesome professor. Very enthusiastic, easy to get ahold of, and hilarious. She clearly loves what she teaches. Tests are based off of Power points and lectures, I highly recommend recording lectures due to the amount of info and she can give great examples that won't be in the slides. 4 exams, 50 daily questions & 50 extra credit points
Rae is a wonderful professor with very clear expectations and is very helpful!
I was excited to take this course with Rae. I must admit, I did not find her to be a very effective teacher. I found her knowledge to be superficial at best. Her professionalism was lacking. I am currently in medical school, and had a sincere interest in learning this material, but did not from Rae. Take this course with a professor who has a Phd.
This professor is unapprocatable and would get an attitude when people asked questions. Tests are hard, and does not offer extra credit besides attendance (Clicker questions). Would not recommend.
She is a horrible instructor. I actually went to other instructors with questions because any time I ever had a question her answer was I don't know. She thinks she knows everything though. Worst instructor I have ever had. Over half our class has to retake. Another student said it perfectly "I actually learned things while taking her test."
I took BIO 111 at WCC with Rae last semester. I don't agree at all with the student who claim she is unclear or unprofessional. She is very educated in anatomy and, although the class is tough, I loved the material I learned through her. For any future students: I recommend recording all of her lectures then using the powerpoints for tests
Rae is a great professor. The class is definitely not easy but if you put in the time to memorize the information on her slides and lab info, it's not hard to get A (without reading the book). All exams are curved. Could earn 50 extra points with clicker Qs. Slightly difficult to approach.
Rae is amazing and anyone saying otherwise probably thought they wouldn't have to actually understand and apply concepts. Also, when people ask stupid questions, Rae tells them like it is. If you're not stupid, you'll love her! 4 exams, lectures all from powerpoint which she posts. 50 clicker questions giving you 50 extra points. Great class!
Not an easy class. Throws trick questions into the tests, she almost made it impossible to pass the class. Would not recommend.
Rae is wonderful but she doesn't budge at all with grading. She puts a lot of effort into her classes and expects that you do the same. She is really easy to talk to and she is always willing to help you out and will take the time to make sure that you understand everything. If you don't ask for help though she has no issues with failing you.
Tough teacher, but is clear on her expectations and what material will be necessary to know.
Rae was my first college science instructor and she did leave a bad impression to me. She didn't give back any of the exams she just put the grade in blackboard and moved on. She gets extremely mad when you fail, she chewed my class out for a half an hour after the first exam. Her lectures go very fast. Would not take again ever even if I was paid.
Rae is an incredible professor who really knows her stuff! I wouldn't recommend taking it with a heavy course load (especially the lab component as it has lots of memorizing muscles and bones). But you can definitely get an A if you work hard. 50 extra credit iclicker points throughout the semester (4 tests at 125 points each ). Noncumulative final
Rae is very clear with her expectations from the beginning of the semester. She is very passionate about what she does. There are 4 exams, each 125 points. 50 extra credit clicker questions. Final exam is non-cumulative. I would recommend taking Rae for both lecture and lab, because she is very helpful in both. This class takes a LOT of work!
Rae is a tough teacher. There is a lot of information given a one time. To much too process, especially if your taking other demanding classes.
love Rae, great teacher, very helpful, class can be tricky but you have to work for it and try and you will do good.
She's awesome! I would definitely take her again; she was my favorite teacher. Took her for both Anat Phys because I liked her so much. Her tests are a little rough, you need to go to class and to study the material. She is passionate about what she teaches and she is hilarious! Loved her.
Read your own material or you won't pass! She doesn't help you to understand any of the material. Exams are super hard!!! Gives one take home exam that's pretty easy (worth 60 points), 3 exams worth 115 pts each, & final worth 175 pts. Get a tutor because she is no help at all. Attendance for lect isn't mand, but lab is mandatory. Go to all classes
Please take anyone else besides her. Sassy attitude and talks about her dumb dogs like its part of the class Lab is mandatory. Almost everyone failed the quizzes and some exams. Wouldn't recommend her to work anywhere but he prison I hope she gets fired
Test are unbearable. I wouldnt recommend her to anyone. I had to drop the class in order to keep my gpa in good standing. I was failing after the second test. WTF? I am a science major and she made me regret my major after sitting in her lecture.
Really enjoyed this class and how Rae teaches it! Her lectures are super interesting and if you do the review questions she gives you, the exams are a breeze.
Best A&P Teacher I have had, funny, and very charismatic. She really enjoys teaching and tries to simplify complex topics. Obviously it is a difficult class, as long as you walk in with that mentality and apply yourself you will do fine! I would recommend her to everyone, and study hard for the lecture exams! Go to class for clicker points!
Rae is one of the best professors I have had! She is very passionate about what she lectures which makes it more interesting. Strict grader, but makes it up with extra credit clicker points.
I was so intimidated by A&P but Rae made me love it. She has so much knowledge and passion towards the human body that it makes learning far more interesting. She is always throwing in real examples in lecture. This is a tough class that requires an enormous amount of work, but if needed Rae helps you through it. Definitely taking her 252 class.
Great teacher! A lot of work but laid out in a way to help you learn. She has her own notes and powerpoints for you which makes paying attention much easier. All her lectures were fantastic as well as funny. Labs were great too. Highly recommend and will have to take another one of her classes in the future.
She is a great teacher. Loved her lectures. She took quizzes every week which were hard to cope up with but were very helpful. Class activities were exciting. Loved her labs too. She was always to the point and made this intense course very interesting. If I have to take A&P again, I would prefer her without any second thoughts.
Record her lectures and re-listen to them while going through the powerpoints. And again a third time. You'll definitely have to do some work and study, but getting an A is completely doable
Rae is an amazing instructor. I have had her for 2 years now and I love her and her teaching style. Test are tough but she puts a lot of effort into her classes and she expects you to do the same. Always available via email and office hours. A's are possible if you put in the study time. Overall wonderful professor and teacher!
A lot of people say that Rae is better than Kielb, to be honest they are about the same. Kielb teaches by talking with pictures and his tests are easier. Rae lectures with powepoints and notes, but she tests much harder. You will need to read the book and re-listen to her lectures. I ended with a 4.0 in her class, but she made me WORK for it.
Rae is by far the best professor I have had at Eastern! She is an awesome professor that puts a large amount of work into her class and expects you to do the same. Just a tip: Record the lectures and re listen to them before the next class period! That helps so much. Definitely a hard class, but the 4.0 is doable and she will help you if you ask.
Rae is a wonderful professor. She is always willing to help when it's asked for. Very helpful in office hours and is very clear with what you need to know. Would definitely take her again!
Great professor. The class is hard and you definitely have to work for a good grade but Rae was very accessible, always willing to help, very honest about the toughness of the course. There was an SI (supplemental instructor) who worked with Rae to help review which was SUPER helpful. She has a great sense of humor. Would definitely take again.
Attend lectures: extra credit clicker questions, take notes if that helps you, highly recommend recording lectures. Don't bother with the textbook, Rae is very thorough. Really funny and explains things clearly and in an entertaining way. Set aside time to study (re-listen to lectures in between class days) and you'll pass no problem.
Like everyone said, RECORD THE LECTURES. Listen to them before the next class so you can nab those extra credit clicker points, which are based on the previous lecture. These points matter a ton, so don't ever skip class. Probably the hardest class I ever took, just set some time to study (more than you did for Kielb's tests) and you'll be fine.
She is an awesome lecturer, she keeps it interesting and she is quite humorous. But her tests and expectations in so little time is UNREASONABLE. I'm a 4.0 student and heard she was hard, I took the challenge, but if you can avoid it AT ALL COSTS. 60% of my class has to retake it, the class averages for exams were always less than 65%.
If you take this class be prepared to study & PRACTICE each and EVERYDAY. Go to group studies and college tutors. Make sure to study for quizzes both in lecture and lab. She's a very hard teacher, if you're looking for some easy going teacher look ELSEWHERE!
Bio is a hard class in itself. While she is aswesome teaching micro, she rambles at Anatomy. She is usually out of the room during lab, and in there with the lab tech laughing & talking. She may walk in every 20-30 minutes or so. While most teachers let you leave once done, we have to wait for everyone to finish to all leave at once. Makes it hard.
I didn't study timely, study enough and miss some work. Good amplitude, clarity, energetic, dedication, enthusiastic, and her ability to arose curiosity and wrap your mind in a subject full of details in a slide that you see the points without much stain Space out test much wiser, more smile, no stern look, horrible substitute for lab
Here's how you do well in her class, record her lectures, listen to her lectures and redo your own notes, do her assigned homework, go over her before lecture for each class day to do well on clickers. She's honestly one of the best professors I've had at EMU. Professor Rae's lectures are funny, not dry, and she assigns interesting material.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I took her at washtenaw for bio 111, and basically the whole class had to retake it. She had an awful attitude with us, and did not seem to care. Im shocked by the good reviews on here for her, maybe it was just a bad semester for her when I took her, but I wouldn't recommend taking her at all. Exams were brutal.
RAE IS AMAZING. She's super sassy (esp outside of class) and hilarious, and she seriously knows what she's talking about. Her lectures are detailed but not overwhelming and the tests are easy (and reflect the lectures exactly). Shes the best prof i've ever had.
Rae is great but dont expect her to care if you dont. If you work hard and try then she will help you.
Rae is very approachable and willing to help! Record the lectures!!!! and more importantly, attend class 100% of the time so that you can answer the clicker questions which are actually extra credit points if answered correctly. By no means is this an easy A class, but if you put in the work and go the extra mile, getting an A is achievable!
Rae is a great professor. She knows what she is talking about, but sometimes that makes it hard to learn because she assumes you know as much as she does. Absolutely record and attend all lectures!! Lab is super easy.
This is just based on first impression because I dropped the class due to the fact I didn't have the pre-recs. Secondly, I dropped because of Rae's lecture style. She gets 0 points for inspiration. Bark less, wag more.
Rae is absolutely incredible. She is by far the most knowledgeable, passionate, and funny professor I've ever had. BIO252 isn't easy, and you're going to have to work for it, but the material will stick with you forever and you'll be so glad you took her class. Powerpoints are detailed but clear, lectures are fast but entertaining, and Rae's great.
Seriously amazing prof. Funny, very intelligent, super understanding. It's a tough class and requires a ton of your time but btw Rae and Erin (lab) and the two SIs (Lemke and Wolfe) you're gonna do great. Rae's lectures are great, record them and listen again w your notes at home. Go to office hours even if she intimidates you bc she's awesome.
Rae is an amazing professor. This class is incredibly intimidating, which she makes clear in the first lecture, but if you work with the material she gives you directly and go to SI sessions, you will be fine! I don't think any professor could make this class easy, but Rae made it enjoyable with her jokes and helpful teaching style. 10/10!!
Her exams are tough. You have to study for them to even get a decent grade. We just took the third exam and I thought it was the hardest exam I've taken by far. However, you have to come to class because there's clicker questions that are there to boost grades. She is very passionate about what she teaches although she is a hard grader.
As long as you study the lecture notes and put the time in to learn the material youll be fine. Rae is an amazing lecturer and very helpful.
Never hands back exams; you must go to her office hours to look at the exam. There were 50 points of extra credit available through clicker questions in class. There were homeworks every few weeks, which were not worth many points and you receive full credit if you attempt every question. She makes you do group work in class instead of individually
I had Rae for 251 and 252 and I love her, she's a tough person but she wants everyone to learn something. Exams are tough but she provides a lot of extra credit with clicker questions which is very helpful. I very highly recommend recording her lectures so you can go back and listen to anything you might have missed before or for clarification.
One of the best professors I've ever had and classes I've ever taken. Her lectures are really interesting, she offers a lot of extra credit, and exams are straight from the lectures (so record them).
Will clearly go over everything you need to know to succeed. All the tests were from material that she taught us, we never had to read through the book and learn concepts that she wasn't covering. There are some clicker questions and short homework assignments, but overall the class has a very easy workload.
Rae is literally the best professor I've had yet. This class is meant to be hard and to make a student work for the grade, but Rae made the class feel possible. She's very realistic throughout the entire semester and tells you exactly how to get an A in the class. There's also plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Rae is a really great professor! She is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and you actually LEARN the material from her. Be sure to record all of her lectures because that is the best way to study and everything she says in on the exam. Lab with her was also great and helpful in learning the material.
class is incredibly difficult. Study for DAYS for the exams & review constantly or wont pass. Lab exams easy. Lecture exams have SA + 65 MC. record lectures & going back to rewrite on PRINTED slides. Go to SI to get extra worksheets and help. Clickers for participation pts & extra cred. draws cards to answers Qs for in class participation pts
This professor started off the summer semester essentially accusing the class of taking the summer online course to be lazy and assuming it was for everyone to take the easy way out. Way too many long winded lectures and grades very harshly even if you explain things exactly the way she did in lecture so somehow expects more. Was not impressed.
Rae is really amazing! Yes the class is hard and you need to work and study for it but you actually learn the material to use for your medical career. You HAVE to record her lectures and listen to them over and over to do well on her exams. She is funny, caring and extremely knowledgable. She's also great in lab for BIO252!
Prof. Rae was a great lecturer, make sure to record her lectures, for you will need to listen to them again when studying for exams. Exams can be tricky, but if you make sure to study hard, you will do great. Lab for 252 is quite simple and the exams for the lab are very easy. This class is not an easy class, so you do need to work & study for an A
Very unrealistic with the way she grades. I love anatomy and bio but she made it very difficult to learn the material the way she flies thru it. Instead of actually learning I'm just worried about passing her tests. Which don't really correspond with how she lectures by the way. Be warned!
Rae is a very good professor. She gives great lectures that are super engaging and interesting. You can tell she cares about what she is teaching. Histology was one of my hardest classes yet, however it was one of my favorites as far as material goes. I got a C, but that's because it was a rough time in life for me. A or B is definitely achievable!
She is very rude and not the best at explaining the material. She d She speeds through the slides. She seems irritated every class period. Her tests don't reflect what she teaches, most of the questions are fill in the blanks and difficult to understand. You have to know the material inside and out.
This professor does not want her students to pass. Its that simple.
Hardest class I have ever had. The lab helps your grade significantly. Your textbook comes with the class so that's a plus. When she says you need to study everyday, she means it. I studied 40-60 hours weekly. This class is not a joke. You need to thoroughly understand everything inside and out to succeed. Don't be afraid to ask her questions.
Rae is pretty good at explaining the material in class, however, if you don't study the material A LOT, you won't pass! I have emailed her asking about plenty of questions throughout the semester and she never once replied to my email, which wasn't helpful at all. Her exams are super detailed but aren't horrible.
She is a pretty rude teacher. Rarely responds to emails and her exams are ridiculously hard. If you have a job, they are near impossible! I managed to get an A but I worked my ass off for it. Prepare to study Sooo much! Record lectures!
If 0/5 was an option I would have picked that. What a rude and uncaring professor. Does not care about anything related to your personal life, exams are harder than they should be, no compassion, routinely late to lecture, overall just very off-putting individual. I would never recommend her as an instructor.
I did her online Hospital Microbiology, she lets you know that you are expected to participate since we had to do gotomeeting. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
The material in this class is very abstract, and her lecture videos consist of us looking at the slide while she talks, flying through the material and not always being clear about what we will be tested on. I had to study ALOT just to figure out what I needed to figure out because her lectures are that confusing. Exams are hardest I've ever had.
This class was the hardest class I have ever taken. Professor Labadie is clearly knowledgeable about A&P, but she isn't very understanding. She's not a bad teacher, but this class isn't one that should be taken online. This class is like a full-time job, so be prepared to study all the time.
I took cell molecular online with this professor during covid. This was the hardest course I have ever taken even though it was online! The tests were 100 points but where 2.5 hours long. The lectures were really long and you have to do a lot of outside practice or else you wont pass. During covid, she was very uncaring on the circumstances.

Lectures: Somewhat confusing when explaining material, missing wholes in lecture (won't notice until exam) Participation points are easy, add to discussion board. Ask a question/answer one. Exams: extremely hard, know material backwards and forwards, know how to apply concepts or you will fail. She's not a graceful professor, comes off poorly.
I took A&P 1 with her in person and then A&P 2 with her online. Both are extremely hard. You practically need to write down every word she says because the exams are super specific. She will cover something for half a second in lecture and it will be there on the exam. I did not find her teaching style very effective.
SO unnecessarily hard. Tests don't correspond to her lectures. Hardest class I have taken.
Like others before me said, doesn't seem to understand that students are struggling more than most people are- and yet did nothing to actually support students. She held lectures where students could ask questions but did it at a time more convenient for her. Leaving those of us with other classes in the dust
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Very thorough about material and will force you to learn everything that is relevant to the class. Definitely required more effort than other classes but an amazing teacher nonetheless
Im a straight-A student in my final semester and this class almost pushed me off the deep end. This professor seriously lacks compassion. She acknowledged were having a rough year at the beginning of the semester and then did nothing to help us. The lectures are barely 20 minutes long and the tests make it seem like were anatomy experts. AVOID.
It's A&P; it's a lot of info. Class is time-consuming, especially over 7 weeks, but if you put in the hours, you'll do fine. She offers anywhere from 3-7% possible extra credit each exam. Her lectures are supplementary; start with them and take notes, then reinforce by reading the corresponding sections in the text. Not hard if you put in the time.
this is the hardest class I've ever taken. Hard to connect with prof. Don't take online if you don't have to. This class will take up every free minute of time you have, and I still barely passed. Hardest test I've taken considering you should have a good background prior to taking this class. Knowing material presented is not enough good enough.
I had to write a review for this one. She is unnecessarily hard, rude to students, and not at all understanding of the fact we are still in a pandemic. Tests in no way relate to her material. She lacks compassion. I get we are adults, but we arent robots. Demands to be respected without showing that same respect to her students.
She is really vague about the material that is going to be on the exams. This sucks because there is A LOT of material to learn. The homework portion of the class is easy but most assignments require you to do research on your own. The exams are difficult and the assignments are not helpful for the exams. I was very confused on what to study.
By far the hardest class I've taken at EMU. The professor emailed us after the first exam basically calling the class lazy and dumb, saying we needed to work harder if we wanted to pass. Throughout the semester, class average for exams never exceeded the 60s. SO many assignments per week (often unrelated to exam/lecture content). AVOID HER!
This professor likes to use the term concept and then ask hyper-specific questions on exams and quizzes. While she seems nice and personable, her lectures are dry and don't highlight what she is going to ask on exams. The averages were commonly below 60%, after everyone submitted she would curve the highest score to 100%.
Such an amazing prof. You definitely need to study a lot and put work into this class but she makes her lectures interesting and fun. If you study off of the lectures and take good notes, you will do well in this class. Re-watch the lectures as many times as you can- it will help a ton!! Her lectures are easy to understand too which is helpful.
Lecture videos are from 2019, glad I paid that $320 in online fees to be presented with three year old recycled (&bad) content. Only offered online. Prof doesn't respond to emails, comes off VERY rude and condescending. Lab was useless, not a single dissection. We did worksheets. Exams are written to set you up for failure. Best test avg was 76%.
I didn't really interact with Professor Labadie. Our TA did everything. The course was straightforward. Just watch a few lectures a week, complete the homework. There were two lab exams and 4 lecture exams. Not cumulative. Just another class.
Watch the lectures, take very detailed notes, hit the SI sessions. Rae never responded to one of my emails. She doesn't care about you or this course. Exams are pretty detailed and required in-depth understanding. Lab was pointless save for 3 sessions. HW doesn't apply to exams. Use Quizlet to get the answers and save yourself the time.
Do not take her if you can. Her exams want specific details so unless you have a photographic memory, you won't do well. Tests were 100 points each, no word bank for fill in the blank. I felt she often graded unfairly and would take points off for different delivery. Do not take her.
The tests needed specific details. She would barely ever respond to emails. Would tell me to reach out sooner so she can't help. Do well in Lab because it is a grade saver for sure. The homework is worth nothing and is nothing related to the test. Only offered online which is nearly impossible to learn.
While the class is hard, if you watch her lectures and take detailed notes and study consistently, you'll do fine. Rewatch the lecture videos to help you study, because it greatly helped me on the tests and reminds you of small details you might have missed before. Create study groups!!
Personally, I did not like her as a professor. I struggled a lot in her class and I wouldn't recommend her as a professor for a biology course. Her tests are way too specific and it is not clear on what we should know for the exams (which made it difficult to pass).
Attendance is not mandatory but will give graded assignments in class without warning. Tests are incredibly difficult. Class was in person but she would tell us to go home and watch a bunch of videos over the weekend/holiday breaks. Complained about how bad the test scores were when the questions were specific things mentioned briefly in videos.
BIO 251 is hard. It's a flipped classroom so she doesn't help too much in the actual face to face meetings. Her lectures online are pretty good and are thorough. Spelling counts so make sure to study hard! She does make you feel bad if you are not doing well in the class and says "we aren't trying". Just try your best and good luck!
Dr. L is a great lecturer! She has great analogies that help you remember things when you're studying. She can be blunt but she's really funny and clearly knows what she's talking about. She's accommodating for her students and I can tell that she genuinely wants her students to succeed. She's also straightforward about what will be on the tests.
This is a very difficult class, not many passed. But Rae gives you everything you need to pass you just actually have to put in the work to learn and memorize everything and be able to apply it. It is not easy material, and this class will spend 20 plus hours a week studying. She is not a bad teacher at all, she is very helpful
She generally is a good person but does not actually teach inside the class and just has us do worksheets that we don't get back. I really struggled with the way this class is set up and she did not help me at all. DO NOT take anatomy and physiology with her, trust.
I personally love her lectures and I enjoyed this class. It is a hard class in general, but everything on the exams comes from the notes (so it's not impossible). This semester was rough for multiple students but she gave opportunity to raise grades. Ask questions and study hard, you'll get an A.
Not ideal when Rae is the only one to teach A&P classes. Barely survived this class. She yelled at us weekly about our quiz and test scores. Information is hard to keep up. Take a ton of notes and study any time you can. She says to come to office hours yet she tells you to do better. SI helps so go to that.
Stay far away from Rae. She uses a flipped classroom structure, which I feel can be beneficial for some classes, but one as involved as A&P shouldn't be used. I spent hours watching the videos at home and retained little to nothing. She also tells us to spend 20-30 hours a week on this class, which is impossible. Take EXSC 201and save your grade.
1 unit quiz, 5 unit exam, possible pop quizzes, and 2 weeks in between each so a lot! She's very knowledgeable but vids she posts are lessons learned outside of class and lecture are activities (worth easy 10pts). Info in videos are always set up to be content in exams so don't bother studying the whole textbook. A bit passive aggressive w/ jokes.
Rae is a great person once you get to know her. The class is fairly difficult and you have to learn a lot of information (lab and lecture). Normally Rae does not lecture in class and you are expected to watch her pre class videos which can get lengthy. Expect to do an in class group assignment that you will get a few points for.
Hardcore and doesn't teach much
I knew a+p was going to be challenging but Rae does nothing but post video lectures that are years old and supposed to be watched before coming to class. She rarely lectures in class. Instead, she gives out group work worth nothing compared to the exams, which are very difficult.
A challenging class, but using resources like Quizlet, SI sessions, and unstuck AI for study prep can really help. Rae's teaching style takes some adjusting, but engaging with it pays off.
Best professor ever you just have to apply yourself and actually study. So knowledgeable and ready to work with you.
If you managed to survive 251 then 252 will be a breeze comparatively speaking. Rae actually lectures for 252 and does a good job of explaining things. The lab for this course is much easier and is mainly just group work with 2 exams that are APR only. Overall 252 is much better than 251.
Professor Labadie is such a fantastic professor, and she genuinely cares about the success of her students. She offers office hours for students to schedule and come in and will go over topics they are struggling with and encourage understanding. She is one of the most caring professors I have had.
