He is very helpful, and he wants you to pass. He will work with you in any way he can, and I would take him over again. I totally recommend him.
Though I did reasonably well in the class, I did notice that he picks favorites. I felt very pressured to use his exact idea instead of going with my original one. He held a very high standard that was difficult to achieve. A bit nit-picky. I did very well, but it was a definate challenge.
Professor Molina is the best teacher I've ever had. His teaching method is easy to follow. He gave us take-home quizes which were easy and very helpful for upcoming lectures. I had him for two classes and I enjoyed both. He requests the best of his students but that's the good thing. For those who are interested in ceramic, I recommend taking him.
He might seam hard but he's not. He will help you out in any project that you need help in. He is there to help you not tear you apart. and your project most of the time will turn out looking good.
Very nice instructor. He is very knowledgeable and willing to share that information with those willing to listen and learn. If you are taking this course as an easy elective you might reconsider. The professor expects you to be quite, respectful, follow instructions, and complete your assigned tasks. If you do that, you just might learn something.
Have you seen this guys work. He is one of the best artists I have seen, and he truly wants to make great artists out of each student. Highly recommend this prof.
Great Course. Even if not artistic. Learned alot. Easy A if you do the work. Great professor, very helpful. A++ Course and Instructor.
Ok Professor molina is the best teacher I have ever had he helps me to control my creativity but still letting me express myself through ceramics. I love the one on one teachings he works with you and helps you to achieve wonderful works of art in his class. I sugest if you have any interest at all in ceramics please take the course him. love ya!!!
Great professor, easy class, easy grade.
Dont bother with this guy. He lets you have no creativity. He is not worth taking this class with. A waste of your money.
he does not let you express yourself the way you would like and he is not very clear on his instructions for each assignment
He is a wonderful professor who is passionate about art and creativity. The issue comes about when students who for some reason think it is ok to talk on their phone in class and come in high as a kite start mouthing off. He does not stand for it. I am sure that any of the students that give him a negativve review are ONE OF THOSE. He was great
I was not very impressed with him because he will usually tell you how to do only a few steps to the project, walk off, then realize that you have been waiting for your next instructions. He sometimes even does part of the work for you. And he obviously works with children because he will sometimes treat you like one.
He is a nice guy, but not good as a teacher. He gets off topic A LOT!! When asked a question about specific things, he ends up not even answering the question. He makes his PowerPoints straight from the book and reads them, BORING. Expected to read and take notes from the book yourself. VERY UNORGANIZED!! Never gives assignments on time!
He is the only teacher at SE, otherwise take someone else. He doesn't answer email and does not really teach. He is very unorganized and is always late for class
Plays favorites with students! Treats his favorites like they're his best friends. All the other students he just berates, talks down to, insults, or just ignores completely. Will not answer your questions unless you're one of his favorites. The benefits of learning ceramics DO NOT outweigh the nightmare of dealing with this guy on a daily basis.
Excellent professor and very easy class. All tests are take home and answers are in the book, only way to fail this class is by being a lazy student. If you plan on taking this class and not showing up just take it online.
My god just awful. He is a stifler of creativity. If you have taken ceramics before I would suggest not taking his class because he is just going to deny you any creative leeway. He talked to use like we were children in a daycare. And my god if he didn't show pictures and talk about his family as if they were the best ing on earth. UGGGG
Love Ceramics, Dislike the teacher
Does not pay attention to the glazes or how the firing is done. Projects and glazes were neglected by him to the point of being ruined. They turned colors they were not supposed to, cracked, broke all together, were fired to hot for to long. Professor has favorites. He does not pay attention to the others in the class.
Love love love his class took him again for ceramics 2 you must take him he's awesome
Professor Molina was very professional. He made his instructions very clear. Alot of the information was over my head, but that's because I didn't know anything about art. He did try to accomodate the class, but still required our part in learning. In other words he isn't just going to give you an A. You have to earn it.
He is a very helpful teacher ! He makes his teaching clear and also repeats them over and over and over, but heâ??s just trying to be helpful to make you remember. HE GRADES SO EASY ON HIS TEST !!! Because itâ??s all take home test =] you get to use everything you need to .. i made an A PLUS in his class average. Instead of buying books, itâ??s clay. [:
very understanding of students needs. just let him know your need and he will help you.
Proffessor Molina is simply awesome. choose him & u wuld enjoy yourself
I enjoyed being in Professor Molina's class. he is very organized and clear. Thank you for taking the time to do Power Points so I can take notes while I waited for my book to arrive. Take notes, participate in class and you can not fail. EASY "A" (:
If you have any interest in art or ceramics, this is the biggest blow-off class you can take, extremely easy A. But if you enjoy a teacher who will return you emails, and allow you artistic freedom, this man is your worst nightmare. If you have a question regarding even your final grade, don't expect a reply... ever. It'll never come.
Waste of money & time. He is rude, unorganized, & berates you for any creative style. Honestly, what else is a student to expect from a "creative arts class?" He does not teach you anything about the types of materials or glazes & when something comes out ruined from being fired, if you ask what happened he tells you "I dont know" Ridiculous.
He was very helpful and let you make whatever you wanted and would even help to design it
Professor Molina is all right. He does not care when you show up as long as you show up. He is very social and that's what keeps the class interesting. He even lets you take a break halfway through class!
very boring lecture def. don't make a morning class :/ you WILL fall asleep.
You have to study and read the chapters to get the correct answers since the questions on the tests were so random and sometimes seemed like trick questions. Good thing the prequizs are all tests done at home. If you like to get responses from your professors you can forget about it, because he will never respond Overall it wasn't the best or worse
cool professor.
Professor Molina was an easy going kind of teacher. He really hates it when you have your cell phones out and will make put them up. Takes a 10 minute break during class. As far as quizzes he goes strictly by the book. YOU MUST READ THE CHAPTERS THOROUGHLY!!! Quizzes are worded kinda tricky. Mid-terms and finals are from your quizzes. EASY A!!
If you want to be talked down to like you are a child, this is your guy. The class is great, I love ceramics, but he makes the class highly intolerable. I disliked him for the amount of underhanded comments he always made to his students. Definitely cuts off any creativity. I don't recommend, but he's the only art teacher @ SE
Very unorganized, unclear on due dates, very inconsistent when putting work online. He also has the WRONG answers on the quiz and when I emailed him about it he did nothing, so it is almost impossible to do well on his quiz's, the book says one answer and he says another. DO NOT TAKE.
I did not like this class I am a little interested in art. But this is on a whole other level. He missed a hell of a lot of classes. He is not helpful to students at all. He is understanding if stuff happens in your life, other than that I won’t be taking him again. His lectures are lengthy and boring! He has no excitement nor interest in his job.
Only art teacher at SE, so far he has only missed 2 days off our class. Goes strictly by the book (but his quizzes can be tricky and DOES sometimes have wrong answers) He never answer back to any student emails, and can be rude when it deals to students talking back or using your cell phones, we all have a family that we need to stay in contact wit
I took Sculpture I because I needed an art credit& signed up late. I don't recommend taking this class unless you are an art major. You may not need a book, but for the supplies you spend about 150-250. Go to class, only way you get work done. There is a break and he is really nice if you do your work& don't play around.
Great Professor, easy class, great class if you love Ceramics/Pottery
Art Appreciation. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS FOR MAYMESTER. I've taken several Maymester classes and they are hard in general, but this guy just does too much. You read 2 chapters a day. Then you take 4 quizzes a day, and also go over 14 chapters you don't even do this in a normal semester. Worst teacher I've had in my two years at TCC
Hard teacher, a lot of quizzes. Studying a lot of stuff that is not important.Dont take him ever!
He is a really laid back teacher. He does give out quizzes almost every class so don't miss too much. Mid term and final were easy because the questions were straight out of the quizzes so make sure to save them because they'll come in handy
Great professor !
Great professor. He loves to talk about his wife and past experiences. His quizzes are straight out of power point and book. Tests are straight out of quizzes. Just do all discussions and assignments and you will be fine. Book is mandatory for discussions on blackboard. But in the end, he is great professor.
Class was easy, but don't expect him to answer emails. Basically, you pay for the online access and do the assignments. All the questions come from the text. The book is actually pretty interesting, but the teacher is not resourceful at all. I should just pay the computer to teach me.
I couldn't draw and now I can. I'd call it a success.
1301 was a super easy class. Literally all you have to do is pay attention to power points for the quizzes and that's it. His tests are his previous quizzes, so all you have to do is remember the old quizzes. He was a really nice guy and always worked with his students. If you want an easy A, take this class!
I had a lot of problems with this professor. He threatened to throw a guy's phone against the wall and break it. He's not clear on what he wants from our projects. Made us buy things we didn't use. Hasn't posted grades. I never complained about his projects, but always seemed to have a problem with me. There's no free art; can't draw what you want.
Mr. Molina throws little fits in class. Some days he is okay, then other days he just comes in to get mad. Like he's too busy working on his own stuff to pay attention to us. You get the idea he knows his stuff, but that doesn't help. Just stay out of his way and do the work.
This was my first class for college and it wasn't bad at all. The test are easy and he lets you use your notes and old quizzes (the test is based of the quizzes). Honestly just show up to class, take a couple of note, study for the quizzes. If you try in class you'll get an A.
I took him for my summer class, do the work and you get an A. Don't be disrupted or get on your phone, basic courtesy.
Easy class, there should be no reason why you shouldn't get an A. Tests come from previous quizzes, and those quizzes come straight out of the book. Bad thing about his teaching is that he doesn't reply to his emails, and posts assignments at the last minute. Despite that, good teacher, also do not use your cell during lecture.
Very helpful and available at office hours. The pieces that we make are actual items that you can use in daily living. Creating the pieces actually taught me how to be more aware of my tenderness abilities, which will most definitely come in handy once I enter into the nursing field.
He is very straight forward and simple with grading. The test is straight from the quiz's he assigns. Over all a simple class that you get to have fun in.
Tells you what he expects on the first day, makes learning Art History fun.
Amazing and wonderfully inspiring Professor, his lectures are clear and straightforward, the grading criteria is also clear-cut. He is very helpful as I messaged him a lot during the session and he has always responded with precise and insightful feedback. Do the work you get the grade. He has a suave cool artistic look that adds to his hotness.
From the first day, he's very organized. Takes time to explain the homework that is due and when it is due. His powerpoints go by fast, but as long as you follow with the book, you should be fine. His no phone rule helps focus.
good class
I took this teacher for an 8-week class and I enjoyed the class because he was easy and helped you when you need it. His quizzes are also easy because they are from the PowerPoints he gives (which he goes through quick so be ready to write quick or read ahead). Recommend to take because he is not that tough.
He is a very cool, down to earth teacher. Just do the work, points add up and get a great grade. Awesome class.
Amazing professor. Really helpful as I have messaged him a lot and he responded insightfully. Passing is guaranteed as long as you do the work. Attendance is not required but helps to get a better grade. HE also has a suave artistic look that adds to his hotness. Grading criteria is precise and well defined.
Mr molana is an amazing professor he provides resources to student, and when you read your textbook often and listen to review you should be in your A.
Professor Molina expects a lot from his students, which is good considering we are in college. His class is not difficult, you just have a lot of assignments that are easily passable, if you do the work. Also, he is super passionate about ceramics and I'm going to take him next semester for a studio course!
The class is somewhat easy, you just have to do the work!! There is A LOT OF ASSIGNMENTS, but if you do them your fine! Everyday is on a schedule, which is nice because you know exactly what you are doing every day of class.
He's helpful and the class in very interesting.
I took this class to get a credit out of the way but found myself being intrigued by the content given in this course. One note of advice, do NOT take out your phone in this class. Professor Molina, however, is very friendly and the course should be easy to pass If you read and study for the quizzes and tests.
Mr. Molina is the great professor. He is very intelligent and knows how to keep students Interested in his lectures. Would definitely recommend him.
he a good teacher
Best ceramics teacher ever. He is such a fun person and great teacher! Fair to everyone. I was so scared I didn't have the ability to do a good job. He takes his time to show you the right way to do things. I loved his class.
He is a great professor. Easy A if you come to class. Grading is clear. Went into this class knowing nothing about ceramics, he has taught me a lot. Always willing to help the students. Passionate about his job. Overall fun class.
Mr. Molina is a good professor easy class as long as you do the work. Hates when people are late and on their phones as well as when people talk during his lectures, but a fair teacher over all very passionate about his job.
Not to bad of a techer but he is a way better craft the lecture if u take him rake him for crafting and art appreciation
Professor Molina is so great at his craft. He shows you how to do the work and will continue to help you if you have questions, and I had many! :) I'm thinking of taking second part of ceramics with him. Come to class, do your work and be respectful and you will have a great semester!
Great instructor
Prof. Rafael Molina is a good teaches that many students like and respect. He always makes announcement on what will be done. every Mondays and Wednesday amazing lectures in which we watch video. he is always on time and may students Prof. Rafael Molina is very concerned students , and help have a good grade by making lectures easy.
Prof. Rafael Molina is a good teaches , he sympathies with students and gives them a chance to complete the course with A and B. He does give extra credit but make the lectures easy for students to understand. He does not give many quizzes . Also, he is very available ,8so students can mail him when they have any question.
Expect homework quizzes and tests , not doing homework will make u fail
Be quiz ready and homework ready ... Be able to take notes fast too
Professor Molina was very clear with his instructions and we used the textbook every class. You're bound to pass if you listen and take good notes.
Don't have cell phone in class!!!!
Good class & good teacher. Note taking is required but he allows them on test and quizzes. I would take him again.
Do all work
Great teacher and great class. Take good notes and you will do great. I recommend this prof. He is very helpful and always available.
He's a great instructor.
Worst professor I've ever had. I love ceramics and was excited to take this class but I learned nothing and wished I would have chosen any other art class. He is rude, and won't answers questions or emails, and never makes himself available for help. He even offered us extra credit to write a good review on this site. Don't take him!!!
Great instructor , checks his email and replies in a timely manner.
I liked this class, if you broke a ceramic piece that was in the kiln once, you could do some things to fix it and still make the piece turn out great!
One of the easiest classes I took in college.
Easy class if you listen & take notes.
Professor Rafaele is a great teacher he make the lectures fun he also let you use your notes and most professor don't even that and I would takr his class again just because he was very nice and cool..
Don't use phone in class!
He is an awesome teacher. When you do need help he is their. We take a lot of quizzes but he let's us use notes so it's very helpful .As long as you show up you should be able to pass this class.
When you do need help he is their. We take a lot of quizzes but he let's us use notes so it's very helpful .As long as you show up you should be able to pass this class. great professor would deff. Take this class again.
Mr. Molina has the entire semester planned out and sticks to that plan. I had a couple issues with a question of the technology here and there an dnd he was andndalways ready to address andndalways resolve my concerns. Highly recommended.
Professor is cool. You have to read to pass the quizzes. The test questions come straight from the quizzes. He drops like 5 of the lowest quizzes, which are helpful. Easy A, I would say, if you read. Coming from a person who hates reading, this class is actually interesting. I only got a B+ because I was lazy and didn't want to do anything.
he is a great teacher. he will work with you as long as you work with him.
As far as online classes go, this one was great! Same lesson style every week, easy to comprehend. There is one museum assignment at the end of the semester, but even that you could do online, if needed. Assignments posted on Monday and kept online until Sunday. Ideal online professor for someone with a busy life. Professor is helpful and present.
Great online class! Everything is very well planned out. Quizzes are easy if you read the book. Questions come straight from the book. Very interesting and always there to respond to questions! If needing an art class take this one!!
The best class ever!! there are 25 chapters, and we did quizzes on every chapter after lecture. Easy questions straight from what he taught and straight from the book. Easy A if you do your work. All I can urge all the students is .... Please for respect of your instructor put your devices away when the teacher tells you to do so!!
Mr. Molina is a great professor. He is available to all and help students to succeed.
Very easy and fair class! Mr. Molina is so nice and friendly every day, and he just wants your undivided attention and respect so you can thoroughly enjoy the world of ART! :) Easy A!
Mr. Molina is a very good professor. I took ceramics 1 and it was a lot of fun. He explains very well and always asks if anyone needs help. Very good professor. ARTS 2346
Great speaker and very helpful with informing the class
He's really strict about phones and getting up to use the restroom. He can be easy but confusing because you will never know if you're having a quiz at the beginning or end of class.
He's a overall good teacher but can be very strict about phones and takes things to the extreme when you have your phone out. Complete all assignments and extra credit.
I really enjoyed taking Mr. Molina's ceramic class and i am looking forward to taking ceramics 2 next semester!! Loved all the projects we got to work on!
Took the class online. He gives quizzes after each chapter and you will have a comprehensive test based on 4 chapters. Very quick to respond to emails (within the day or even a few hours). He drops 5 quizzes (out of 25 quizzes; each 15 questions) at the end of the semester. Excellent professor overall.
Enjoyed taking professor Molina's class, the work was not hard, and lectures were interesting! No reason to get below an A!
I had a really hard time with this instructor. His projects were very strict and if you wanted to try something else he wasnt interested in hearing any ideas. Don't take him if you like art.
He is a very cool teacher. He respects his students so try and respect him also. He is not too strict and very understanding. I would take him over and over and over again. Just try and keep up with assignments and lectures. Always ask questions and don't be scared to give your opinion. Just be cool and you'll be fine. He's really Awesome.
I find Molina to be an overall bad teacher. He doesn't put up the powerpoints cause he wants his students to buy the $85 access code. He doesn't accept students having important calls; he believes his class is more important. He's very rude to his students even arguing with them about using the bathroom. I'm dropping his class very soon.
Worst teacher I ever had!!!
I have enjoyed having Rafael Molina as my Arts Appreciation instructor. He is very thorough and direct. All you need to do is listen, (because he teaches straight from the book), Answer 2 discussion questions and create a journal entry for each chapter. I would recommend his class to anyone interested in taking an Art Appreciation class!
Sets high standards as expected at college level. Wish I had him in high school! Would love to have him as a Professor in another course as well.
Easy A! I wish someone had mentioned this when i was looking at his reviews but i figured it out my self. Must read every chapter, 1 Journal, 2 discussion questions, and take the Quiz. 4 Exams and they are EXACTLY like the Quizzes. I literally wrote down all the exam quizzes down and got 50/50 points on my exams. Good Luck and yall are Welcome!!
Professor Molina has a real passion for art and obviously cares a lot about teaching and his students. He went to extra effort to make the knowledge stick, through demonstration and review. Read the book before you come to class, and know the quizzes because they are the exact questions as the test. I would definitely take his class again.
Professor Molina has a real passion for art and obviously cares a lot about teaching and his students. He went to extra effort to make the knowledge stick, through demonstration and review. Read the book before you come to class, and know the quizzes because they are the exact questions as the test. I would definitely take a course from him again.
Professor Molina is a very nice Professor. He is very fair to his student. Although there is a lot of work in his course, it adds a lot of value to the class and really builds on the material. I was not exited when told there was a mandatory museum visit, however it was actually kind of fun to go. Overall Professor Molina is a great professor
Great ceramics class, but for ceramics I you must follow his instructions on how and what he wants. Your creativity will be saved for Ceramics II.
He is a good instructor, attendance is mandatory which to me is a goos thing. I took the maymester class, pretty intense but, it worth everything. The only thing I don't like is the online acess code you have to buy.
WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. Be careful what you read on here, he gives extra credit if you write a good review.
Good teacher. He has certain rules for class like having the book and no electronics in class unless specified, but he is still not very hard. As long as you do the homework (a lot, but simple) and a few outside assignments, you will pass. Not very hard at all. He prefers you attend but not required. Grades on a curve. Nice guy to be around.
This is the worst class I have had at TCC. He He flips out if he sees your phone. Very rude and disrespectful
Eh. He's an okay professor. Sometimes he's nice when he wants to be. He gets mad when you don't ask him for help but when you do, the way he talks to you makes it seem like he thinks you're stupid. It's a pretty easy class but I would not take him again and wouldn't recommend him.
I took this course online during the summer, so I don't know how the professor is personally. MUST have the textbook. Do NOT procrastinate, the work will pile up and become a pain to complete by due date. Test questions were exactly the same as quizzes. Final exam-go to an art museum and pick various works and write your thoughts about them.
Everything is worth 2 points besides test and museum Visits . You don't have to show up he don't care. Does not want you on your phone or eating only time you can get on phone is group work and test if you eat or get on your phone he will stop the classes tell you put it away or leave he gets mad if you step out the class to take a call
he is grading the home work without reading any word, his tests so easy. but,he said : i will change the tests to comprehensions next semester.
This can be an easy A if you show up and do the work. The test questions are taken from the quizzes and the only other major grade is a museum visit due at the end of the semester. His lectures are boring- he just reads from the powerpoint and book- and he gets upset over the smallest things. He is changing his attendance policy to mandatory.
Teacher forgot classes started & that he needed to give an assignment until the week of finals. Gave assignment we could not turn in the way he wanted due to file size made by required images. Fails to respond to communications. Refuses to accept work turned in by deadline. Has been reusing the same quiz for years and on day one i was 1 year late
Very easy class if you show up, do your work and show some respect towards the professor. The assignments are straightforward from the book, which are quite easy and quick to do (if you just glance over the book tbh). Goes through the entire book and tests come verbatim from the quizs. Really values respect, so easily annoyed by phones and snacking
Loved this class! Very Easy! He's great at giving feedback, All test were identical to quizzes. If you study the quizzes you will pass! A museum visit was required but you have all semester to complete. Great Teacher!
Professor Molina is wonderful! He truly cares about you learning. The class is easy if you attend and pay attention to his PowerPoint. I would like to further my education in art due to this class. It went by way to fast in my summer session.
Okay I will tell you all that this professorss class is easy. When I took it the material and quizzes are a breeze if you keep up. But like most comments say, there are no phones allowed, he does give breaks though. I did get a D due to not keeping up sometimes but other times he doesnt keep up with grades. But easy B-A dont be intimidated.
Overall this class was cake. Provided chapter quizzes (not a grade) & let you copy the questions and answers and use on the tests. Can be condescending & sometimes takes the class a bit too seriously. Attendance isn't a big deal, he states often that he won't drop you for not showing up. Will stop class to call you out for being on phone or eating.
Good Professor. The class is easy if you do all the art lessons and take all 5 Test!
This class was so easy. Do all your work and you will be fine. He doesn't like when you're on your phone or eat in his class, but overall so easy!!
Took him for ceramics spring semester and loved it. He is very relatable and funny. One bad thing is he took forever to grade but it was fine because I got an A. Definitely a good guy and is willing to help you with more than just ceramics.
Never heard his voice or saw his face. But after a couple semesters have gone by I realize I wish more professors were like him! The workload is manageable. The instructions for each assignment are very clear, the study guides are very direct. You just have to read and follow directions - email him with questions and he will respond. 5 stars!
