The compsci department sucks and this intro course is terribly structured. Can't blame the grading schemes on the professor that gets assigned to the course. Given that, he still actually teaches, pulls up powerpoints & shows he cares. Had him with another prof and Raffi was the reason I showed up to class for the second half of the semester.
He just reads the slides prepared by some other professor. Sometimes, he reads the slides so fast, and the class ends in 30 mins. He doesn't take attendance, so you won't miss anything if you skip classes. His class is difficult because basically, you're on your own.
The way this class is setup is just poor. He reads slides that another professor created and the test is much harder than any of the labs.
Ask him in what format the midterm will be, and he'll tell you that he doesn't know. All he does is reading someone else's slides, and they call it teaching. You will also be in trouble with CSCI 136 if you take his class because you will not a learn a thing from his lectures unless you already know some programming.
Stay away from his class if you're not advanced in programming. His lectures are boring, exams are difficult, no reviews.
The textbook is great. 1 frustration - Sometimes there are confusing questions on quizzes/exam. Ex: Everyday words becomes terminologies. For instance, reading means to only look at physical text. Don't apply the other definitions such as "to understand/interpret". Another one is generalization. Basic def of these english words don't exist
The professor does very little to facilitate the class as most of it is very textbook based. He reads off of slides and regurgitates them in class, offering little to no explanation.
I took his reactive programming class, i was apprehensive as it is a relatively complex subject, but professor Khatchadourian laid out the material very clearly and was very responsive to questions. The final project is very open and the professor was interested in seeing effort and that i learned something while doing it. Excellent experience.
Its amazing how this professor said that "most of the stuff you learn in college wont be used in real life" yet proceed to give us the most useless, overcomplicated assignment. And to make it worse he gives us barely any time to do them. Very harsh and tough grader.
Rate my professor should allow rating of 0/5 for professor like Raffi. You learn more by not coming to class. Has zero passion teaching. He does not want to answer anything about his unclear assignment, so if you dont understand it, its your personal issue. Very unorganized, 3 weeks in and we just got our blackboard. If you want to learn avoid him
first, he does not know how to teach, he gives nonsense, hard and useless assignments. for the assignments even if you do them correctly you will not get full credit. he always says do not talk to me or send an email. if the student asks a question during the class he will answer it wrong or he will say talk to me after the class.TAs are useless
I've never had a professor so inconsiderate and unnecessarily complicated before. Most of the students are miserable, but we have no choice. He assigns insanely complex projects only less than a week before the due date. He makes errors on them and won't even give an extension.
I think the real issue with Raffi Khatchadourian is his package. I’ve waited serveral times outside of class to get a glimpse of his print. I even tried following him into the bathroom. But every time I came close it appeared to me he’s lacking. And it’s this lack of pipe that I feel is hindering his ability to teach.
I feel like pulling teeth is easier then getting any clear information out of him, in regards to the midterm/projects/ect. If you told me that this guy was a new sub I would believe you because he teaches like he has no idea what's going on. If you want to take a class where someone reads off of slides, poorly, then take thi guy's class.
I have never meet someone so insufferable in my life. This guy will assign projects and only give a week to complete them only to start making corrections to the files we have to work on half way through. How is it that you can hold on to a project for so long and still mess up this badly? Super conceded. A really a waste of 3 credits and my time.
Now imagine this, you are given a project thats 10+ files long. Just to read and understand the project will take you couple of hours to read thanks to Raffi's incompetent instruction. This professor would only give you 6 days to complete. And to add cherry on the cake, he doesnt even post the full file until 3 days before its due.
If not giving a damn about students was in dictionary a picture of this man would show up. Raffi shows no desire to teach students instead he prefers to rush through slides as he uses his catchphrase “think about it”. Also gives no time for projects as reward. Just wonderful.
It is a crime that Raffi still has 2.1/5, he deserves at most 0.1/5. Garbage professor. Raffi if you read this, I hope you dont teach anymore, class are 70% empty in early MARCH. Guess now we all know why you got fired from Apple. In all honesty if you want to experience depression, attend his lecture. Consider retiring.
If you read this review, I will tell you now that Raffi is not a professor, he is a con artist. It is no secret that Hunter CS department have allergy on hiring competent professor, but Raffi managed to top the worst of the worst. He is the true definition of fake it till you make it, but he is still faking it.
Rafi. You must hear this a lot, but I am abolutely going to be the next person to say that you undeniably have to be one of the most precious people I have ever come to know in my entire life. I found myself two years ago, diving into Computer and striving to discover what motivated you to be so cool. edit: nvm he gave me bad grade on project. 1/5
Hunter has a horrible CS department but Raffi takes the cake. Unintelligible directions for assignments with very short time. He doesn’t teach. His dynamic of forcing students to figure it out and “You should ask your classmate”.The whole class doesn’t even know what is going on. Nothing makes sense and I am paying for this? So disgusting
If you are trying to understand what people with depression feel then feel free to take this class. If not, stay away :)
Awful professor, lecture class went from being quite full the first day to being nearly empty on some days. Professor reads straight from slides and often stumbles over his own words, allowing some students to fix and correct him on multiple occasions. Unreliable in terms of dates for assignments, multiple errors in assignment files.
He and his TA are so bad, all the time the students find a lot of mistakes in his nonsense assignments. And if you find a good rate it's just from his TA, don't let them fool you. Avoid taking him
Best professor you will ever have. He's so lovely and even handsome. - Fidel
I don't see what the fuss is about. Raffi is a great prof. He explainshis assignments properly and will help as much as you ask for. He gives more than enough time to do hws and exams. His ability to break down difficult concepts is second to none. All negative reviews are cuz some can't do an easy project. Idk what to say to these people
He reads from the slides and doesn't actually explain. It is so easy to lose him while he is speaking. He seemed like a genuine guy, but he is just a terrible professor. It's easy to point fingers at students when they get bad grades but bad professors rarely get accounted for that. He may be a great programmer but he just can't teach.
By far the best cs prof at hunter. He’ll literally spoon feed you answers on tests, spoon feed answers for projects and give lots of time to complete them. He’s also very nice and caring. He’ll listen to your concerns very carefully and adjust the class policies accordingly. Professors like him are what’s keeping colleges relevant
Professor Raffi is a decent professor for hunter. Just come to class and ask questions on stuff you don't know about.
My gratitude to you for all you have done, which I will never forget. I truly appreciate you and your time you spent helping me in many occasions. Thank you very much for the course. I enjoyed every minute of your lecture as well as your marvelous sense of humor.
He is a great teacher and what makes him stand out from the others is that he has industry experience unlike other professors who are just stuck in academia their entire lives.
Raffi really raised the bar of teaching standards. His lectures are beyond Harvard level stuff. Trust me, once you attend one lecture you’ll never miss another. Also, he really cares about his students and is very understanding of their situations. Itslike hes your best friend. Do take him if you want easy A while learning hard stuff in fun ways
There are no words to describe the brilliance of this man. He really is a blessing. His teaching level is very high, babies down the toughest of concepts to the point they become pieces of cake. He also loves his students. He's always friendly with them and helps them more than they ask for. His class is also very organized. You'll never be lost.
Why can't professors teach like YouTube mentors? Whatever he talks about in class, I have to learn on YouTube. He just doesn't do the job right. It must be really easy to make money as a professor. Just read from the slides and make students fall asleep in class.
The harsh reality is, half of the students can't accept the fact that this is a 300 level course. They want to be spoon-fed and most of their "problems" with him are all opinion based. The assignments could be done in 2 hours, so the issue not the profs. His lecture's aren't awful compared to Hunter standards. He is knowledgeable on the subject.
Batch of low effort students have been whining since the early cs classes. I have never seen them not complain about a class. If you hate it so much why not transfer? If you are some excellent coders, who want best of the best professors go to ivy league. Whined about every exam and every homework since the start. Try to learn something for once.
I think its clear a troll is present (not the professor I think). Anyways, its a hard class but idk, he doesn't strike me as a bad guy. its hard for sure and I'm struggling a lot but I think its making me a better coder lol. My only suggestion is a bit more time for project 3 forward-its stressful but a cake walk was never expected. its a grind :)
He’s honestly the best prof at hunter. His passion for the subject is crystal clear as he’s very enthusiastic when giving lectures. His lectures are better than what any Ivy League prof has to offer. As a person, there is no one better than him. Hes helpful, caring and full of love. These are the type of profs that’ll help you advance in life
I would recommend Professor Katchadourian because he is a very thoughtful instructor. He gives a lot of great criticism, but isn't condescending. He is also very encouraging and makes herself available to his students
Dr. Raffi Khatchadourian is amazing! He's very informative, inteligent, and funny. Some of the work is hard, but Computer Science is hard. I loved the way he taught the class. I would recommend him to anyone!
Don’t listen to the good reviews. Everyone has their opinions but the FACT is that he made a long project (with many errors that he had to fix) due on the same day as the midterm. On top of that, he only gave us a week to work on it. That’s all you need to know.
"Why am I balding" ~Fidel
Don’t listen to the 1s. These are the people who made it to 335 by cheating in all prior csci classes, so now they can’t do simple stuff and putting blame on raffi. He is actually the ideal model of what a prof should be. Explains concepts thoroughly, cares about students and their concerns and always fair on policies, assignments and exams
Any ratings lower than 3 are from students who want everything spoon fed. Raffi knows his stuff and is preparing everyone for real world experience. His projects are really fun. They can be a challenge for some, but if you follow his lecture slides, you’ll be up to date and won’t have any trouble. His tests are fair too. Idk y some are moaning
Hes very fair with his assignments and tests. If you want a class where you implement easy/useless stuff with a lot of help from people that’ll spoon feed you, then this isn’t the prof for you. If you want a challenge that increases your skills so you come out better prepared to face the harsh reality of the industry, then this prof is for you
The guy is a genius. Your college experience will always have a void in it if you dont take his class. I highly recommend you take him and attend his magical lectures that’ll have you amazed at the beauty of comp science. Such is the power of his lectures. If you want to fall asleep listening to lectures tho he’s not the prof your looking for
I loved taking his class. His lectures are outstanding. He knows exactly when to give extra detail and motivates ideas well with examples.
He is the sweetest and best person in the world! when he crosses the street, it's like negative 5 black cats. his lectures are incredibly well thought out and clear. he practices them before giving them, which is something that most tenured professors wouldn't care enough to do.
Excellent lectures. His algebraic geometry class is the best math class I've taken.
Professor is a really great teacher. We always enjoy his classes and he's very good at teaching. He's also super nice and we all have so much respect for him.
He is not just one of the best professors I have had, he one of the best people I have had the fortune of meeting. He is always jovial and friendly, tailors his courses to his students, and goes out of his way to make you understand the material. He is accessible outside of class, and a person you can approach with any question you have.
Awesome professor! Learned the names of all students in our class of 150. Super accessible in homework sessions or office hours.
A pretty awesome dude in general! Once I won some chocolate bars in his class after we had a competition to see who could answer the most swe trivia questions. He really cares about math and his lectures are great! Make sure you do the practice tests.
If you are thinking of an accessible engineering course, definitely take it with him, especially if you want to hone on your skills. He is without a shadow of a doubt amongst the worlds top scholars in his field. Throughout the year, he always made references to Jobs and others to place the material into context.
As far as I recall, there was not even ONE time over the past two years when I left from his class not smiling or not looking forward to the next class, even on days when we had exams! It is easy to say that he remains to be the best professor I came across at CUNY! I really look forward to taking more classes with him over the next couple of years
Raffi K. always goes out of his way to assist his students and is a model of how every professor should be. It is also amazing how he remains in his office until around 11:30 pm nearly on a daily basis! His doors are always open for his students and he encourages us to use office hours if we have any issues. He made us fall in love with CS!
Mr. Raffi teaches the content in a very engaging manner and you get so much out of every class. The feedback you receive throughout this course is very clear and constructive. It was my favorite class this semester since you observe a variety of data structures from across the World. Best way to learn programming in a stress-free and safe space.
Unlike other classes where teachers try to cram as much content into the course, his flexible teaching manner sets him apart from all other instructors I've had at Hunter. What also makes him stand is that he is a well-regarded intellectual in the field and is known for his research. Literally a moving encyclopedia of Data Structure knowledge.
Dr. Khatchadourian worked tirelessly to ensure that we all understood the details and vocab associated with the pieces we read. He taught us the power of interpretation where certain pieces of literature could be analyzed in a plethora of ways. Its amazing how creative hes and we all thoroughly enjoyed the coding workshop he set up. The BEST!
Put your skills to the test out on the field with Professor Khatchadourian!!! Hes been in the pickup field for a little over 2 decades now and hes super experienced!!! He oversaw my internship in the most professional manner! Love this guy!!
Was an Electives i receive a C in Its Class but he is Excelent Professor. Is very though The Class he explain extremely well but is a though grader. He has and Excelent Personality . I take the course as an Electives because im not from the School of Engineering. You have to Work very Hard.
I had a lot of fun in this class! Rafa got me interested in digital electronics, which I previously did not care much for. He's always enthusiastic and definitely knows how to teach.
Professor Raffi Khatchadourian is an excellent Professor of Computer Software Configuration Item, at Junter College. He put a lot of works but the course is very interesting. Cellular, Mechanics and Structures put your best efforts if you want to learn .
Great lecturer. MAT137 is hard, but he explains concept pretty well.
Pros Approachable and helpful. He explains things very clearly and he is happy to re-explain things and answer any questions. He's relatively informal and I find that this contributes to putting students at ease and keeping things interesting. Cons If you prefer regimented, formal teachers and a fast pace in class, look elsewhere
Prof. Khatchadourian is easily one of the best instructors at hc. The class is filled with TONS of writing assignments, but I've received some of the best feedback from her. She puts in so much time and effort in her lectures and feedback, and it's clear that she genuinely cares about her students. He definitely helped me become better.
Awesome professor. Dr. Khatchadourian is kind-hearted and brilliant who is well-respected by everyone
Raffi is an absolutely spectacular lecturer. I have never had a professor or teacher that has genuinely inspired me and made me excited to continue my academic journey in the same way that he did. Such an incredible lecturer and an even better person. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him, you must take it.
An engaging and inspiring teacher. His lectures are clear and he makes you understand why learning the material matters.
The most inspiring professor at college. Brings in real material into every problem and is the most encouraging, approachable, funny lecturer - he encourages everyone to apply AI to benefit the world/social good.
Raffi Khatchadourian is doing amazing things with CS109. HE's so clear, interesting and helpful. The material is tough, but it's rewarding to do such interesting psets and have such great lectures. He's the BEST!
Great teacher, thanks to whom I fell in love with coding and computers again. Very well presented, with plenty of real life abstraction, humour and language that even non-tech students will understand. Great job - if there would be more teachers like Mr. Khatchadourian, world would be much nicer place...
He is one of the best professor i have ever seen in my life . His teaching is simply awesome. The way he explained each and every concept is excellent . I completed the entire CS106A lectures in two days .He knows how to attract students certainly not by giving em chocolates but through his teaching skills .. I love you Mr K, you changed my life.
I discovered this class on itunesU and got hooked. He has a very engaging style and is interesting to listen to. I wish my university had people like this!
Raffi is a bright and interesting lecturer who keeps his audience in mind. My only criticism is his use of pet phrases (e.g. Rock On) which amuse at first but become tiresome by the 10th lecture.
Hi,Im Aravinth, from india, I take this opportunity to thank Mr.Raffi Khatchadourian for his extra-ordinary work and efforts.,and thanks to the people who brought this great course out to the world to .edu, and let other people to enjoy the finest education in the world. I have a Million thanks to sahami. he will make you like CS.:) great person :)
One of my fav profs of all time. Textbook needed if you don't have any CS or Java experience but otherwise the class is generally pretty easy. Lectures are recorded.
The 1 ratings are from people who want it handed on a silver platter. Raffi already makes things so easy with his simple projects and tests and they still whine so much. Also raffis lectures are the best, they areeasy to understand. Assignments are based on the lectures, so if u dk how to do his assignments, chances r u weren’t paying attention
Apparently most of the 1 ratings are actually from a group 3 friends who all happened to suck at simple projects nd r on the verge of dropping out. Do not listen to them. They made up most of the stuff. Prof raffi is a really good prof and a kind hearted person. He goes above and beyond when helping students. I strongly suggest u take his class
He’s a great prof and his lectures are very clear. U won’t need to read textbook or watch YouTube vids if u attend his lectures. Absolutely no self teaching is needed. Also his projects are the best. He makes them by himself and makes sure they are easy to do with clear instructions. Other profs copy vague projects from internet, but not raffi
My favorite prof. He makes the class so easy with his amazing lectures. I was very scared before coming to 335 cuz I knew there’s tough topics in it and Im not generally good at cs. But raffi helped me improve and took me to the next level. He dedicated a lot of time to help me during office hours. I thank him for reigniting my interest in cs.
He’s one of the most helpful people I’ve ever met. He really wants his students to do well and succeed in life. Hes patient in answering questions and will make sure your confusions are cleared before moving on to next topic. He’s also really hard working, comes to hunter early in the morning and leaves around midnight.
What separates him from the rest of the professors is how much effort he puts into his craft. Most profs are lazy and put the burden of learning on the students. Not raffi tho. He’ll make sure you won’t have to self study by delivering top class lectures. It’s professors like him holding down colleges from falling apart
He’s probably the best cs prof at hunter. He’s a great teacher and also a really nice person in general. You should take him!
He’s honestly the best. As others have pointed out, his lectures are extraordinary. His projects are very fun and you could prolly use them in your resumes. The cherry on top is how understanding he is of students situations. 10/10 prof!
I honestly don’t get the 1 ratings. You have to be a different kind of special to not like his class or fail his class. He makes things so easy. I reckon he can teach rocket science to toddlers, his lectures are that good. Also his projects and tests are very fair. No tricks in his classes. A generational prof
Allahuma sali ala muhamadinwa ala ali muhamad. Kama sallaita ala ibrahima. Wa ala ali ibrahima.Inaka hamidun majid. Allahuma barik ala Muhamadin wa ala ali Muhamad. Kama barakta ala Ibrahima wa ala ali Ibrahima Inaka hamidun majid
Professor Raffi knows his stuff and knows how to communicate those ideas clearly so students can understand the topics very easily. He’s definitely among the best at hunter
How is this amazing prof getting so much hate? It’s a shame. He makes things super easy. Idk what more he can do to please these people
There are not enough words to describe how great this professor is, so I’ll just end it here
I don’t see what the fuss is about. Raffis lectures are great, he’s a really nice person and his assignments are fair with clear cut instructions. If you can’t handle his assignments (for which he literally spoon feeds you answers) then maybe you should change to arts major
Only reason I haven’t dropped out yet is cuz of Dr Raffi. All other classes filled with lazy profs who give no assistance for assignments and their lectures are piss poor to say the least. They really need some lessons from Dr Raffi. Raffis lectures, assignments and his helpful side give me hope for humanity
I hope you fail your midterm Fidel Ojimba, your survey sucks. Keep crying!
Whoever this Fidel dude is needs to stop with his survey drama. Not raffis fault you dk basic stuff
As others have mentioned, his lectures are top tier. No other hunter professor can break down difficult concepts the way he does. He’s also very fair with the assignments and tests. His personality is the cherry on top.
A kind man who’s willing to help you through the most difficult circumstances. Professors nowadays lack this human side and only come for the paycheck. Raffi? Nope. He teaches because it’s his passion and that’s what separates him from the rest
Most lenient professor ever. Take him, you’ll get an easy A!
LOL these smartasses that rate 5.0 need to STFU! Nobody gives a shit if you're smart af and good at coding, these people self-learn and probably never experienced this crappy teacher before.
It’s hilarious how people can’t do his simple assignments and come crying here
Easiest prof you’ll ever take, highly recommend
Don’t trust the 5 star reviews. Fake af
I’m pretty bad when it comes to computers and coding, never got above a C in previous cs classes. But Dr raffi is such a good professor. It’s the first cs class where I was able to get higher than a C. He helped me a lot during his office hours and went above and beyond what’s expected of a professor. Best professor ever!
He’s a really good teacher. Knows how to break down the difficult concepts so that everyone understands them. You should take him
He made this 400 level course feel like a 100 level one. It’s not that we didn’t go over the hard stuff, it’s just that his lectures are so good you’ll understand everything in one go. You have to take his class to actually see how good of a prof he is
He’s a genius. He knows his stuff and communicates them very well to students. He’s also understanding of students situations. One time a student had some family issues and couldn’t submit a project on time. He ended up extending the due date of the project by 10 days for the whole class.
I was on the verge of quitting cs and switching to arts. But thanks to professor Khatchadourian, I retained my passion for cs. He helped me a lot during office hours and convinced me to stick to cs. He’s not just a great prof, but also a great human being
I honestly dk how he has so many 1s. I’m assuming it’s some troll like many comments point out. Because raffi was the best prof at hunter. His reputation was really high.
He knows how to make his lecture interesting m. Usually I skip classes when attendance isn’t mandatory. But I attended almost all of his lectures. Takes a special prof to make students feel so engaged during class
He’s really nice. Got me an internship at apple (where he used to work formerly).
He’s very knowledgeable. U’ll get to learn a lot from him. In case u didn’t know, he used to work at apple formerly. He’ll give u a lot of info and train u in a way that’ll help u get into faang companies. U should def take him, it’ll make your path to the tech world much smoother than if you take other profs who never worked at faang
Idk what the 1s are talking about. Maybe they took another raffi khatchadourian. The one I took tho was a blessing. He’s going to be the light in your packed schedule.
He’s so sweet and generous, and a really good teacher in general.
I’m not sure what’s going on with all the 1s but from my experience raffi was a top class prof. Most of the 5 ratings summarized his qualities perfectly
Think raffi should teach intro to cs. Too often people get stuck with some boring prof in those classes and as a result quit cs. If raffi teaches intro cs he can help beginners see what cs is really about in interesting ways. I’m sure they’ll see cs as a fun sector of raffi were to teach them
Do not listen to the 1s, they’re literally from a group of 3 students who can’t do basic stuff and want raffi removed. Raffi is a great professor. Most students loved him and would highly recommend taking him
He’s really good, professor of dreams. Words can’t describe how good he is, only taking his class can.
Don’t understand the 1s, it’s either trolls or students who took him ages ago. I took his class in 2019 and lemme tell you he was the best of the best! He’s really dedicated to cs. He treats everyone like his own family member, so caring. And his lectures are superb. Haven’t seen another hunter prof with lectures this good
Easiest class I’ve ever taken, thanks to this amazing prof
He’s very approachable for a professor. His office hours are very long, which shows how helpful and caring he is.
What impresses me the the most are his lectures. They’re so good , there’s very rarely students who ask for clarifications when he’s going over the stuff. Very very clear lectures
He helped me a lot with the final project. I was able to put it in my resume and it took me a long way. I’m currently a software engineer at apple. Glad I could follow the footsteps of professor Khatchadourian. He’s my role model. He knows the in an outs of faang, if you want a successful career in tech and your in hunter, you got to take him
Compared to other cs profs at hunter, hes a diamond among stones. Im pretty weak when it comes to coding, only reason I picked the major was cuz of the financial side of it, and so it’s clear I hated coding. But professor raffi was able to convey the course in such a manner that I was engaged throughout the whole sem. I loved cs from there on.
He is very knowledgeable. Its no wonder he was swe at apple. You’ll learn a lot in his classes. The difference in quality between him and professors who don’t have industry experience really shows. I believe its this faang experience that makes his lectures so good. From now on, cs professors should only be those that have industry experience
Raffi makes you see cs from a different light. You’ll never be bored of cs again after taking him.
Taking raffi for a capstone course pretty much guarantees success in the tech world. He’ll apply the finishing touches and let you know exactly how to apply the stuff you’ve learned prior to taking this class in the real world. I’m doing pretty good now as a software developer, and honestly raffi played a big part in that.
His teaching ability is insanely good. What’s even better is his personality. He has a really good connection with the students, which helps the class move smoothly
Personally I think his lectures are ok, not as good as some people are pointing out. Maybe it’s cuz I’m a bit slow when it comes to cs. But yes he’s very caring and knows how to connect with the students . That’s all a student can ask for. A prof who sympathizes with their situations and makes policies accordingly
Goated prof. He’s just perfect in every way. Good humor, good teaching skills and fair with tests and assignments and deadlines.
I’ll never know how a prof can be this good. You have to take his class to actually believe how good he is. I doubt there’s any at hunter college better than him
Not taking a good teacher in these early stages of cs can be the difference between dropping out of cs or staying in cs. Raffi did a great job making things easy and interesting. If I didn’t take him, I may have dropped out of cs as I found 127 hard and boring. But thanks to raffi, my interest in cs was awakened
U can tell he knows his stuff when he speaks. He knows how to get students to understand the hardest of topics in little to no time. Asignments and tests were a breeze. He’s also a really good human being. I suffer from clinical depression and he noticed I was off mood during one office hour. He gave me some encouraging words and they stuck by me
His lectures were top notch. He’s pretty much one of them YouTube lifesaving teachers, except he does it in an actual class instead of YouTube. He’d def go viral if he were to open a cs YouTube channel. His ability to explain tough concepts is unmatched
All of these one star reviews from the past few days say the same things. Spoon feeding, talking about how great his lectures are, calling students stupid for not liking him. The material isn’t hard, he’s just a bad prof. And people saying he’s accessible and approachable? He literally told our class that we can’t email him at all lol
My favorite professor. Only one who made me feel like I wasn’t wasting my time in college
You’ll get to learn a lot from him with the highest of efficiency.
He’s really helpful. Helped me make a project that Microsoft was impressed by and as a result I’m now a swe at Microsoft. There’s a really good chance you’ll succeed in the tech industry if you take him
His classes are stress free. You won’t need to spend a lot of time behind learning the stuff, going to his lectures is enough. His lectures are so good. On top of that, if you have any issues and can’t submit an assignment or take a test, then it’s very easy to get him to postpone due dates and stuff. Really nice prof and person in general
Some people messed up on the midterm and are now blaming raffi. Do not listen to these people. Raffi is a gem. His tests are clear and easy for most people. A few people spamming 1s doesn’t change how good of a prof raffi is.
After taking the midterm and seeing how he went over it, I can confirm he’s a really fair prof. Thank you raffi for the easiest midterm of my life!
Words can’t describe how thankful I am to have taken his class. Thank you raffi for such an amazing experience!
Must take professor if your a cs major at hunter. You’ll get to learn a lot of useful stuff that other cs profs won’t be able to tell you and that’s because raffi has industry experience at apple.
Heres the deal. U either take a risk trusting the 5s or dodge him trusting the 1s. If u trust the 1s, ur potentially missing out on an amazing experience like the 5s say. If u trust the 5s u dont have anything to lose. Cuz if he’s a bad prof, then it wouldnt matter as any other hunter cs prof is bad too. Turns out, trusting the 5s isn’t a risk.
Seen the person writing these 5 stars and then go back talk bad about the raffi to save face. We aint stupid. U are just making a fool of urself. He posts his own 5 stars reviews everyday in the chats to show you his work of art but acts like hes mad about it. He thinks it's funny when he's out here hurting students. Fbi agent turned double agent.
if you have a low iq do not even take this class cause you simply do not have the brain capacity to understand BST therefore you deserve nothing in life
He’s the best cs prof at hunter. You can clearly see all the 1s are trolling, don’t trust them. They are either here to troll or failed his class (where he makes things super easy) and are now taking out their frustrations
Lots of low iq students trying to defame raffi by writing nonsense. Do not trust them. Raffi is a gem. He’s caring and explains things very well. You’ll breeze through his class with very minimal effort. Must take prof
Alright so the Professor just released a new assignment after a lot of complaints. You would think after everything that’s been going on there would be 0 mistakes. After all we have all made it clear that this behavior can’t go on anymore. But what happens? The assignment released already has a mistake. He doesn’t learn from his lessons.
People whining cuz they can’t do some easy projects. He literally extended the due date by 3 days after making a simple mistake. More proof he’s very caring and considerate. He’s not the type to turn a blind eye to the students.
eh, I think I was sorta wrong in my initial judgement lol. he's not terrible- its his first time teaching this course but he is adjusting his practices as the semester goes on. He's actually a decent guy lol midterm was tough as balls though
I’ve come to the conclusion the 1s are mostly trolls. Just read them, doesn’t take a brainiac to figure them out . The 5s are mostly accurate tho. He’s caring, knows how to teach properly and is reasonable with deadlines and polices. Also very helpful during office hours.
He’s got to be the most generous prof ever. He gave a project that was really easy. People still couldn’t do it properly. And so he decided to give a 15 point curve. How generous is that ?
Honestly, the 5s are spot on. He went really easy on grading midterm and projects so far. And he actually listened to the students by improving project 3 directions when people complained project 2 directions were not clear (which was actually a lie). So yes, he’s caring and a great professor . Passing this class doesn’t require any effort
This guy really cares about his students and wants to make sure students can get jobs in top tech companies. So at first, he gave some challenging stuff. But a lot of students couldn’t handle the challenge and started complaining. Raffi being raffi, listened to the students and toned things down heavily. Really proves how caring he is.
