Great Professor! Very thorough and willing to help students. Patient and understanding.
He explains step by step.If you study u will do very well. I got a 'B' in his class. and his tests or quizes are like 8-10 problems long. I liked his class.
By far one of the best math teachers I have ever had. The most pragmatic and patient prof. who's willing to explain anything without becoming flustered.
Prof. Faradineh was very easy. He kind of has an accent but regardless of that he is still very easy and understandable. I had him for Math 50 during the '04 Fall semester and I loved it. At some points I actually looked forward to going to his class because he made math so much easier and fun. I easily got an A.
OMG!! this is the easiest math class ive ever had...EVER!!! i literally found myself sleeping in his class a few times cuz his tests and quizzes are sooo easy! i dont know. maybe its cuz i just came from mrs. williams class (the best math teacher ever), but he just seems too easy! easy a!! the only a im ever getting for a math class here at sac.
He's great at teaching in a way you'll learn and understand. However, I took him for summer session 2 '05, and my one qualm was about how he refused to let anyone do homework during class. A bit intimidating to ask questions from, and discussion on his subject is very difficult to start with him. I often fall asleep from his very serious lectures.
homework and quizes are done online. quizes are not timed! :) unfortunately this teacher does not ;lecture but permitts you to understnad problems through examples and trying them yourself. unfortunitly i need the lectures to help understand!
HE SUCKS!!! His accent kills me and he is unapproachable in class, and has an attitude!!Do yourself a favor, for MaTH TAKE jIMMY TAMAYO OR NICK CROW INSTEAD!!
Class is easy no book needed all work done online. quiz and hw. u can take them until u get 100%. taking it right now. very easy recommend to every1 take math 71 with him.
hes not a bad guy but all of the homework and quizzes are done online, which takes longer to do. the HW and Quizzes are also all due on the same day, so DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU PROCRASTINATE
the class was easy as long as u get the concept he puts on the board. if u don't stay after class and ask him. do all online work on time its easier. do the sample exam us he just pick same question and put it on the test. final is easy. u will get an A if u don't slack off. if u take it easy u wil get B
Good teacher. We didn't use the book all semester, for we did all of our homework online. I loved doing the work online because it was great help when I wasn't in class to receive help from him. Don't take his class if your not serious about passing, or don't take any college class for that matter! Good teacher. I would recomend him.
Extremely helpful, nice and easy! He wants you to pass, but it's all a matter of you actually doing what you have to and paying attention!! Don't buy the textbook, just the online package.
Horrible teacher. Moves to quickly. Skips steps while teaching. Not a friendly teacher student enviroment.
Good professor. Homework is online and uses a good online math website. Good lectures and willing to take questions and be corrected.
I despise math, this is the 3rd and FINAL time taking it. He made it really easy for me to understand. Dont buy the book only the mymathlab. Everything is online but really easy and helpful. He helped me overcome math. Will take again!!
He's okay... The good thing about the class was the mymathlab.
he does not use the book at all. the homework is all done online. there's lots of work to be done and lots of quizzes as well. he is very on top of students keeping up with the work. if the class is not keeping up with the work he will let the whole class know. the tests are also really hard, avoid him if you can!
he thinks EVERYONE took math the previous semester so he teaches extremely quick, if you have a question, he makes you uncomfortable asking it because he's just like wrong! my way is right, period. what a nightmare taking him!!! please stay away!!!
INCOMPREHENSIBLE, USELESS, NOT HELPFUL
i've taken math 51 before and the teacher that i had was so unorganized compared to mr. rahim. rahim teaches very clearly .. he gives out a lot of quizzes and homework so you can slack off on some since there's so many.but make sure you stay on top of things because everything on the homework and quizzes is on the exam.. i recommend him highly
His notes are terrible... he would just stand at the board and do random problems and solve them in his own random methods. When we said we needed help he would say there wasn't enough time, and to go to his office hours if we needed help! He has a short fuse. Beware.
he tries to be funny but he is really not. he is not very helpful, very hard if your not strong in math. very stick to the time frame the department gave him.. not very welcoming to questions..makes you feel dumb when you ask questions.
he was confusing at times when it was something i didnt get but he was always helpful when i asked for help. i loved how there was no book needed. but online home work sucked. i see math as a paper and pencil class. but saving trees is always a plus for me. he got mad a few times but it was only cuz people slackd off durin the winer
Raheem is a one of the best professors I've ever had. He's very clear and precise. Do the homework and blue books and all else should come easy.
Extremely easy class (as long as you did your hmwrk). He only requires you to buy the MyMathLab code which you have to use for hmwrk and quizzes.Test are easy as long as you do your hmwrk, practice quizzes, and pract. tests.Prof is willing to help if there's something you don't understand.DO NOT be late for his class or he will not let you take quiz
hes a good teacher, i mean i learned from him. he's kinda mean. like if you leave the class he'll totally end up lecturing about how no1 cares about education & stuff. he has zero tolerance for talking, texting, etc. he's basically straight to the point: you come to class, he lectures(NON STOP from beginning to end). can get boring! easy material
Excellent teacher. Show up, be motivated, ask questions, do the homework and you'll do great.
He is always willing to help and answer any questions. Also, he assigns incredibly easy take home quizzes. You must do ALL the work and study well in order to receive an A. He allows you to have a cheat sheet for each exam. I would definitely refer him if you need to take Stats.
He's very rude, not understanding, and most of all Don't take him for math. find another professor who is more understanding and nice.
Honestly, this man is genuine, and will ultimately spark your interest in a clandestine subject of mathematics. Not only is he able to keep your attention by being humorous, but he'll also call you out if you aren't keeping up with the curriculum. If you're discouraged about math, take Rahim with determination, and he'll rekindle your love for math
Great teacher to take for statistics. Don't need the book everything is done online. Homework is done online and can be done over and over for perfect scores. In class assignments are simple and based off notes. Just follow what he tells you and you will do fine. Tests are based on his notes and are simple enough if you pay attention. Work hard.
You will only need the online code for the math book! Strict, knows what he wants, but easy to pass if you get help when you need it and do all the material. He may snap/be mean at you sometimes but it's only because his rules are concise.
This could possibly be the easiest statistics class you can ever take in your entire life. He makes it very easy and clear. he lets you use a cheat sheet (1 or 2 pages) for every exam, including the final... you can fail the exams, but can pass the class from doing the hw/take home quizzes and project.
His accent isn't bad at all. He is strict and willing to call you out in front of class IF you are one of the students that tries to get by on the bare minimum. There is online homework. He teaches you how to do EVERYTHING on the calculator (meaning little to no formulas) and you can have a cheat sheet for the test. He is very clear.
He came across at first so strict and a little on the rude side. I understood his teaching very clear though. He honestly does care about his students. He wants his students to aplreciate his class. I would take him again because he taught very well the material.Do all online Hw and quizzes for a better grade.Try not to be late, he gets offended.
Very rude, goes way to quick, can't even ask questions without him getting hostile, also if you have a question on the test he would just say its perfect don't ask anything, what? Once he actually counted how many questions some guy was asking, that's crazy, stay far away from him.
He was one of the most useless teachers I have ever had. He came across as rather rude most days. I wouldn't recommend him, preferably find another teacher.
He explains everything step by step and makes it easy to understand through his lecture style. You don't even need the book (A+ for saving his students money), he has lots of handouts that he made himself that he puts online for you for each chapter if you're still struggling. He is friendly and really wants his students to succeed. Best stats prof
Very simple professor. Must attend class, must turn in homework online. No formulas are needed, all work is done on a TI-84. He CAN come off as rude, however he is one of the most GENUINE people I have ever met. He cares about teaching, and he will do anything to help you succeed. Attend his office hours and he will tell you everything you need.
Very straightforward & can be very onto you if you are not keeping up w/the class. His teaching is very good, but goes too fast. Seems unapproachable when needed to ask for help. Assigns too much hwk problems, which also includes study guides. They are mandatory work that you need to turn in. Has an accent, but understandable.
He is more about the steps of math not the reasons behind them. He has pointed out every individual who has not completed their hw since the beginning of the class. my friend who wasn't doing well in the class got brought up to the front and he was listed every assignment he did not finish or did not do well. He is very rude i would not recommend.
Somewhat rude, condescending, and strict, BUT very clear in teaching! If you aren't good at math this professor will make you better. Explains very well, does many examples, and is fair in his grading. There is a reasonable amt. of h.w., few projects, and 4 exams. Stay on top of all the work. Hes a great stepping stone to the upper division math.
He can be pretty rude, but in general it's to people who he is frustrated with for not completing work; he expects your dedication to the class. He goes fairly quickly but is generally willing to slow down if you ask. Do the work, show your willingness to learn, and this guy is great. He has a fairly dry sense of humor which I appreciated.
Rahim is strict, but deserves & earns your respect. Used a TI-8384 calc at all times, so piece of cake. Never uses book, but need code for online HW. Copy notes off board & you'll be fine. Computer project was a breeze. Allows notes on exams & final. Study guides worth more than HW. Not finishing last 2 HW sets online was the diff btwn an A and B.
Rahim is very clear from day one with what he expects out of his students. He lets you use 1 pg notes on ExamFinal. Hw is online and makes a difference on your grade. If you studytake good notes you will do well. He shows you how to use the calculator for everything, so you just need to remember the steps. He doesn't appreciate tardiness!
Strong heavy accent but if you got through high school with a C in math, you'll do fine. quick to teach but you can ask any questions. DO NOT be disrespectful or he WILL call you out. final was just to graph about 50 graphs. homeowrk was online so if you dont have a comp make sure to schedule a lot of time at the comp lab.
Took Rahem in a once a week stats class, and that man had crazy endurance to lecture all of the challenging material there is to learn in stats. Raheem has good intentions when he scolds students who are slacking but in my opinion I feel it is unnecessary for a professor to scold like he did. The final is cumulative and could ruin your grade study!
He is rude and gets mad when asking a question he is a really bad professor to take
He is not the best professor he is rude towards his students and he gets mad when asking answers pase of the class is
Took him during winter session. Tough, but overall great professor! Is super organized, uses lots of real life examples and is thorough and clear. Is demanding of you, but for your own good. Gave study guides which are absolutely paramount! DO THE STUDY GUIDES!! Also, take advantage of cheat sheets, do not write them out last minute.
This professor is very clear on how he explains the subject. He is very intelligent and is very easy to understand everything. The only problem with this professor is that he is very rude when asked questions and makes you feel less or stupid for asking a question. But after his explanations, you shouldn't have too much questions to be honest.
Rahim is strict, but his lecture is easy to understand. Used a TI-8384 calc at all times. He will teach students how to use calculator in the class , don't worry. Never uses book in the class, and he will put lots of notes on the board. Don't afraid of asking questions!
This was my 2nd time taking statistics. 1st time I failed with a different teacher 2nd time passed with a B during WINTER 6 week course! Prof. Rahim is amazing!!! He is very very thorough in his lectures. You don't get it? ASK QUESTIONS! His tests are exactly like the study guides. Do the study guides and take notes GUARANTEED passing!
whatever attitude you bring to the class expect to get that in return. Rahim is a very passionate professor, incredibly smart, he knows what he's doing. I came into the class ever day smiling and paying attention and he did not seem to have a problem with me. He's not afraid to call you out so its best if you just are mature and attentive in class.
I hadn't had math for a while so I really needed a person/teacher that can show me the fundamentals like Professor Faradineh did, he is awesome he makes sure you understand ask questions and he will answer them until you understand, I Strongly Recommend him if this is your first MATH 50 Class.. Math will be done his way though.
Strict about showing up to class on time. Need a TI 83 or 84 calculator for every class. There were 3 tests&the final was cumulative. Each test you can use a piece of paper one side only. I suggest writing as much as you can on it with examples too. On the final you could use a piece of paper front&back. DO THE STUDY GUIDES &beware of pop quizzes
If your looking for easy he isnt for you if your looking for a challenge then maybe hes for you! I took this class during winter and let me just say he didnt hold back on homework but for someone who struggled and i mean STRUGGLED with math he was one the profesors i actually understood. When he gets irratated he gets sarcastic. I think its hilario
Faradineh is a great professor! He is very helpful and wants all his students to pass. He gives quizzes, but if you did the homework prior to class they aren't hard. He has online tutorials for his lectures. He provides packets for every section, which is very helpful because you know exactly what he's looking for on the test. I recommend him!
Get ready to take notes for hours straight, great teacher and gets in depth about problems if you need him to. He may get irritated every here and there and you can hear it in his tone lol, straight forward and to the point teacher he wastes no time. If you need an easy math class, this class isn't for you.
Professor Faradineh teaches through examples; he provides notes and homework online that you print out. He's a very serious, no-nonsense teacher, but his methodology is actually very effective. I am not a math person, and found his class very clear and learned a lot. Even though the book isn't required, I found it helpful to buy a used edition.
Got a B. He is a great professor IF you really want to learn about stats. I was a little worried about taking him during the Winter but I formed a study group and we would meet up before and after class to do homework and study together. He is very clear about what he wants and willing to help outside of class! Looking for an easy A dont take him!
I took Rahim for Stats over Winter and yeah the concept itself was both easy and tough at the same time but so many people who took the class before so he made the math so much easier to understand. He is clear, precise, and understandable. Every lecture comes from the top of his head. Hes a vet Math whiz and a jokester at times. Take him!
Rahim is an extremely precise teacher. Attendance if mandatory, homework completion is expected, and leaving early will not be tolerated. He called people out for leaving early or not doing homework. Extremely clear with the lesson and TI calculator instructions. Gives TONS amounts of homework for the winter session. One side cheat sheet for tests.
At first I was a bit scared because of the mixed ratings on here, but Professor Faradineh made the material covered very clear (He deserves higher ratings). The questions on the test were exactly like the questions on the homework. I took this class during winter and he allowed a one-sided page of notes for the exams. Take him, I strongly recommend
You will need to work for your grade. Homework is due every class that you'll need to print out yourself. You need a graphing calculator, just like in any stats class. He makes sure that you know what is expected of you on tests.
Class is homework heavy with multiple study guides due every week. If you do the study guides, you'll be prepared for the exams. He's clear on explaining lecture material with examples and always open to taking questions. Overall, a good dude who cracks a joke here and there in class. Also, if you're into basketball, that's a plus.
He teaches students how to solve problems step by step and gives a lot of examples that help students understand, which makes the class easy. He gives homework ( study guide) for every class, which is not hard. The tests are similar to the homework. so if you do the homework, then the tests are easy. I passed the class with 96%overall grade.
He is a great professor. Allows a one sided sheet for exams. Multiple study guides per week along with online quizzes. Has youtube videos and powerpoint for reference. He will answer any and all questions before, during, and after class. Please take him, highly recommend.
Ive never been good at math but Im so lucky to have had Professor Faradineh for stats. He is always available and willing to answer questions. Lots of homework so that you understand the topic and do well on the tests. I took this class in the summer, got an A but it took a lot of time and effort.
Prof Faradineh is an excellent professor. He explains the material in a very clear way and offers plenty of examples. He answers all questions and is available before and after class. There is a lot of homework assigned and online quizzes, however its all pretty much review for the exam. He also allows a cheat sheet for all exams!!
Crazy amounts of homework. You won't pass the class if you skip class. Very strict on attendance and homework. He will put you on the spot if you if come to class late or don't do homework. Allows one sided cheat sheets (8.5x11 in) on exams. You will need a graphing calculator for the semester. You really need to work for your grade in this class.
I took Professor Rahim Faradineh in the summer; and I'd have to say I lucked up. He explains the material thoroughly. The work load is decent for summer class. Plan to be in the math lab because you will def need the xtra help but worth it. Make sure you make it to class on time and ask questions if you dont understand. super helpful professor!
I took him during the summer and very happy I did. He explains everything and even has online tutorials to help. He really explains the material multiple times so it gives the ones who are not great a chance. Obviously homework is mandatory but not excessive. If your willing to try you'll pass. I suggest taking him, I actually enjoyed his class.
Worst prof I have ever had! I will never take his class again! He is always controlling the students. He does not allow students to communicate with each other.
He cares deeply that you leave his class knowing the material. He doesn't suffer fools, lateness, or cellphone use in class. He will toss you out if you cross any of those lines. He's tough, but clear, helpful and fair. Prof Faradineh has his own website filled with supplementary material for his students. I struggle with math. I'd take him again.
We have 2-3 hw per week which are fairly doable. He explains things clearly and his tests are basically the same things in the hw. He also gives us tutorial videos and extra notes online in case we have troubles doing our hw. Give us so many examples for one type of questions. Some extra credits are given. Overall, great professor!
Hes definitely the best math professor Ive had. If your late, on your phone, or talking: he will make you answer every question. Its nice that people are scared to be disruptive because it helps everyone else focus more. Theres no textbook. He uses canvas for at HOME quizzes. Homework is 12% of your grade. Your grade is fair & deserved.
If youre not good at math or youre new to stats, avoid this professor, he leaves ridiculous amounts of homework on a DAILY basis. He doesnt use a notebook which is more confusing cause his YouTube videos he makes are so bad and his voice well.. Test are brutal you can use a cheat sheet but he makes sure you wont even understand the question.
Dude is strict, but I respect that. It shows he knows his stuff and has been in the teaching game for a while. Yeah, there's homework daily, but math is one of the subjects that must be practiced constantly, and I say this as someone who hates math. Besides, it's all straightforward. No weird equation algebra trickery. Get a TI 83 or 84.
Ive never been good at math but this professor is amazing! Lectures are basically just him writing examples over and over again, (he wont call on students) and it really helps! Cheat sheets are allowed for all exams and the final, and there are at home quizzes. He gives a fair amount of homework each week but its easy to do. Easy A for me.
He's definietly one of the best math professors in mt sac. Study guides were sometimes hard but whever I emailed him or asked anything her would help. he is strict but in a good way so we can do the work. come on time, do the work I was around 89.8 and he gave me an A.
He's a really good professor, he knows his area well. He explains really good the topics. What he does in class, he takes in the tests, so copy everything he writes on the board. What's something hard is that he leaves a lot of homework and quizzes in Canvas, but also what he leaves there he takes in the tests. He's not an easy teacher, and also he
He's a really good professor, he knows his area well. What he does in class, he takes in the tests, so copy everything he writes on the board. he leaves a lot of homework, but also what he leaves there he takes in the tests. He's not an easy teacher, and also he's mean, but if you want to learn you should take it. cheat sheet for tests.
Class attendance is an absolute must. He mood can range day to day, and his bad moods are not something you want to see. He is strict, but offers a lot of examples of problems. Review his website, it helps to complete the homework. Lots of homework that he calls study guides, and take home quizzes. Exams are difficult but he allows a cheat sheet.
He may be strict but if you ask him for help and if you show you want to learn, he will have your back. He saved my behind so many times in this class. A lot of homework, 3 exams with a final. He allows cheat sheets for each exam as well as the final. TAKE NOTES CAREFULLY his exams are heavily based on lectures and homework. TAKE HIM HE'S AWESOME!
He is a great professor, he explains everything thoroughly. But the class isn't easy, there will always be homework and online quizzes. 3 exams and a final, the material is same as lecture. He is also strict, and expects everyone to attend class and do the homework as as asked. If you're willing to study and work hard you will enjoy the class.
Rahim was definitely my favorite professor. He's super helpful and really funny. I was never good at math, but his teaching style is great. Goes over tons of examples, & his homework aka "study guides" are exactly like tests! Also allows a cheat sheet! You will have put in work, but it's definitely worth it. Tip: don't use your phone or come late.
I had to withdraw because of how difficult the Exams were for me compared to the Hw and online quizzes. When I retook the class with another professor, my grade was drastically different due to the disparity in difficulty. So all I can say is you'll definitely learn but make sure your page of notes you have for his exams are great or you'll suffer.
His lectures are clear and you will definitely learn if you put in the time. He makes the material easy to understand if you utilized all materials given. That said, he definitely gives ALOT of homework. I would recommend taking him with a regular to light load of classes. Tests reflect study guide. DO NOT BE LATE LEST HE RIDICULES YOU PUBLICLY.
Its a straight-forward class. You attend his lectures, takes notes, do homework, you'll get an A. He doesn't care about you as a student but cares a lot about math so don't expect him to be nice to you. Homework consists of study guides everyday that take about an hour to complete. Tests are literally grabbed from the study guides. No projects.
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER!!!! I was taking five classes including this one and it was not hard at all!! Just do the Study guides he gives you and you will be more than fine!! His exams are straight from his study guides.
Took him during COVID pandemic. Super straight forward class. 1-2 homework study guide assignments a week. Tests are just like the study guides. Short quizzes here and there. Zoom sessions once a week, he teaches well enough to understand, and if you ask him a question he won't ignore it and will answer it throughout the lesson. :)
Worst teacher I have ever taken. He is very rude to his students and doesn't care about your academic success at all. Took him during summer pandemic and it was a complete waste of my time and money. He never responds to emails but if you don't reply to his he threatens to drop you.
Passed his summer class with an A. 4 page HW assignments almost everyday including weekends. A decent amount of quizzes and 3 tests (final included). He is a little salty and intimidating. He doesnt baby the class but his materials are straight forward. He gives you all the resources you need to pass on his website. Dont recommend if youre lazy!
easy class if you study. be prepared for the mean attitude by the prof.
This class can be intimidating since the exams are worth a big part of your grade. But lectures are extremely productive and he explains things very thoroughly and clearly. If you keep up with your study guides and go to office hours for help then you'll do well in the class. Watch out for small mistakes, it's math so the small mistakes add up.
Lecture heavy, but he's thorough. He offers lots of chances to ask for help outside of class. Funny guy and really nice. As long as you try hard you'll get A, allows notes on test.
Professor Faradineh has a bit of an attitude, but only if you ask dumb questions. His lectures are great and goes along w/ all his study guides (homework). Very straightforward in teaching, you actually learn stuff. You also wont need a textbook in his class because he teaches and provides you w/ everything you need to know.
Had Prof. Faradineh for Winter 2021 term at MtSac. This prof. knows the material & has thorough lectures. Highly recommend office hours after attempting the homework. Do not take if you are not prepared to work for your grade. He can be short with students but it is mostly a culture/age difference. He expects success from everyone, & will help you
This is not a class you can wing. 3 tests define your grade. Utilize his office hours, handouts, and review his recorded lectures to get ahead if you're taking in a summer/winter. Procrastinate and you will drown in your own tears. Great teacher, any negative reviews are students who didn't use their resources. I appreciated he grades tests ASAP.
Honestly avoid him if you can, he makes you feel dumb if you dont know the answer and doesnt care if you have personal problems because I guess math is the only thing that matters in this world
He was rude in my opinion. Material isnt necessarily hard, notes he provides through lectures are clear, but its easy to see hes teaching just to collect a paycheck. I missed a class due to being sick from my Covid vaccine, and he gave me a zero for two class quizzes, a zero for my attendance that day, and my grade went down two letter grades.
To start, he is very straightforward and thorough with his lectures, and will has office hours everyday where he guides you through the home work if you dont understand. Some say he can be a little short tempered, but I think that all comes from age as he has had his fair share of living. 2 HW a week and biweekly class quizzes. Dont skip class!!
WORST PERSON EVER! Made a girl cry. Avoid him! when you ask for help he makes you feel stupid. He is careless and yall do not deserve this kind of Professor.
He was very rude. Didnt help much when i asked questions. Always beat around the question . Did prepare much for exams . Also very hard to understand him.
Hey was the worse professor of all time .
Super stressful math class, tons of study guides and quizzes. Be prepared to study your butt off for exams. His exams are hard.
Very good professor. I think the exams and quizzes are very easy and in the final exam, I got 196/200. My overall grade is 97.98. He put all the lectures and study guides on his website. When I asked him questions, he answered me very patiently. Highly recommend! Take it! If you study hard, you will get an A easily.
He knows how to do his job. Study, study, study and you'll get the hang of it. It may not be an easy A class but I feel like my mathematical skills improved. He does have a very helpful website, I say you should take advantage of it. As for the study guides, print them out in the library (it's free)! He gives you lots of resources, use them!
Professor Rahim is very knowledgeable and brilliantly delivers lectures such that the lectures actually help students prepare for quizzes and exams! Professor Rahim sincerely and thoroughly helps his students understand all concepts in the course. Quizzes and exams are similar to the homework questions. I highly recommend taking Professor Rahim!
Not bad as a teacher, just kind of difficult to follow up his lectures. Odd pacing as he sometimes takes too much time explaining one concept then rush another. If you take good notes, you'll be fine as he allows notes on the tests. Exams are similar to the homework he gives. Overall, if you're good at notetaking, you'll be fine with him.
This class make me stress, heavy lectures and exams. Never take his class again.
Disrespectful and abusive professor. He degrades students starting day one. He ask for your ID which I don't think is weird We paid for the class he doesn't need our information. Lectures are all over the place. He skips right to study guides the first week without really explaining anything.
This professor was really amazing with his lectures. He makes sure everyone can get the notes down and his instructions are very clear. I was really able to understand math because of his lectures. Make sure you take notes and copy everything he says because it helps a lot, especially for exams. Study the homework packets and you'll do great!
Worst professor I have ever taken.
I had to retake stats so I took Rahim over the summer and passed with a B. He teaches well, in a way that is easy to understand imo. He is a little rude and will say something if you're late or absent; more understanding of absence if emailed. Lots of study guides if you're taking it in the summer, all exams were online expect the final one.
He is a really great person. I take on summer, It's hard work. But he is very helpful. All quiz is online. U just need to take one last exam on campus. Take his class, the most good choice.
I would not recc him. While he is clear on his grading and is good at explaining the material, he is so rude and makes you feel dumb if you ask him a question. To add, I am hispanic and he would ask me, only me out of all in the class, to help him text someone in Spanish. He also accused me of cheating when I didn't even know anyone in the class.
This is one of the best professors I have taken so far. The lectures are very similar to the homework. The final is challenging, but he allows one page of notes. Definitely recommend taking him!
Was a difficult class for me but he had tutoring hours that I did not take advantage of. Everything was well organized you can see what you would be doing weeks ahead of time. The information was all online and easily accessible. Would go over things with you if you didn't understand. Good professor over all just do the work.
I Like he wrote every single words he said on the board so that is easy for understanding. And also he would record every class he delivered to convince to review after class for students. Highly recommended foreigners take his class at the 1st sem, there will be less language barriers. And he offered lots extra credits and help you get an A.
He has highly patience on all of your mistakes. By his 30 years education experience, he can find all your problems at a galnce and point how to fix in an easier way immediatly. Amazing. Even though he looks serious in class but he's a highly kindly and warm person. He's office hour before class, after class and online each week. Extra credits also
I took in summer, in person. He's patient and experienced to help every student. He gave extra credit for extra homeworks. Not very diffcult. And if you have problems just to access his abundance tutoring time! I'll say I always can find him when I have problems. His face looks serious but actually not, he's warm when I talk to him!
Don't miss a lecture, your notes will literally determine how well you do in class. Also, you're graded on attendance, especially at the beginning of the semester. Make sure you focus on the hw and make detailed cheat sheets, it's literally how I passed the tests. He's a great professor, just don't get on his bad side. Be on time + focus in class.
Rahim's MATH110 class is challenging, but doable if you put in the work. The lectures align well with the homework, and he allows one page of notes on the final. I found Unstuck study and the free textbook quite helpful for study prep. Overall, a solid professor worth taking.
Overall I would only recommend him if you're ok with not having a connection with your teacher. His tests aren't difficult, they exactly reflect the homework and course material, just different numbers. cheat sheets allowed! EC given at the end. I wouldn't take it again, but he's a good teacher.
He's an average to alright professor. The class has clear lectures, great online materials, and manageable homework. However, this is counterbalanced by his strict, demeaning, dismissive, and rude personality. He's a very, very rigid, no non-sense, and straight-forward person. Take a non-honors stats class, unless stats is critical to your major.
The professor was extremely organized, and all the class lectures and study guides are on his website. However, I do say he's really rude and has a bad temper. But overall, the class is relatively easy, 2 exams and a final, the exam questions are the same with hw. Make sure to show up to the lecture on time since he gives a pop quiz at the start.
Lectures were loaded since it was only once a week, but were easy to follow and the homework went off the notes. Few pop quizzes here and there at beginning of lectures but ez. Exams were a bit harder for me (test anxiety) but if u study ur notes and hw it should be ez. Prof has dry humor, slightly strict, but helps u if u struggle, okay overall
