He is such an awesome professor. Always willing to help and class is very structured. Easy to talk to....extremely friendly!! He's a 10.
He is an amazing professor. So brilliant and fun!! His teaching style is unlike any other professors....in a good way!!
Hes a really nice teacher. Hes a big pushover too. I think that the class was sooo easy that its easy to slack off. I got a B slacking off but if u actually study u'll get an A. If u say that u have an apple comp then he will give u extra credit cuz he thinks u need more help. He did that for me =)
Exceptional Professor. Knows his stuff. Course is very knowledge intensive but he made it enjoyable and understandable. Always willing to talk to students and help them in anyway possible. Tests can be difficult (essay format) but if you pay attention to the lecture and study the book it will be easy. Highly recommended
Great Lecturer, knows his stuff well although his accent might get in the way sometimes.
I love this guy. He made the class very enjoyable to go to. It felt more like a graduate level class because of the relaxed problem solving nature.
By far the best professor at Fullerton! He teaches hard courses but he makes it fun and easy to understand. He really cares about the students and is a very humble man. Brilliant!!! Those who can't understand him are idiots. His accent is not bad at all.
He seems nice before evaluations. Afterwards, he seemed a bit more moody. Although he said tests are straight forward and similar to hw problems, but he adds in one trick question that throws you off. Just be careful with his exams.
He is one of the best teachers at Fullerton. He is knowledgeable, fair and helpful. Will recommend him to all. Brilliant!
Not sure why he is getting such good reviews. He doesn't teach the concepts at all. His first two midterms are easy because they're exactly like the homework. The final was very hard, he pulled stuff out of nowhere. I got an A in his class but he wasn't helpful at all. He doesn't teach.
Very good professor. He does what he can to make sure you understand the material. Test and project are easy.
I took 361B with Prof. Bhaskar and got an A. I could not have done it without his consistent help (he helped me even on the weekends). He is the best teacher at Fullerton. No doubt about it!
I took ISDS 415 with Dr. Bhaskar in Fall 2005. He is as good as ever. This was my third class with him. He taught us concepts that are good for the job market and will get us hired! The best at Fullerton.
He is the best profesor. His knowledge and helpfulness is worth taking the class. This is my last class in CSUF and he made it memorable.
Teaches the important parts of stats and doesn't mess around with certain chapters that aren't. The homework assignments are clear and easy...that is if you go to class. I highly recommend taking notes in class because you'll see similar questions on the tests. Easiest stats professor on campus! If you know Excel, you'll pass w/ an A. Must take!
Very funny guy, passionate about his teaching, let's u out early if class seems bored, easy exams, wants everyone to get an A..take him..you'll see it's an easy class..and you'll get a good grade if you put effort into it..lecture is also fun
After my first go-around with Stats I thought I'd never pass...until I accidentally registered in Bhaskar's class. Best decision I ever made. If you fail his class then you never went to class nor did any of the homework assignments. Put in a little effort, ask all the questions you can, and you WILL PASS!!!
Put in a little effort and you will pass. Good curve.
Very, very, very easy A. Professor is very nice and funny. Recomended for those who are not good with stats and math. Others can try something more challenging.
Makes great effort to bring his working knowledge about subject into discussions. Course consists of various short essay HW, take home mid term (case study essay) and in-class final exam (also essay style). There is one group project that covers business related aspects of an e-commerce company. Not hard to get an A or B.
Bhaskar is by far one of the best teachers at CSUF. Nothing makes a class more interesting than a teacher who knows what he is talking about AND who really cares about your success.
he is the best teacher i ever had at fullerton
I took him Spring 07. He is REALLY NICE. He didn't cover much materials. Do all homework assignments, u will get B. Take him
Professor Bhaskar teaches the material very fluently, the way he teaches his material is easily understood. If you have questions, ask him, this guy will do his best to help you out.
He is very caring. He is very smart. He knows the industry well and is an asset to your future. He will prepare you for the real world. Fair grading and teaches extremely well. Gets straight to the point. Exams are very straight forward and as long as you read and care and attend class for the quizes and homework, you'll do just fine and dandy.
Professor that actually likes to teach! He teaches very well, class is hard nonetheless, but great professor. He will assist however he can to help you learn.
Dr. Bhaskar is a nice person. He is pretty funny and enjoys teaching Stats. He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to help you out, if you ask for help. The class was still very hard.
Best Teacher at CSUF. At first he seems like someone u hate, but u will see he CARES A LOT about his students. Kinda hard class but curves nice! Took him for summer so only 5 weeks w/ 1 take home exam and final. Also group project. database is not easy but is very important. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. I never seen a teacher care so much4his students!
He is a good teacher. Very knowledgeable and understanding. Very helpful to students. Offers to buy coffee and work around student's schedule. 3 tests and 3 hw assignments. lets students leave about 1 hr into class. really enjoyed him as a teacher
Stats is hard, no matter what. Prof Bhaskar made it possible to understand & he really cares about the students. Told us that our grades are a reflection of our effort, as well as his...WOW a prof that takes resposibility for his part in the learning process!!! Has current & relevant industry experience...take him!!
If you are NOT an ISDS major take this professor! He grades you based on your effort in the class. If you show you are trying and work with him, he will pass you! The books are only used for 3 homework assignments. Study for the midterms because they are short and they make up the majority of points earned.
DO NOT TAKE BHASKAR! Prof. noted in beginning of last semester it would be the best class ever. only + is that lets out of class an hour early (1day/ week), but does not explain why he grades down super hard on homework when I went to his office hours. Explains one easy type of problem in class then gives super hard homework & tests. Barely passed
He is the best teacher ever. He teaches the concepts and gives examples. He has reasonable hours that helps us learn all the stat - not an easy subject. He is available even on the weekends to help us understand.
I took this teacher for a SAS class and we did NOT learn any SAS. It was pointless... He barely taught us anything. If you want to learn SAS, forget about taking it with this professor. It was a decent review of basic statistics...
I did not know much SAS before this class. I learnt a lot on SAS. He inspired us to prepare for the Basic SAS examination
I really learnt a lot on the basic statistics. The class was meant to teach on how to do statistics using SAS. The teacher took nothing for granted so he taught to all of us even some of us who did not have any background.
I took this class during summer session, and that was just enough time. Prof is really cool, wants you to have a real world perspective on topics. Very open to adjusting the class based on the students feedback. First test is hard, the rest are much easier.
Such a great professor. This was by far one of my least favorite subjects and after struggling so much with 361A I was worried that I would have a tough time. He was so helpful and made things a lot easier to understand. Took it during summer, which I am sure made it a little easier than a normal semester. Homework and 3 Exams. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
Very helpful professor, willing to meet with students before/after class & on weekends. Makes the subject easy to understand. Tests are not difficult, but no one seemed to understand how he graded; seemed to make up grades. That being said, I would still highly recommend him. Just go to his office hours to review your test results.
Dr. Bhaskar is a truly committed to students. He wants you to succeed and utilize the material. His tests were a lot easier for the most part, but he puts in zinger questions to throw you off and see if you were really paying attention. I took it during Intersession and found him to be really accommodating to the limited time. Definitely take him.
A nice man, but not a very good professor. I did not learn anything about ASP.NET from him that I couldn't have learned from the book. Does not respond to e-mails. Class structure is unorganized. Grades are never updated. Exams have typos and unclear wording. If you want an enriched learning experience, avoid Bhaskar.
Professor Bhaskar taught this class in a manner that was made the subject clear. You need to work hard but he makes it a worthwhile experience.Take him
Great Teacher. Highly recommended. You have to work hard and it is not easy to get through his class but if you work hard you learn. Take him if you want to learn ASP.NET
AVOID! I taught myself everything in this class from reading the book since going to class was pointless. Talking to him in his office hours was just for casual chats, NOT FOR HELP! Test wording was very unclear and grades were never up.
Take him! I learnt more in this class. You have to work hard to learn programming. Professor will always help if you have done your work. Always available - even on the weekends.
He is the best professor at Cal State. Not only he cares for the students but his knowledge of real life work gives the students an edge in the job market. I will take every class he teaches
take him!!!
Honeslty I don't know if it was just me but I found his tests to be hard! Test only had 5 - 10 questions and the HW was a way easier version of the test. He let's you out early but barely covers the material. If you can teach yourself take him if not, I'd recommend someone else.
Many of the concepts were clarified because I took this professor. You have to work hard (like anytime you want a good grade in any class) and also work on problems in addition to what the prof gives for homework, you can ace this class. The teacher is good, in my opinion.....i will take him again.
Mumbling lecture at super speed with his heavy accent nonestop. Insincerely answer question. U ask 1 question, u get 1/2 answer. No study guide for exam. About 10 questions: couple multiple choices from random corner of the Chap and the rests are fill out. Only 1/2 exam from hw, the rests are random stuffs. Awkward way to ask the test question too.
The professor works hard with us on the exam. We had weekend preparation class that helped a lot. He is crystal clear in his lectures and worked with us on the examination. He tries his best.
omg, this guy's tests are ridiculously hard. Mainly because it's math class but he test you like science class with tricky questions, which he never talk about in class nor in the book. Cause he often spend half the class time talk about job career, then only go over couple problems and let student out early. Tests are nothing like the homeworks.
He is a cool professor. I have never been able to appreciate this subject but the way he associates class work with the real world including the jobs etc. makes it real. I can actually understand it.
super nice guy but his exams are next to impossible. I'm not bragging but I received a 98% in the 361A class but I barely got a B in this class due to the curve. SUUUPPPER DIFFICULT
wooooow talk about giving impossible exams. I read the book, every page, never missed a class, took great notes and when he gave the exams, it was like he used a different book. Anything he teaches in class is guaranteed not be on the exam. He's a nice guy, but nice guys don't necessarily teach well.
Oh my gosh! what a great professor. I took 361B with him. He is a great teacher. 361b is a hard subject and the exams are supposed to be tough. He made the topics so clear! He is a nice guy AND also a great teacher. I will take him for other classes if I can
He is a great professor, not easy, but great. He tries really hard to help students out. Bhaskar has a great sense of humor and takes time out of his weekends to help students in need. I received an A in 361A and an A in 361B. So it is definitely not impossible. You just have to UNDERSTAND the work you do. He tells you what are on exams as well.
Ummm I'm not sure what the previous two people are talking about; this professors is terrible. His exams are extremely tough and the material on his exam reviews are never on the actual exam. Ver disorganized but super nice guy. I DO NOT recommend him AT ALL.
Dr. Bhaskar was one of the best professor i had at CSUF. He is not only 'nice' as other students say here, you learn a lot from him. If someone has hard time in the exams, it is not because of the professor. This is the first time many of us are learning management science and he made it fun so I took him again in other classes.
Professor Bhaskar is a nice man and he trys to help his students as much as possible. But, in my opinion, he is not a good teacher. It's very discouraging to study your behind off for an exam and not do well. I don't recommend him at all.
Took his class online and it was HARD. This class is hard enough, taking it online made me teach myself and that did not go too well. The subject is not going to get much easier with another teacher. Professor Bhaskar tries his best to help students and it is easy to tell he really wants everyone to succeed. Take him if you can. online...up to you.
Took it online. I recommend taking it in a classroom. Math comes easy to me but teaching yourself is a different ball game. He posts ppts with scripts, but no video lectures. Excel hw each week, an online exam, in-class midterm & in-class final. Exams are open book. Difficult to complete hw w/mac excel. Ended up w/a B but it was VERY time consuming
I took this class online. The professor was a great teacher. He added videos wherever possible and had phone calls with us. He even gave his contact so that we could clarify any doubts. The subject is hard and taking it online becomes harder but if you have to take it, then take it with Dr. Bhaskar. The best
I loved taking this class with professor Bhaskar. He is very very intelligent. I would recommend him to everyone. Brilliant man. Was a please to be in his class
Dr Bhuskar is a professor who is dedicated to making sure his students learn. He has a wealth of experience and if you already work in a professional environment, he is a great resource to lean on. The class is one where you get out of it what you put into it. I could not recommend taking Dr. Bhuskar any more highly.
Dr. Bhaskar's assignments require a good amount of research and you have to be sure to do write a good amount in order to answer homework questions and exam questions. The good thing is that as long as you answer his questions and he can tell that you actually thought it through, you will get an A. Overall, it was an easy class.
Class is not easy, but it is not extremely hard either. It requires a lot of work. Short writing assignments and group projects. Midterm and Quiz is a lot of writing. Great teacher and communicator. He calls everyone in the middle of the semester to see how everyone is doing. He emails regularly to answer questions.
Prof Bhaskar is a great teacher. He is very fast at responding to emails. Very organized and wants you to succeed. He provides you with reviews quizzes for the 3 quizzes (which are pretty much exams) and grades generously.
Professor is the nicest guy I have had at CSUF. He likes teaching and wants students to succeed. Lectures are really boring. He tries to keep us engaged but doesn't work. Hw is online and there isn't much and there is extra credit. 4 tests and a couple reports. I would take him again because he was kind and patient but was a lil tough relaying info
This professor is extraordinary, he does things to help their students and motivates you to pass the class!!! He is unique!! As long as you go to class, do homework, and quizzes you are in good shape. He prepares you well for the exams. Just work hard and you will pass!! He is a sweetheart! and so far the BEST PROFESSOR OF ISDS 361 A.
Prof Bhaskar is great. He shares real life experiences and gives amazing lectures on business alnalytics in today's world. He goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is following with the material, and shares good amount of technology related materials with class. Great class and great guy. Highly recommended!
hated the online class. I usually get A's and B's but this class was very difficult! you have to read the entire book to do well in this class! would have much rather taken this class in person. way too much info to memorize
Took this professor for isds A and enjoyed him so much I took B during the summer! Great teacher but his knowledge shines for an inclass environment! I highly recommend take it in a classroom setting. He is very helpful and responds quickly to emails. This subject can be semi difficult, but he wants to see his students pass and succeed.
Great professor! He works very hard and is caring.
I took the online course. Bhaskar is a very nice guy. He has a lot of experience in this subject. Bhaskar even calls you for feedback and asks what he can do to help you. He told all his students to utilize him as a resource. Great professor. A lot of work, but a great course.
Amazing Teacher. Highly recommended!!
These classes is not hard as long as you understand how to make the templates and put the data into them. Bhaskar is a very good professor, if you have any issues he will make sure you understand. He is somewhat lenient on the exams as far as precision of data is concerned.
Amazing professor. I had him for two semesters and he keeps delivering! The topics he taught are key for getting a good jon
This man is hands down the BEST prof ive had. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. Despite him being busy, hes willing to put time aside to help you out. He teaches you REAL WORLD APPLICATIONS. TAKE HIM. Very easy to approach and just start a conversation. Definitely the kind of person you want to keep in contact with after the class
1 mid term, 1 final, and several small assignments. Mid term is 40% in-class multiple choice, and 60% on a paper ( 5-8 pages) on reading articles. Final (30%)is on multiple choice and 3-4 short answers. One group project & presentation on IBM Watson ( 10%). Easy class and you will learn a lot new program like SAS
You have to take this class because it is mandatory for graduation. Took this class with lots of expectation but could not fulfill them. I learned few software but they are just introductory. Lectures are too heavy and many things are not related to the course.
Excellent class. One of the best teachers across the CSUF. I learnt more in this class than any other. All the students in the class enjoyed the class and appreciated his knowledge. Highly recommended!
Had a lot of expectations for the class, none were fulfilled. Very disorganized, never grades the assignments. You don't know how well you are doing in class at all. Assignment instructions can be very unclear, and never responds to e-mails when you need clarification. Boasts a lot of himself, but does nothing to help the students
He is one of the best professors in CSUF. Always gave feedback and grades. Shared real life experiences. Taught us how to learn a vast subject like Data Science. Does a great job to keep it interested. Loved the class
Dr. Bhaskar is one of the few teachers who TRULY cares about his students. He will help prepare you for your job search by sharing tips and tricks on what you should and should not focus on. Quizzes and tests are straight from the book, projects are fun and relatively easy. This class covers a very broad swatch of topics, be prepared to be confused
Talks too much. Instead of teaching the BI tools, he will focus on pyschology, sociology and other studies. The class does not seem worth attending
He is a VERY slow grader, the Final was 2 days ago and he hasn't graded about a 3rd of the assignments as well as the Final test. He's also very disorganized, and changes things online without sending the class an email. He makes up his own questions on the quiz, but some are nonsensical.
Very nice guy. He loves giving career advice and talk about the trends/events going on in the analytics industry. But that's basically all he does during lectures. 95% of the stuff he talks about during class is not applicable to the exams or quizzes so this is basically a self-study course. If you take this class don't bother getting the book.
This is the least interactive class in my collage career. The professor is reliant on you just understanding material. Email responses to question are generic and non-addressing to actual questions. Perhaps his communication barrier and thick ascent conflicts with his ability to converse in general terms He's not worth $1500 and the price of book!
Enrolled in 415 online last semester but the lecture recordings were too dry to concentrate on. Re-enrolled on on-campus class and he has been amazing. Takes time to explain things, gauges the class's comprehension very well. Goes off on career talks but really, it's hard to find executive-level professionals who willingly share their wisdom.
One of the best professor i have ever taken!!
This professor was the worst online professor. He was not good at communicating or responding to emails. He was not clear on the expectations on the hw and when I would email with questions there was no response. He hardly graded. At end of the semester, I had 7 assignments that were not graded. In the end, he gave full credit w/o looking at them.
Most frustrating professor ever. He wasn't organized. He didn't respond in a timely manner. Lectures were hard to follow. The format of his exams are nothing like he explains during the exam review. He will focus 20% of the exam on a small topic that he barely covered. Even with allowed "cheat sheets" it didn't help. Never again.
One of the best professors. Amazing lecturer. Makes it so interesting and grades are fair!
Be aware of taking an online class with this professor! You would be all by yourself during the semester. He throws a lot of homework on you without even teaching a thing! powerpoint slides are like a joke compared to what he demands on homework! Exams are heavily based on the book and if you don't read the book in detail, you would fail the exam!
He is by far one of the worst professors I've ever seen! He would never reply to emails/pick up his office phone! You would easily get 40% on a homework if you miss only a point or two! ZERO effort to teach during this class! He gives you exam format and then surprises you on the exam date with a totally different format!!
Professor Bhaskar is a great teacher. I learned so much in this class and all of the material felt super accessible. Tests are super reasonable, and HW is super understandable--the book is really helpful and the professor himself is a great resource--he really cares about his students and connecting them to helpful case studies and materials.
My experience: -Sent him several emails, called his office and left VMs but never heard back! -No solid grading rubric! Minor errors in assignments 50%-70% -Slides: confusing and unorganized! -Videos: he just read from slides! -Exams: totally different with exam reviews! -Assignments and exams graded in 4-5 weeks no feedback or never been graded
I'll give you a $100 if he replies to your email. He told me to email him all my questions, sent him a couple emails and it's been months, no reply yet. 5 of my other friends also never got any response. It's frustrating when you're taking an online class. This guy has some serious issues.
Love his classes. If you truly want to learn, take his class. Reach out to him and he will respond if you truly want to learn. I have done a project with him outside the class. He guides and teaches to get you ready for a job in analytics. Very few do it.
Amazing. Love his class.
His grading criteria is not clear. Most of his grades are based on his mood and if he likes the student or not. Does not give enough time for midterm and final exams. 75% is short answer type, 25% is MCQ. Btw, by short answer, he means a long essay. Grades very hard on homework and provides no feedback. Avoid taking him at all costs!!
Never responds to emails, grades harsh and gives no feedback as to why, lectures are useless. Avoid at all costs because you will learn nothing and be stressed the whole time
He's fine, but his lectures were not the best, and they were oriented towards graduate students. Exams have writing response questions, which make up the bulk of your grade on the exam. I got an A in this class but if you want an A, get ready to do a lot of reading.
Lots of busywork. Doesn't respond to emails. Asks you to call/text him (doesn't respond there either).Easy quizzes, unnecessarily difficult testing structure. Timed and online, but MCQ and Written are separate? Unclear grading rubric. I got an A, but I don't even know what I did right or wrong. He didn't care for this class and neither should you.
Class was TBD the whole time. Friday night at 11pm he sent an email out saying class will be held on Sat 10am. In addition attendance was mandatory until a student complained to him. Then he said he didn't like how one student was speaking on behalf of the class. The whole class was unorganized and he doesn't respond to emails.
Dr. Bhaskar's class is for students who care about learning and are willing to put the work in to reap the rewards. I reached out to him after class a couple of times and he was immensely helpful in giving me advice in terms of the material and in relation to career. Truly someone working on the cutting edge--I loved this class.
Took his class during the summer. Lectures are him reading off the slides. 1 midterm on a saturday morning. I am not exaggerating when I say it takes more than a week for him to respond to his emails. No grading criteria or feedback, so one minor mistake on homework = -10 points on your HW when it's out of 20.Content is mainly ISDS361A/B excel.
Absolutely amazing. Great teacher, great guy. 361B is a step up. Just email him and talk to him with any questions. He wants his students to understand the concepts.
Dr. Bhaskar's class is no easy feat, but if you put in the work, the rewards are worthwhile. Consider using Unstuck ai alongside the course material to help with your studies.
Never responds to email. Sent out 4-5 emails throughout the semester never got a response to any. Does not give a clear rubric for any project/cases. Doesn't actually teach just uses videos off of Cengage. Lectures don't match exams at all. Avoid this teacher if possible.
Does not explain anything. If you email him to ask for help or clarification on assignments he does not answer. Impossible to contact. No rubric ,guide, or proper instruction for projects or cases. Will grade these project, cases, or tests and will not tell you what you did wrong on them so you can improve. Test do not match any of the lectures.
Horrible professor that doesn't respond to questions and emails Extremely tough grader that refuses to show you what you got wrong to understand how they determined the grade. $300 Cengage materials to do HW. Only class I didn't pass in my 3.5 yrs at CSUF. AVOID!
Attn: CSUF Professor Bhaskar consistently fails students unfairly. I have met with my classmates also in the course who are having the same issue. He doesn't respond to emails, won't explain grading, and wrongly deducts points claiming work isn't shown when it is—I have proof. Clearly disengaged and uninterested in teaching or supporting students.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. Worst professor at CSUF. Exams don't match lectures & there's no clear grading rubric. He never responds to emails, refuses to explain grades & unfairly deducts points. Many students, including myself, have struggled due to his lack of instruction & engagement. If you want to save your GPA, avoid!
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS - GRADE changes constantly!!!! was 94% and dropped to 68%.
This class is really advanced excel and none of the information will ever come up in business. You need to memorize the excel formulas and how to work out the problem while being watched. He is not helpful at all and hard to understand. Really expensive textbook you will never use because all the hw assignments are through the book site.
As someone who is experiencing firsthand what it's like working in marketing and technology, this class will be very helpful in your career. Yes, there will be difficulties and he is a tough grader. He is very accommodating but don't assume everything will be fixed, effort is expected. Also don't be surprised if he responds late.
