He gives great notes, but i can't understand his accent!
His Web notes are Fantasmic! What the hell is hes saying...I dunno?
I didn't understand a word he said. Worst theory teacher I have ever seen. His notes are annoying, due to the multiple grammar and spelling errors. Ironically, the notes are just copied word for word straight from the textbook!!!
Easier teacher than Bev. Hard to understand during class but you can succeed by using his very well-written notes. Discarded Bev's notes and used his when I had to switch teachers after Christmas.
Worst teacher EVER! SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY... I left every class feeling helpless as I did not understand a WORD he said the whole class... well I did understand "slowly slowly" and Phisiolology but that’s about it. His tests aren’t that bad which is the only reason I stayed in the class.. but I defiantly do not recommend him to ANYONE!!!
Could not understand a word he said.
Although he was difficult to understand he was so fair on his exams and if you read the notes which were posted on mymacewan you did good on his tests, i only attended 2 classes the entire year and still came away with a B+ so i would recommend him if you would not go to class!
smart but hard to understand
He is a very smart man, but he is so hard to understand you end up having to learn everything on your own.He had fair tests though.
AWESOME TEACHER..would definetely recommend!!!!
Raj is the awsome. You would have to be brain dead to fail his class. Difficult to understand, but funny a hell. He always lets you know what you need to know for exams. you do need to study though, but that should go without saying
Raj is AWESOME. He gives so much learning material that it is hard not to understand what is on the tests. He is hard to understand at first, after the first class or two, you learn his style. I've had him for two classes, and he is very fair and helpful. Anyone who says different just failed, and is looking for an excuse.
difficult to understand. for the first couple weeks all i understood was "im going to go home and have a kokanee" (LOL). but u get used to him and somehow u understand him completely especially when he tells u whats on the test. ONLY study what he says! he tells u exactally what he is going to ask. he even tells u which diagram u will have to label
He's hard to understand, so be prepared to teach yourself. His tests are fairly easy and I always overstudy. He's hilarious if you are actually listening to him. I'm not sure if I'm actually learning enough to continue a cumulative course with another prof. The 3 hour lecture is a nightmare (way too much content) and I recommend avoiding it.
Not bad. He makes things very easy but there is a language barrier. I did enjoy his class.
well english is not his first language. Makes life so hard to pay attention in class. I mostly taught myself he gives great material.I had a high mark going into final. The final was terrible.Pulled my mark down. But he gives up 2 3 bonus marks for attendance. 4 a night class it helped me get closer to nursing.weird numerical grades to letter grades
Enthusiastic, responds to email often within 5min - always within 24hrs, respectful, knows his subject and will patiently explain anything you are challenged with.
A lot of information is crammed into 3hrs!Using a slide presentation, he emphasizes what will be on the exams. You must listen closely & by 2nd class you will catch the information(& his witty humor!). Review the textbook but focus on material he presents! He is very available&willing to review material you don't understand.Swiftly responds to email.
Doesn't teach but just rambles on so fast using his power point presentations that you don't even have a chance to grasp the last thing that he went on about. Very strong accent doesn't help with him speaking so fast. Does not make the course interesting.
Overall, he's a great teacher! Had him for Anatomy and Physio (I & II). The midterms are pretty easy, but the finals are usually harder, I tend to do worse on his finals. Sometimes the wording (grammar) is weird in the exams so if you're unclear make sure to ask him about it!
great teacher, thick accent, easy tests. gives great hints as to what will be tested. would recommend to anyone.
He was my favourite teacher in my first year of nursing..mainly because he was super easy. He tells you what to study and what not to study. I was getting in the 90's on all his tests. As long as you focus on the powerpoints he gives you, you will do fine! HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED! :)
Good teacher overall, sometimes hard to follow lecture, jumps back and forth with slides occasionally. Pretty easy test if you paid attention to what or what not to study. He's pretty cut and dry, tells you what you need to know.
I would avoid taking Raj if possible. He tells you what to study-fairly easy exams-, which is helpful, but I ended up teaching the material to myself because I couldn't understand him!!! He talks so fast, and his words just come out jumbled and incomprehensible. On top of that, you will pull your hair out going to the 3 hour night class. Avoid..
Cannot recommend him. Though he clearly knows his stuff, he doesn't teach well. Exams are full of ambiguities, typos, and sometimes errors. He also repeatedly changed the course outline and made the announcements in class only--no email. Told us in class what was going to be on the exam; otherwise would not bother attending class.
Teaches far too fast too follow, then ends class early. Changes syllabus without email notification. Final exam had multiple errors, ambiguities, and typos. Tells you in class what will be in the exam, but otherwise going to class is not a fruitful use of time. Knows his stuff and is a nice guy, but needs to work on good teaching!
I'm not sure why some people don't like Raj. There is a lot of material in this course and he covers ALL of it in his classes making them extreamly fast paced. He clearly outlines what you need to know for the exams which makes studying for them a breeze. His slides and chapter notes are a life saver, I only used the text as a reference. Loved it!
Great Proffessor!!!!!!!!
He talks really fast, very hard to follow, but just read his powerpoints and what you don't understand look in the text. very helpful : )
Very knowledgeable. However, does not speak the greatest english and speaks very fast (if you listen he is understandable). He is very funny and class generally has some laughs. He gives very specific outlines for what his on his test. He has powerpoints on blackboard which is all you need to know for the entire course.
He was nice and funny, but that doesn't help the students. He spoke too fast and with his heavy accent and bad english it made it very hard to understand what he was saying. Also on his exams there were many grammar, spelling, and sentence structure issues and sometimes the exam or what he was asking was generally confusing.
This instructor is very knowledgeable and hard working, except the language barrier! I recommend this prof for his faireness in tests!!!
Raj is a great teacher and very approachable. The language barrier is evident at first but the best advice is print the notes off ahead of time and make notes on them in the class. Very available and helpful for office hours.
NO PROBLEM WITH ACCENT! Other comments are wrong! If you actually listen, you will understand everything he says. Very knowledgeable, approachable, fun and very fair to 1st. year students! He is the best! Classes very interesting and logic sequence and use of textbook.Highly recommended prof.
Raj is the best! His powerpoints are extremely helpful containing everything you need to know for the exam plus he tells you what to focus on for every chapter. Definitely get into his class if you can!
Look past the accent! Raj was a great teacher for this course. Although anatomy is basically a "learn it yourself" course.. because you basically have to memorize things; Raj made it quite easy by the way he structured his powerpoints! USE THEM! I only used my textbook when I wanted a better view of structures.
this is a memorization class so the less you have to memorize the better. he is very helpful in that he tells you the greater majority of what will be on his exams so you can be relax a little when it comes to studying.
he is a funny guy, but his classes are a waste of time.... You can not go to class and look at his slideshows and still do good on your marks... but he is funny
Everything he tests on is from his powerpoints so it's easy to do good on his exams. He tells you exactly what will be on the midterms and final and his exams are easy.
I had Raj for anatomy + physio 1 and 2. DIDN'T use any of the textbooks. Exams are based on his power point notes which makes it that much easier to study. He can be a little hard to understand b/c of the language barrier but the good thing about him is that he prepares you for each exam! Gives a really good outline. Hilarious guy too
Raj is a very funny man, if you can get past the obvious language barrier he is an awesome professor too. He tells you exactly what he expects of you and there will be no surprises when it comes to his exams. Listen to what he says, make it easy on yourself!
Gets a bit behind, but lays out exactly what will be on the midterms, making them a breeze.
Tests are entirely from powerpoint, don't bother buying the text! Attendance in this class is a must bc he tells you where to focus on studying for exams. For all the material you have to cover over the semester, he makes it doable. He's welcomes any questions after class. If you're taking anatomy, try to get in his class!3x20% midterms, 1x40% final.
Raj is an amazing teacher! He is really enthusiastic and loves what he teaches. He tells you what to study for the exam which is a huge stress reliever when theres 5 million things to memorize. He wants you to do well, and the language barrier isn't a big deal after the first couple classes. Get in his class if you can :)!
Raj is an amazing prof! He is so funny and does a really good job at helping you learn the material. He gives you outlines for each of your exams which is amazing! Take his class!!! :)
Great professor! He is a funny guy, and he really wants you to do well! He outlines generally what will be on the exams making them much easier to study for. If you study what he tells you to, you will do well! Everything is off powerpoints but if you don't go to class you will miss what he hightlights as important. Definitely reccomend him!!
He is very funny teacher. Seriously recommend him to everyone. His exams are only from his powerpoints. No need to buy a book. If you attend his class and listen to what he telss you about the exam, u will get A.
His expectations are clear, he provides outlines for exams, and he is super funny - what more could you ask for? His tests are pretty much 100% from his slides which means very little note-taking. Barely used my text at all. I will take any class of Raj's that I can in the future! He makes it easy to do well. :)
Raj is a guy u can't help but like. He talks like a AK-47, altho I have no idea what he is saying sometimes. eg.is it walls or valves? idk, because he says them both as walls. The good news ... He uses pics so u can figure it out. On the upside, this guy says exactly what u need to know for the exam...which makes up for any language discrepancies.
THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. During the lecture he literally would combine 10 slides into 2 minutes just so everyone could leave early. His notes are all over the place. His exams are straight forward but what use is that when youre not learning anything. I have asked him for extra help and he told me to use wikipedia... AVOID HIM
Terrible teacher, basically learn the material yourself. Teaches 2 units per class, cant keep up. The good things about Raj is that his notes are online and his tests are super straight forward.
Attendance is not mandatory, Power-points are posted. But, Raj is very straight forward and fore-warns you what will be focused on during the quizzes. No language barrier if you pay attention. Lots is covered every class because of the amount of information to be covered with the course. Nothing against Raj for the speed of the course. Great prof
Raj is the best! If you read the notes before class, answer the course objectives he has posted, you'll definitely get an A+. Also I don't know what the person who said he told them to use wikipedia was talking about, he gave me clear answers when I asked him questions. He's also funny and easy going, and I had a lot of fun in his class!
Raj is awesome! He will work with you during office hours to help you get whatever clarifications you need. He's a little quick with his lectures but there is a LOT to cover in 12 3hr classes. Great teacher, very knowledgeable, says the same jokes to each class each year but its endearing.
Raj is a fantastic prof. He is hard to understand at first but after a few weeks you get used to his accent. His exams are straight forward and he reviews exactly what will be on his exams the class's before. study off his PowerPoints and use the textbook for diagrams and you will be set. He genuinely wants his students to do well .
Raj speeds through his powerpoints like no tomorrow, focus on listening to how he relates the subjects together rather than writing anything down. Some of his material is extensive yet not tested on, but he lets you know this is class. Overall wonderful prof, no textbook required!
A really great, funny guy. His tests are pretty easy as long as you study and most definitely reflects course material. He flies through his powerpoints and it is sometimes difficult to keep up/understand him as he talks fast and has a bit of an accent. Overall, I would definitely recommend him! Just pay attention :)
He is an awesome teacher for giving his students hints on his midterms and final. However, i am studying his powerpoints right now and i cant help but find so many errors and contradicting info on it. Be careful. He really needs to review his powerpoints again.
Alright proff, gives hints for finals and midterms in class so you should attend. Strong accent but a great guy!
Dr. Narnaware is a great prof. He can be a little bit difficult to understand at times but his notes are fantastic so it doesn't really matter. The amount of information that that he throws at us is substantial; however, his exams are very straight forward and easy if you study. I have him for Physiology in the Fall and I can't wait!
Good professor over all- but hard to understand. I stopped going to class and ended up doing better because of it. Study the powerpoints. Everything you need is on them. Also, he tells you what is going to be on the test ... so go to the class before the exams. My biggest complaint is that he rushes through things. No time for notes.
Initially you will feel like you don''t understand anything but if you ask he will explain better. Study his power points religiously and you will pass with over 80 for sure The subjects are hard but he knows how to help his students regarding exams matters.
Very good prof. He can be hard to understand at times but that's fine. He may go fast but that's cause there is a ton of info to get through. He really wants his students to pass and cares for their success. He's a genuine person and approachable. His exams are based off power points so study them religiously. He also gives hints on what's on exams
Raj is a really funny teacher. During his lectures it is hard to understand him when he talks really fast and skips from slide to slide. If you have a question he is very good about answering it. Just read the power points and be in class to write what is going to be on the quiz. We never use the textbook just power points and objectives list.
He's a very good prof. Only downside is he is hard to understand due to accent. He really wants his students to pass and is very helpful. He makes lectures entertaining sometimes with jokes, etc. He gives A LOT of hints to his exams and will even remove questions if it was too difficult for the class. I would take again.
Raj is pretty funny and makes us laugh quite a bit but somewhere lacks on his way to explain stuffs all because of his thick accent .. ! but if u want to at least pass the class .. He is a big help ! he tells u what are on the exams ** so my only suggestion is DO NOT MISS THE CLASS **
Definitely hard to keep attention with his accent but funny non-the-less. Recommend for any class, gives slides, review questions and goes over exactly what you will need to study. If you show up, do the questions and the review you'll do just fine.
Raj was probably the best prof I could have gotten for this class. He was hilarious but at times hard to understand with his accent. If you stopped paying attention for a minute you lose track of where you were and what he was talking about. Tests were relatively easy, the written was give away marks. Having him made night class fun.
Professor Narnaware is a fantastic prof. Yes, he does have a little bit of an accent but it doesn't really matter because his notes are fantastic and if you study, you will DEFINITELY do well. His exams are so unbelievably easy. I've had him for Anatomy and Physiology 1 and both courses have been a breeze.
Yes he may have an accent but everything he is saying is on his power points. As long as you keep up with studying (keep in mind how much material has to be covered in one semester)you will do well. He is really entertaining and keeps you engaged. No need for a text book his notes were sufficient.
You have to seriously try hard to fail or do bad in this course. He has an accent (who doesn't now a days). He gives hints to what will be on exams, very approachable, will help if you ask. Exams entirely based on slides, Anatomy has 3 midterms, 3rd one a bit late but it's due to mass content to teach. Study slides religiously and it's an easy A
Has an accent but not bad. I did not need Anatomy textbook, waste of money. Talks SUPER fast. Posts slides. Will give hints on what will be on exams. VERY approachable, funny and helpful. Everything is based off slides - study them non stop. I would take him again for sure. He eventually knew me by first name basis. He wants his students to do well
He talks super fast, nothing too special, posts notes online and is very approachable for help. Only thing I don't like is there are major inconsistencies and even wrong information on his slides. I've taken him for HLSC 126 and 120 as well and tests always had some questions with no correct answer or two correct answers.
Raj was great, very funny and helpful. I highly recommend not buying the textbook for his classes, all the midterms questions are straight forward and easy. He also provides the class with a great outline of what will be on the exams. He is a fantastic teacher, very passionate about what he does. I would definitely take any other classes with him
Raj is a great guy and tries his best to make every class as interesting as possible. You do not need to attend class in order to do well because he posts his notes online and his exams are directly from the notes. Study the notes and you will do really well. No textbook required!
Really hard to follow. I feel that the only reason I passed was because I had previously learned most of the material in High School classes and options. He is passionate about the material and he knows what he is talking. He is difficult to understand though.
He was a great prof. I would arrange my schedule in order to get him. His accent is strong but manageable. His power points are great and he tests off them. Do the online labelling because he usually will put one of those on his tests. I did very well in his class.
Class is not mandatory, study the material on your own. He was not helpful at all i found myself having to email him all the time to clarify things which he had a hard time doing. That being said you don't really need an amazing prof for this class because it is all memorization and straight forward. Study and you'll do great.
Raj is a really nice guy, but his class was pretty awful. Read off the powerpoint, didn't engage students, seemed to drone on and on. Wasn't very clear with his slides and I often had to clarify. Don't bother going to class; skip it and do the studying yourself. That being said, he posts full outlines of what will be on the exams.
Frustrating for students who work full time/have a life aside from school because the schedule changes and dates of current slides are not posted. No text book required which he does not state at the beginning of the semester.
Professor Narnaware is very knowledgable and passionate about anatomy. Unfortunately his accent is so strong that its very hard to understand him. In class he reads his slides off which are posted on blackboard so going to the class is optional. Text book was only useful for large diagrams.
I don't even know where to begin.. There is no words to explain how terrible this class is. His accent is real strong, he just reads his power points, goes through way to many chapters per class, TERRIBLE STUDY GUIDES, need to know labelling of everything, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS AS AN OPTION OR GPA BOOSTER... GET ANOTHER PROF.
Raj is sweet, just follow his powerpoints and you'll do good, don't bother buying the book
Not enough time to cover way too many chapters. No in-depth explanation whatsoever. Just reads off his powerpoints, which btw are just stuff directly taken from the textbook. Book is optional. But Wileyplus code was needed for assignments worth 5%. He adds humour to his lectures (most of the time). Pretty heavy accent so listen very well :)
Very fast, a bit unorganized and underprepared for the midterms. My section had 2.5 chapters left to basically learn on our own time for the first midterm as he forgot it was next class. He was 5 chapters behind at the end so our final was changed to accommodate that
He posts all his material he goes through in class on blackboard. You don't ever need to attend class because everything you need to know/will be tested on is on his powerpoint. His lectures are long and pretty hard to understand.
Raj is the best prof for Anatomy! Everything on his test is on his slides, and if you go to class, he tells you exactly what you need to study. He's hilarious and does whatever he can to try and give you a high mark. I got used to his accent really quickly. Anatomy is a difficult course, but he makes it as straightforward as possible and fun!
Could barely stay awake. He basically says exactly what is in the textbook.
His lectures drag on. Most of the time he's very hard to understand and he speaks quite fast. Everything is on his powerpoints, so if you miss class, you have the info right there.
good notes but he is confusing to listen to at times during class and therefore going to class seems pointless because all he really does is read off the slides. prepare for him not to give you word banks for labelling questions AND not tell you what you're gonna be labelling so have fun memorizing a million figures. also makes mistakes on tests
He is a nice guy but a not-so-great teacher. He ended up losing our second midterms (he found them two weeks later thankfully), but because of that everyone had to go into the finals blind as to what their current marks were.
Lectures are super long and he basically goes from the slides. Talks very fast and has an accent. HOWEVER, he is fair with his slides and tells you what you'll need to know what you don't. Gives you a review sheet with the stuff he'll ask. Don't bother buying the $200 textbook and if you go from the pp you should be fine.
Professor Raj is great. He gives hints of what will be asked in his quiz. you need to dedicate time and study a lot because this course is about memorizing. He cracks jokes in his class and tries to engage his student. Yes he has an accent but if you listen and read you must pass.
Doesn't specify well what needs to be studied. Really confusing feedback in emails to the point where you have no idea what to do. wrong information posted in slideshows and on tests. Poor slideshows, just generally very confusing and hard to understand.
Raj is a great prof. His slide have everything you need for. His lecture can be dry at points, easy when go to class prepared ! He talks really fast when there is alot needed to be go throu, which make it hard to follow. You have to put alot of sit down time to study cuz there is so much material to memorized. When you put in effort you will pass!
His powerpoints is all you need (it's not that good but exams are based on it)and the importance of going to class is to take notes of hints he drops about which ones you should study and which ones you shouldn't. The class is really heavy and dry but Raj tries his best to make it fun! He is a fair prof!
All you need to do is follow the powerpoint accordingly and you'll do fine. It's a lot of information all at once, but his tests are fair. PLUS go see him to review your test as you will see some repeated questions on his final. I stopped going to class because I found it hard to understand him through his accent and how fast he speaks.
Raj is AWESOME! Took his Anatomy class last Winter. It was great. His powerpoints are the best. You can literally refer to them for the rest of your life! Anatomy is a tough course and needs lots of work. He tries his best to make it as easy and straightforward as he can. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!
i had Raj for Anatomy phys 1 and 2 and he isnt as bad as everyone makes him seem. He speaks really fast and for the entire time period of the class... His exams are very easy if u study his powerpoints. takes a while to study dont leave it for the last day. He tells u whats gonna be on the exam and what wont be and gives a detailed break down.
Raj is a very petty instructor, he once threatened to fail me if I forgot to write my name on an exam. His class attendance is extremely low and so he started to refuse to post exam review and only reviews what will be on the exam in class. He also puts slides in his exam that he knows we do not have to know and that we will not be tested on.
Raj is maybe these worst profs I have ever had. He spoke so fast and his accent made it almost impossible for me to understand what he was saying. His 50-60 slide powerpoints are straight out of the textbook. He got so behind in the year that we didn't finish 3 chapters in lecture and were expected to self-teach those chapters for the final.
Raj is a funny professor, but otherwise he lacks in many areas. He does not respond to emails very quickly, he refused to let me know what chapter were on the midterm even though I couldn't access it on BlackBoard. He made a rude comment about my name, he goes through slides far too fast and a lot of his slides do not make sense (missing info etc.)
I absolutely hated Raj as a professor. He just read the slides, very hard to understand, and he went too fast. By the end of the semester we were 5 chapters behind and only went over 80% of chapters on the final in the last 1.5 hours of class. His tests were okay if you follow his objectives but I learned nothing from him and did all self-study.
This class is rough. Raj's power points are straight from the textbook so they are wordy and confusing. He goes so fast and is very hard to understand. He gave us a midterm the last eeek of class. He didn't finish the course content so in addition to studying for the final we had to teach ourselves multiple chapters that we would be tested on.
I don't know why Raj has such a bad reputation with the last semester. I have him for both Anatomy and Physiology. Read his lecture notes and supplement them with reading. Yes, he left some chapters unfinished, but these courses are so condensed, it's not his fault. The midterms before the final did burn me out and that's the change I would make.
Raj is a great Instructor. His exams are hard but straight forward. He gives lots of hints as to whats on the exam plus exam break downs. If you listen to his hints and study guides you should be fine! The textbook is good for supplemental knowledge but you can get away with his power points alone, which are very detailed.
I took him for anatomy and he made the course very easy. the only thing I didn't like was the online assignments with wiley plus. his exams are easy. you can get an A in this course with diligent studies.
raj is a good prof but he has an accent and speaks really fast. But behind that it is YOUR commitment and hard work that helped you to prevail weather is human anatomy or physiology that u are taking. for courses like this you have to sit down for so long in order to memorize that chuck of info he taught.
Although Raj is a great person, his notes in class span from not clear to irrelevent. His lectures consist of him reading off slides, and when questions are asked he confuses the class more. On a lighter note, his tests are fairly easy and are basically taken word for word from the slide shows.
He's a nice guy but the course can be rough. Goes off on tangents that aren't relevant when time is already tight. Power points differ from text. Exam review differs from what actually appears on the exam. Stay on top of the content and write out good notes as you go so that its manageable at exam time, study hard. Do this and you'll be fine.
Raj is an awesome professor. He goes through so much information in so little time. Study from his lecture notes and then go more in depth in the textbook and you will get a good grade. Fair and light-hearted.
Raj, raj, raj... I know he has a good heart, but is just not a good lecturer. His test are super straightforward if you either study the textbook or study notes. But beware: the course goes a million miles an hour, so keep up on either of them so that you are always studying and don't get behind. Skip class? Sure, many people figured that one out
Raj was a very good prof for me. His accent can be hard at times, but I felt the more I paid attention the easier it was to understand. Also, all his quizzes are based on his PowerPoints, so the textbook is not mandatory, but still good to have for clarification. He tells you during his lectures what is exactly on his quizzes. Overall he is good.
To start: I passed this class by 1%. So far this is the hardest class I have taken. Raj reads directly off of his PowerPoints and he tells you that everything is going to be on the exam. I recommend using the textbook to study. You will have to buy the online code. He is kind enough to post a summary of what is to be on the exam - use it!
Pretty easy Prof. Had him for Physio and Anatomy, he puts everything on his power points, so I stopped going to class. If you can teach yourself he is an easy A. If you can't teach yourself then this will be a harder course.
Raj is the worst prof I've ever had. He speaks so rapidly and has a heavy accent so it's nearly impossible to understand him. The only plus is that his exams are fairly straightforward. The thing that really irritated me is that even if you go to as him questions, he can never answer them straightforward or explain things clearly. SO unimpressed.
Raj's lectures consist of him reading directly off of the powerpoint slides posted on Blackboard. He speaks extremely fast and does not explain topics well. When students ask questions he gets frazzled. You will need to buy the online access code for the textbook. He does tell you what you need to know for exams which are quite easy.
everything is based off powerpoints which are posted on blackboard. he is really hard to follow in class so you'll probably end up teaching yourself everything like me
Good Prof, does have a heavy accent but thats not his fault. At times he does go really fast but he does have a lot of information to get through. He is funny and tries his best to keep class interesting.
Raj has a great heart. He cares very deeply about his students and will make changes throughout the semester to benefit the students. You don't really need to buy a textbook as long as you buy the online WileyPlus code. Class isn't mandatory if you're an independent learner, but he does give little tips throughout test about what'll be on his tests
Mistakes on powerpoints, reference the text Content heavy so he blows through everything. Heavy accent Should've skipped class taught myself everything. Went to find out what was on the exam, some PP content you don't need to know Provides exam overviews, some more detailed than others. Exams have physiological element (functions and secretions)
Very straightforward, tells you exactly what to expect for his exams and wants you to do well
Raj is super funny and kind. There is so much content in this course, I had a hard time catching up with it while having 5 other classes. He reads off the ppts during lectures, so you don't have to go. He lets you know what things will be on the test. Best solution is to go through notes once a day because i struggled with that. I passed by 2%
Raj is funny and sweet He tries his best to explain but has a heavy accent so its hard to understand sometimes He tells you exactly what to expect on the tests He is not a hard marker but it is a very hard course so can't blame him for that You don't need to go to lectures but he does tell you whats on the exams and what the written during class
Raj's lectures involve him reading slides word for word from the powerpoints, and if anyone asks a question he becomes frazzled and struggles to answer it. Most students quickly learned you do not need to attend class to do well, so he implemented weekly quizzes which were very difficult. Do yourself a favour and take this class with someone else.
Nice guy with a good heart and is excited about teaching. He does his best to get through all of the content as this is a heavy-content class, but his thick accent makes it veryyy difficult to understand him. He jumps through powerpoint slides and doesn't do them in order so it's very difficult to follow along. I pretty much taught myself
I wasn't a fan of Raj. It didn't help that it was hard to get in touch with him out of class. The class content alone is nightmarish. Combine it with Raj's superhuman speed in walking through it, and it gets worse. He does have an accent that I didn't mind much except in certain times where he uses a new term. Tells you what's on the exam though!
Raj... He tries his best, but his best isn't good enough. His powerpoints for this class were a mess with normal sentences broken up into segments with arrows thrown in the middle. Very hard to decipher and learn the information. Despite having more time this class, he still rushed through the information and made it hard to stay caught up.
Raj was an amazing anatomy prof. He really cares about his students and basically tells you everything that will be on the final if you show up. He gives lots of practice questions that really helped and always gave outlines for exams. You don't NEED the book for Anatomy because he gives it to you in slides but it helps for assignments.
Raj is a nice guy, just not a great prof. He is hard to understand, his notes are a mess. He copy and pasted from the textbook in chucks (made no sense). He gives out quizzes for each chapter that are difficult! Get ready to study like crazy every single day to make sure that you pass
He's a nice & smart guy, but not the best teacher material. He's a bit all over the place. Tested on power points but the slides are so overcrowded with stuff it can be hard to make sense out of them.I learned most of the material on my own with the textbook. Because he talks fast it's very hard to understand him with his accent.
He is super nice and makes class enjoyable. He has an accent and talks through concepts quite fast but it is understandable considering how much information he needs to teach. He is so smart and knows the concepts he teaches well. If you show up to class he tells you exactly what is on the midterms and the final and uploads review guides for exams
Raj is a great person. He is funny and really nice. However, I do not recommend taking his class. His powerpoints most of the time make no sense. I basically taught the content myself with youtube videos and the textbook sometimes. His exams are fair and he gives u an outline for each one. Make sure you make ur own notes cause the content is heavy.
Raj was honestly not the best prof. If i was able to give him a rating i would go into the negatives. His lectures are useless. his powerpoints are also useless. honestly just teach yourself the whole course no point of having him. Also, the quizzes were one of the reasons why everybody's grades we so bad. AVOID HIM
He is a very kind and funny. His power points and lectures are a bit confusing , and lots of the information you need to review outside of class. However, he gives lots of practice questions and concise exam outlines. Additionally, he gives easy in class quizzes to boost your mark. If you put the effort in then you will do well.
Raj is the kind of prof who makes his students lives way more difficult than it should be. His notes have minimal information, and you need to do all the work by your self by searching up/reading when the courseload is already very very heavy. Additionally, he talks very fast and it is hard to understand with his heavy accent.
Raj talks really fast, and you have to listen carefully for his hints about exams. He basically gives out an outline for what you need to know and what figures you should pay attention to. His slides are basically straight from the textbook.
Raj is a great person his lectures can be a bit dull but coffee helps, the great thing about raj is he tells you what concepts you need to know and makes review sheets about whats going to be on the exams.
He is very caring and tries to make lectures interesting. There is just so much material to be covered in Anatomy that it seems very rushed. His power points and the textbook due set you up for the exams though.
I think people are too hard on Raj. Yes he has an accent and yes he speaks quickly but anatomy is going to be a difficult subject no matter the prof. He gives lots of hints throughout lectures so its definitely worth it to show up. Just study what he tells you to and youll do great. He outlines exactly what you need to know.
His notes and powerpoints are all over the place. The orders of the slides don't make sense and made us really confused to understand the materials. Unfortunately, Raj does not explain the materials in the class very clearly either and goes really fast. It's just a big struggle for his students.
I had Raj back in the Fall semester of 2014 and I can tell everyone that he is one of the best Anatomy and Physiology profs out there. Yes he talks fast and yes it may feel his lectures are everywhere, but his tests are fair and he tells you what will be on the test. So many people skip but I highly suggest against it or you won't pass class.
Raj may be a nice person, but he is a terrible teacher as he is disorganized and cannot manage class time. My grades increased when I started ignoring his lectures and working through the material 100% independently-- which you will inevitably have to do as he leaves at least 3 chapters to self teach for (new) final exam material.
Raj was better for physiology rather than anatomy. While he still talked fast, he was able to explain concepts in more detail and answer questions. He used kahoots to check class understanding, and I loved them! DO HIS PRACTICE QUESTIONS on blackboard, cause we always had some of them on quizzes/midterms/final for easy marks.
Absolutely the worst professor I have ever been saddled with. He's a disorganized and unfocussed prof that actively detracts from learning. Avoid him if you can.
I was worried to go into Raj's classes because of ratings but he teaches classes that are way too overloaded with content so he does not have a choice but to rush. However, he is extremely helpful if you need it and so knowledgable. Go to class, pay attention to his hints in lectures and do his practice questions and you will be fine!
Super tough class, Raj makes it more bearable though. He goes quick in class, but he has to for the amount of content. Didn't buy the textbook and got by fine. Show up to class and review consistently and the tests come straight from notes. Again, the content is easy, but there is A LOT- be prepared. Raj is very kind and willing to help always!
Dr Raj is an amazing person and prof. He really cares about his students and does his best to make sure everyone succeeds. Although the course was online and very lecture heavy it was well done!
Raj gives a very detailed review before exams, which is helpful to know what to study. His exams are directly from his PowerPoints, so the textbook is only necessary for the three online assignments. I only went to a couple online lectures and didn't watch a single video, and I finished with an A from only taking notes on the PowerPoints.
Great prof! He gives a VERY DETAILED study guide that helped me study for the exams! I didn't attend his lectures. I just looked at his powerpoints and looked at the study guide and took my notes from that. I occasionally used the textbook and watched his prerecorded vids in 2x speed for clarification if I felt that I needed it.
Raj is absolutely amazing! Such a smart and helpful guy, he really knows what hes talking about and wants you to succeed!
Raj is very passionate about what her teaches. He provides a lot of resources and gives very detailed exam guides which I found to be really helpful. Hes also funny and very accessible outside class. He provided so much detail either from his pre-recorded videos, ppt, or lectures that I never had to use my textbook. Hes a real gem!
A friendly teacher who provides a lot of information about what he'll ask on the exams by providing very detailed blueprints. His classes sometimes can be monotonous because he reads fast and because of the amount of content he has to cover in a short period of time. But, his exams are not that difficult.
Great professor with clear expectations, especially regarding his exams. I would 100% recommend.
Raj is so passionate about his job and makes lectures very fun. His exam criteria is very clear which makes studying a lot less stressful. He loves answering questions and tries to make our lives very easy. His slideshows are very straight forward. Pay attention to the little things he says about the exams
Very strong accent, talk too fast, extremally difficult to understand what he is talking during class. Has to re-study all the materials after class. He gives very clear lists for exam. Heavy class, has to memorize a lot.
Raj is a great person but super disorganized in his lectures and going through the material. I did not learn well from his lectures at all. I would leave some of the lectures super confused and did better by just going through the powerpoints and textbook on my own time.
Very organized, clear PPoints, which cover everything you need to study— yes he has an accent but his very clear midterm guidelines & power points make up for it. He’s SO sweet! For those who are blaming him for teaching too fast, honestly not his fault there’s so much content to cover what do u expect.. Love him as a prof!
Raj is a great person and passionate about anatomy however, he is also super disorganized in his lectures and goes through the material so fast, that it's impossible to take notes or understand what he is saying sometimes. He does give detailed exam reviews which are super helpful. Overall okay but wouldn't take his class again.
Raj is great! He has clear expectations and his test reviews are super helpful. This class is super content-heavy but Raj makes it fun. The only thing I don't like is his powerpoints have so much irrelevant content that he will straight up tell you some slides are not on the exam. He does give lots of hints about exactly what he will test on.
I really enjoy Raj's class. The content is very heavy however, he basically tells you exactly what he will test on. The exams are very straightforward and simple if you put in the work and study.
I would take Raj again. He can be difficult to understand in lectures and goes super fast but he gives great exam reviews. He also tells students what he will test on. Would recommend taking anatomy with him.
This course is very content heavy, but Raj tells you exactly where to focus and what will be on the exams. I did purchase the textbook but never ended up using it. If you follow his powerpoint slides you will do very well on his exams. He is super friendly and clearly cares about his students!
I am here to debunk every student who gave Raj a low rating due to his heavy accent because that is ridiculous. Raj does not need to change the way he speaks, he is an incredible prof who tries his very best. For all our videos, he made sure to add subtitles, so he goes through great lengths for us to understand.
I leave his lectures extremely confused he speaks so fast notes are not an option. I would spend many hours a night and pretty much all weekend teaching myself from the textbook.
Raj is very passionate about his teaching. However, he speaks wayyyy too fast and reads directly off his slides which makes learning very difficult. His slides are all over the place and he puts diagrams in them that make no sense. I often find that when I get home and try studying off his slides, I have no clue what I am reading or looking at.
Dr.Raj is great! the class consist of 3 midterms and a final which is daunting but they are not cumulative, once we finish the content on the midterm, he does not test on it again. he provides very clear outlines on what questions he will ask on the midterm, and will often straight up tell you the answers in his lectures to what he will test on.
The class is tough. Missing a single class will set you back a ton so try to attend them as much as possible. The midterms and final are lecture heavy, but you may need to reference the textbook for some information. Ask questions during the breaks and at the end of classes if you can, cause he goes through everything quickly. STUDY EARLY ON!!
Raj is a great guy but his slides are disorganized. This course is HEAVY especially if you dive into it straight from high school. Tests were easy and he tells you everything you need to know, but I found that was the only benefit of going to class. I would avoid him for classes where you have to understand the material and not just memorize it.
Raj is a really good professor and knows the material very well. He talks very fast sometimes, and it can be difficult to write everything he says. His tests are very fair, and it's really attainable to get a good grade in his class. He truly wants his students to succeed. Didn't have to buy the textbook for this class which was nice.
Excellent prof! He made tough stuff seem easier to understand, and his funny classes were the best. Exams were very fair because everything he taught was in them. Gonna miss it!
I like how he gives a clear outline on what he will be testing on which makes studying easier. This course is very lecture heavy so putting in effort to study is important in order to do well, but the exams were very easy if you studied for them. I found his exams easier than the ones I took in bio 30 during highschool
Raj is a sweet and kind professor- great sense of humour, and I love his energy! LECTURES: not mandatory; He reads off the slides and expands for extra understanding, but the extra commentary is not tested. EXAMS: he gives a pretty clear study guide for what will be on the test. ORGANIZATION: info on slides are very disorganized.
Raj is great! He's sometimes hard to understand but suck it up and figure it out! He goes fast during his lectures and his slides are disorganized but honestly he tells you what you need to know for the exams AND gives you a review. You just have to put the effort in and study which is hard for first years to grasp
Dr. Raj is approachable and humorous. Start studying EARLY and REGULARLY. Although his PowerPoint is sometimes confusing, his fast speech and heavy accent makes it hard to understand the lectures, if you stick with his study guides and memorize what's on the slides, you are good to go. I can't ask for a better anatomy teacher, he is a gem.
The only reason I'm not dropping out of this course is because I really need it. Raj is an okay guy so far but it's sometimes really hard to understand him and lowkey makes you feel dumb. I asked about one definition and he straight up told me to refer to the textbook even though I didn't have one. He cracks jokes sometimes which lightens the mood.
Charismatic and engaging, and teaches at the speed of light. Slides are very comprehensive. I never used the textbook, and I believe it was a mistake. The amount of outright memorization is punishing in this course. I highly recommend always pre-reading the content before lecture; otherwise you are always on the defensive of catch-up. Study. STUDY!
Raj has an amazing personality... But I am not a fan of his lecture style or his slides. The slides are disorganized and hard to understand. Lecture were not helpful, Youtube Academy is the way to go. On the good side his tests are fair, he also provides study guides, pre-recorded lectures and loved to offer extra support if you need them.
Raj is a sweetheart! Slides have all the information you need to know for the exams (3 midterms and a final), and virtual labs are easy. He's very enthusiastic about teaching!
HLSC120 is an extremely content-heavy class. That being said, it is very very clear what is being evaluated in Raj's class. He posts extremely helpful exam review materials and nothing should come as a surprise. Super transparent professor. Do not rely only on lectures to get by, you need to put in lots of effort independently.
I found his explanations hard to understand, & goes through material quick. Powerpoints seem to be all over the place & repeats info which is confusing. Going to class isn't mandatory, but he will provide hints on what won't or will be on the exams. Do his practice questions! Found the final to be more difficult than his exams usually are.
Raj is very funny and kind. His tests are fair, follow the study guide!! Only issue is his slides can be slightly confusing/unorganized, but his test questions are not super specific and he could definitely make it way harder. Didnt use the textbook but still had to pay 80$ for McGraw hill for useless online labs which was annoying. Love him tho!
Lots of content to cover, but Raj does an excellent job of getting through it all on a clear timeline. While I found myself writing lots of notes his slides and lecture were very helpful. And he post clear criteria of what will be on the test, just that they are hard tests since there is so much to cover. Read his slides and textbook to do great
Raj is an engaging professor. His tests are challenging but fair if you stay on top of the material. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for preparing - highly recommend.
Very engaging and caring professor! Wish his slides and presentation were just a bit better but overall found myself able to do well. His grading criteria is clear and for as long as you follow the textbook, keep up with the content, and approach him for support you will do well in his class :) Don't rely just on the lectures!
Is very funny and knows how to keep class engaging. At one point in the term, he just read off the slides and provided no additional info whatsoever. Very helpful exam guides tho! puts exactly what he says on them on the exam.
Genuinely one of the best profs I've had. He made the class seem easy and was really funny. Midterms and finals are easy since he posts reviews and clearly states what will be on the exam. The only thing I did was go over that review, and I did pretty well on the midterms; he just goes super fast with slides.
He could've made tests way harder than they were but never did, and for that I'm grateful. As far as his teaching style, every class felt like review for stuff you should've learned years ago, whole time this is your first anatomy class in life. Imo as long as you read the textbook, you're gonna do well.
Straightforward exams taken straight from the PowerPoints. Use the textbook for diagrams (as those are on the labelling parts). His study guides are what got me through. If you study based off the guide and slides, you will be prepared. He just reads off of them during lectures.
