4 pop quizzes, each of which are worth 10% of your final grade. No asking questions during quizzes. Doesn't really have a good teaching style. Relatively unreasonable. Avoid this professor. And if you have him, hope your TA is good.
worst professor i've ever had at ucr
Class is easy, most important thing is to have a fair and understandable TA.
Doens't know how to teach
I hated this guy! He changed the syllabus, made up everything as he went along, accidentally failed an entire discussion section-MINE! The punk didn't curve.
Best Professor I have ever had.
One of the most caring and intelligent teachers I have ever had. Take his classes and you will see why.
Teaches OUTDATED (1970's) information. Unacceptable at the graduate level. Biggest waste of a course so far at UCR, my advice is take this core course when someone else is teaching it. Raj needs to retire.
The good: Very nice, flexible, good grades, frianldy The Bad: Lazy. Repeats anecdotes. Sometimes misses class.
He is not only a great person, but also a great teacher (VERY INTELLITGENT). He highly respects his students and their learning abilities. His lecture are clear and helpful. Exams/pop quizzes are OPEN BOOK and OPEN BOOK. Just read and you'll have no problem finding the answers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Okay, these guys rated his upper division bsad class poorly. But believe me, his BSAD 10 class is sooooooo chill. He is a really practical guy with nothing up his sleeves. Its all about this SINGH!!! Highly recommend his BSAD 10 class, trust me.
this guy is the bomb, open notes and book, quizes are the same as the excersises done in class, he is the bomb, no homework either, it is all about the singhmister.
his class is EXTREMELY boring. there is seriously no point going to his class, just read the text book and you'll be fine.
One of the most intelligent professors i have ever met. You dont have to worry about cramming and memorizing subjects in this class its all about common sense. He's like a grandpa telling you war stories except his is about what he did to get to where he is at. Smart guy chill class the best!!!
Amusing professor at times, should go to lecture, doesn't curve, no homework, 8 quizzes but it's all open book/open notes same for midterm/final. Tells you what chapters are covered on quiz/mid/final. Super easy class group project is a cinch, discussion is mandatory. Posts lecture slides online.
i cant emphasize how EASY his class was. his exams and quizzes are straightforward, no tricks. he makes little math mistakes every now and then, but who doesnt? and unlike some professors that pretend they're right, he corrects himself the next day if he doesnt know how to do a problem
Very knowledgable and caring for his students. Lectures are kinda boring, but he has important words of wisdom to say in his classes. Funny at times. Highly recommended.
VERY EASY CLASS! open book!!! he seems like a nice teacher and gave out a lot of extra credit. i ended up with an A+!
a very nice professor.. he tries very hard to make you understand what he's trying to teach..make sure you go to class though.. becuase some of the midterm questions is exactly the problem he does in class.. midterm was open notes and open book
Open notes and open book group Midterms. Just need to do well on the individual final and you will get an "A". A very nice professor.
if ur gonna take this class, def take it with this teacher...open notes for quizzes, midterms, and for the final.
Take this class with him if you want an A+! He's not the best professor in the business department, but he definitely is the most generous grader! Prepare to listen to stories irrevelant to his lecture topics...he "forces" his students by giving out pop quizzes and random attendence for points.
really laid back
coll, laid back, open book quizzes and tests!
His tests and quizzes are very straightforward and he really wants everyone to do well in the class.
He is a cool professor and has open note/book exams for BSAD 155. Advice: READ before taking exams and you will ace the class!
hes very cool and laid back. everyone does well in his classes
Awesome teacher! wants everyone to get a good grade. makes class fun and informative. materials are presented in a good manner./ this prof. i highly recommend
Worst professor. Ignores you when you try to talk to him. Does NOT give you partial credit so that if you mess up in the beginning, you are basically screwed for the rest of the midterm or final. Doesnt even know the equations, he has to ask the students if hes doing the problem correctly on
he tries to be helpful, but is horrible at explaining things...but at least its open book and notes, so you just rewrite the problems with the new numbers even though you dont know why you're doin it...make sure u go to the TA sections, thats where u actually learn whats goin on in the class
Hilarious professor! His accent can be funny at times and his jokes are stupid funny. If you get a chance, make sure you take him. Open book/open notes, even though he might say its not the first day of class(just to get students to drop). Easy-going professor!
His classes are the best by FAR.
So far, he's the most generous professor i have ever had!! tests and quizzes are open book and open notes and he gives extra credits too!! his classes are easy, and it's a shame not to get As in his classes!!
He is a very cool and nice professor. He is very understanding and his tests are open book and open notes. I suggest you take him because he is very good professor and explains very thoroughly.
A for sure!!!
I had for a class. Mid-terms are always easy but it's the final that you will get screwed. Easy going professor, but very lazy which is not good. Trust me.
Open book open note exams and quizes for a math class....what's not easy about that?? Just double check your calculations!!
Do not buy the book!!!!!! Biggest waste of money! Just go to lecture and take notes and check your calculations and mininum you'll get a B!!!! No curve :(
a GUARANTEED A. what more can i say. just make sure that you do well on quizzes and exams. btw, he believes in all the exams should be open book/open notes.
OPEN BOOK/NOTES on all tests! But his notes are really REALLY messy! Sometimes unreadable. Nice guy, really cares about you doing well. Take GOOD notes and you should be fine. Don't buy a book. SOOO NOT NECESSARY!
Although his exams questions can be confusing, it is open book and notes. The first two exams are even done as a group. However, the final is done individually and time-consuming. This course is pretty interesting and will help you in the future. He is my favorite professor. He actually cares for his students and their education.
I aced everything, quizzes , midterms and when i got into a group project with a randomly selected group, my group bombed the project. i dind't get an A in the class. can you believe that and this ****teacher won't curve me. whata load of crap! it isn't my fault the groups retarded.
Open notes open book. Really easy. Also gave out an additional 20 points of extra credit for coming to class and presenting the group project. Don't be fooled by the open notes open book thing though. It might take you the whole test to figure out where the stuff is in the book. Overall, still a great teacher. I plan on taking him as much as I can.
Don't bother taking this. Yes, the tests are open note but the final exam is too long to finish. The group project, too, is utter rubbish. You might as well take this class with a professor who cares about you learning the material
disorganized
he is the ****, great teacher
his class is open notes but the final was super hard! he is also very disorganized and unclear
open book and notes on both the midterms and the final! AWESOME i got an A in this class. take him if you get the chance!
I've had singh for BSAD10/121/126 now and trust me, he is one of the best and easiest professors. If you get the chance, definitely take him. He has open note/book tests so it makes it even easier. He moves along at the students pace so the class isn't hard at all. He is really the****. Go to class though, or u'll slack and mess up and hate him.
He is great professor. He is not to difficult. But one must attend Discussion and lecture in order to do well. His class is open note and hes always willing to help. Can not ask for a better professor.
Even though he may be considered easy by most students, he is always late which leaves you wondering if he is even going to show up, he leaves during tests so you can't ask questions, he has no control over the class so you can't hear him lecture, he makes you watch boring movies regularly. Not professional at all. I LEARNED NOTHING FROM HIM.
He is a great professor! Go to all his lectures because there are pop quizzes. Know how to do the problems during lecture because the problems are similar on the exams. Open book and open note for exams. Must take this professor!
each pt. on the quiz/exams is 1% of your grade. everything is heavily weighted so get as many points/partial credit as you can. Solved problems in class with no connection to applications or real life. basically you solve problems but don't know why. this is one of those instructors you take and forget.
Either you attended all the classes and passed or you missed a couple of classes and your grade went down. Professor does take attendance at random and adds this as extra credit at end of quarter. You do need to keep track of your scores.
A good professor. You only need to do homework and follow his lecture. Test is opened book/note, so be careful with calculation during test then an A is easy. For this class, text book isn't really needed, so I don't recommend to buy it (it's thick and expensive >_<)
Cares a lot about students and tries to do his best to be helpful inside and outside of class. Takes attendance randomly for extra credit. Gives pop quizzes. Open book and notes for midterms and finals
Singh is still one of the best professors. He listens to his students and goes at their pace. If you don't understand something, he'll help clarify it. Class was a little boring but wasn't bad. Open book, open notes, group midterm and quizzes. Final is directly material from the book. Occasionally gives out extra credit. What more could you ask for
Good guy, good professor, learned a lot of stuff. this stuff is definitely useful if your a business major, so even tho he lets u not show up to class, open book open note, you still should pay attention for your sake... but he's a genuinely good guy.
Granted it's easy to get a decent grade (open book/notes), he is the most disorganized prof I've had. Definitely not my idea of UC-standards, but then again only a few are at this school. Bases the classes ability to comprehend the material on a couple individuals so you probably will get lost in the curriculum. But if you want to learn, stay away.
Easy. Class should of been condensed to a 5 week course, it's a waste of time to have 10 weeks of this. Professor is unorganized and takes so long to explain an easy topic, I lost interest fast. Has good ratings because he is easy, not because he challenges you. But then again, most students at this school only care about the grade(it's UCR).
This guy is brilliant. Anyone who begs to argue should take a second look at his credentials. He received his phD from USC. His class is pretty ez it does not require much work. This is college if you want to learn you have to challenge your self and read the book, come to class and ask questions otherwise sit back and enjoy your ez A.
Dr.Singh is a very nice professor however his lectures dont help you at all for the test. The only reason you must go to the class is for the pop quizes and if you miss one, you're screwed. it's 20 pts which is almost half of your midterms. just study the details for the finals and you will be fine. other tests are easy bc it's open book open notes
Really easy class. open book and open note for all midterms and we got a cheat sheet for the final...really easy professor.
Singh is a really smart guy, knows his stuff and will teach you actual real world situations! His lectures are actually fun to attend, and you will actually learn! Open book, open notes for tests, and you get a cheat sheet for final. Have to attend his lectures, gives 5 pop quizzes that equals a test grade!
As a senior-By far the best professor on campus.A)Actually really cares about student. B)3 Quiz-T/F, 2 Mid-Mult., 1 Final-Mult.(Don't be fooled by the test type. Still need to do the work. C)You will learn more real world info. than any other course. GREAT PROFESSOR who makes it REASONALBLE to get a GOOD GRADE. Should be a Required Course & Prof.
Prof. Singh overall I would say he is a mediocre teacher. His lectures are boring as hell but you have to go if you want to get a good grade. Pop quizzes are frequent and you can't make them up. If you do go to all of his boring lecture I supposed that an A is certainly attainable. Group project for this class was quite useless.
Pretty good teacher. Helps you a lot. Everything is open book and easy until the final which is closed book. It's a ridiculous final and the class average is a D on it so be sure to study hard! DOn't expect help on your grade, i got an 89.5 or somethin n didn't get an A- haha :(
Boring, but easy class. He has pop quizzes but they are open book. His midterms are also open book. But the final is closed and a little hard. Overall easy class
Professor Singh is really chill guy. He gives out a lot of extra cred so be sure do it. His midterms are open book, but I suggest reading the chapters beforehand. The group project is cake, but the final is fairly difficult since it isn't open book. He allows a cheat sheet which I recommend you make very detailed. Overall, its pretty easy class.
The professor is really nice. Two midterms are open book and open notes, but final is closed book and closed notes with a cheat sheet allowed. Reading the chapters before the midterms are very helpful and recommended. Do not take this class for granted. It is easy as long as you pay attention.
During his lectures, he always goes on tangents. Lectures are pointless EXCEPT on quiz day. Always attend discussions because that's part of your main grade along with the final.
Really nice, generous guy but don't take it for granted. He gives out a lot of extra credit. ALWAYS SHOW UP ON QUIZ DAYS. You're guaranteed to get an A in the class as long as you do all the extra credit and actually read the book.
pretty easy. the group project freaking sucked because you have to pick groups before you know anybody, and you don't get to know how badly your group members' work ethics suck until it's too late to switch groups, but i still got an A, and he tries to be as helpful as possible. easiest midterms and final ever. good teacher overall.
Prof Singh really cares about the students, he knows that bus10 is a breadth course for other majors and doesn't make it very difficult. Do all the extra credit assignments they're very helpful if you miss any points on tests. Open book mid terms w/a cheat sheet final. SHOW UP EVERYDAY in case there's a quiz; if you miss if you're screwed.
Dr. Singh is a really great professor. He gives everyone a lot of wiggle room so you can get your A. The extra credit really helps in the end. For me, it was the difference between a B+ and an A-. He's approachable and always concerned with his students. Don't skip class, because there are a bunch of quizzes (easy). Final is hard. Be prepared.
2 midterms. 1 final(Worth 200 points). 3 pop quizzes. 1 group paper. 2 extra credit opportunities. Takes random attendance so make sure you go to class. Study hard for the final.
He is a good teacher and is always trying to get everyone to pass the class. Midterms and quizzes are open note/book, so make sure you read the book so you know where things are. There is also a quarter long project that wasn't that bad and actually helps you understand business a little bit better.
He's very easy. If you read the book thoroughly you will get an A, since all the texts are from the book. And even better, he wants you to get an A. Also, don't stress about the project too much, as long as you follow your TA's instructions you'll be fine. Also he shows you some cool videos about business as a career, those were my favorite!
easy easy easy. take this class and your quarter will be a breeze. all midterms are open book open note. final has one page notes front and back. all test questions come from the book. group project is simple
Professor Singh was a very helpful professor. I have had 2 classes with him so far and he is always very concerned with the students progress. His teachings are straight from the real world and he gives strong examples to support his teachings. I highly recommend taking a class with this professor.
Professor Singh was amazing! One of the best, most inspirational professors I've ever had in all honesty. He really cares for his students and he's a very nice person.
Singh is an awesome teacher! 2 midterms open book, final 2 page cheat sheet. Gives out a lot of extra credit! Group project is a hassle but also easy. Quizzes are random so attend lecture! EASY CLASS.
easy midterms and final! the midterms are open-book, and you can use a page of notes during the final. i barely went to class, and never really studied for the midterms, but still passed.
Best professor ever.
Rambles too much
very easy if you read the textbook. both midterms are open book and final allows 2 page cheat sheet. one tip: do the extra credit assignments, he gives alot and they are fairly easy
pretty easy class. didnt attend most lectures but he gives pop quizzes towards the end of the quarter. 2 midterms both open book. final is pretty hard so that is something you need to study for even with the one page cheat sheet. discussion is super important
Rambles too much, is the reason why i am no longer a business major. Boring, a little arrogant too. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Rambles a lot. Goes off into tangents a lot too. Talks a lot about business people. He gives extra credit, but not too much. Big projects worth a little of your grade. But open note open book midterms, and the last one (aka final) is a two/four page cheat sheet.
Prof Singh is awesome. For the students who are actually passionate about business, you will enjoy him. He is extremely approachable and wants you to succeed in this course. Also, you must purchase the textbook in order to get an A.
Class is pretty simple, but all of the tests are basically word for word from the book, which makes them damn near impossible to Ace. However, Singh gives you chances to boost up your grade with some extra credit and group projects.
Lectures were a little boring but helped in understanding the material. However, he's not as boring as other professors out there. There are two midterm in which he allows you to use the textbook. The final is not open book but he does allow a cheat sheet. He also offers extra credit so its easy to get a good grade.
I was already interested in a career in business, and Singh only got me more excited and enthusiastic about the business field. His class is really easy and straightforward if you read and prepare with a "cheat sheet". There is a mandatory group project where you have to present to your discussion class. He is really nice and wants the best for us.
It was an easy class until the final. The two midterms are open book but have to read the book carefully to answer the questions. The final is closed book but one page cheat sheet; it's word for word from the book so it's terrible. There is an individual paper and a group paper that includes a presentation. Tough A, but glad I took it over summer.
2 exams open book, final one cheat sheet straight from the book.
He is one of the best Business professors at UCR. He is extremely helpful and makes you feel like you belong. Singh s very inspirational and an overall very good professor. You should be lucky if you get him!
he was cool
He's a really nice guy, but his lectures are super boring. 2 open book midterms and 1 closed book cumulative final. He takes very specific, irrelevant lines from each chapter on the exams, which makes the final very hard. He gives a lot of extra credit, so make sure to do all of them; they will seriously help you boost your grade.
There's enough EC assignments to boost your grade. One group project that lasts the whole quarter but isn't hard at all.
He is an easy professor. Three tests - 2 are open book and four pages of notes. One is not open book but you are allowed four pages of notes. The last test was brutal though. It is honestly a hit or miss if you know the information. It will be one random line in the chapter. Do the extra credit because it will truly help your grade.
He can be hard to understand due to his accent but not too bad. You should study for clarity because it may not be clear during lectrue
Gives out a lot of extra credit assignments. Homework assignments are all due by the end of the quarter. Be sure to get 1010 on all of those because this class is passed on how many points you have. One group project presentation in discussion by the end of the quarter.
DON'T MISS CLASS. Missing just a few points will be the difference between an A and a B. You can only miss about 45 points before you drop to a B from an A. Discussion attendance is easy points so DON'T MISS. This class is an easy A but you have to put in the effort and do the assignments, even when it seems dumb. DON'T MISS ANY POINTS
I took Business 10 (Intro to Bus) with him and he was amazing and very passionate about teaching. One of the best professors i've had here at UCR and he is always there to help his students. People will say that his lectures are boring but students complain about EVERYONE's lectures because they're more than an hour long. Overall great professor.
Singh is really clear and easy. He has a lot of experience in the business field and always gives advice to students. The midterms are open book and are really easy but the final is closed book with a cheat sheet and it's super hard. You can recover from it as long as you do all the homework assignments and do good on the group project.
Seriously, is he the only prof. in UCR for bus 10? His class is just too complicated for introduction class. Tests are hard but worth relatively few points and focus on annoying group project which wasn't really helpful and time consuming. the subject mightve been more interesting if I had another prof.
I don't recommend this professor. No idea why rating is so high
I am taking this class this summer with this professor and it is confusing and complicated. Never want to take this professor again.
It was a pleasure to take Intro to Bus 10 with Proffesor Singh. He is very knowledgable in the business field and it open to helping students succeed in his class and in the outside world. If you read the book that is assigned and listen to his lectures you will get good grades in the tests. I would definitely take another class with Prof. Singh !
He's okay... I'd take other professor if I could though
The lecture section is long but helpful. Professor Singh makes sure everyone understands the section before moving on. Class is mandatory due to 3 pop quizzes. Open book/notes. The discussion section is somewhat helpful for the group project. Be prepared for a business prompt and 10 mins presentation. Attendance is mandatory due to points taken.
He's a good professor. His class isn't hard, but you need to read the chapters assigned to pass. There is 3 quizzes, 2 midterms, final, a group project, and some small presentations. On the tests he would let us use the textbook and on the final he let us use a cheat sheet. He has an accent but it isn't hard to understand. Overall good.
Great professor, very humble, and approachable. There are 3 quizzes, 2 midterms (open book), and a final (closed book, open notes). Gives extra credit opportunities! One big group project that involves writing up a business plan and includes a presentation at the end of the quarter. Don't miss points! I was 6 points away from an A-.
Everything is based off of the book. The answers to the homework, quizzes and tests were found in small hidden details you *might* know if you did the reading carefully. The first 2 midterms were open book and the final was open notes ). He's really cool and cares about the students. Huge group project, you'll spend a lot of time with your group.
Raj is a great professor. He has a good sense of humour and is very compassionate with students. I love Raj because of his personality.
Introductory course should be simple. But not only he makes his class complicated but his syllabus and TA's slides were outdated. Many times, the actual due date were different from the date listed on syllabus which made our group confusing and made us rush. Besides, our TA graded the report unnecessarily hard and many ended up horrible grade.
Amazing professor, i had fun taking this class.
I didn't even show up to class. Only went twice, which were when our midterms were. Easy class. The exams are in chronological order (open book exams). Just remember that when you choose your business group, choose dependable people, because you will work with them a lot. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS. THEY UR GRADE A LOT!
Really nice & caring. Open-book for exams #1 & 2. Open notes for exam #3 ( 2 sheets on both sides, or 4 sheets on 1 side). 5 online hw (20 Qs per). 2 short essays (e-portfolio). 2 papers (group & individual). 3 group presentations (2 essays & paper). Bring your book for 3 pop quizzes. Book info is a bit different from lecture. Raghav is a great TA.
Lectures a bit boring. Homework on iLearn & not due til week 10. Do the extra credit; helps w/ grades. 2 open book exams & cheatsheet final. Really read the book for final. 2 e-portfolios. Bus plan group project kicked my ass. Good professor & tries to engage students w/ questions during lecture but it turns awkward when nobody answers for a while.
Clear that Singh has a passion for his job. Boring lectures. I know the final screwed everyone over. I know it dropped two letter grades (ie. A- to a B) for a handful of ppl. Definitely need to read the textbook to pass. Txtbk sold at the bookstore for this class is "edited" by him so there is only material he teaches in there.
Professor Singh is extremely kind. His class is very simple. His exams are open book, quizzes are open book/note or take home & for the final, you get a 4 page cheat sheet. There is 1 group project that you work on the entire quarter. If you do what you should, class is extremely managable. He offers a lot of extra credit as well.
Very passionate about business. The textbook was an easy read, and the exams were definitely fair in evaluating our knowledge. Homework was helpful to study for the exams. Group project to turn in at the end of the quarter, but fairly easy.
A little boring, but learn many things. Many credits.
Amazing. Very kind and understanding and definitely knows what he's talking about. Class itself is not actually hard, just basic common sense about business over the world. Midterms are open book and he even gives us a cheat sheet for the final. Overall, very good professor, made me less worried about my first year of college as a business major!
Professor Singh is very attentative to students. He really encourages good study habits in students and will extend extra credit due date. Midterms and quizzes are open book as well, so overall pretty easy class.
He always asked everyone "are you guys good with that? Make sense? okay". Very caring professor and gives extra credit. His lectures are boring. The midterm and many quizzes were open book but still, people got like a B or C on them. He is the GOAT and I loved his class. I would see him again in my upper divisions.
Raj Singh is a very respectful and nice professor. His tests are open book, but the final is four-page open notes and not open book. There are three pop quizzes, so attendance is mandatory. There is a group paper, a few group assignments, and an individual paper. Tip: study as much as you can for the final because it is a little hard.
Rajs grading system is very fair, as he allows you to use your book on both the midterms and any pop quizzes. Study hard for the final (cheat sheet allowed but no book) and do extremely well on the business plan as these two are usually the determining factors when it comes to your grade.
So the class is pretty laidback. There are 2 midterms, both open book, as well as smaller assignments. Main things are the business plan and the final. Study hard for the final as it tends to drop everyone's grade by a letter or two. Raj is super caring though if you go to his office hours he will take time to help you with your grades etc.
I could not have asked for a better business professor. His lectures are often entertaining and engaging. He has a genuine passion for teaching his students and will put in the effort to make sure everyone succeeds. Although Raj does not curve, he offers multiple extra credit opportunities. The final, without the proper preparation, is difficult.
Such a nice man! The class itself is super boring and I fell asleep in every lecture. But the work is easy, lots of extra credit opportunities. There is a chance for a pop quiz in every lecture so you have to attend so you wont miss out. Went to his office hours because I was confused and he gave me extra points on my midterm for going.
A pretty nice and passionate lecturer. The class material itself is kinda boring, but easy to learn and not hard to study. He lets you bring in a cheat sheet for the final exam. Has 2 midterms and 1 final, and 3 pop quizzes (but they were always held the lecture before each midterm and final). Not hard to receive an A as long as you put in effort.
Dr. Singh is nice. He makes lectures too boring and sleepy. He gives some extra credit and his exams are open book. SHould be an easy class and honestly going to lecture was kinda a waste of time because I felt so sleepy in his class. I wish he could be more interesting and I wish the class wasn't held at the UV.
Tests are open book, so long as you read your textbook or listen in on lecture you're good. I probably could've done better if I didn't screw up the tests. But he also offers a lot of extra credit. Group projects are a thing but they're not too difficult if you know how to manage your time. Otherwise easy class
Raj Singh was a nice and understanding professor, but his lectures were pretty boring. There are a few pop quizzes to make sure that students are attending lectures. The midterms are open book but you should still read the content beforehand. The group project is crucial so make sure to prepare for it early on. Also, do the extra credit! It helps!
The most boring class ever, you'll fall asleep. He is not a good lecturer too. The only reason I even go to class because of the pop quizzes. Midterms are open book, the questions are situational, not straightforward. Have fun working on the business plan, it is hell.
Raj was a funny and caring professor, never failed to make us laugh. Go to lectures so you won't miss the pop quizzes (very easy). Do ALL of the extra credit assignments and don't procrastinate on the business plan! The quizzes and tests are concept based and go to office hours for extra help on all quizzes/tests. Buy the book from years after 2016
His class was very easy. You just have to read the book, take notes and study for the exams. There are 2 midterms which are open book, 1 final which is open notes, and 1 group project.
Raj Singh is a great Professor! The class a group project you have to with other students in ur section and it due at the end of the quarter. He has a lot of hw assignments but they are easy and gives extra credit. There is 2 midterms which are open book & the final is closed book with cheat sheets you can use.
He's an amazing and inspiring professor. He really wants everyone to understand the broadness of business, whether it be the financial aspect, or the marketing aspect. He's very nice and respectful. You can talk to him after class if you have more questions. There is a group project, but its self explanatory. Amazing professor and businessman.
Raj Singh doesn't care about your grade, he cares about your learning. He'll go out of his way to make sure you understand, and will try to give you credit once he knows you do-- sometimes even after you got it wrong the first time. Took him for MBA stats at Chapman Univ, and appreciated his helpful approach. He's a good man and a good instructor.
Tough grader and focuses so much on grammar errors
Raj is a good professor when it comes to teaching and trying to get his students to learn business concepts. However, on exams he gives tricky questions and ultimately screws peoples grades over on the final exam and final project. I had a 96% before taking the final and ended up with a B+ in the class.
His grading is so unclear. He doesn't explain the assignments as he has his better TA's do the heavy work for him. I looked around class one time and there is at least 3 people sleeping. He really plays nice when he needs a good evaluation. He doesn't care about us and he's a show-off.
Professor Singh is an approachable individual. You should read the book to achieve high grades for exams. Do not stress over the in-class quizzes and homework assignments. You must interview a manager for the individual paper. Also, the group will submit a written report. There is a case competition for groups. You should attend discussion classes.
Textbook is not needed. His lectures are super boring and hard to pay attention to. The class isn't hard just do the assignments and you are good to go!
Best Professor at UCR. He is so nice and approachable with students and always ready to his help. Pay attention during lectures and finished all assignments.
Best Professor at UCR. He is so nice and approachable with students and always ready to help. Pay attention during lectures and finished all assignments.
Professor Raj is one of the best business professors at UCR. I've had him for BUS010 and BUS107, in both classes his lectures are heavily influenced on definitions. Making note cards is a great idea for his classes as there are many things to memories. Aside from that he is really nice and truly cares about his students!
The compassion and enthusiasm seriously radiate off of this man. He is a very positive professor and you can clearly see how much he wants his students to succeed and be successful. His exams can be quite a challenge unless you REALLY REALLY carefully read the book. He uploads lecture slides and the group project assignment isn't bad at all. 10/10.
Just a great guy that really cares for his students and WANTS to give them easy As and teach them something while doing it. Most of the books he assigns are found free online with a bit of searching. Only problem is he's not the most tech savvy but gets the job done.
Professor Raj is hands down the best professor at UCR. I've taken him for 3 quarters now and I will be also taking him for my last quarter here. He is the most caring and nice professor ever. He always makes sure you are doing good and if there is something going on he will give you extensions. His lectures are very good. Make sure to participate.
actually accommodates students (esp during COIVD). Always willing to talk to you during office hours and help you with anything he can. You do have 2 Quizzes and he will inform you when it will be coming. Everything is in the syllabus & if confused ask him bc he will explain everything. Incorporate his teaching to real-life. will have group project
accommodating to students dur COVID. Willing to communicate w/students & help them learn. 2 quizzes that will be notified to you during class. Sometimes takes attendance &other times he doesn't through iLearn. You can choose who to be in group projects with (if have friends you can do it together). Teach &correlate materials to his real-life skills
Honestly, professor Singh can be a little nitpicky and he picks very specific material from the books which forces you to read. But that aside I have never seen a teacher care so much for his students. The material can be kind of dry sometimes but he does his best to spice it up. Honestly a solid professor and an incredible individual.
Nicest professor at UCR! Raj is really caring and lenient in terms of grading and assignments! Attendance is mandatory, but as long as you do all of the assignments it should be an Easy A.
Raj is the best professor I have ever taken! His class outline is very straightforward: - (T/F + Multiple Choice) quizzes - (T/F + Multiple Choice) tests - 1 group project - homework assignments (gives you entire quarter to complete) Attendance is mandatory but overall the class is very easy! Raj truly cares about his students.
The homework assignments are very flexible, the quizzes are mostly true or false, as well as the tests and midterms. The group assignments are easy, but the final project consists of more work but very straight forward. Differently recommend taking this class with this professor.
Professor Singh's class was alright. His lectures are recorded but sometimes boring since they aren't very engaging. However, he is very nice and cares about his students. Tests and one group project make up a majority of the grade and it's based on points, which can sometimes be difficult. Overall, I would retake but it wasn't the best experience.
Professor Singh is definitely a great person. Very caring, interesting, and is fair with assignments. He definitely likes participation and will remember your name if you are up front. Tests and quizzes were not hard but studying will do justice. Would definitely recommend :)
Professor Singh does not round grades he uses a strict point system. With an 89.7, my grade wasn't rounded up :( HIs lectures are alright and his classwork is easy. The group project and tests are a majority of your grade so make sure you don't miss too many points there.
You'll meet lots of people in this class. He is very kind and very respected. He's very interactive with the students which is nice. Test are super easy, which are basically True and False questions.
Professor Singh was very nice, but his lectures can get a bit boring. There is a large group project for this class so make sure to stay organized when working on it. Overall this class wasn't too difficult as long as you put in a reasonable amount of effort.
His lectures can get heavy, but he is an amazing professor.
professor singh is an amazing individual, but his class was one that requires tremendous amounts of reading. at times his questions on tests would not be related to the chapter. The midterms were open book - average was a B. The final covered 6 chapters without using the textbook - avg was a C. Don't be worried but just be prepared for this class.
Taking notes of his lectures and doing the required reading is key!
professor Singh is really passionate about what he teaches and you can tell by the way he teaches. No attendance for his lectures, but slides are posted on canvas. Offers a lot of extra credit (8 points for fall 22). Final exam and big group project make up most of your grade. Homework and quizzes are easy T/F questions. A lot of reading.
Professor Singh was nice but his tests and class were terrible. The lecture was boring and everything he covered in class is in the book. The tests are worded terribly and the class average was in the forties for the final. He tries to make it easy by letting the exams be open book and cheat sheets, but the average was a C and below for all exams.
- Good amount of quizzes and tests -Don't freak out they are either take home or easy -He is VERY laid back and actually provides great insight -Final was difficult. he prepares you but still difficult All in all, You will love it and for a first year class. welcome to UCR and you will do well. DO NOT FREAK OUT ABOUT THIS CLASS OR PROFESSOR
He was great but often the wording on tests and quizzes made it difficult to understand
The Midterm and final were a bit hard but the lecture has good and clear. Take notes in the lecture and the reading, it is important to have the note for tests. There will be a big group project, but the grading really depends on who is your TA so don't freak out during the first few weeks, it will be fine if you do your work!
literally the goat i love raj singh. fr though the class is relatively easy if you don't think it is ykwim. basically don't think its all just "common sense" and "i can just go to the lecture and be fine on tests". read the textbook and study your notes and the exams are easy. the group project is also easy just get it out of the way early.
The lectures can be dry at times. There's a decent amount of group work as well. That said, he's very caring for his students and you can tell he wants us to succeed. His passion is contagious.
Lectures were quite boring and bland, but he does care a lot about student progress and provides extra credit. Exams were open notes, but it was quite hard as the wording of the questions made it quite difficult to understand. You are expected to do a big group project during the quarter which is worth the majority of your grade.
Prof. Singh does a good job of conveying his passion for teaching & I appreciated how he genuinely cares for students. I found the class content interesting as it focused on intro to business concepts. There's a group project that is worked on throughout the quarter. There's EC and unannounced quizzes so be sure to do the readings from the textbook
Class wasn't too difficult in total but quizzes and tests are pulled directly from textbook so read in depth and take notes, as lecture content is not as heavy on the test. Lectures were a bit bland and hard to follow and make sure to focus on final business plan project as it's quite important and focus heavily on studying for midterm and final.
Surprisingly I passed, even though I failed every test and quiz he gave out. Honestly, this class is just common sense and you'll pass. He also gives out extra credit once in a while when you go to his lectures (he won't tell you when). There's a lot of reading and if you do the reading you'll pass the tests and quizzes. Overall, easy to pass class
Although his quizzes and exams can be challenging, he does provide extra credit once in a while which can benefit you a lot. Exams and quizzes consist majority from his lecture slides but also from the required textbook. He doesn't mention when he gives out that extra credit which is why it is important for you to attend the lecture.
Make sure you read the book and know where the information is cause he lets you use it on the 2 midterms. The more familiar you are with the book, the easier it will be for you on the midterms. Don't procrastinate on the group project. Ask your TA for feedback on it in advance so you can make adjustments. Only a cheat sheet for Final, no textbook.
The Professor was good at teaching the class and taught instructions very well; I would take it again. However, the TA Nabh Agrawal wasn't great; he picked at the littlest things and was very tedious with grading. Professor gets a W in my book
He was amazing I loved him and I am going to miss him. He is very caring and class is pretty easy. I definitely recommend for people to take this class.
Went out of his way to schedule a makeup exam for me. Super friendly and flexible. Only heavy work for the class is the group project, but the exams are easy(open book/note). The final allows for two cheat sheet papers.
A lot of reading required. Lectures were very boring. Gorup Project is not fun either. Exams are extremely tough despite how the rest of class feels. Don't treat exams lightly and it should be an easy A with the curve. Just get a B and the curve will boost you. DON'T BE THE CURVE.
The professor is very passionate about the subject but his lectures can get really boring. I did a lot of reading for the class quizzes were not too bad but I didn't on the tests or the final. I might be unprepared for the final but some questions do be questionable. He offers some extra credits. Experience of group project depends on your members.
I had an absolute blast taking his class! Very clear syllabus and grading structure. The class content was honestly not very difficult and he is always available for help. I do however suggest picking a reliable set of people for the group project, as that could tank your grade pretty badly. Attend lecture for extra credit opportunities.
Great professor but beware of the tests - some of the questions he puts on there are the most random information. Not applicable to real work environment. Buy or rent the textbook because he lets you use it on the exams but not the final.
His tests are sincerely the worst: most of the class bombs them because they're filled with irrelevant, randomly specific questions that were probably mentioned one time in the past. 70% of the questions are from the absurdly expensive textbook and sections he did not teach in the lecture. After he nukes your grades, he offers office hours.
Okay in general, tests are tough and some qs are kind of weird. Lectures were helpful in my field but tests, not as much.
Super easy. he is adorable and cares so much about his students. his lectures can get boring but not too bad. quizzes are online. barely any homework. highly recommend
Really nice professor and cares a lot about his students. He gives lots of extra credit. The only thing that made this class a little difficult were the exams.
One of the top professors at UCR, the man is an inspiration he has so many degrees and hes so chill. But the class is really dependent on the text book, so read up.
extremely confusing and unclear lectures with difficult tests
Professor Singhs class is very relaxed. I will say it is based primarily on lectures but his slides are always posted online. He is also very kind and understanding and provides a lot of extra credit.
Amazing, cant recommend him more. He was always their when you needed help. Do choose a good group for your project because most of your grade depends on your group. Other then that he was amazing.
Dr. Singh is a very good business professor although his lectures can be boring at times he explains everything professorially and all the quizzes and exams are open notes.
Professor Singh at face value is good; and by good I mean that he is not not of value in the role of professing. I rate him a 2/5 because he makes no clear effort in trying to reinforce the value of an introductory business course that he should. The content of the course is graspable but all exams/quizzes become semantical because of this.
Dr Singh genuinely seems to care about his students, however, he doesn't disclose the value of the textbook on the exams, his lectures tend to go either too fast or slow, and exams are presented odd with what feels like foreign information, if you are active about success in the class, you will achieve it, he is kind and generous in grading.
Professor Singh was my first business professor at UCR and I must say that his lectures and assignments really helped make the class interesting and useful. Each chapter of our class' textbook was easy enough to understand and filled with examples of modern business application as well. I recommend this class for students even wanting a taste!
You can tell he's really passionate about what he teaches, but his tests and lectures feel like two different classes. Quizzes are really free points but finals are heavily application based and nothing like what is covered on quizzes/lectures.
the best way to get a good grade is to do all the homework and extra credit if you can, because the test questions are full of random things that are only mentioned once so they're kind of hard, but your grade is based on lots of other things too. also you get to use your notes on the midterms which is really nice. the group project is annoying :/
He's a very caring professor and makes sure that you're able to get the most out of the class. Be sure to read the textbook, but overall he provides a lot of opportunities for you to grow as a student.
Genuinely one of the best professors I've had, the exams did include a lot of the material from lectures so I recommend attending. The exams are also really hard but he offers a lot of extra credit, so trust me its fine to fail an exam and the get an A if you do ALL the extra credit.
Very nice and caring professor. Lectures aren't mandatory, but he gives extra credit if he sees not a lot showed up. Exams are pretty tough, more application-based, barely includes anything from the lectures/homework. Provides lots of extra credit opportunities. There's a quarter-long project, which can get annoying if you don't pick good teammates.
The exams are really difficult, including random details from the textbook. Unless you're prepared to read and thoroughly understand the entire book, this class may not be the best choice (don't take it). The professor seemed passionate though
Reasonable in terms of grading. He's really lenient in class such as allowing cheat sheets/book on midterm and two sheets for the exam. Also very forgiving on extra credit opportunities. The exams were doable as long as you followed lecture/readings. Group project isn't graded hard and is fairly simple.
He is a good professor in terms of expanding on the materials during lecture. He is very patient, allows cheat sheet and gives extra credit. However, his exams are very tricky and quite difficult. Lots of questions are scenario based and very obscure. Discussions are for a big group project presentation.
He is solid professor. Good at explaining & sometimes over-explains himself to ensure we'd understand. Will allow students to create cheatsheets for exams/final & all quizzes are open-notes. Hw assignments are basically quizzes 2.0. Group project is easy if given enough time. The final was a bit harder than expected; DONT solely rely on cheatsheet.
Honestly one of the best professors at UCR. He gives lots of opportunities to get extra credit. He takes attendance a couple times randomly throughout the course. Allows noted for exams. You should have no reason to fail his class.
Great guy, overall easy class, lectures are heavy, the work is easy, easy grade
Raj Singh is so easy he saids that he will curve the who class if the final is low. The only you will fail is if you don't show up to 1 or 2 class and don't even open the canvas the only way to fail is to not even acknowledge the class. Very easy must take.
Great, easy but attend lectures
Greatest professor Ive ever had.
Overall it was an easy class, he allows unlimited paper cheat sheets for the quizzes and midterms, and two pages front and back for the final. A lot of questions are situational, or come from the textbook or sometimes from the lecture. As long as you go to a few lectures and read the textbook, you should be good.
Tests and final exams have a lot of situational/real-life scenarios, which can be a bit challenging. Reading the textbook and going to the lecture helps with the exams and the final. The professor also offered a lot of easy extra credits to boost grades, and the group projects are very important and do impact your grade.
I had him for my honors leadership development class, and loved it! The lectures were so insightful and aligned with the textbook. You do have to read the textbook for the quizzes, but he allows open book for the first two and the last you have a 2 page cheet sheet which is really helpful. Participation and attendance matter. Overall a great class!
Very respectable and loved him as a professor for BUS010! He allowed cheat sheets on exams and quizzes and always explained topics well!
