If you have her for Bio 115, you will work by yourself. She is very helpful outside the class but during the class, she wants that you come ready with your own notes. She explains the chapter a little bit. The exams are a little hard and based on your notes (the whole chapter ). No extra credit. Quizes after every class.

I took Raji spring of 2016. She was absolutely amazing & sweet. She made me so interested in Microbiology. Her passion and experience in the subject is unremarkable. Her lectures are very interesting and never failed to amaze me. She writes down important notes on the board, so make sure you write them all down. Be ready to study and enjoy her!

I won't lie, the material is tough, and her lectures are full of material. She makes anatomy so interesting so if you're into it, i would highly recommend her. the tests are hard, but she posts practice questions and review questions. study them, and you will be fine. i would take her again for any other science class.

Dr. Raji was AMAZING! She set everything out for the students in the beginning of the class. Very straight forward, extra credit given, but you work for your grade. Dr. Raji is extremely knowledgeable, and her lecture is amazing. Have some practice questions and online quizes after each chapter, but they are easy. Take note everything she lectures and writes on board, review carefully her study guides and power point, then you will be fine in exam. Anatomy & Physiology, microbiology are classes that required students to dedicate time to learn the contexts and understand it. If you want to excel in these classes you must give your 100% Prof. Raji will guide on learn what it is need, but you must be disciplined to do well. Overall, if I wish I could take Prof. Raji for my other bio classes.

Dr. Raji was a brilliant and creative teacher! I definitely recommend her to anyone who wants an interactive and informative learning experience. I had the pleasure of taking BIO 142 (Anatomy and Physiology II) with Dr. Subramanian in Summer 2020 at NVCC. This course is heavy in material but Dr. Subramanian made an incredible effort to help students understand the subject matter and how it applies to our lives. Her exams are fair and straightforward application of the textbook and labs. She gives extra credit for every module. The material requires time and effort, so there's no way around it. Dr. Raji provided a powerpoint for all the modules, as well as a video of the powerpoint with her giving a lecture. And I believe this helped me so much, she breaks down concepts to make it understandable.

She is understanding, gives guidance, and provides more resources to go through before you write an exam. You have the textbook, she posts her own PowerPoint, study guides, sample research papers, videos, and so on, and ensures all her students get the information she is putting across in the announcements. She is focused and precise.

Show up to lec for useful info! Class has 3 lec & 3 lab exams, plus the lec final. You have lab book quiz HW & extra cred open book quizzes if you show up. Attendance matters, but I missed quite a few classes and still got a low A. STUDY GUIDES are ESSENTIAL for exams! Show up to lec/lab and study repetitively with flashcards and you will get an A!

Honestly, she was not the best professor I have ever had, but she was definitely not the worst. If you focus on the Pearson questions (she uses them), go over the study guides, stay on top of the lab homework, you should do good. She does give extra credit in class to so make sure you show to classes!

Incredibly knowledgeable professor who makes complex microbiology topics easy to understand. I was nervous at first, but her clear teaching made learning enjoyable. The “Discover the Unknown” lab project was my favorite—it felt like being a detective. She's patient in class and responds quickly outside of class. Very approachable and supportive.

Microbiology is hard no matter what. However, Dr. Raji teaches the course in a way that makes it easy for her students to understand. Her lectures are interesting, labs engaging, and Pearson homework is helpful. Tests are a little difficult but she does class study sessions before each one. Highly recommend! i took dr. subramanian for the 12-week summer course for bio 142. she offered extra credit, 2 attempts for quizzes, and a handful of lab assignments/discussion posts that were easy to complete. assignments took weeks to be graded but she responded to my emails/questions. course load is manageable but requires lots of reading/preparing for exams.

Doctor Raji is a very intelligent and kind professor, Anatomy in general is a very hard class, but she makes it easy to understand, this class is just memorization but even with that exams are straightforward, as long as you use your time well with studying, use the study guides provided, do the HOMEWORK you will succeed. Take her!
