Excellent. Probably the best math prof UD has.
Sometimes seems to expect perfection. Very helpful in office hours.
The best math prof at UD, the most helpful prof ever in office hours, Great Guy
Not impressed, half the class failed the last exam. Somethings wrong there.
Approachable. If you have trouble, DEFINITELY go to office hours.
he says tests are just like homework, sometimes they're not
Horrible advisor...didn't listen to a word i said...thinks math is #1
Why was he teaching an engineering course? Didn't teach us anything new.
Good teacher, helpful during office hours. Focused on math, very impersonal.
sitting in class = watching grass grow. the lack of challenge is appalling.
Very unapprocable! Not a good professor
Teaches material poorly and his class is VERY boring.
The most boring professor ever... tests are nothing like hw
Excellent lecturer. Very clear and thorough. Best math teacher at UD.
grading is questionable
Very clear with lectures. Notes were very helpful and tests were very fair.
A bad teacher! Run somewhere far, far away if you have to take his class!
The best prof. in UD.
He is awesome! Interesting lectures and fair exams.
a great professor...explains things well.... he gives lots of partial credit too
Excellent teacher, explains things very clearly. Can be picky with grading.

he seriously needs to drop his sidekick, Dhurjati!
He is ridiculous, someone needs to fire him
Someone needs to get another teacher for that class. he is unfair!
rakesh needs to get a piece of what he dishes out
great proffesor. tests can be hard, but are graded very fairly
Great teacher. easy to follow lectures. If you don't understand it's you, not R

goes the extra mile, trests are based on understanding, not reiteation
If you are a dry erase marker, run and hide my friend, run and hide.
Excellent teacher. Very clear, lots of examples. Good partial credit too :)
The best lecturer I have ever seen; always motivating the material, clear and coherent.
Amazing teacher, TAKE HIM! he's fair and explain things well. Tests aren't bad, just do the work and you'll do well
Tests are hard. Doesn't give a review sheet. Will always go to extra mile to help you understand the material though. Talks very quietly and has an accent though.
Good teacher. Very flexible with office hours. If you study hard, you will do well
Very good teacher.Predictable tests. Very helpful. Has the BEST accent. The best math teacher i've had..a VERY smart man.
Hardest math class I've ever taken. Extremely smart guy with minimal teaching skill. Have to ask extremely specif questions to get help. Gives good partial credit, but expects you to know things ahead of time
Excellent teacher in all aspects. Only one problem for straight'A' students: there is always only one 'A' in his class.
very helpful and very good at explaining everything.
Used over 30 dry erase markers in one winter session, but he is a very good teacher. He is the best math prof i have had at this university.
Very good teacher. Uses a lot of examples that resemble what the tests will be like. Unlike other math teachers in this dept hes helpful when asked.
Take this class if you like being challenged
good professor, explains things well but tests are hard. curve at the end of the semester.
wore the same red sweater every day for the winter session. but he's a pretty good teacher and tests are just like class examples
Most difficult math class I have ever taken. Very nice guy who tries to help you out, but he is also very confusing.
He's a nice guy, but he doesn't have a clue how to teach. All he does is go over examples, and give homeworks that you could never figure out without lots of help. He is a little helpful at office hours, but unless you go every day, or you already took Calculus 2 or BC, you won't get it.
I took him for honors, and I had to drop out. The class was full of people who had taken Calculus BC in high school. He never stops for questions and mumbles at the board. He only gives examples, and never shows theorems or explains what he is doing. It's true wears the same stupid sweater every day
Took it during W05. Teacher is great but the class is hard. You MUST do HW, and then get help on HW next day. This will give you c+ ->b-. Teachers lectures give you about 60% understanding. You have to do HW and go to him for more help to get a good 80-90%.
He's real nice and tries to help, but i took BC in HS and did real well and yet had a lot of difficulty in class-projects took hours upon hours- i hate maple! but he's smart and willing to help you out. a bit confusing
Very difficult class. I'm a math major, and am at this point praying for a C. Very difficult, specific tests (5 questions, partial credit). Doesn't explain the material, just gives basic examples, yet gives impossible test questions. Do the HW (wish I could heed my own advice).
Rakesh is great. Very knowledgeable and good teacher. Tough class but course load is pretty reasonable. His accent is never tough to understand. RECCOMENDED.
Great teacher. He explains everything in detail and with examples and then makes you use what you have learned in applying it to his difficult homework projects. Amazing course that really challenges and teaches.
Great teacher. Always explains and derives equations and ideas. Always do the HW they really help on tests. He likes to give 1.5 hour tests in 50 mins so be prepared.
Great teacher. Took a subject that I had no desire to learn and helped me get a good grade. Free response test actually help you out, he gives alot of credit for correct procedure rather than correct answers. Seems overwhelming at first, just stay up w/ the work. (Summer class)
Very hard class, but maybe that's just because I took honors? Difficult to follow what's going on in class even if you try. Hard homework and hardly goes over the answers, hard tests, hard take home projects. On the other hand, if you go to him out of class for help, he is great.
One of the only decent math professors at UD. Very good at explaining material. Class is not mandatory, but you would be foolish to not go if you're in the honors sect. Maple projects are really hard, but he is a very lenient grader. Glad to help out of class.
Professor Rakesh is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. His tests and projects are very challenging, but there is a lot of extra credit. All material is explained very clearly (sometimes he moves almost too slowly), and if you do not understand something, he'll help during office hours.
He goes really in depth and makes sure you know why and how everything works. That being said, his classes are a bit harder than the normal, but if anyone were to teach well at this level, it would be him. He is very friendly and works well during his office hours. Overall good teacher
Professor Rakesh is awesome. Although his tests are hard his grading is fair and explains things very well. Office hours are helpful. Do the assigned hw and you'll be fine.
Rakesh is such a great professor. I'm a freshmen, but I can already say he will be one of the best, if not the best professor I will have had. Go to class and pay attention, he makes sure you understand every bit of the material. Cares heavily for his students and wants to see them all succeed in the class. Outstanding professor.
I loved Rakesh! At first I was really nervous about taking this class honors, but in the end I was glad I did because he's a great teacher. The in-class part of the test is usually not too hard. The take-home part is harder, but he gives you a whole week to finish. Start the maple projects early and go to him for help if needed. I recommend him :)
Honors is a lot more difficult from the regular section that Rakesh teaches, but if you want a challenge, then this class is good. Rakesh is an excellent instructor and explains clearly. In the honors section, it's not hard to do well as he tries to curve so no one gets below a B-. That being said, getting an A is tough most years, 95+. Still good
Awesome guy !.. one of the best professors i have had so far! Office hours are the best! Homework problems may be a bum but it builds u up for the test which is all from the homework he assigns.
Very good at teaching and getting the point across. Class isn't bad if you study what you did in class that day. I found him to be very rude. I thought I understood something, but didn't, (bad quiz grade) and he assumed I skipped the TA sessions and didn't do any homework, then continued to accuse me of wasting my parents money.
two things i'll tell you about him:1st,he bans some equations which are actually very useful;2nd. he ask about definitions in tests,in MATH test he asked definitions!! And for my entire life, i never met any other math teacher did similar things above!!!!!!
Rakesh is the man. He is the reason that I finally learned analysis and how to properly do proofs.
It is very, very important to go to class because he does not always teach straight out of the book, but he expects you to know his methods. Quiz every week on the HW. Overall not difficult, just a lot of time needs to be put in. Plus he's really nice.
Iǘe been around math for a while and I've had several great teachers and Rakesh easily makes it into my top three. His class might not be easy but you'll never say it is the hardest class you've ever had and most important of all: you'll learn from him to UNDERSTAND math and not only to manipulate the symbols. Extremely helpful, polite and cle
the class wasn't the easiest in the world and the homework assignments were a major pain, but it isn't hard to get a decent grade. he understands that the class is difficult so he gives people B's as long as they aren't clueless.
Class material starts out pretty easy, but by the end of the semesester it is HARD. Assigns a lot of homework problems, which gets annoying. You will work hard if you want an A, but it's not impossible. Go to office hours (because I never did!). I do think he is a good, knowledgeable teacher, but the way he explains things is sometimes confusing.
Rakesh is absolutely AMAZING! He is really helpful if you reach out to him. If you can't make it to regular office hours, he will usually be there whenever you ask him to be. He is really nice too. Just do the homework (even though it's not graded), go over the notes, and you should be fine in his classes. Rakesh is the man!
Rakesh is honestly just a great dude. his class is tough and you need to put the time in to get the grade you want. i botched the final exam so i went down to a b+. despite the difficulty level, i feel like i learned an extreme amount, very in depth, and had a good time doing so. a lot of people i know retook him next semester just becuz he rocks
While taking this course, I loved Rakesh. He's so adorable and fun and very helpful during office hours. It is an extremely hard class however and I felt unprepared for the tests despite doing all of the homework. He's also a bit of a tough grader, but you will survive!
Rakesh was always willing to help students whenever they need clarification on material. For me, the material got much easier as the semester went on, so don't worry if you don't understand it immediately. Go to him for extra help and he will make sure you understand everything.
Taking this class with Rakesh was a lovehate relationship. He was a really cool and interesting person, however his class was unnecessarily hard. Too many homework problems that don't matter and the tests are extremely hard. I would definitely recommend another professor unless you are really into math and physics.
Rakesh is the man. His tangents were life changing. Tests questions involved a decent amount of thought, but if you understood the material they were not difficult.
Nice prof. Great explaination. Good class constructure. But be prepared to have 3 mids and 1 final which means every month you have a mid and during last 2 weeks you have 3rd mid and final together.
Very tough grader and teaches Engineering Math 1 like a class for math majors. He rarely would go into the logic behind the trickier concepts, but would do a full proof as to why the simple stuff worked. Worked constantly behind in the course, and did not cover close to the same amount of material as the other profs did and is a VERY HARD GRADER.
Rakesh is INCREDIBLE!! This class's material can be pretty dense but he explained everything so thoroughly and gave us a solid review of previous math classes to make sure we had the foundation to learn this class's material. He truly truly cares about his students and really made an effort to get to know us in this online class. 11/10 just amazing
He is an awesome professor. He acknowledges that most students taking Math221 have no interest in learning calculus so he goes out of his way to explain topics for different types of thinkers. He cares about his students and doesnt make you feel stupid if you dont understand something. Class consisted of web assign problems and daily quizzes.
If you can, definitely take his class he is one of the best math teachers Ive ever had.
He is a great prof he teaches the material in a way that students without a strong math background can understand he cares about his students too
Although Math 503 was fairly challenging, professor Rakesh did a good job in making it as simple as possible and helping the students in the class understand the material. Just make sure to do the homework's and understand the material gone over in class.
I highly recommend Professor Rakesh! He is an amazing, caring professor and always helps his students. He is very intelligent and very approachable. He cares about his students' understanding of concepts and will meet with you if you need help, sometimes even asking to meet just to help. His exams are not hard as long as you do ALL the homework.
One of the best professors at UD. Goes super slow over topics and can be a little repetitive, but it is worth it. A hidden gem in the math dept.
Rakesh isn't fit to teach this class. He was often unorganized during his lectures and he did not teach the material clearly. Do not take this class if you haven't taken Calculus 2/BC before. He makes his tests and quizzes very difficult and he doesn't prepare you for them. I took this class pass/fail and honestly regret not dropping it.
