Mr. A is cool, he can be a little wierd at times. But he really wants you to learn and he will stay after to help you. He is also very accomidating to everyones needs. I did get frustrated with the other people in the class not respecting him. Tests were semi hard but he gives you a study guide that if you do it you will do well on the test. :)

Professor Ades knows ALOT! whomever wrote the previous comment has a bad attitude! He is extremely patient and explains things well.Doesn't assign a lot of problems,tests are not a huge part of your grade. Some students in the class took advantage of him which was rude and immature-he needs to control the classroom better.

DEFINATELY knows his subject. Really wants his students to learn and WANTS to be a better teacher. Has no accent so is easily understood. His tests are fairly easy if you study; lots of homework. By the way he dresses, think he's probably single.

MR. ADES IS A GREAT TEACHER. HE TAKES HIS TIME TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL. SOMETIMES LATE BUT I WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN AND RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS TO TAKE MATH.

Good instructor, very easy grader who really wants you to get an A. He has a stutter which can sometimes be distracting, but as the course goes on it becomes less noticeable.

Don't go with your first impression. At first I thought he was an arrogant, unkempt jerk. Luckily I was wrong. He's super nice, super helpful, and probably a little too easy with his grading. His tests were easy too (open book; EASY take home). I got an A; I probably deserved a C. Just show up to class, make him think you care, and you'll do great.

Started out seeming like he had this strict syllabus, w/ a ton of hw, & like it would be a long difficult class but he ended up pushing back tests & hw due dates to give you a chance to do better & giving out study guides & going over them in class to help you do good on tests. I hated math w/ a passion but learned a lot and passed. Great teacher.

He is awesome. He loves to help you... He goes out of his way to help you. He truly cares about you and your understanding of the material. By far the sweetest teacher.

i really hate math, but this professor cares & is willing to help his students. We were given a take home test and he lets us correct our mistakes on tests for some points towards our grade. I would recommend this teacher!

He is an awesome teacher. He explains everything very well. He loves his students ans wants them to all get an A. If you dont get something all you have to do is ask and he will explain it again until you understand it. People that rate him low probably dont ask questions in class. I would highly recommend him.

Took him for Math-60 and he was awesome! He goes above and beyond to make sure you understnd everypart of every assignment. He even allows a take-home mid-term! I ended up missing his final, and he let me do a make up....a take home final! He is awesome. Looks a lot like the late actor 'Peter Boyle.'

Professor A is a wonderful teacher, he explains everything and will go over any problem, he comes to class early so if you need help he is there for you. I was scared to death to take math over intersession in five weeks. He made the whole class worth while, Highly Rec.

I'm not good at math at all. Ades made it clear. He does copy directly out of the book, but it's great. He is extremely nice and will help you understand when you have a question. He writes out every step for every problem he does. He does get a little too frustrated over small things such as talking or leaving mid-class, but he is still great.

Mr. Ades is a wonderful teacher overall. Hes a great person and is VERY good at teaching. Im horrible at math but with his help and detailed notes everyday, he made me understand everything easy.

I am terrible at math and always have been I was sure I was going to fail this class but Ades really helped me he even tutored me before class well anyone who wanted help. He is a excellent professor easy to talk too and funny at times. He is awesome I would definitely take him again. Oh yeah I ended up passing his class with a B.

Professor Ades is a teacher who really knows how to teach and he will help you out by providing example to solve the problem (including quick fix skill to solve the same problem), and he is very honest, righteous,encourageous and kind gentleman. If you don't choose him as your first priority, it's definitly your loss.

Although the teacher can seem a little dissorganized at times his methods helped me understand something that is a foreign language to me.

At first I was apprehensive about his style but I quickly adapted. I have never had a teacher explain math in a way I could understand, and he nailed it. Gooood teacher, he gets a little mad when you ask for an extension on homework because that HW is all online, so if you have crappy Internet like mine that got in the way of a few assignments, be prepared! But he is a good teacher.

Gets irritated with students who play around in class. You're there to learn the material so pay attention. He also helps you out if he finds you sitting in the learning center. Great professor!

Mr. Ades is such a great teacher! He's very helpful and don't mind to repeat himself over and over again, he find different ways to explain the material if you dont get it the first time. Most amazing teacher ever! I decided to take Dr. Marder for math 70 and I had to drop it. Next semester I'm definitely taking Mr. Ades again. He's so nice and repeats himself as many times as you need. He's even willing to teach you after class and during break time. Totally recommend him. He's one of a kind! :)

Great professor. He definitely has your best interest at heart so asking him for help when you need it is the best thing you can do. Do your homework! Many of the test problems are either similar or identical to the homework problems.

Mr. Ades is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I hadn't been in a math class in over fifteen years and he made sure I understood everything, and would even talk to me after class to make sure I knew everything that was covered that day. Take a lot of notes, do the homework, and put your phone away. Tests are based off the study guide.

Beyond one of the best professor i've ever had in AVC ! He is really understanding and has patients with his students. Pay attention to his lectures and do the homework !! He does give out study guide for the exams which are nearly examples of what is going to be on the test so practice! 3 exams and 1 final NO textbook required

Mr Ades is one of the most caring instructors I have ever encountered. He takes the time to break down complex subjects into simple terms and always answers the questions, no matter how dumb they may be. He makes sure to keep the class together on board before moving to the next topic. His exam reviews are very thorough. There are no surprises.

Didnt expect to get the material down so easy which is crazy since Im working every day of the week I did not think I would have time to study but he made his lectures is to understand and the test were similar to his study guide. I would recommend him if anyone just wanted to pass math 115 just dont fall behind.

Professor Ades is the BEST teaches AVC college has! He is the most genuine professor I've ever taken. I am horrible at math and I was so afraid of taking this stats class but he made it so easy to understand. He shows different ways of learning the material that the textbook doesn't show. Professor Ades was one of the best math teachers I have seen on AVC campus this far. Its literally an easy A. He is very charismatic. Long as you show up and pay attention youll pass his test on average, anyone who doesnt is an outlier. 1 is just like 2 but different right? Lol. ;)

A natural at teaching. Breaks problems down to the smallest detail and keeps it simple without being monotonous. Very lenient on HW, but necessary to do them to keep up. Reviews concepts 3 or 4 times or more if anyone asks. Genuinely kind and very patient. Tests are short, 10-16 questions and may grade on curve. A rare talent in academia, take him!

He's a great Professor really ,I actually learned and Math is not my best. He makes sure you get it before moving on and helps you so much you actually leave his class wanting to take more Math classes. You want to learn and pass take him I wish I would have taken him before.

This statistics class is known to be a difficult class with a lot of formula and calculations, but Prof. Ades made it easier and super enjoying. I never got bored in his class at all. It was always an interesting class for me. I learned a lot in this class that helps me now in other areas of study and work related graph interpretations.

Professor Ades simplifies stats so that you have a thorough understanding behind everything. We had to transition to online due to COVID-19. He will take as much time as you need to make sure that you understand the material. He has homework for each chapter and the exam review and study guide are just like the exams. If you questions ask him!

I've always hated math so I dreaded this class but he was amazing! I took him over the summer 2020 and he's such a nice, caring teacher! I understood everything because of how he would teach. For every chapter, there are about 10-15 questions for HW, 3 exams, and a couple of discussions. If you pay attention and do your HW you can pass with an A.

I took Statistics in the summer, and hes easily my favorite Professor at AVC. I had to retake it with a hard professor b4 him, and Im so glad I took his class. He doesnt make you feel stupid for asking a question, and will help you until you get it. Hes very thorough with explaining things. Attend every lecture and youll pass easily.

Professor Ades is truly an amazing teacher. Ive taken other math classes multiple times and had a hard time passing. Hes so patient, thorough, and caring when it comes to his student's. Never made you feel dumb or like a bother asking for more clarification. Listen to lecture, ask questions, study for those exams, and youll most likely pass.

I hate math more than I hate most anything else in the world. Professor Ades made learning math fun and easy. He used real world examples and what I learned from his class has helped me with the math in Econ and Chem. He takes the time to help you understand. If you show up, pay attention, and participate you will easily get an A.

Statistics with Professor Ades went well for me. He gave multiple real life examples which helped with my understanding. He provides a free online textbook. Also, the tests are on paper and you are given about the whole class period to complete them. I thought they were fairly simple, as what we do on the study guide we do on the test. I recommend!

Before this class, I have NEVER passed any math class with an A. This was the easiest class ever taken. He is caring, will always help no matter what, and is understanding. He knows what he's talking about. His lectures are great. Tests and quizzes are super easy and based on EXACTLY what we learned. I wish nothing but the best for him in life.

If you need a stats class take his class. Hands down the best math class i've taken in my life, pay attention, take notes and try to understand, you'll pass easily. Homework is easy to do if you attend lectures, exams are passable if you payed attention.

He's the best professor! He helped me a lot and explained math in a way I could understand. For Deaf or OSD students, I highly recommend taking Math 115 with him. He respects accommodations and makes sure you don't feel left out. Very supportive and understanding teacher.
