Professor Castellanoss online communications class was straightforward and well-paced. Each unit had clear due dates and criteria and he took the time to comment on each of our discussions. He responds to emails promptly and was really nice. Each lesson gave real life examples or applications of what we were learning.

Overall, awesome teacher! Grades all assignments in a timely manner, directions for each assignment is clear and to the point so it's not hard to understand. For me comm was very difficult because i have anxiety as is, although he is a great teacher i wish he would be more specific when it came to grading and understanding public speaking isn't everyones strength. I would be able to wing it more but you actually have to memorize your speech word from word which was annoying.

I feel bad for not reciprocating the degree of communication he provided me. Be ready to do at least one paper a week. Overall good pace and clear expectations.

I took COMM 100 online with Prof. Castellanos, and I really enjoyed it. It's pretty straight-forward - take notes on the lectures, discuss, take the quiz, move on. The quiz questions are all almost word-for-word out of the textbook, so having the book with you makes the quizzes nice and easy! Interesting material and great discussion questions!

Mr. Castellanos was my professor for an online class I took and it was the very first online class I had ever take and he made things so easy for me. Hello. I took his online class during spring intersession and was expecting the class to be difficult but it was not that bad. He did not change the homework schedule and stayed on track. He offered 1 extra credit assignment and accepts late work for a short period of time after the due date. Which was convenient.

I don't particularly like taking online classes because they can become quite confusing, but Communications 100 online was a good experience and I actually learned a lot. The textbook was great as well, just be ready to read a lot, as that's the majority of the class along with discussions and quizzes.

My experience was quite good with Prof Castellanos even though the class switched from in-person to online. However, I did an online class before so it was a piece of cobbler for me. Though my small nitpick would be one more speech or something like that, I feel I got the most out of that.

I would definitely love for Professor Ralph to be my professor for all of my classes because his grading is so easy and he understands the inconvenience people may have during these times and he lets us get a chance to turn in some late work because some of us didnt have time to do it on time.

He is one of the caring professors on campus and ensures that you will succeed with the grade you desire. Before the pandemic, he would lecture via PowerPoint, and students work together on speeches or activities. After we went to online classes it was discussions, chapter quizzes, an abobe spark speech and a two-page single-spaced for the final.

He was a very good prof. His work load was very día able and very easy he allowed student to express themselves when writing papers and was not as strict as many expect. Over all he was a very good at teaching.

When I first attempted a fully online class I ended up withdrawing from it, but I gave it another chance with this course and I now look at fully online classes with positive views:) Easy A!

Great class overall. I loved the ted talks that we watched for class. Professor Castellanos is very nice and clear on what is expected on the writing assignments. Just do quizzes and submit your assignments on time and you'll get that A!

This is one of the most inspirational and useful classes I've ever taken. I learned so much from this class that I will hold with me forever. This teacher deeply cares for his student and wants them to be able to learn at a steady pace. You are never overwhelmed or given tasks just to be placed as a filler. Grading is completely fair in my eyes. You must participate to pass. The final is worth 120 points so you need to be prepaired. I took the online course and can say you must complete everthing on time in order to recieve an A.

This was one of my favorite online classes I have ever taken. I plan to take more classes taught by Professor Castellanos. The course is very straight forward. He posts everything early so you can get ahead. If you like online courses, I would HIGHLY recommend this class. And if you are new to online, this is a perfect course to start. Amazing!

Make sure to turn in assignments on time to get full credit. I took the COMM100 online 4 week course and it was not overwhelming but pretty straight forward and easy. Make sure to leave comments on your peers discussion response to receive full credit in the discussions.

There were 5 total papers for the one month class, which at first seemed daunting, but they were simple and Professor Castellanos' grading was straight-forward. Easy and interesting content

Professor Castellanos made the assignments, discussion boards and the grading system very simple. Just read the lectures on canvas, do a 10 question quiz for every lesson you learn and then post your opinion on a discussion board, easy A class. His grading is very fair, and his lecture lessons are short and simple.I would definitely take him again

Professor Ralph Castellanos was one of the most understanding professors I have ever had! He was so understanding when I had a question about the course. His class is really easy! Theres just discussions and quizzes for every chapter and a final exam at the end of the course. I highly recommend taking his class.

Great class. Learned a lot about public speaking and debate. Literally impossible to fail this class and yet this professor still manages to motivate you to do your best at it. Confidence is key in this class, so don't stress about the content, or being perfect. Everyone else understands how awkward speeches can be so absolutely no judgements

Castellanos is a really great professor. I work a lot and he was really understanding when I wasnt able to get an assignment in on time. The book is required for chapter notes and papers. Class discussions are very interesting and he does his best to get everyone involved.

This professor is very open minded and always keeps lessons intriguing. Lots of discussions in class that tie back to the chapter/lesson. I recommend showing up to every class to stay updated on the assignments and to ask any questions - he always responds and clears up any confusion :)

His online class had soft deadlines and you are able to turn things in whenever as long as you communicate with him. Professor Castellanos is by far one of my favorite teachers/profs I've ever had in my 13 yrs of school. Every class meeting he would genuinely ask how each of us was doing. If someone says they have ever met a more caring and respected professor that him, I know it is not true. He made me fall in love w comm and made lectures interesting as well.

Very caring about students and subject matter. Wants to help students succeed in anyway he can. Gives good feedback on speechs and want to improve on. Starts class off by asking every student how they are doing and making sure they are okay. Gives a lot of time to work on assignments and very understanding.

Mr. Castellanos was the most caring and flexible professor at Santiago. Expect to do a speech every week or two. However, he is very flexible with due dates and he is there to help. I would recommend his class to everyone!

Professor Castellanos was a humble man. He cares about his students success as well as their well-being. He teaches each class with so much passion as he loves what he does. I took this class over intersession so it was a short 4 week course and it was all online. You do discussion posts (very easy), 10 question quizzes, a few very easy papers, and then 1 exam. Everything is an easy A and you actually learn something of value. I recommend it to anyone.

Professor Castellanos was great. Although we never met, he seemed nice and caring. The class is easy, just put in the work and it is a easy A. You need a textbook but you can find one online. There are vocab quizzes that have unlimited trys and not timed. I took this class in intercession so there were discussions every day.

I took Professor Castellanos Comm100 class online over spring intersession. I would 100% recommend this course!! I was super nervous with it being such a condensed course that it would be very work heavy, but it was seriously perfect! I never felt overwhelmed or stressed and professor Castellanos is always available and will answer all questions!!

His notes don't cover all test/quiz material, you'll need to read the book. Keep track of all quiz questions+correct answers for the final!

This was an online class so I can only rate professor Castellanos on the clarity of his assignments which was excellent, his words of encouragement, and the feeling or caring and honesty that I got from his feedback. I would most certainly take another class from him should the opportunity present itself.

This was a online for 4-week intersession class. Professor Castellanos was very informative of the material needed to pass quizzes and papers. It's a very straight forward class. It does require a lot of class participation and student to student participation. I do recommend his class.

I took the intersession class for Professor Castellanos. The class is super easy. Turn in all of your work, follow directions, and you will get an A. I would recommend taking the class during intersession too. It is only 4 weeks long, and the first week is a breeze. Five essays, but they're short and easy. The final is literally the chapter quizzes

This was an online course that I took in intersession and it was an awesome class! I learned a lot in this course and I would definitely take another one of his classes. All of his assignments are very well explained and as long as you do the work, it will be an easy A!

I took the remote live class of COMM100, and I'd say I'm glad I did. The teacher is very understanding and clear with assignments, and kind when it comes to the weekly assignments with notes. He's also really respectable to and open to class discussions, as long as it doesn't get off the topic of communication. All in all, a very nice, fun teacher!

Easy A. Very smart and kind guy. It is up to you how much you want to learn. He'll be there to guide you but won't care if you don't care. A progressive professor who gets the education system and his students. Just needs to perfect his work to do the most good. 10/10 would recommend!

Going into COMM110 I was very nervous and never could of thought I would be able to give speeches with such an ease. Now that Ive taken this class I truly believe I have Improved. I a, now so much more comfortable when giving a speech.

The class requires a good amount of speeches and yes, it is nerve-wracking. Take it from someone who is camera shy, it is daunting. I took Comm 110 with Professor Castellanos because Im a Comm major and I needed it. I admit that I did not do the best job at turning in assignments as I was just extremely busy. Prof. Ralph is amazing! His classes were always fun and he made such a big effort to teach us how to speak in public. When he was harsh, like not letting us use notecard for speeches, it was fair and for a good reason. This was a summer session class (8 week course). Professor was very clear throughout the class and is accessible to contact. Assignment are due every week and seems difficult at first, but then you get the hang of it. Would definitely take again without a doubt.

I took this class Online during the Fall 2021 semester with no scheduled remote meetings. One of the most organized professors I have ever had! He outlines his modules where you are able to learn the material first, discussions, quizzes and then a reflection video. Great material, great class, great professor.

Professor C. is definitely one of the more straightforward teachers Ive had. He doesnt knit pick your work and duct points for grammar, spelling etc. PrpfessorC is eye understanding and will let you make up work when necessary.

He also gives students a grace period for due dates for the assignments. The workload is fair and he's very quick to respond to any questions you may have. I recommend taking his class over intersession if possible.

I took this course with Professor Ralph Castellanos, intersession; It was a lot of homework and videos; I learned a lot from this course, I recommend this class. The only thing I didn't like was that he did half of the grading after the semester ended.

Great class, definitely recommend.100% manageable and easy for an online class. Easy to keep up with homework assignments. About 4 papers but have very clear outlines. One exam which is not difficult, just keep track of discussion responses and quiz responses. Notes are very easy to take. 10/10 course! The textbook can be found online for free.

I took him online for comm 100 and he is organized with opening the module up right at the beginning of the week so I can do my work right away. He is very lenient if you need an extension for anything. I recommend taking him.

This was a really great class and was totally something I was not expecting. I actually learned a lot about communicating in my relationships and how to be a better person to those around me through communication. The class was not hard or work heavy either, which made it more enjoyable to do. I totally recommend this class!

Due to the pandemic, I took COMM100 online and I would say it was a different type of experience than maybe being in an actual classroom. In this class, you do have to read quite a bit and if you did the reading for the week then the quiz was pretty easy. Also, for this class, you use a discussion board and Flipgrid.

Professor Castellanos was amazing! You can tell that he really wants his students to succeed. He is very easygoing and understanding when it comes to late assignments. As long as you show up to class, participate, and do the very few assignments that are assigned it is a really easy A. He also provides a free textbook which is nice.

It's a pretty easy class. Most of it is discussions, and there are several flipgrid videos you gotta make. The papers are super easy. 500+ words with a ton of time and information that he gives. I just read the stuff he posts and was able to base all my papers off that info alone.

Online Comm 100 with Mr. Ralph Castellano at RSCCD. Canvas weekly module assignments: readings, group discussions, and Flipgrid. Gave feedback quickly. Concerned for students and educational videos pertained to assignments/ quizzes. I recommend taking any of his courses as he is an excellent teaching Professor. One of the best Professors at RSCCD.

Overall a great class. There was a lot of assignments at times, however the assignments were not hard to complete on time. He gives leeway when it comes to submissions. My only complaint was the papers sometimes weren't graded for a few weeks so it made me nervous I was not doing them correctly. But, thanks to good example papers, I did great!

Great teacher, his class has really taught me a few things. My only gripe is about having to do the flipgrids, but it does give you a chance to see your classmates. Overall, its a good class would take again.

Professor Castellanos' class was great. I took the 8-week class, so there is lots of Information packed in those two months. If you do the online classes, there are tons of Flip Grid assignments that are required, which were not hard but definitely pull you out of your shell if you're a bit of a shy person. Overall was a great class.

Professor Castellanos is a very good instructor, he is fair when it comes to grading assignments. In the few times I had to communicate with him, he responded quickly and with the answers to my questions. If given the chance I would take a course with him again. Enjoyed and learned from his class!

This professor has helped me and supported me through very tough times that I had this semester. My grandpa passed, I lost a friend earlier, and I battle with mental illnesses. He gave me every opportunity to succeed to the best of his ability. He is truly a great teacher.

Professor Castellanos is such a great instructor. Throughout the semester discussions boards were assigned each week, they were not difficult. Flipgrids were assigned almost every week, but got easier. The only thing negative thing would be it took a while for papers and assignments to be graded, but he was lenient when it came to grading.

The class is based on notes, discussions, and then a quiz. The quiz goes perfectly with the notes. There are a few papers, but they are super easy and allow for creativity. He is a wonderful teacher, especially the way he lays out his class. He sets his students up for success. I 100% recommend taking this professor!

I loved this course. It blew my mind in places and it was like welcome therapy. I enjoyed how we considered the depth of the various ways that we communicate in relationships. I'm excited to take what I learned and improve my life skills. I really enjoyed how the online course was laid out, the paper assignments, discussions etc.

He is the best. I learned a lot of methods of communication. However, we already use them in our daily lives. This was a productive class. Even though it was online, you could record videos and respond to your peers.

Prof Ralph is awesome.i had him online.DB and Quiz weekly 250-300 words, easy. 4 papers 500+ words & 9 simple videos. Lenient on late work but do not abuse it. Easy A, just apply yourself.Only con I would say is he takes awhile to grade. If u struggle with public speaking & need to take a comm class this is as easy at it gets. Thank you Prof Ralph!

The professor was very clear and organized, but he graded on completion and only gave me my grade after finishing the course. He also did not provide feedback on any homework, and it was hard to see what I needed to work on. This made improving harder because I did not know if I had done anything wrong. There were only three assignments per week.

This professor was truly amazing. He treats you like an adult and make you responsible for the grade you receive. I did not know what to expect when I decided to take this course, but changed my life.

Professor Castellanos's Communications 100 class was a pleasure to take. All the material was available online in a clear and easy to learn format. All the grading rubrics for assignments, papers and test were clear and easy to understand. All he asks is you put in the time for the discussions and classwork and you will be successful.

Taking this class was fun and engaging. He made it enjoyable to attend and he was really engaged on how we were feeling and always ready to give help when needed. 100% would take again.

I took the online version of his Comm 100 course and I was so pleased. I've honestly never taken a more engaging and exciting online class. The fact that he was able to keep us so engaged and have a high level of participation in a completely asynchronous course speaks volumes about his teaching style. Professor Ralph is great! He grades off of completion and as long as you fulfill the rubric you get a complete. He is very understanding and the topics talked about in class were really interesting and engaging. This was my second class with him and I definitely recommend his class!

This is my all time favorite professor. For an online class, he made it extremely easy to find everything you need for the class. All of the modules were very organized and his chapter lessons on canvas were easy to understand and he always gave good photo examples to help lock it in. Has a strange grading system which made it difficult to determine weight of assignments on final grade. He's a really fun guy, but feels disorganized. Always felt like plans were thrown out the window, hard if you need structure, but nice because class was relaxing. Textbook is needed for notes, but he bases exams and assignments off slides.

This class was incredibly easy. Everything was graded on completion, so as long as you put in some effort you will get an A. There are basically no real due dates either. However, I found it annoying how unstructured the class was. I didn't actually learn any new public speaking skills.

Professor Castellanos is really funny and not intimidating at all. However, as a person who is scared of public speaking, this was a lil harder. But, Professor Castellanos really helped me out with speaking and would adjust my outlines if needed and gave me additional advice. He is really caring and will help you out.

took him summer 2023 online his grading criteria was pass or fail. You had to post 2 discussion posts a week and submit one video discussion and a small paper answering certain quistions listed it was super easy just boring sometimes. If you lock in and give yourself time to get it done during the week its an easy A.

Great professor! Communicates through Canvas or office hours. Great learning objectives and grades based on actual knowledge of assignments rather than if I turned them in by a subjective deadline. He will go over any concepts not understood which helped me actually learn the material rather than just memorizing everything. Def take!

This was an easy class. There were 4 papers, but honestly, they were very easy and as long as you hit the word count, you would get a complete. The hardest thing about this class were the FlipGrid videos, but mainly because you have to record yourself and reply to 2 other classmates. It's pretty much like the discussions, but using videos.

Great class! There is a lot of material that is covered, but he gives you the chance to be responsible to get stuff done in a timely fashion.

Really easy and fun if you are good at public speaking but can be difficult to those who aren't. Definitely take him over other professors since speeches are basically graded pass or fail. Doesn't give you a grade of speeches but gives really good feedback and life lessons

Took public speaking with Ralph and he was awesome, just show up and do your speeches on time and you get an easy A in the class.

Castellanos is a good teacher and the class was relatively easy, there isnt an overwhelming amount of work and the assignments are pretty clear. responds to emails quickly is helpful. there is a textbook but it isn't like 100% necessary

i love Ralph by far the best proffesor ive ever had. Hes engaging and his classes are always fun. I would recommend him for any comm class!!

He is a very nice person with a lot of great stories that he will tell you during class, but overall he is very passionate about this course. Late work is very generous and the workload is very manageable. Overall I would absolutely take this course again.

Ralph Castellanos is a very good professor. He is able to get the class engaged in his lessons and he encourages participation. He doesn't want anyone to feel stressed out and he makes assignments as manageable as possible. He is very good about asking his students how their day is going, giving advice and making students feel appreciated.

Great professor, clear, organized, and fair. There's a lot of work, but it's laid out so you know exactly what to do. Learned a lot and grading is fair. As long as you keep up with the assignments, you'll do fine. I'd 100% take another class with this professor.

Workload was manageable. Only three short essays, discussions and quizzes. Very reasonable workload for a 8 week online class. Highly recommend taking!!!

My actual goat. The best professor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and us learning and doesn't just prioritize tests and homework. He makes class so fun and entertaining.

Professor Castellanos is a great professor, super nice, understanding and tolerant towards your problems. He has great lectures, and genuinely cares about his students wellbeing. Although it's a presentation heavy class, it doesn't feel nerve racking because of how comfortable he makes everything. I will definitely take one of his classes again.

Best professor I have had by far. He is super knowledgeable and wise professor, always has a response for everything. He maintains a safe and caring classroom. If I could retake this class I would, everything was easy to follow and complete!!!!!
