He is a pretty good teacher but focuses too much on problems and examples and not on actually relaying the information theoretically. He welcomes questions during class and is very laid back. It's a nice class.

he was good in financial accounting but i had him for management accounting and he didnt seem interested at all.

Despite some of the negative reviews. I liked him. He was really nice and helpful, I guess you just had to go to his office hours to learn the good stuff. His classes do not prepare you for the exam b/c he's not the one who writes them.

This guy's the real deal - he answers emails while most other profs ignore them. sure his exams are tough but he elevates your game to where i counts. sharp dresser, dreamboat - hobo joe, i think NOT!

you guys should grow up - this prof motivated me - he's the reason i'll make a career out of accounting. he's the GAAP that's missing in most accounting courses! possesses a great sense of humour (unlike most accountants?) i liked his class

This teacher explains the material well and he is funny and he isn't boring, however it's true the tests were a little hard ... but the average was still highest in our section!

Heis hard working, he prepares well for the lecture,I think he marks the midterm exam by himself, so he knows where students make mistake. he is very famous among students for the clarity in his lecture. and he is handsome!

Overall a decent guy and a decent prof. The class was incredibly dull but was improved often by Cecere's twisted sense of humour. He wasn't easy but also wasn't unreasonable. He went over tons of sample problems in class that were similar to exam and also gave us a clear outline of what we would be tested on. Watch his temper, though.

What can I say? Best professor ever. I am objective, I have B- in other courses with him, but it was my fault. Clear and thorough explanations, attractive way of teaching. Interesting. McGill could be Harvard with more professores like him.

Actually, he's a good professor, not boring at all. If you attend regularly, do your assignments, read the textbook, you're assured to pass.

The best professor I have ever had!

Real good in delivery. He explains the material very well and provides real good & interesting real life examples. HOWEVER, BEWARE of his exams!!! If you think his "midterms" are hard, he doesn't necessarily compensate for it in the final!!! I FAILED, and I'm normally an "A" student!!!

I really recommend taking MGCR 211 with him. He makes pretty dry material quite interesting with real-world examples and stories. Exams are tough however all sections write the same exams and you'll be best prepared if you take Cecere. Very nice and snappy dresser too.

Excellent teacher! I took with him several classes an i am impressed by his up to date knowledge on each topic. Very approchable and helpful when you do not understand something. Tough exams and grader. Extremely hot and stylish.

Good prof., very clear and goes through the topics in good detail, with simple examples. Very helpful, always answers emails within a couple of hours. Exams are hard as all hell and the typical class average of 55 reflects this. But if you do your readings, practice questions and practice tests, you can get at least a B!

Indeed Exams for MGCR211 ARE brutal. But keep in mind that it is the exact same exam for all profs and this prof's the BEST one that really teaches well and actually prepares you for exam questions. He is funny and clear in his explanations. for success in exams, do the textbook problems and attend tutorials!

Very helpful teacher. Tries to wake up the class with jokes (it works). Makes accounting enjoyable. Exams are very hard, especially the midterm since you only have 2h. Final was alright compared to past years' finals. Very nice teacher when you actually talk to him. And he's hot. That's a bonus. ;)

Ask urself why u go to college? Why Acct? If u just want grades, I got nothing to say. Cecere is the guy who actually make u love acct. His ACCT 352 completely changed my view towards acct. Yes, he is hard cuz he is brilliant. But he explained things so well, not only course material but why we need to learn these. Take him but JUST THIS COURSE

Clear lectures, there to help when you ask questions, you need to study very hard and do every single question you have to get a good grade. If you're not willing to put in the time and effort don't take the class

You must take professor Cecere for your intro to financial accounting class. Even though this is far from being my favorite subject, he works hard to make the lectures bearable (mostly by cracking "Dad jokes", which I find hilarious). The assignments are related to what's being covered in class, thus I would recommend you attend lectures.

He is a very good teacher, the course book is very helpful, There are no surprise for the exam, however they are hard with the grading.

Excellent lecturer, I took IFA 2 with him and really liked the class. He's a very good professor and is there to help, you just need to go see him during office hours. The exams are not easy though... but such is life

Takes forever to go over definitions then rushes through examples and problems (if there are any at all). That shouldn't be the focus of his class time..

Quick disclosure, I review all profs regardless of performance. Ralph is a great prof, he can be really funny. He is sometimes vague in his explanations, and his slides are often heavy with content from the textbook. His teaching method is great for understanding the concepts, and the class is regarded as the hardest and he makes it manageable.

Nice and funny guy; tries hard to make accounting interesting (jokes, stories, etc.). I found he didn't do a well enough job of explaining/giving examples that were similar to exam questions. Exams were very hard and there is a lot of stuff to memorize. There are also 2 group assignments throughout the term.

Ralph is the funniest Prof I've had at Desautels. He makes dad jokes throughout his lectures which makes his class so enjoyable. His slides are not the best so reading the textbook is a must but he explains most of the material through real life stories so it's super interesting. Do practice exams and textbook problems for midterm and final.

I took this class in my first semester. The prof is humorous and his lectures are informative. If you plan to major in accounting, you'll learn a lot from his intro class. He's also willing to regrade certain questions of your exam without regrading the whole paper. But be prepared to do lots of problems and read through the textbook after class.

Nice teacher, makes the lecture interesting an worth your time. Exams are straight forward but you have to be ready. Do many exam preparation as they differ from one another. Really knowledgable and will prepare you for the actual accounting world. Read your textbook and do the suggested problems and you will be fine.

I read the textbook before every class (he makes a very clear syllabus) and I did well. The grade is a good distribution- easy participation, online quizzes that everyone helps eachother, then a VERY fair midterm and final. He was very engaging and knowledgable and a fair grader.

One of the best prof's I've taken at McGill. He provides a lot of practice problems and they are very representative of what will appear on his exams. If you understand the practice problems, there is no doubt you will get an A. He is also very approachable and friendly, making it easy to go to his office hours if you need extra help.

Clear and concise. I love his pre-recorded lectures because they are easy watching and they get to the point. Solid class and delivery.

A lot of people don't like Ralph, but I found that he was a good teacher. If you do the problems from the book and his examples in class, you will do good. He has his moments of being funny too. I find he's hated for no real reason. He really is super knowledgable about accounting which may be why he scares some people when they ask questions.
