He lectures the intire time about nothing. Then, his tests will really trick ya up! he gives out a study guide, but then he asks the question in dang **** latin or something crazy!
Nice guy, very intelligent. Class can be boring, due to the dry subject material. Tests are suprisingly hard and tricky. Too hard for a lower level class. However, I really enjoyed the discussions in class.
This was a FUN class. I really enjoyed the material and seeing it in action on GPTV. He knows his stuff well and can convey the information decently. Some material can bore you, but do pay attention. Take this the semester after 1101 with Dr. Martinez
Great class and instructor. Just read the chapters in the book and use the study guide before each test and you will be fine. DO NOT take his classes if you like to talk to your friend next to you. You will get kicked out.
The lectures are basically the chapters repeated, so if you read the chapter then go to class you should be ok for the test. He gives study guides. I hardly ever had to spend much time studying. Just pay attention. Always turn off your cell phone!
Spent too much time with discussion and not enough time teaching.i don't recall discussions being part of our tests. He's rude at times. Tests are way too hard, multiple choice tests but there are more than one right answer on most (you pick the most right)
Very intimidating man, even rude sometimes. He's good with helping you out- like he wants you to do well. Tests are hard, you have to study ALOT to make a good grade. The only test that I made an A on I devoted one week to constant study.
There is too much discussion in class & not enough of textbook covered. The tests are very tricky so if you don't know the material front & backward you will struggle in this class. I would suggest students to take this teacher ONLY if you already have a working knowledge of this subject.
He was friendly the few times I talked to him. Tests:SO unbelieably hard. Read book cover 2 cover & FAILED every test. I'm an A/B student who rarely needs 2 study. Couldn't follow his presentation. Required discussion on WebCT. No paper tho. For your grade's sake, try to take someone else!!!
This dude ruled. It wasn't very hard, and was pretty entertaining. And oh yeah, you know those annoying kids in class that ask 5000 questions? everyone hates them, and thankfully, he hates them too.
Great person and professor!!! His test are not hard, unless you don't like to study...I work full time so my time to study was limited and I still did good on the class. He is a great professor, loves his job and will always be willing to help.I would recomend him!!!
He is a nice person most of the time, though he can be rude. Tests are hard. Not the material, the way he asks the questions. It always seemed like there was more than one answer for every question. READ the chapters!! EVERY WORD! VERY helpful. He always makes time to help! Great guy, hard tests.
this class was sooo boring
Very ineresting class. Hard to figure out where he stands: dem or rep. I'm going with neither. he seems as jaded as i am. Tests are relatively hard but if you read the chapters and go through all the notes from class, you can do it. I got an A but compared to some of the "slacker" classes out there, this requires effort. He's most helpful.
He's very monotone, but easy to follow from the book. If you read, respond to web discussoins, and go to class...you should pass with little effort.
Online class – Pathetic His idea of teaching online is to overwhelm students with work & his limited feedback is terribly slow. Overall, one of the worst learning experiences at KSU – AVOID.
VERY hard class. His lectures are boring, his voice is monotone and he doesn't use powerpoints. In order to pass you have to read the book, take excellent notes on just his speaking and what he writes on the board, and get used to his tests. The tests are VERY difficult, he requires exact definitions for about 20 terms, and 4 essays per test. AVOID
Dont take this class, will be a mistake
I thought he was hilarious! If you follow the study guide and read, then you will do well. To make it more fun for you, participate and comment on the discussion board.
Very boring and tests are hard.
This class was not as hard as it seems. Although Mr. Durham might seem mean at first he is very willing to help you succeed in his class. He gives exact study guides for his tests. I considered dropping the class but when I buckled down I ended up with a B. Don't take him if you are a slacker.
He is fair, clear and helpful. Tests are reasonable easy if you read. He does cover the material and knows his subject well. He is very nice professor
Class not easy! Professor not helpful! Study Guides definately NOT helpful!!! I studied my butt off for every test and still did not pass the class!
I took him for state & local government online and it wasn't too bad, just study a little and read some. It is a must to participate in the discussions.
Good Profesor, great study guides for tests. Four tests, no comprehensive final though the last test is worth more than the first three. One paper/presentation on an election. Extra credit in the form of the online discussion board. Easy to get an A if you read the book and study his study guides. Would take him again.
He knows his information.it is a hard class though, dont think you can just go in there and breeze through on the tests. The only grades he has are tests, participation and extra credit. The tests are hard, so STUDY!he tests on stuff he says in class and from the book!attendance isnt mandatory but you should go!take him if you are willing to work!
The study guide did not help much for me. You have to read the book and study real hard to get a good grade on his test. A very boring class. Xtra credit on discussion board.
I took his summer course and the tests were pretty difficult. The only reason I passed was because I did the extra credit and wrote long journals. Unless you really like political science and want to participate I wouldn't suggest this class. He can also be a bit rude.
OK, here's a prof who expects his students to read the text, attend class, and pay attention during the lectures. Wow - hard concept for many I guess. His study guides are useful, but there are some test questions that come from class discussion and not the text. But if you attend, you'll absorb enough to earn a good grade.
I like his classes. He is fun and strict. I found his study guides very helpful. He likes people to be on time and to turn him the paper when is due, nothing wrong with that. Assistance is not mandatory so you can skip classes and wait for the study guide but he will know who is in class and will help those who participate. I will take him again
He is horrible. He tests you on things that he goes over very quickly in class. Alot of times he will throw words at you and you have no idea what he is talking about. So when you go back through your notes before the test your not sure what you are reading about.
Sorry I took him. Do not take if you do not like a professor that lectures the ENTIRE class period...
The only thing I can say is FOLLOW THE STUDYGUIDE!! That is going to be the thing that helps the most in the class. He tests straight from it. If you follow it, you can't go wrong. Besides that, he doesn't keep on top of things well. It usually takes about 1-2 weeks for him to bring back tests and he doesn't post grades when he says he will.
Durham was very difficult. If you have a tight schedule, this is definitely NOT the professor for you. He is lenient with some things, and he can be helpful if you set up an office visit, but you literally have to spend days studying for his class. His tests are extremely detailed. His entire class is lecture, and he talks down to people.
Old school teacher with a little patience for being late of missing class. He puts it on you to show up and he'll teach you! I loved him, great teacher!
Worst class I've ever had in my life. many people have filed complaints about him because of the way he treats his students. No laptops allowed, no cell phones, attendance mandatory, he never finishes the chapters needed before a test. Study guide is not helpful at all. takes off points if you let the door slam.DO NOT TAKE!!! You will regret it
Hate the subject, but he made me enjoy it. Very clear on guidelines, will help u if u ask him. Asks questions about comments made in class. I just read the book to fill the study guide. Made paper last minute, (he gave plenty of time to do it). Got a B.
Great teacher, and a fair professor. Will treat you like an adult and work with those who take an interest in his class. Appreciates manners, and provides full study guides. Does not play favorites.
This class was a lecture class. Teacher is monotone, but knowledgeable, and forgiving. Very thorough study guides, and very friendly. My favorite POLI SCI teacher thus far.
Prof Durham really know what he is talking about. He is extremely fair and does not ever come down on people for their opinions, even when they are not well informed. The tests are not EASY, but if you take notes & work on the study guide you should do well. He is better than many professors & laid back.
This professor is awesome! His tests are difficult, usually half the questions are "real" questions and the other half are just to see how many ways he can re-ask the first half. I'm taking him again for 2 other classes that I have to have for my upper division courses. Study Guide is extremely helpful! READ READ READ! That's the key to passin
Durham really knows what he is talking about in his lectures! He is full of knowledge and facts but unfortunately does not deliver them in an interesting manner. Classes are BORING but attendance is not mandatory. MAKE SURE TO COMPLETE THE STUDY GUIDES IN DEPTH...and you will pass the class. Not an easy 'A' but manageable.
Prof Durham is awesome! It does help to enjoy the subject but many in our class became interested b/c of Durham. He does lecture a majority of the class period, and says "umm" a lot but very knowledgable and funny. He does expect your attention and respect in his class and will enforce it...one of the things I like about him. He will call you o
He was RUDE and DULL. Class is so boring. I counted him say "uh" or "umm" 404 times in 45 minutes, thats how boring he was. He gives you study guides but they are full of things you don't need to know and he does it on purpose to make you read the chapters. 4-5 chapters per test, 4 tests. extra credit available. if you like lecture take him.
Online version is awful! He never returns grades. He grades subjectively and in a biased way. If you have a different point of view than he does you will be penalized for it. He requires about 35 discussion questions and then grades them harshly. He also requres 4 article reviews that will take a week to do each. Stay away from him.
If you LIKE Poli Sci, and can pay attion in loooong lectures, take him! The Study guides were important, but truly understanding the subject matter helps too. Also I reccomend having taken Public Speaking before this class, as one of our projects were to give a 5 min presentation. An A is doable if you can put in the effort.
Long, drawn out lectures. I fell asleep in class every day. He's very monotone. The class isn't hard though. Read the chapters and use his study guides and you'll pass easily. Recording the lectures could be a good idea.
I never went to class and still got a B. I honestly really like state and local government though and was interested and knowledgable before hand. His tests are easy though I don't understand why I have to participate in an online discussion if the class isn't online. I take on campus classes to get face to face interaction.
Absolutely terrible teacher. If you have no interest in American government, you DEFINITELY should not take him. I can barely understand what he is saying during his lectures, which don't cover half of what is on the test. Study guides are very broad and don't help.
Do not take. HAD a 4.0 until his class and I barely got a C. He is really nice, but he should not be teaching, lectures are beyond boring (takes attendance after each break), does not respond to emails, Tests are excruciatingly hard and I am not sure where he comes up with the questions seeing as he does not actually teach the material.
I NEVER went to class - only for tests. I DID NOT do the debate assignment, and read 5 minutes before the tests. Made an A -- take him for an easy easy easy easy A or B.
In order to pass his test you must read the textbook. The questions on the test come from random parts of the book(within the assigned chapter of course). Once your understand how to study for his test, you should do well. 4 test, 1 field experience, and 1 group debate later, I ended up with an A. I say Take him! His class is pretty srt8 forward!
very simple if you just do what is needed online. Just keep up the debates and do very long posts and you should get an A. Also the tests are pretty much the online quizzes if you do the quizzes over and over then you should do well
Do the reading assignment and be prepared to discuss in class and receive extra points. Do questions at the end of the chapters and online book questions. Four MC tests. Give a study guide. Easy if you do the reading.
Lectures are very boring, but if you can stay awake long enough you may just retain some vital information. You could probably skip every class and just read the book and still make an "A". Do not take in the morning when you may be too tired to focus.
Haha, reading these other comments made me laugh. I absolutely hated this class, mostly because I hate government to begin with. If you're good at the subject matter then you will do fine with this professor, but a good professor can make the uninterested understand it, which Durham failed to do. Very boring class which he will not help you in.
Doesn't take attendance. Notes from powerpoints which are posted on Vista. I didn't even buy the book- I just used to reviews online on the textbook website- and I got an A in the class.
Took online. Quite a bit of work, but really not that bad. Test questions come from quizzes which you can take as many times as you want. Discussion questions and exercises on this website are the other assignments in addition to tests and quizzes. If you do all the work, an A should be possible.
took online. every week we had to read two LONG chapters & then take the quizzes & post about 6 discussions relating to the reading. in addition to this, you have to actually go on campus to take the midterm and final (which i found frustrating because it was an online course). Overall, the teacher was not very much help and was behind constantly.
DO NTO TAKE! im not going to spend a lot of time on this but it was THE WORST experience I have had with a professor and an online class ever. he takes 2 weeks to email you back. he doesn grade the discussions until the end so you have no idea how you are doing in the class, and he gives you a stupid paper to write which he probably wont grade. i l
This professor gave almost no help. He took forever to respond to emails (important in online classes). Quizes were poorly worded, homework was glorified busy work, and required that the student come in and take 3 tests during the semester on Saturdays. Worst college class thus far!!!
Most boring class you will ever take. He lets the class get off on tangents too much, and usually they have nothing to do with the lecture. The tests are not hard, but read the book because his lectures provide nothing of value if you want to pass the tests.
Easiest class I took all semester, and I hate government. His lectures are very boring, and the material he talks about doesn't really correlate with the tests, but he makes a study guide for each test which covers ALL the material you need to know--comes straight from the textbook. The final is not cummulative. Easy A!
His lectures are very boring, allows class gets off on tangents. No need to be in class, must read book and use study guide to pass tests. I love american government but this class isn't a good class to take.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!! I took him for an online class and I cannot even begin to describe how much this professor does not deserve a degree, let alone a doctorate, let alone to be teaching! He consistently messes up everything he posts. Literally. Every. Quiz. Had. A. Problem. This class was a NIGHTMARE!!!!
His online Political Science class was pretty good. Basically, it is not hard to get and A, if you just read the material and post on the discussion board. There is about 35 pages of reading a week, and a chapter quiz as well. The discussion topics are usually interesting, but you have to post every week a couple of times.
Took online class. Mostly busy work. He is a typical professor teaching a typical political science class. He tries to hide his views but he cant help himself sometimes and his liberal point of view seems to always come out. He doesnt post grades for the weekly discussions so you never know where you stand with your grade until the end.
PLEASE Do not take this class!!!!! He do not teach and none of the material that he talks about isn't on the test- you will have to take an additional class (SI) class along with his class-and the discussion board is a MUST. This was the worst clas I have ever taken at KSU.
I can't figure out why people are rating Professor Durham so low. I took him online, over the summer and easily made an A in the class. If you put the slightest effort into the class & actually do the discussions, which require reading the text, it is an EASY class. He is very helpful & his grading & expectations are clear. I'd take him again!
Prof Durham is an AWESOME professor. His lectures were a little boring, but when he actually got into his lectures, class was fun. To pass his class, you NEED to read. Apparently this is a problem although we're in college? Weekly quizzes are a breeze, tests are the same as the quizzes. Take them multiple times for all of the answers.
Prof Durham likes for his class to participate in the class lecture and give your sound opinion. This class he didn't use a book and I enjoyed his lectures. He made a dreaded class interesting and relatable.
awesome online professor. keeps you informed of how you are doing and what you need to fix to make a better grade. discussions and 1 quiz for every chapter. then there are 3 tests. and 1 8-9 page research paper. not a bad class to take online
A really unclear professor. Gets off track talking politics with the class, so you're really unprepared for the tests, as far as being in class goes. This class made me uninterested in politics. I'd look elsewhere for a professor, but if you must...
Very clear, precise and quick to answer emails. His class is very straight forward, simple and to the point. This class is easy to pass!! The only thing I would warn is the 8-9 page research paper. If you don't like to write or writing is not a strong suit of yours then don't take it if you don't have to.
He is the worst. I'm alreadynotinterested in government being a biochem major. He doesn't teach material. He puts up slides and runs off on tangents about politics instead of material. Maybe it will get better but off first impression of this first month it's horrible. He needs a public speaking class ASAP. He wants you to engage but it's hard too
This class required some work. One quiz and one problem set/ week. He is great at responding to emails and is in his office to contact. There is at the end of class along with the online work but you can use your book. The book comes in handy so buy it!
Mr. Durham is great professor. He definitely knows American government. He is always available to his students to talk about how you are doing in the class. Just be prepared to work hard. A lot reading and essays. His class is not easy but if you want to learn a lot and you're willing to put in the effort then you won't regret it. He is funny too.
Easy, I guess as long as you stay on top of your assignments. Lot of reading, Lot of discussion boards, lot of assignments. Every week is the exact same thing.
Do the work and you'll get an A i talked to about half the class after the semester ended and they all got A's. It seemed like he made up his agenda as we went along and improvised constantly. This may have been because we were a guinea pig test class. We almost always got out early sometimes with an hour left of class.
Mr. Durham is amazing!!! He's quick at responding to emails and you will always know what is expected of you. It's pretty much the same thing every week, do the discussion posts, quizzes are easy 10 questions a piece, just be prepared for the midterm to take up to 4 hours (it did for me). But above all, He is awesome, I really recommend! :)
Professor Durham is an amazing professor because of his knowledge in the material, as well as his compassion towards his students. Expect to read and learn the material, as like any other online class. However you can tell he really does care about his students and wants your personal success!
THis calss requires a weekly quiz and a TON of reading. If you don't read it, you won't pass the quizzes. A long discussion each week. It is twice the work of my other online classes. I would take someone else.
professor Durham is a good teacher, as long as you enjoy the subject he's teaching. two tests, take home, 4 days to complete, got 100. Very intelligent about environmental policy. Can only miss 3 classes, one group project with paper and presentation and one term paper. Also took him for state and local, i'd recommend him.
He gets to know people on a first name basis. very approachable. exams were take home papers. not anal about research sources or anything like that. as long as you give a minimal effort youre good for at least a B. very strict on attendnce
awesome lectures. really passionate. mandatory participation. knows everyone on a name basis within a week. really awesome guy!!! take this class!
Professor Durham goes strictly by the textbook. He uses powerpoints that cover exactly what you have read and the class is very dry. He does not explain topics well and doesn't seem too interested in the students he teaches. I made an "A" in the class because I read the book in detail multiple times.
He is such a sweet guy but I found his class extremely dull. Unless you love the subject do not take a 6:30 lecture. Pulled an A, still boring. Super easy.
You need to be vocal but if you aren't he offers extra credit online. His lectures are boring but not complicated. There's only one paper in this class and he gives you months to work on it. At the end of the year I had a low C and he pushed it up to a B. Worth taking again.
I took this class online and there are quizzes and discussion posts due every week. There are 3 tests including the final, which was just a normal chapter test. This professor really does care about you and how you do in the class, I would definitely take him again!
You must do the readings and online discussions to do well in this class. Approx. 5 discussion posts weekly and weekly online quiz. Three online exams. Quizzes and exams pull directly from book. Quizzes are MC, exams are MC and essay. Both are open book, but for time allowed, must know material!
Every week, there is three discussion posts and two responses. There is also a ten question quiz with multiple attempts. Pulls questions from the book. There are three exams and they are 60 questions and four essays (easy, two opinion and two book questions). Final exam was the third exam and it is done the last week of class and is graded immed.
I liked him, but his lectures are incredibly boring. You have to do a quiz before each class period on the chapter, and the lecture is everything that was on the quiz. So if you did the work, you already know the contents of the lecture. Everything else was easy. I should've had an A, but I rarely attended. You should probably do that.
This was my second time taking Professor Durham. His class is indeed very boring, but he is a fair grader. He is always willing to work with his students. If you want to pass, make sure you participate and engage with him whenever possible.
This class is pretty easy as long as you keep up with the reading and participate during class. Everything else was pretty easy and actually had fun getting in to the topic with the class and conversation. Despite that, everything I learned, pretty much learned in previous classes. To me is a waste of time and money. Hated being so late in the day
This guy doesn't do anything he says. He does NOT give good feedback in the online class. I asked for feedback on essays for test. Never responded. He said be would provide us with something by a certain date. never did it. He told us to use correct grammar & didn't use correct grammar himself. He wants you to participate but he can't reply to you.
Quizzes were good.. exams were questions from the quizzes but essays at the weren't the best, especially if you didn't study. Discussions were alright as well. Just do all the work required and you'll atleast have a B.
I had the worst experience every with professor Durham. His online context isn't clear and update per semester. when you ask him for help he is a straight anal. When I spoke with him on the phone I advised him I didn't understand his content, he was very rude, didn't listen and sarcastic. Don't take his class trust me when I tell! so unapproachable
I really enjoyed this class online. You have a quiz and several discussion post each week, and 3 test total. He post 5 topics each week and you have to respond to at least 2, then reply to 2 classmates. These are pretty lengthy but not horrible. You get 4 tries to take the quizzes and the highest grade is the one that counts. Get the book!
Took Professor Durham online, he's really passionate about you learning and doing well in his class. He makes the discussions relevant to current event. I really enjoyed taking his class online follow his syllabus and read the assigned chapters and you will do well. I finished with an "A" and I'm completely satisfied. This was my first online class
Professor Durham is a great professor to take online. He's very nice and helpful. Class isn't too difficult. There is one quiz & three discussion posts per week. The quizzes are on quizlet and do the discussion posts for an easy 100. 3 tests, all very easy. No lockdown browser. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
3 discussions a week - graded at the end of the semester. 1 quiz a week, answers can be found online - 4 chances per quiz (easy). 3 tests including final - 50 multiple choice questions from quiz, 3 essay questions that mimic discussions. Very easy, if you don't get an A you didn't try.
Not the best professor i've taken. He waits forever to grade things so you have NO idea what your actual grade looks like until its very late in the semester. His exams are essays you have to answer, one major essay due at the end of the semester.
His class was very discussion based and lecture based. There were about 3 tests and they were all essay format. He was not a tough grader, so if you had knowledge and attended classes with the information he gives, you'll be fine. There are 10 reading responses (one page-single typed) that should be done before the end of the semester, on chapters.
Professor Durham is great. He is a super nice guy and he is very approachable. He gives points for readers response (1 page each), attendance and participation, and exam. Super easy class. It is very easy to zone out in class at the beginning of the semester but lectures get more exciting. Go to class, read, and participate and you will get an A.
Really enjoyed his Political Ideologies course 3 exams 20% each. He gives you 6-8 prompts and you pick 4 and write 500 words for each. 40 pages reading for each class, have to turn in 10 responses over the semester also counts 20% of final grade. Participation and attendance make up the final 20%. Not the easiest but definitely not the hard class
Dr. Durham is a great professor. His lectures are purely discussion based and all of the tests are take home test based on the readings. You have to participate in class as part of the grade, but the readings are so interesting its not an issues.
I have had this professor for four classes and loved all of them. He has small writing assignments due most classes from the readings, but its a paragraph. The tests were always online. Participation really does matter, he just wants to hear what you think. Really its not a hard class just do what he asks and youll get an A, be lazy and you wont
I took his online class and it wasn't that bad except I had a lot of discussion posts that had to be done for his class. You had to complete 3 per chapter per week & respond to one classmate. He made it easy to complete all the material by the end of the course.
He definitely makes you work for it, but if you do you can easily earn an A. No textbook required. Every week you have a discussion and a quiz along with 3 exams. Hes funny and very knowledgeable on the subject. I would take him again. Its pretty simple if you just put forth the effort.
Professor Durham was great. The class consists of three exams (20% each) which are several short essay questions. He posts the exams on d2l and you have a few days to submit. project is 20% you pick a president and present the day you cover that president. No notes or visuals just talk. He is BIG on participation and expects you to have comments.
I took this class online, so this class was very straightforward. You have 3 discussion posts due each week and one quiz due every week. There are 3 tests, but they are easy and you get 2.5 hours to complete them. The professor gives great feedback if you ask him for some. This class was an easy A. The quizzes and tests are on D2L.
Take your times to right the papers and weekly one page of thoughts. easy a honestly
Professor Durham is very reasonable when it comes to fluffing your grade with easy- straight from the book quizzes. But he requires a lot of detail in his discussion posts weekly like quoting from the textbook. He is also very picky grading midterms. If you really care about learning POLS, then take him. If youre not invested, maybe keep looking.
Professor Durham was a great professor. Hes very knowledgeable about the material. Two things that people mess up on during the class are his short one page papers and CONSISTENT participation. If you put effort into these two things, then you should be golden. Exams are online and a breeze as long as you put in the effort. I enjoyed the course
He is very helpful and his lectures are interesting. Had a tough time due to concerns outside of class, but was very understanding.
I took this class online. He is a tough grader and will not tell you what you missed in detail. He stops responding to emails if he doesn't want to answer a question. Avoid if possible. 3 tests and many quizzes.
This is the worst online class ever. Durham grades subjectively and in a biased manner. He does not tell you what is expected of you and can give you no explanation for your grade. Also, very demeaning when responding to your emails. Have to do so many discussions, and a tough grader. He grades to harsh for a simple online class.
Discussions due every week along with quizzes that are open note and EASY. Tests are kind of long but same as quizzes + 3 essay answers that you can research on the web. Gives a crap ton of extra credit and he was really nice every time I reached out to him.
lot of discussions that you have to write throughout the semester too. 3 exams total and they are not easy. as long as you do good on chapter tests(easy/can reatake ) from book and try in the discussions you'll be fine though. Everything was organized. The downfall is that he puts grades in the last week, so you have to ask where your grades stand
It was a pretty straight-forward class where he graded discussion responses, textbook quizzes, and two midterms and one final. The weekly discussion posts and quizzes were kind of annoying but if you try you'll get an easy A. If you don't know how you're doing in the class, you can definitely email him for a response.
I LOVE Ralph he's one of my favorite professors so far! He is the type of teacher that just wants to teach you and doesn't want to make you struggle. 10/10 great great teacher!!!
Professor Ralph had great discussion posts every week and the quizzes were really easy as long as you read the chapters each week.
If your taking online classes dont and I mean dont take this guy. He is not a good professor and decides to post his grades on the last week.
I specifically took him b/c his class is laid out with checkpoints each week so you can stay on top. He uses an online book that does all the teaching. His tests are open book but kind of hard. He was always available and responds. Discussions each week, and reading maybe 35 pgs with quizs at the end of each chpt. Just read, he is easy
Mr. Durham was fantastic. He is super nice, but not a pushover. The optional classes were always entertaining. There was a ton of extra credit. There were a lot of discussion board posts, but they were not the worst. The topics were usually pretty entertaining. I personally enjoyed the class much more than I had anticipated.
Be prepared for absolutely no feedback! I made my first C in this class because the professor is not very clear on expectations. He does offer a consistent schedule with a few extra credit options.
he is so bad, i want to give him a zero. but that is not possible. so i give him a 1. do not take this class for the love of g*d . i wanted to blow my brains out with a 9mm every day and night
This professor had discussions due every Monday, but didn't give you feed back on them until the end of the semester. Be prepared for quizzes due every week.
I have taken 3 classes with this professor. He is very knowledgeable and very good. The class is laid out well. The syllabus is your friend. Class composes of chapter readings (they can be quite long) and discussion posts. Midterm and Final are in essay format. The class was easy for me, but I love politics too.
This class was straight forward. You have to read every week, do discussion questions, and a quiz. The exams were 100 questions but it was easy if you read
Professor Durham is a good instructor. He's a personable guy and you can see that in our class meetings we have each week (which are optional extra credit if you speak!). Class content is decent with 2 Discussion Posts / Replies and a Chapter Quiz due each week. I had life (non-academic) problems this semester resulting in a C. Exams are easy.
Took his online class and wasn't very difficult. Had weekly annotations that could be very lengthy, but you can easily fake it till you make it. Discussion posts as well, but were not too extravagant either. Not a strict grader. Was very lenient with changing due dates based on my classmates schedules or work loads. Highly recommend taking him.
TAKE HIM!! I took his online and there were 2 discussions a week (100 words each-very easy) and 2 replies. Chapter quizzes that you can retake as many times. If you attend his weekly zoom calls, you get a point to your grade for each meeting. If you get 10 you can exempt the final. Great guy!!
Durham assigns a lot of reading and discussions. That might be more the curriculum than his own fault though. Some of the discussions are really interesting and engaging. He takes time to explain the material and gives an appropriate amount of HW for the nature of the course. The only big downside for me is that assignments are due mid-week.
Great professor!
Very easy course, consisted of 2 DB and responses a week, and quizzes. no lockdown/webcam. He does take a long time to grade DB'S but as long as you write on the topic and length(200-300) words you'll do fine.
Only had to reach out to him once and he got back to me fast. This was a very easy course and he made it enjoyable to learn the material. I also loved the platform "vantage" that we used.
Professor Durham is a chill instructor. The class has weekly discussions, quizzes, and optional Zoom calls for extra credit. If you keep up with the readings, it's not too difficult. I found Unstuck study really helpful for preparing for the tests.
