BANG UR HEAD BEFORE GET IN TO THIS CLASS.
Fair teacher, fair grader, decent amount of easy work
alot of work but you will learn alot. he's alright.
Professor Misra is an incredibly intelligent individual. I strongly recommend taking this class. Will gain useful knowledge...Somewhat challenging, however Dr. misra is very fair.
One of the most useful classes you will ever take if you are an MIS major. He comes across as being hard, but he is very fair. A lot of work, but its worth it. The class can sometimes be very boring, but its a requirement.

This class is easy and dr. Misra makes it interesting. Some work required.
shows up early to help. his quiz's easy.. will help you with anything u ask. good guy
At first was thrown back by the amount of work he required but it taught me a lot. He is a great guy and if you need help with anything he will be there for you.
fair as hell, come to class everyday show some effort and u should expect at least a b-. great class
Dr. Misra is an excellent teacher. He is very helpful, especially as course work gets harder. Highly recommend.
Great Teacher... Big project, but you will learn a lot. One of the most USEFUL classes an MIS major will take because you get real-world experience. Highly recommend.
I took he over the summer. he is a nice guy and will do anything to help you if you just ask. just read some of the materail.before class, he gives quizs but they are not hard.
All his lectures are online.Gives little hw assignments but they will help you out on the tests. He only gives a midterm and a final. He tells you exactly what to study for and gives u any formulas you may need so they arent that hard.Does take attendance so if u go to class and do the hw ull do fin
He's GREAT! I didn't know anything about computers, but I learned A LOT..helped me out in every step of the way. Just go to all classes and study (last min.) for the exam =)..Got an A-
This class was amazing he is a cool teacher and he really wants everyone to do well take him TRUST ME!!
Professor Misra is the MAN!!!
He's so easy. everything is blackboard and tests are open book/notes and essays. he's really easy with grading and can be pretty funny.
This guy is one of the coolest and nicest professors on campus.. i like being in his class and he genuinely cares about what the class wants.. his tests are all open book and he is a very fair and lenant grader.. Take him for all the classes he teaches... I did.. and i love it Easy A
very easy class..weekly hw assignments but they are short (1 pg or less)..tests are open book, attendance taken most of the time..did seem unprepared when it came to lecturing using the ppt slides..other than that, very nice guy..take him...very easy class
Class is boring. He is an easy grader. Lots of HW to hand in. Tests are open book but study because tests can be a bit challenging. Go to class and participate, make sure he knows your name.
Excellent class. Do the homework, go with the flow. You learn so much - without the pressure. Dr. Misra is easy going but, don't mistake that for an easy class. Content is excellent and relevant.
took three week summer course. didnt teach much rushed through all material. take someone else if you want to learn something
A very fair grader. Tough three week class but make sure you participate and he knows you exist. Tests can throw u off but do the hw and ask lots of questions.
Tought extremely fast - if you have no idea about statistics - dont take him. He was a very funny guy who was always willing to help us out. Reviewed for the open book/open note test which only have 5 questions. Overall he made the class fun.
hard but fun class, he's willing to help but just make sure to understand everything from the beginning or u are screwed!!
I took his statistics class over the summer (3 week)... and its the only way to go! went extremely fast.. skipped a lot from normal full semester worth dont remember a thing.. but i got an A.. so take him over for a 3 week summer!
Student-oriented prof., makes sure u understand problems, gives weekly hw but manageble and helps u on the exam.
Hes cool sometimes but can be a wiseass when it comes to asking questions though. 3 Tests that are kinda hard but if you study enough they are managable. HW due every class just do them and you'll be fine.
AWESOME! Take him. He grades wonderfully.
He wants you to dink! His class is a waste of time.
Dr. Misra is a great professor. He curved tests and gave some extra credit opportunity. He's always in his office willing to help. You just have to go to class or you will be lost. You also need to do the homework as well. Just be prepared and you'll be fine.
AWESOME PROF!!!! take him in the summer, he is fantastic...so understanding because it is a 3 week class. You need the book, there is a quiz everyday but he goes over everything before it! The final is take home! Its a long class but he makes it fun and soo worth it. TAKE HIM!!
AWESOME PROFESSOR!!! I def recommend taking summer 3wk course...skips a lot of the material. Long class but he is funny & gives breaks. Small quiz everyday but reviews exactly what you need right before. Had one final exam. If you show up to class & do recommended homework you'll get a good grade!!
he is a nothing good teacher but also a great person i think every student seys good teacher

Guys I had this prof last semester n this prof really sucks. he is very useless person. In the exam he doens't help u out & makes things so hard for you. The reviews that you saw here I dont' know but i'm telling you dont' take this guy u wont' get a good grade.
Very nice teacher. Statistics is difficult by itself.. but i like it. He was very helpful, he went over the problems many times.
I didn't like his way of teaching. He's a nice guy but does not teach clearly and if you have a question keep it to yourself or he'll find a way to make you look stupid as he constantly did with a girl in my class. Homework does not match tests so if you think you're ready for the exam think again you will find surprises or twists in the exams.
Not an easy class. A lot of HW, which he does collect and grade, 2 tests + final (excel), and he takes attendance. He gives a review test prior to taking the actual test (which was pretty helpful). Tests are not exactly like the review tests, but if you know the material you will do just fine.
Very nice professor. Takes attendances, gives hw, which he collects, 1 project, 1 midterm and 1 final, but they're open book. (not that easy). He is funny and very good at explaining the material. This was the senond class I've had him, and I would defenietley take him again. You'll learn in his class.
Class was overall pretty easy. Homework almost every week but is easy to do and takes little time. News article every week, only asks for summary and how its relevant to business. Attendance is mandatory at the beginning and random after the first half. he knows your name though. open notes/book midterm/final.
Misra will make your life miserable. No pun intended. If someone has a question in class, he will make them feel stupid. He is not a good teacher, and can not explain things clearly. The tests always have a twist. Expects you to do the hw before class, which is often challenging. Avoid.
Hard subject, great professor, tricky exams, homework, u need in order to pass tests.I'd take him again
....cannot teach avoid YOU WILL NOT LEARN ANYTHING.. FINANCE MAJOR AVOID AT ALL COST. this class is SOOOOOO important for finance so take it with a good prof.
Great professor, very nice and funny. He made the class really enjoyable. He really wants the students to do well. Took 4 weeks during the summer. Quizes and homework every day, plus final done on excel. Lots of work but if you do your homework and study hard you will do well. I was scared to take this class, but it wasn't that bad. Got A
GREAT PROFESSOR. The only professor that wants to make sure everybody understand the subject. Very well organized with his time and makes the chapters flow. Feels like all one chapter, it's a lot of material but don't panic as long as you attend class and do the homework you'll get a very good great. Funny guy, made class very light.
he means well..sometimes he's a little blunt or rude..but you could tell he's not trying to be..class was pretty easy overall..just showup and do the hw..i surfed on my laptop pretty much the entire semester and got a solid A..im no genius either
I took Dr. Misra for INFO 270 and INFO 375. If you do not pass his class you are an idiot plain and simple. His goal is not fail anyone it is to teach. He would give everyone an A if they made a decent contribution to class discussion and attempted the homework. Take him now! Take home and open book exams. People come on how could you not do well.
I dont know who posted the other comments but this prof kills you with kindness. The txt/bk (slapped together by this prof) is the worst Ive ever read. This 125K/yr so called prof doesnt know how to teach. He'll make u feel dumb if u ask any quest. He wont help neither in class nor on his off. hrs. Can be biased-A Nightmare! Avoid at all cost!
Dr. Misra is one of the best professor in MSU. He cares about everyone in class, and teaches in a right manners. Quiz everyweek, but EXTREMELY easy. drops 2 lowest quiz grade. and one Final. So, 60% Quiz and 40% final, Oh yeh everything is OPEN BOOK. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.
Very unorganized and doesnt explain very well. Textbook was very helpful. 1 midterm, 1 final and a group project. All exams are in excel and take-home. I wish he explained better the material because he is a nice guy, but as a professor I give him a C+
Dr. Misra is a great guy and a fair grader. His class consists on HM every week,Midterm,a group project & presentation. He is not clear sometime with the work assigned but is always always available. Def. would recommend this professor, but do not expect to go home early though
I took this class during the summer. 4 weeks, 10 quizzes (drops 2 lowest scores), 1 final. Professor explained the material great and was extremely approachable. One of the best professors I have ever had. Definitely recommend him!
Dr. Misra is a great guy. This class was very intense. HW every week that were time consuming. Online midterm and group presentation and report plus and useless HW binder. not a class for slackers.
1.5 credit class - one of the worst experiences so far. Explanations are very unclrear and confusing. A LOT of homework, take home final. Professor is helpful but that does not make up for lack of explaining. I would recommend to take a different class if you can.
don't really need the book except for the HW problems, straightforward class for most part
This was the worst class I've taken in the MBA program. The worst part? It's so important for future managers! His lectures were not clear and he only used screenshots from the textbook. If you had any questions, he made you feel like you were asking a stupid question. The final exam was extremely hard, way above the level of what he taught.
Where do I begin? First, these "INTEGRATED CORE" classes are a big mistake MSU made with business students. It is bad enough the workload we have for all 4 courses that must be taken at the same time, and this prof. does NOTHING to help his students learn the material carefully. The book doesnt help, neither does he. Yup, withdrew already.
Misra-ble. Period.
Very difficult to understand. Assigns work using programs he does not even know how to use. Gets annoyed if you ask questions. if you email him, you would be real lucky if you receive a response. if you do not understand something will tell you to read the book or teach yourself
The BEST pro. In Montclair. He wants all students to pass and cares. He is so smart and knows statistics better then anyone else . He helps everyone and makes it a must that we all get the material before moving on. Take him !!!! I feared statistics but he made it understandable and manageable !!! He made me like statistics . Take him ! He's great
This is a hard class but Ram makes it do able . I was so afraid of this class at first Bc he seems stuck up , but he is nice . He could have been more helpful but he gives you what you need and then your on your own. He doesn't baby anyone . Take notes you can't pass the exams without notes and doing the hw. Come to class and take notes you'll pass
Horrible professor. He is very condescending and talks down on you. Lectures are so boring and he doesn't explain anything. Get ready to teach yourself the material. If you go to his office hour he will tell you to read the book and give attitude if you ask him to explain it. DO NOT HIS TAKE CLASS FOR INFO 300!!
Honestly he's one of those Prof how thinks he knows everything but doesnt. You'll be asleep in lectures but the work is easy but tedious. The only advice is to to participate in class otherwise the highest grade you could possible get is a B+.
Dr. Misra prepares you in this course to be a Systems Analyst. The project you complete in this course is detailed and prepares you for a career in IT. He has extensive work experience, as he relates to his past experience through out his lectures. Highly recommend to take him. He is understanding and wants you to bring on challenges.
Compared to other INFO 300 courses, this course revolves around Statistics. All quizzes and tests are open computer, but if you do not understand Statistics it is not worth taking this Professor. He knows a lot but the material he teaches is extremely difficult to understand and he thinks he knows everything.
This is by far the worst professor I have ever taken at MSU. He doesn't care about the students at all and has no idea how to teach. There are multiple quizzes which you can use notes and laptop but if you don't know what you are doing you are screwed. Also he will take your paper away if you take more than 10 minutes. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
Misra is ok, He means well but the classes are average. He will pester people to participate so during the mornings when your tired you might get ticked off. A handful of quizzes I believe 7, he takes the top 5 best scores so it's nice. Midterm and Final are kinda tough but just pay attention slightly and you'll pass. Textbook will go 50/50
Misra's class is decent. As a professor he is a bad, unorganized, and is not able to relay his knowledge to students very well. However, if you pay minimal attention and are willing to teach yourself the material before the exams you should be fine. Exams are 70% of grade and there are only 2. Would not take again, but not very hard to get a B.
He teaches from a data analytics point of view, but we are all random business majors required for this class. He was really nice and went easy on the homework, I feel like he would be a good prof for those techy classes. But for a basic class like this, he was too hard and didn't make it understandable even though you could tell he was trying.
He is extremely hard to understand, and is quite conceited. Tries to help students understand sometimes, but ultimately fails for the most part. And, the grading is 70% tests, and there were two total.
This is the absolute worst professor at this campus. Good luck understanding a single word he says. He barely knows what he's doing up there and get angry when you don't understand something.
Get ready for online homework in which each problem takes upwards of 30 steps. Just plays a video in class instead of teaching. On the homework it doesn't even give you enough information to solve half of the problems. Worst professor I've ever take as well as the hardest class I've ever been in.
Was switched to our class last minute. At first looked forward to his class, few weeks later realized he actually doesn't know how to teach. Half the time we watched videos that we could find in MyLab, time wasted. "spoke sternly" a few times to our course section which was unprofessional. Entire class was 90% of the time very confused.
Very hard to understand, and he doesn't understand student questions. He contradicts himself often and says attendance doesn't count, but takes attendance every class and posts the grade on canvas. It is the end of the semester and I still don't understand what is happening. Doesn't post grades properly in canvas so you never know your grade.
I am a B+ to A student, this was the ONLY class impossible to pass. Everyone is clueless when it comes to tests. Midterm & final in excel, only 4 questions. No Multiple choice. Doesn't teach steps on how to solve problems. SO disorganized. HW and study guide he makes are useless. Avoid this prof. Class was always confused.
Hard subject. Uses excel. If you pay attention and dont play on your computer all class, there is no reason to not do well. He cares about his students. Attendance is counted at beginning, he will remember if you sneak out early. I hated how kids disrespected him, if you don't do well its your fault not his. Become his friend and you will do fine.
He gave 3 exams instead of just a midterm final and two exams were within a week.. he was a little tedious and he would kind of yell/ disrespect students when they would ask questions but then complain about us not asking questions.. whenever he would talk it was DEAD SILENT.. and since he would get so upset nobody wanted to answer aloud..
Nice guy but expects you to know everything about stats. We had 3 tests, hw, and attendance for grading. He does give a study guide and goes over it but you still have to study and understand the lectures. The material can get very dense but if you pay attention and do the hw thoroughly, you will pass. He curved all our exams.
Taught myself using the textbook. He fails to explain concepts properly during the lecture and then gets upset when we cannot answer questions. For HW a chapter is due every week, where the % actually counts. The class is a mix of awkward silences & unnecessarily rude comments towards confused students. Has tutor sessions but avoided bc of attitude
He never uploads the work for the week until someone emails him and asks. This was annoying because you could not get ahead on work. I basically taught myself this semester he provided a lot of videos which did not help that much. He wasn't the worst he provided zoom meetings if you needed extra help
I wish he provided detailed feedback on assignments & explain what you did wrong. Felt like I had to teach myself most of the material. Even if you do everything correctly he still wont give you an A for some reason.
He does not explain things clearly. He expects you to be a master at excel. He gets mad when you don't know the answer. Take someone else if you can.
worst professor I ever took In my entire life. He made everything so confusing, I didn't learn anything from his class at all. Do not take this professor.
horrible. just horrible.
Instead of teaching he gets mad at his students for not knowing the material. He is very boring teacher and is terrible and getting the class involved. He knows what he's talking about, he just isn't capable of teaching to college students
By far this has to be the WORST Professor I have ever taken. Very Boring and does not give two craps about the students. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!
Many complain about him, but he is a good teacher, you just have to be willing to let him help you. He always asking the class what they need help with and no one responds, despite people obviously needing help. He holds zooms for extra help, but again people don't join it and then complain about him not caring or helping, grow up and show up.
He's honestly a great professor. The work can be hard at times but he's always willing to help the students out. Some people just didn't take the help when they were offered it and that's why some didn't do so good. He even offers zoom classes for extra help. He also gives templates that are such a huge help with the homework.
Hes a terrible professor, in a lecture right now and hes taking 10 minutes talking about orange juice. Do not take him if you want to learn INFO 300. TERRIBLE
A lot of homework but it's generally easy and all quizzes and tests are taken at home and online. If you pay attention it's a pretty easy class to pass. The classes are mainly focused on going over practice problems
Don't take this class if you have no background in stats. This professor expects you to teach yourself, meaning look at lectures and lecture videos and come back to class with any questions to go over in class. HE DOES NOT TEACH. He gets upset when no one has any questions and/or answers his questions. Fair warning, he's hard.
I basically taught everything myself. He just reads off the slides and tells us to watch the videos on Canvas. With that logic, I barely went to class because it was a waste of time, but every time I missed class, my grade went down my 3-4 points! Ridiculous. Homework and exams are easy if you know the formulas, stupid weekly discussion posts too.
The people saying he's hard to understand just didn't pay attention in class. He explains everything and will go over material until you understand. His quizzes and exams are online and open note, not sure what else you could ask for. He gives homework every week through an online textbook, but doesn't ask for you to read the textbook. Take him.
Not a hard class at all. If you just complete assignments and show up to class you should be fine. But one problem I had with this class is his teaching style, very slow and long lectures that take up the whole class. Had to teach myself a lot of the material outside of class because some assignments didn't match with the corresponding lecture.
Lectures were very boring, it took him long periods of time to get to the point of a topic. He isn't tech savvy at all even though the entire class is based on using excel and just online assignments. Everything is easy to complete thought, easy A if you just complete the work. HW is online, tests are online, and some small papers.
Wouldn't recommend. Exclusively lectures, which normally I wouldn't mind but he talks 5 words a minute and asks "right?" after every sentence. Work isn't hard but Pearson will deduct points for the slightest deviations from the programed answer, and he will not give any points back. Obviously knowledgeable, but not a good instructor.
Professor Misra teaches with a unique approach - he expects students to come prepared and actively engage. While challenging, his class was manageable with the help of resources like unstuckstudy and study groups.
Literally just show up. Weekly assignments and three exams all from home. Lecture heavy and boring but super easy work, he likes questions/participation. I think it is impossible to fail. Can be confusing but not impossible to understand. If you don't know whats going on in class, just use your computer to do other work. Easy A.
He has an accent to it is hard to understand him at times. "go into a store and ask the manager questions" type assignments that may or may not be in groups. Online tests and homework so that's nice. Expects people to already know how to use excel. Uses class to go over the slides, even though he explains everything after you've done that homework.
