very easy. He likes to read the paper or walk outside when exam is goin on so easy to copy. got A's in both class
Easy teacher..
He's a cool teacher. Very helpful. He's a lot of questions when you do your presentations, be prepared. No Exams, 4 quizzes only!
He is a cool teacher although he can be demanding sometimes. You have to spend a lot of time to do a project. Be prepare to find client before you get into the class for the project, and do it beforehand
5 quizzes, 2 homework, big project, few presentations. Hard to understand sometimes. Be perpare for answering questions on the presentations.
5 quizzes, 2 homework, 1 project, and 3 presentations.. not a hard class.. just read the book and you will be fine.. however he's not very helpful and takes him two days to answer you email..
Very cool teacher, sympathetic to students. Real world examples are great. Make sure you get a strong team to work with. Be serious about this class, coz he can tell if you are not prepared. He will shred you in the presentations. No prob if you know what you're doing.
Coursework not too difficult: 5 quizzes, 2 or 3 h/w assignments, project, 2 presentations. No midterm or final. Do h/w because it is graded higher than quizzes. I missed one and it cost me an A in the class. Like others are saying, he asks lots of questions during presentations so be prepared.
Really cool professor. Cares for his students A LOT! Very helpful and overall, the class is pretty easy. He expects you to put in your best efforts for the Big Project. Good explanations and overall, my group and I thought of this as a very valuable class.
Show me a student who complains about this professor and i'll kick his OR her's BUTTS. he cares a lot about his students, he knows the area of MIS greatly, and he only shows up once a week, sometimes once in 2 weeks. project is demanding and it's understandable cause it's MIS practicum. this professor is awesome. no complains!!
If you want an easy class for an easy grade take Sridar. He's a real cool teacher. Easily approachable and helps students. Only problem are his lectures can get real boring and he's hard to understand at times cause his accent. A lot of work but the midterm and final are real easy. He gives you the answers to the midterm!! Who else does that
This is a pretty hard course, but Sridar makes it soooo easy. Yeah he has a thick accent but he will clarify if needed. Bring a laptop cause lectures can get boring sometimes. 10 easy quizzes, 1 midterm and 1 final...all of them easy!!! Got away with an A
The only thing that upset me about him was I asked for help during our lab test because my computer froze and he said he could not help me. You would think he would offer me extra time because a bad computer is not my fault. He curves at the end of the class. The midterm is ALL ESSAY! Make sure you study. Everything else is easy.
Overall he is an easy grader as long as you do the work. He does not intend to trick you. He'll let you know exactly what's on the midterm and final so you just have to study and memorize them since(they are closed book). Make sure to pick good lab partners because he doesn't offer much help labs. You need to rely on your group for labs.
This professor is awsome. quizzes are easy . make sure to get a good group because of three cases and lab work. he is fair at grading . got an A
He is sooooooooo sweet! The niciest instructor ever! Very helpful.
WHAT I CAN SAY? COME TO CLASS HAVE A FUN/ OR DON'T COME TO CLASS BUT YES GET A FREE GRADE A. AWESOME INTRUCTOR. 1 MIDTERM ( ACTUALLY GROUP MIDTERM) AND 1 FINAL.
Worse teacher ever encountered! Don't understand what he is talking about but always asks us do not say that. It is Sooooo easy to get an "A" but feeling very worse inside. If you want to learn or at least pick up something from the professor, I recommend do not take his class. He doesn't teach a damn thing. He is an indian and has a strong accent!
Nice, helpful professor. Like other classes in this level, should learn by yourself. Easy class, easy A.
Easy professor! He will let you have a cheat sheet... try to work on the graphs since he will ask you questions. All the answers come from the power point. The labs are hard so try to find your teammates to help you out. Other than that, easy cake!
Easy and fun teacher. He is very friendly and willing to help his students. He does have an accent but that does not make him a horrible teacher. Mr. Sridar is very open to criticism; take him if you do not want to street in Bus 188 with other teachers.
Really good professor. Interesting lecture, makes it enjoyable to students. I learned a lot and the assignments were not tricky. You must study to earn your grade. TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR!
Let's you use a sheet of notes on exams (not greatly difficult). Willing to help when you ask him, but does have a heavy accent (isn't bothered if you ask him to repeat what he said). Pretty good guy and a fair instructor.
I love Sridar!!! He is nice, helpful, and clear. There are a lot of assignments but they are easy. Take this class w/ a friend and you should do fine. If you have any questions just ask him. U will need the book. 1 midterm and 1 final. I wish there were more teachers like Sridar. Some teachers you can't even talk to but Sridar is not like that.
He was very nice, very helpful. Wants students to learn a lot and get a good grade in the class. TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR!!!!!
Really good instructor. He cares about students and he wants them to learn about the material.
Great instructor, can't say it was a hard class because it wasn't. There are quite a few presentations, but they aint tough at all. Make sure you find a good company to work for on the semester project.
My class was disrespectful and didn't take him seriously. He means well. He sets up labs so that he can help you. There is no reason why you shouldn't get a perfect score on the assignments.
Sridar is a nice man. You can tell that he has no mean bone in his body. His class is EXTREMELY boring. Make sure to bring a laptop or a book to read. There is one group project that is due at the end of the semester (25 page paper, easy.). The labs are cake. Hes a nice guy
Sridar is very nice. People can be rude to him because of his accent and funny eyes. He constantly asks the class if they understand what he is talking about and gives you the essay questions to the exams. Only one group project (easy) and two tests (easy). Nice guy. Class is boring, bring a laptop.
He's so nice that some students are disrespectful. He'll get angry if students don't show up to class, huge class, tests and quizes are from the book. Lectures are just terminology from the text, don't need to take notes, need to read to prepare for tests and quizes, lab asg are hard if you're not a computer literate. Nice teacher!
Easy class. Some people didn't do well because they are slackers or English wasn't their first language so they had trouble understanding lectures. Just print the slides online, go to class and take notes, and thats it. group project, so make sure you get a good group. Allowed cheat sheet on tests so thats prob the only time you need the book.
Very accommodating professor. He wants you to understand the material. He takes the time to ask people if he needs to repeat himself. Some people make fun of his eyes, but those are the guys that are probably failing his class. The class and access labs are easy if you ask for help along the way. One page of notes for exams. Use small font.
Sridar is good. The most important day of this class is the day you pick groups. make sure you get a group you like because that is your whole semester and grade right there.
Very intelligent professor. He is very easy going, but don't mistake this for "easy". He expects student to manage their work load and project without his constant supervision. The project is everything! Pick a good team. No midterm. there are quizzes and simple final. The project is complex and is most of your grade.
Go to class, or dont go to class. He is so nice and helpful. Honestly dont need the book because everything he teaches is from his slides (and the slides are made by the book company). If you are unfamiliar with Access this might be your one weakness, but just get with a classmate to compare and you will be fine! He tells you EXACTLY what to study!
he is extremely unhelpful, he screams and criticize you when you ask him a question. although he does one thing well is he always ask if the class "gets it" but a lot of times when u ask him questions, he criticize you.. he also looks like a frog. not the best teacher.. the exams are prety hard, but its open notes.
Class is 1 midterm, 1 group paper (25+ pages), 4 quiz, 4 labs, 1 lab exam, and 1 final, its all open notes.. i think his exams are kind of confusin even tho its open notes. He is not that great at answering questions because he criticizes your answer.. also, his slides include everything, so book not really needed. i wuld choose another prof tho
This professor is very easy going. Make sure to pick a good group for project. The students who complain about his accent only complain cuz they don't study. One of the best professors in SJSU
looking for easy class?? Take him for 188. I never showed up in class unless it's quiz, exam, or for turning in HWs. Study guide is straight forward. 1 MIT, Final, 4 quizes, 25 pages project (4-5 person/group) Super easy, and 5 labs (see his tutor) Very esay!!!!
Take this class if you aren't extremely lazy. It was hard to pay attention with over 100 students in the class, but you can read the book/powerpoints. Very lenient with due dates. Grades easy on the labs because we tried doing them online (pointless). He tells you exactly what pages to study so the exams are easy!
Easy A unless this is your concentration & you'd like to learn. Very helpful! Loves his profession! If you miss the 4 quizzes you can make it up during finals day. Labs online were a joke. Did not learn Access just learned to BS if you want to learn take a harder professor. 1 page notes for midterm & final. One group project does not require meet.
Attending class was not necessary, just have someone you know fill you in when there is a quiz, due date, and reviews. Bring a laptop or something to do if you attend class. Teaches mainly out of ppt(posted on Blackboard). 1 cheat sheet for each test. 2 exams, 4 quizs, 4 access assignment with the 5th being the final for it. 25 pg paper.
this class is a freakin party becuz theres +100 students he curves i gota A- =) i dnt know**** about MIS 5 labs, 4 quizzes matchin, 1 group paper we only did 17 pgs(easy grader) 1 mt, 1 final final is easier than mt. overall he is nice becuz he curves but BIG ACCENT however easy A the easiest class i ever took we jus chilled the night away =D
class FUN. left class to have dates 1 midterm, 5 quzzes, 5 labs, 1 ****fin. miderm ok, he curved, quizzes all vocab, lab hard but never read the book T.A did it all work, the final is easier than miderm. 1 pg notes on sided for midtm but final both sides. class 100+ kids jus go&talk to frnds or dnt g2 class. attendance not counted. book helps.
He is super easy, but you learn nothing from his class.
Lectures every class, sometimes classes are more then half empty. There are two midterms which are pretty easy if you go over the chapters in the book. Five labs that are due and one group essay on some IT product. He is very knowledgeable about the subject but can't teach it that well. Easy guy though makes the class pretty easy.
He is a pretty weird guy, but helpful if you talk to him. Im pretty sure that 80% of class (100+ students) dont know what he is talking about half the time. Some assignments are done backwards, and his content on D2L is all over the place.
Super heavy accent, can't understand what he's inferring most of the time. Attendance is not mandatory but there is a quiz each class & he waits until the very end of class to give it. 4 labs, 2 exams, 1 group paper. Didn't learn anything from his class. D2L portal is disorganized. Overall, take him if you want an easy grade and don't want to learn
Shame on all the people that rate this professor poor/average. He is one of the best professors I have ever had at SJSU. Very knowledgeable, Friendly and approachable and make sure everyone understand the material. Exam are straight forward from his review, allows 1sheet,. no reason not to to do good in this class. 1MD, 1Final, 1project and a lab.
this class is very very boring. I slept through most of the lectures. In fact, you can skip all the lectures and still do fine. I passed the class, but I did not think I learn anything. I do not recommend if you want to learn bus188.
OMG! Easiest class you can take at SJSU and with this professor, no doubt you will pass the class with a good grade!! Take him!! You can thank me later, but maybe you won't thank how boring the class is. lol Also, he does take attendance boo which is your participation points!! :( Just be there it's only once a week thought.
I really like this professor! He has a lot of real world experience that is helpful in his teaching. He has a variety of teaching styles to keep the class interesting. We do group projects and team meetings. He is very helpful and wants his students to succeed. He has a strong accent but he reinforces the material with exam reviews and summaries.
Best teacher at SJSU for 188! He made the material managable and related it to "real life". He understand that most students are not MIS majors but we need this class. He formats the class so we can be able to effectively communicate with IT people. He wants everyone to succeed! He is always there to help, offer advise or talk. A+ teacher
4 quizzes, 1 group project, 1 exam, 1 final. The Quizzes are "match the following." Group project is a 20 pg paper. The exam and final are multiple choice, Tf, short answers and allows 1 pg of note. The lecture is boring and useless cause of his accent. You can pass but won't learn much, not recommended for MIS majors!
Read the textbook for comprehension, take notes from his power point. He gives in class examples of concepts and will test you on these. I taught myself, wrote down his examples for the 'matching' quizzes and did okay. I learned very little from the Professor himself. Big group assignment due at end was interesting but all self directed.
I don't listen to a thing he says in class. Just read the book and study for the test. you won't learn much.
Easy class, but I can't understand what he talked in class due to his thick accent. Give easy matching quiz and study guide.
Make sure you have a good group for the project. Project sponsors are assigned randomly and some projects might be harder than others. Other than the project the professor gives quizzes here and there. Class is pretty straight forward and very chill.
Sridar's lectures were pretty boring, I honestly didn't pay that much attention to them. He allows two pages for notes, handwritten or typed. The tests were straight forward from the textbook. You have a few labs to do for Salesforce but they are so easy and actually kind of fun/interesting. There was a pretty lengthy group paper, about 25 pages.
My favorite professor from SJSU. You need more time on a project or assignment? he'll give you as much time as you need. Such an easy grader. As long as you put in effort, you will do good in the class. This is a true Student-Teacher. He prioritizes the students, and if you fail the class, you need to re-evaluate your life
Take his class if you want a chill class. PROS: Easy grader for exams. MC/free response questions. 1 page cheat sheet. All his notes are online so no textbooks needed. Grades based on 2 Exams, quizzes, group project, and Labs. Not exam heavy. He cares a lot about his students. CONS: Lectures are pointless and he is hard to understand.
Professor Sridar is so caring for his students! For someone who was not interested in the class from day one it was a little hard to keep up and stay focused. He really wants students to understand material. It is still easy to pass this class!
He is such a sweet professor who genuinely cares about his students. He gives great advice on grad school options and career options. Easy quizzes and little class work. Easy going on project presentation and project overall.
Do take this class and professor. Easy A as long as you put in the required work. He was super helpful and his grading was crystal clear!
This is a very easy class! You can tell that this professor wants to help you and cares about all his students. There are 2 exams which are easy and theres only one group projects with a 15 min presentation. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone!
Professor is a really good guy. He is very experienced in his field. The material is pretty boring so the lectures he tries to make people participate. over all great teacher. "Am I making my self clear?"
"Okay my Friends" he's hilarious, and he always tries his best to make sure you understand the materials
He's very nice, but difficult to understand. He knows this and will repeat or write things on the board if needed. There's not really any homework, just some online labs. 4 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final, and a group project. He really cares about his students. This class is difficult for me b/c I know nothing about computers, but I recommend him!
One of the best instructors to take for this class. He simplified the course material in summaries so students do not have to read the book. His lectures may have terminological that could be tricky to remember, but he makes every effort to make it understandable. He cares about the students and will extend due dates if the occasion calls for it.
he does not make himself clear
WORST professor ever!! He never responses your email, and he does make mistakes about your grade!! good luck taking him if you want your grade to be messed up and never get it fixed
unclear grading criteria. syllabus is as useless as him/ his lecture. and no he does not make himself clear. do yourself a favor, don't take him and thank me later
His lectures are not the best; however, the course curriculum is straight forward. He always checks on students to make sure everything is going smoothly and is willing to explain anything that is unclear. He is very kind, take him!!!
Do not know my grade yet. He grades hard on HW and Quizes. The semester long project is worth it and I learned a lot.
Absolute sweetheart of a professor who genuinely cares if students understand the material or not. The labs and quizzes were not bad at all and evenly spaced out. The group project was super easy too. Quizlet
The majority of the class was driven by a real world project with an external project sponsor, so that experience will vary. For Sridar himself, he was seen as "nice" by some, but I see past that. He seemed rude at times when you ask him a question. That aside, he has a few presentations and a few quizzes as well. He really didn't teach me anything
I do NOT recommend him. Unorganized with due dates. You literally do not have a consistent agenda every week. Rude when asking him questions. Quizzes are easy but you don't learn anything. You can tell all students are annoyed. He might be the worst professor I've ever had.
Professor Sridar is really nice and we only had one team presentation due at the end of the semester. Also his class is easy you need to do 3 take home labs and 3 in class labs. One midterm and one final. There will be quizzes.
This is one of the easiest professors I have ever taken. Everything is open book and notes, no lockdown browsers. If you have a basic understanding of computers you will get an easy A in the class. There is one big presentation at the end which is very straightforward. You also have Salesforce labs which are easy and you get salesforce experience!
Professor Strider is very patient, understanding, and caring. He is by no means a push-over, so don't expect to be able to turn in late quizzes. I missed 1 quiz, sadly I got a 0, so learn from my mistake. Beyond that the quizzes require some critical thinking, meaning they aren't "straightforward." Tests are allowed 1 cheat sheet on an honor system
I have taken Professor Sridar before and his class was a breeze but this semester was in person and he was not happy with the students in his class not showing up and cheating in exams. He got very strict with his quizzes and exams. The class is quizzes, midterm, final, and a group project. He is nice. In person 7/10. Online 10/10
The prof isn't bad at all. Your main concern will be what kind of project & what group you're working with. You might get lucky/unlucky depending on type of project. Most of assignments, the prof will post examples that you can use as template. Make sure to be present for group presentations & quiz.
Gives 4 Quizzes that are direct. As long as you show effort and some valuable content/progress in the semester long project, you are in good shape.
Hello my friends. Solid Professor, you can tell he is in coast mode, this class is what you make of it, it's the closest thing to real world experience as you can get outside of an internship. This class is honestly more like a CR/NC , either you do the work and get the points or you don't.
Professor Sridar tries his best to make sure the class understands what he's talking about. The class is lecture-heavy, but he uploads the presentations onto canvas. He goes around after the lecture to check in with your group to make sure you understand the topic and to take attendance. Consists of one midterm, one final, and a group presentation.
This is a project-based class so no midterms or finals! The project is with a group and if you have a good group, then you're good! He's a great professor and tries his best. Put in the effort and you'll get the grade you want. There are 4 in-class quizzes and homework.
Professor Sridar is an ok professor. He helps you when you ask but he doesn't teach the subject much at all. A class that you can skip for most days and still do good. There are 4 assignments that are all with a group. Team presentation. A midterm and final worth 25% of your grade. Good class but must self-study to pass.
Professor felt non-existent other than being there to grade us based on presentation quality. Regarding assignments, 4 homework. quizzes, project document - all easy. Much of the work is done through a long-term semester group project which varies based on what task your group are assigned to. Easy or hard depending on your sponsor, so good luck.
3-4 Quizzes. 3-4 HW/Discussions. 3 easy presentations, 1 Semester-long group project with a project sponsor. Most class time is for working on the project and occasional lecture but you generally get let out early since no one works on the project in class. Attendance is taken every class session.
This professor is honestly one of the nicest I've ever had. He gives you real-world experience by having you work with actual companies all semester. Seriously, take his class—he's the best!
Highly recommended
Very nice and welcoming professor, he may not teach as he reads off the slides he provides. His exams are like his study guide, one sided cheat sheet. This is an essay class, I would take again for an easy A. Quizzes are tricky but do able, you have a final and midterm, and group presentation.
Hello, my friends. Really chill professor. Lectures are ok, but easy class. Not many assignments. 3 easy group assignments. A couple of easy quizzes. Final presentation on a topic he chooses for your group, only about 10 mins. The midterm and Final exams are the only semi-challenging parts, but he allows a cheat sheet for the exams. Love this guy.
This class is primarily group-based, with all assignments being group work—no midterm or final exam. Unlike typical group projects where you only present at the end, this group project requires ongoing communication with sponsors on a weekly or monthly basis. A leader will be assigned. Do your work, easy A. Just contribute regularly!
The class was surprisingly easy; the biggest thing that affects your grade is the sponsor feedback and how your team members rate you. Our Group was not successful in the project, but our sponsor still provided us with feedback. Obviously, the non-contributors received an extremely low grade in that category. Easy Class, Easy professor.
There were a couple group assignments, 1 midterm, 1 final, and 1 easy presentation. The only "hard" part of the class were the exams but if you study, you should be fine. He also heavily curves the exams which will boost your grade. Super sweet and understanding professor.
Professor Sridar was a super fun and caring professor. He genuinely cares if the students are on pace/learning, so he will also be considerate to peoples situations. Participation and attendance does matter though as he notes it down, and you will be placed in groups that you work in through out the year. Overall, a good and caring professor.
