the worst teacher I have ever had!!!!!!!!! Not just b/c the class is hard I have a 3.5 GPA so I'm not a bad student who just ****es. Hes unclear,unhelpful and its just plain rude. He pretends to care but in actuality doesn't give two****s about his students. Not good, avoid him and his class

he is horrible. if you speak up to unfairness he will be bais and treat you differntly after. Before he knew me i had an a and a b+ on my midterm, come finals, which wasnt hard, i got an D-. He is really unclear and not helpful. i had a 3.72 GPA so im not a bad student or an bad mouther.

Helpful professor and is easy on grading.But he doesn't have really much clue about what he teaches.I wish he did some more research about his subjects.Get his classif you just want to get a good grade.But you won't be learning much from him.Other professors know this fact so I was advised to choose another class by several of my other professors.

Ramesh dressed very professionally. He spoke clearly and slowly, explaining things in great detail, and made sure that we understood the topics at hand. He loved when we asked questions and answered them with great ease, no matter how many times he had to re-explain.

The course that I took under Professor Ramesh was Statistics and Operations Analysis. I was very concerned about the course in the begining but Professor Ramesh made it interesting and he is a very knowledgable Professor. Specially he is great in Operational Analysis part of the course.

Professor Bollapragada is very interested in making sure his students learn. He works very hard to reach this objective. However, I think he becomes so focused on his subject and on instilling knowledge on the students that he loses a bit of flexibility and awareness of student circumstances having to balancing other classes and a full-time job.

Ramesh is an excellent teacher both in terms of understanding and communicating theory as well as taking humanistic approach to conducting class. The experience was enjoyable and insightful. I would not hesitate to take another class or collaborate in some other way with Ramesh. His teaching style is both effective and of a very high quality.

Professor Bollapragada gives clear examples of what he excepts students to understand. I think his lectures are easy to follow and out of class activity is helpful. Unfortunately, there will always be students who will not appreciate a teacher who is passionate about the subject they are teaching. Overall, this teacher knows what he is doing.

Very good professor, I have 5 classes this semester so I have no time to look the book. Instead his lecture in the class is enough for me to understand the subject. 2 mid terms, he gave sample test first and quiz mostly from online book, the game and project is a little bit confusing but that's part of the class. Overall I like him:)

Very arrogant and condescending. If you read the book don't bother showing up for class since he seems to lecture straight from the text. Not very understanding of the fact that students might be taking other classes than his or have lives outside of his class. Knows the material but does not know how to teach it.

Ramesh is a great professor. He tries his best to help his students understand the materials and get the best possible grade on the exams. If you do the homework assignments, and sample exams (if there is any), you will succeed in the class. He is very understanding and accomodative to his students.

Prof. Bollapragada is a very knowledgable instructor. His has extensive experience in Supply chain management which he brings it to the classroom. The case studies and the games are a wonderful learning experience. He is the best DS professor, and I believe he has several awards for research, and is internationally famous & recognized professor.

He is an excellent teacher. Presnts the material in a methodical and thorough manner which made it possible to learn the concepts and apply it to exercises and case studies. He also has a great sense of humor, and wants all students to succeed. I was promoted at my work, after implementing some of the concepts I learnt in his class.

His Quality graduate class was great! Applied to current times, real scenarios. Brings good guest speakers. Exercises in class, group work helpful learning. World renowned professor with credible experience. Very good study materials, good software applications. Gives reasonable load of work, and in the end all students get good grades.

He's a good teacher and always willing to help you if you have any questions. his accent is pretty heavy. lecture is super boring, and most people didnt even show up to class. however attending class was the most beneficial part for tests and homework. go to class and take good notes! do good on the projects too

Don't take his classes! Last semester he gave A to everybody. This semester, since people complained, he gave only B. The way he grades is totally unfair, especially if you deserve better. His classes are not very clear, he hardly knows answers. He leaves the class during students' presentation. He reads the slides and from the book. Waste of time!

You may get A for Project1 and A for midterm but suddenly get a B for final. He is nice and his class is kind of fun except his accent. But the worst thing is that he acted differently at class and take photos of everyone at final.

World renowned professor with outstanding honors. Could be at Stanford or Berkeley for his research accompishhments. Took his class this summer. He is simply superb. Examples of great teaching include his knowledge, dedication, willingness to help in and out of class. Uses PPT files of his own, and his vast knowledge and great sense of humor.

Ramesh was difficult to understand at times because of his accent. I found him quite rude when I talked to him during office hours. Also, I got A's on every project and on the exams, yet I got a B+ in the class. Have no idea why.

Effective notes and power point presentations, organized lectures, several practice problems in class. Good examples of real world problems and being very patient with students. In addition, he is generous and open to everyone's point of view. Very fair in grading. Have not known anyone who failed his class.

If you are deciding what DS 412 class to take...THIS IS IT! This professor is very reasonable on the difficulty of this class and teaches the class in a very clear and simple way. He really cares about your success and does more than enough to prepare you for exams. He actually called me when he realized I was not present for the Final!

Amazing professor! Please take him and you will not fail his class! He gives extra credit points, he curves exams, so there is no way to fail his class! I loved him! If you want a good stats teacher you found him! He is the second by definition, "teacher" I have found at SFSU Business program. If you want to learn something he will teach you, if not, you are not required to to pass the class. More teachers less employees.

Dont give us enough time to finish test, curves them a little, has accent, final is cumulative, not multiple choice. When some students ask to explain more, says he has gone over this enough already and dont have time and moves on. He just had a baby so he left us during the last month of class with a Grad student. Openbook and notes dont help much

Nice little guy. He may have an Indian accent, but he's pretty clear when he teaches. He curves every exam and you are allowed to use textbook and class notes during tests.

he's a good professor and he definitely knows his stuff. class is base off of 2 midterms and 1 final. no homework. he has a thick indian accent but you'll get use to it. ds412 is a hard subject in general so you'll have to study hard if you want an A or B.

Bollapragada is okay. Going to his office hours is a complete waste of time because he is not helpful at all. His tests are okay, just study the practice tests. The tutors screwed us over and we didn't get all of our points back. He curves A LOT, so that is kind of nice. Overall, I really disliked this class because it is really boring.

I underestimated this class, but with that said, I could've easily passed with a C. I withdrew because I aim to get A's or B's. Also, his accent makes him hard to understand, and he can be very condescending when you ask questions. If you can, take a different professor.

His accent is terrible. I tried all my best to listen words that he tried to express but I still could not understand. His test is so unclear and misleading. I tried to ask him question but he responded that " all material are dicussed in class" I have hw to ask him and he didn't answer to Me. I strongly prefer students to take another professor

It's true that his curve helps low grade students more than high grades. Some students were getting 40% and getting a C- while 80% would only be a B. Overall, he is easy if you are good at statistics. Just study the notes and practice the problems he assign and you'll be fine. No need to read the book. He takes his time to go over the topics.

RAMESH is the bestest teacher ever! He curves EVERY test so it's impossible that anyone fails (unless you don't even try). He's VERY knowledgeable of the subject and even though he has an accent, it is not hard to understand him. I WISH MORE PROFESSORS WERE LIKE HIM!

Does not pace himself well, so he wastes time on unimportant things and then rushes through difficult and important mathematical models. He doesn't like questions and gets mad when he thinks he already explained himself. He curves generously and gives away points for nothing, which I found de-motivating, but if you want an easy class this is it.

Ramesh is the best professor I've ever encountered. He teaches with clarity, he gently guides the non math-oriented students through the equations, and he allows use of the text and notes during exams. His exams are reasonable and are graded fairly. But more important, he's a genuinely nice person who will work with his students to pass the course.

This prof is a mess. Takes attendance everyday, boring lectures, and always ends class after the scheduled time. Also tests are broken up into 30 min, 15-20 multiple choice questions one day, and a 1 hour 3+ question word problem the next week. Word problems were very hard, but curved..40/80 is a C. Hated this class!

Come to class every time, sit at the first desk (he has an accent) and take notes = you will surely understand the material and pass the class. Open notes and book during all tests (final too). No HW! There's a group project in the end - make sure you know who you'll work with. Slackers screw your grade by 15% otherwise (be choosy).

I think that Prof. B wants his students to do well so he will demonstrate a problem 4 to 5 different ways to cover all scenarios all at once. Attendance is important. I do not recommend this as a summer class because it is too intense to absorb, and tutoring is very limited. Regardless, I respect him as a brilliant person and teacher. JP

I also do not recommend taking this for a summer course. There is too much material to cover and not enough time. Did not offer much help during office hourse and tutoring was unavailable. His practice tests are nothing like the final. Why bother studying the material when it doesn't appear on the exams? Class is designed for students to FAIL!

This is supposed to be an introductory class.Ramesh is nice enough but treats students like they have prior knowledge to the subject. Although he gives a generous curve, it doesn't say much that more than half the class was failing after the midterm. The language on the tests is confusing and different from what is taught in class.

This class was extremely hard!!! He's very unclear and it's really hard understanding his accent. The examples taught in class and the practice HW were very simple and basic; however, his exams were extremely difficult and they were nothing like the practice HWs. Also, You're not gonna know your overall class grade until final grades are due.

Took him in spring of 2013. Prior to taking this class heard good things but when class started I realized I made a mistake. Incredibly difficult to understand. In this course listening to lecture is of vital importance but impossible because of his thick accent. His instruction is not clear either. For the math inclined class is doable.

This class wasn't THAT bad. He curves both midterms and the final and he lets you use the book during the tests. The group project wasn't hard at all. I was expecting something similar to the isys363 project, but it was just 10 hw style q's on the topics he covers. I thought his accent was going to be a problem but it wasn't AT ALL.

AVOID at all costs. Nice person, but a terrible professor! Gives a TON of work, grading is totally random, midterm and final to fail. This class was a nightmare from start to finish -- I spent 20 hours on first assignment alone. His lectures do not help, he just goes over the material in the book. Overall feeling: too much time spent on nothing.

Was NOT here for the first 4 weeks of school. Comes back the 5th week and assigns a two part exam on the 6th week. No one understands what is going on, because we can't even understand what he is saying. Honestly, don't even choose this class, EVEN if it is the only class left. IT'S NOT WORTH IT

Ramesh is an excellent professor; he is an asset to college of business and the university. He received the best researcher award for the entire university and this is considered a very distinguished award, generally given professors who have written several books, published 100 research papers etc.. Explained subject thoroughly with lot of examples. All class material available online on ILEARN. Solutions to HW problems posted on ILEARN. In addition assigns several practice problems from past exams before each exam. Asks us multiple times if we followed the concepts and repeats it again for us.

This is an elective course in Business Forecasting for MBA students. In my opinion Ramesh style fits the graduate students more than the undergraduate students. He teaches in accordance to the real world situations and is open to a variety of views. I would strongly recommend him for any class!

Just finished our exam 1. Relatively simple exam yet many students flunked it. He was generous with curve but twas mainly designed for the low grade students. I wished he would made the students earn their extra credit instead of giving it for free. It was not fair to those hard working students whose grades are in A- as it barely helped.

Worst teacher I've ever had in my life. I never missed one class. Can't understand a word he says with his thick indian accent. The questions that he puts on the tests are nothing like the practice exam questions or problems you learn in class, even though he says the test will be just like it. Horrible teacher. He doesn't know how to teach.

He missed the first month of class and left us with a horrible substitute teacher who came late every day. It's hard to put effort into a subject when the teacher can't even bother to. When he came back he tried to be lenient with the grading because of complaints about the first month of school. I got a decent grade but didn't learn anything.

He is not clear during class at all and flies through the material. Over half the class failed the first test with the small curve he gave us. He expects you to learn pretty much everything outside of class. Has a very thick accent and is very hard to understand. Would not recommend him at all.

When students had questions regarding a previously covered topic, he would say "I already covered that". He goes over topics very fast. He tricked us into taking a multiple choice final 2 weeks before finals and it was all calculations when it should have been theory. He does not give the full period for MC exams - rushes us. Pick one final only!

The average test grade is a 2360 but lets you use the book on them. He's very difficult to understand, boring, and has a thick accentbad hand writing and his exams are really tough, but he curves like no other professor you've met. A 23 then becomes a C-. If he graded normally,everyone would fail but he curves so everyone passes. IDK how I passed

Prof. Ramesh is a world renowned researcher and a great teacher. ISan Francisco state is very lucky to have him. He is a Stanford or UC berkeley level material. Not sure why he wants to be at sf state. His class on business forecasting for MBAs was a wonderful class, and we learnt a lot. I am applying all the concepts from the class in my work.

The professor is not prepared for teaching this class. The class is disorganized and the grading is unfair. He has trouble to properly show the excel functions and needs help from students. And mid-term grading is unfair. Some students submitted their results after the solution is posted. And several students revised their mid-term excel sheets.

It is a very difficult class. there is an HW assigned each week, end of the semester group project and 2 exams. Lot of work, especially if you are a beginner in Excel. Average 5 hours of work per week. At the end, you learn a lot! Highly recommend him.

DS 412 is a difficult class and his was no exception. You have to put in work to get a good grade. However, he is a very caring teacher that understands we are all busy college students. He is willing to extend the deadline or curve the tests to help us. He genuinely wants everyone to do well and is willing to help if you ask for it.

DS412 is tough comparing to other business classes. Prof. wants everyone to pass. Open book exams, grade curves,provide practice exams which helps a lot. attend his class to earn participation points 7% of the grade. do all the homework and ones on text book and practice exams. Sure A. But don't think you can pass a class without doing your part.

Lots of homework even though it's optional. Should do the homework because you will get 10 extra points for the exams. Read the book as it will help you with understanding the homework. Go to tutors if you are stuck on any homework problems. Study the homework problems for the tests. If you put in the effort, you can get an A.

Bollapragda is really knowledgeable in his field, however he is not good at teaching. I took his course in the summer. It was brutal. Many students ran out of time during the midterm and final and had to end up guessing. He gets pissed when students ask questions. Thankful there is a curve, otherwise everyone would fail. Hard work & stressful.

His accent is SO HEAVY. I literally cannot understand anything he says and i ended up teaching myself the material whole semester. Work load is normal and heavily curves the tests which is chill. His tests ARE NOT ON THE BOOK, ONLY HIS LECTURES. Wish i had known that prior to test. Exams are open book, open notes.

LISTEN!! Bollapragada is really an underappreciated professor. I was scared to take him due to bad reviews but he is such a caring professor and wants everyone to pass. Took summer, easy pass. He tells you what to study for and there are no surprises on the exam. Appreciate the curve on exams and extra points he gives b/c no other professor will.

Took him over the summer. Very knowledgeable and caring teacher, he wants you to pass; open textbook, open notes on exams and gives extra credit! His accent is a little heavy, so if english isn't your first language, it'll be a little difficult to understand him. DS 412 is a very hard subject and if Math is a weakness; it can be brutal! Ramesh understands that and if you show him that you're doing your best to pass the class - you'll pass with a C or better! Be on time, attend his classes, do the hw, and his exams are hard but open book (kind of helps). HE WANTS EVERYONE TO PASS so he gives a great curve!

He knows the material well, but does not follow a logical sequence in class. We often jump between 3 different problems at a time so your notes might become a jumbled mess. He is also very difficult to understand. His accent is quite thick, but also he speaks softly. I think he expects students to know more than they do. He does grade on a curve.

Prof Ramesh needs lots of improvement to teach an MBA class. I think he could be a good teacher for undergrad courses as he gives lot of repetitive/unnecessary(does not adds value) homework, slow, wastes time in class, unnecessary long exams. You might know the subject though. But lacks practicality for MBA program.

I highly recommend taking his class if for DS412. The subject may be hard, but he makes sure that everyone passes with at least a C as long as you try your best and do the work/attend the lectures. He gives really generous curves (Bumps up a letter grade). Lots of extra credit. Just do your work and attend class and you will pass with at least a C.

Mr. Ramesh comes across as a little hard at times. He sometimes goes fast, but he does care about his students. He has review sessions and is always willing to help. I really struggled toward the end of my semester but his extra credit and review sessions really helped. I'm so glad I took this class with him this semester!

Great professor! I took him during Summer Session 1 2019, very happy i did Sometimes he's hard to understand because of his accent, don't let that scare you. He explains concepts really well. Although super fast class, worth taking over summer to get outta the way. Gives amazing curve on exam, there's no reason you shouldn't pass with B or C.

Took him for summer school. 4 hour classes were brutal. He gave us 20-30 min breaks and let us out 15-30 mins early most times. Take good notes. He allows open notes and open book in tests so just condense all notes into the allowed open notes. Attendance was 7% of our grade and he took attendance twice, when class starts and before it ends.

He doesn't use iLearn so I had no clue what my grade was the entire semester and even though I asked him he never gave me a straight forward answer. EVERY test was graded incorrectly. I had him regrade my test and it went from an F to a C+?? I didn't even correct it. he's that bad

He brags of how many students have failed his class or passed with a C-. I saw him giggling after students were complaining that his exams were nothing like the homework or lectures. He is very rude to my classmates. I am a grown adult taking this class. I feel bad for these kids paying good money for someone who is disrespectful + teaches poorly.

His homework is really easy but his TESTS are very hard and are nothing similar to the homework. He takes forever to respond to emails and if he's put on the spot he rudely redirects you to visit his office hours. He has no compassion and enjoys seeing others suffer during a crisis. This class was tough with the test but Ramesh makes it possible for you to pass even if you bomb the test. He gives a good amount of extra credit! If the whole class is struggling, he gives you extra points on your test. Show up to his office hours and ask him questions if youre concerned about your grade. He sucks at emails but be consistent.

Super nice guy! Complete disaster as a professor! He obviously knows the material but he CANNOT teach! This class is basically a stats class, and he complicates every problem. The good news is he CURVES and offers a lot of extra credit. Exams r short usually 2-3 long problems but he is never clear on what will be on the exam.

i was in Prof. Bollapragada's Spring semester class. He teaches the core operations management class every semester. Very inspirational and respected as noted in the feedback above. Lots of homeworks, but goes over them in detail. Students pass easily, but to get an A, you have to study hard like any other class.

Fortunate to have this class online summer2020 during Covid19. 2 exams Midterm/Final need to take during his lecture so students can ask questions and camera can be off, you need to write down exam answers and show work for full credit and scan/pic to ilearn. Was very hard but most problems online. Homework every week very hard but online as well.

Took in summer 2020, this class is hard no matter who you take. Some of the hardest math i have ever seen. The homework and midterm/final can be found online but not all of it. He makes you be on zoom during exams and you need to write out your work and answers on a paper and upload a picture of it for credit. VERY HARD STUFF.

He's the best DS 412 professor there is at SFSU. He made sure that everyone passed DS 412. There are 2 midterms and 1 final worth 65% of your grade, 30% on homework, and 5% on attendance. He gives one EC homework assignment that is worth up to 6% EC. WileyPlus HW with 3 attempts. At minimum, study and do the practice exams and you will be fine!

This class is not meant to be easy at all. Professor Bollapragada helps students no matter if it is homework or exams, he grades based on understanding and knowledge, he gives you a break if you made a mistake. He actually wants you to learn and wants you to get an A. He drops your lowest homework grade. If only more math professors were like him.

Even though his teaching styles sucks and there is a lot of errors within his study guide exams. 65 percent is based on 3 exams and 35 percent is homework and attendance. Overall he does truly care about his students and always listens to your concerns. For me lectures did not help and replying on practice questions did.

Tough class but prof. B tries to ensure that all students pass. Very knowledgable, goes into detail about topics. 3 exams. HW on WileyPlus. No quizzes. Takes attendance for in-person class. Uploads lectures to watch. Opportunities for extra credit. Don't be discouraged to ask for extra help during office hours if needed. Overall, good professor!

DO NOT PICK THIS PROFESSOR. Not a single word that comes out of his mouth is understandable; he gives out sample exams that you'll study day and night for, and when you get the exam, it's nothing like the sample exam. The man is a robot reading off his script; there is no learning, there is only surviving.

This class was extremely frustrating. The exams were confusing and often didn't match what was taught in lectures. The grading felt unfair, and it was hard to understand what exactly he expected from students. The lectures didn't help much when it came time for tests. His accent is really bad sometimes you can't understand what he's saying.

The way you'll pass this class is if you attend the majority of the lectures. He's great for visual learners as he goes through each step for exam questions. Focus on being able to solve the questions without using Excel, as for the tests/exams, you'll have to do it by hand and show your work. You do get 15 pgs of notes, though for each test/exam.

honestly, prof bollapragada is super super nice!! he has a thick accent so it was a little hard to understand what he was talking about at first, and his slides can be a little confusing sometimes. but he's a really great person and honestly just wants his students to pass his class!! he gave us chocolates at the final which was really sweet :)
