Absolutely Incredible Teacher. He makes you think outside the box. He doesn't teach you to be a "coder" but an Engineer. Someone who can think for themselves and solve things. Wired and Fun guy. Makes the students work their guts out. I wish he taught more classes and everyone I personally know loved his teaching style!

Randy is my absolute favorite instructor. I cannot begin to explain, but he spent numerous hours outside of class helping me and he was always so cheerful. Took as an internet class. Prof didn't give us course material until 4 weeks into the semester. TONS of reading required (expected), would sometimes take weeks to respond to emails for help. Wouldn't take again

I did not like taking his class. He graded two-third of our assignments the last 2 weeks of class. I still got an A, but pretty much with 0 feedback from him. Also, he was quite nitpicky when he finally graded the assignments. Not a hard class, if you know how to code already. But don't take his class online, if you like good feedback on your work.

The professor is amazing. I was hesitant to take this class because I saw his general rate is 3 and people commented he doesn't give feedback. But actually he gives excellent feedback and always be there for your questions. As long as you do the work and follow the feedback to fix your work you can get a good grade.

Has not graded programming assignments submitted 2+ months ago. Quizzes and exams contain ambiguous questions with false information and/or ask you about things that were never taught, and are auto graded by canvas so it's not like you can clarify what you mean when you answer. You read a book and then are on your own for assignments and quizzes.

Professor Koziatek tailors the class tho those who can problem solve on their own. The course is a guide. I love how Professor Kotiztek encourages you to use any resources. If you want a cookie cutter class and hand holding you should find a different professor (and degree path). Great at answering questions promptly.

I agree with the other reviewers that Prof Koziatek is a tough grader, but he is fair. The assignments he gave generally had clear requirements, and when writing code, it either fits the requirements and functions or it doesn't. The initial assigments took a long time to grade which was frustrating but we were allowed to correct and resubmit.

I struggled with this class, but professor Koziatek was extremely helpful and responsive when I would reach out. He was very patient with me and helped me get through parts of assignments that I didn't understand. I'll be taking another one of his classes. You do have to buy/rent his textbook.

Randal Koziatek cares about his students and the subject matter. He is available anytime to help students with questions. Most of the grade is based on 5-6 large programming assignments, which are assigned in the second half of the semester. All assignments are graded at the end of the semester, so schedule a meeting to get feedback on assignments.

Take this class if you are not afraid of a challenge, stay away otherwise. He really doesn't hold your hand too much on these assignments. This sets up the fundamentals you need to succeed as a programmer. Major downside is he takes forever to grade assignments. Three of my major assignments were graded after the semester was over.

He expects you to memorize the textbook, and understand everything perfectly. Assignments were out of context, and were unrelated to the material. Would unprofessionally use text instead of email. Expectations are unrealistic. When meeting with him, he was rude about not remembering everything. I NEVER write reviews. Don't take a class from him.

This is probably the hardest coding class at SLCC, however you're in pretty good hands. He will give you a challenging program to create but he wont give you the answers but instead will guide you into the right direction. He is willing to meet outside of class to review your code and break it down for you so you can solve the problem yourself.

Class was easy. I spent a total of 80 hours reading textbooks, working on assignments and taking tests for this class. I finished everything a month early. Randy sat down with me and went over every assignment I submitted to make sure it was working properly so I'd get an A. Such a good dude and the material was very reasonable.

Lots of textbook reading "required" that I never did. Had experience C# from one class in HighSchool, could easily teach myself and wing it. Used AI to review code read the textbook and edit accordingly so I solved problems in the way asked based on the learning material I never would read. Im no genius. He Takes FOREVER to grade late work.

Professor Koziatek is a solid teacher. He graded late, but not too late. Average teacher with some negatives, but overall is fine. I understood most of the content, and the assignments were good for reinforcing that. Teaching style is "Do homework and then learn from feedback" types. Okay amount of reading.

Great teacher. I took pages of notes during his lectures and found that he often went over things that were useful in later assignments. He has clearly thought through how introduce information gradually. Always made himself available after class for questions, and was easy to reach outside of class. Looking forward to having him again.

Going to lectures wasnt super helpful he wouldnt explain concepts very well and would cherry pick for very specific answers. Didnt feel like he cared so much about learning hut just to memorize and repeat. Had to learn most of my stuff on my own but it is online to be fair. Not a bad professor but definitely not my first pick
